Malice Hardt

Wait if Grant was attacking Karn, Thor did their magic, Zephyr attacked Pyrrha who's magic was fire. That meant it would be obvious who's magic was the birds attacking. So when Penny didn't hesitate at all to just roast the birds which caused them to drop to the ground dead and on fire. She frowned and stared at her. "Wow.... that's kinda messed up." Malice muttered before ducking from another fireball, only to see Grant coming at her now. Penny would then proclaim that she was hers which made Malice flip her off. "Excuse me but I rather not be handed around as a punching bag! Thank you very much!" She stated drawing Anubis from the space pouch and held her sword at the ready for Penny or Grant.

@Joshua Tamashii
Zephyr Hardt

Huh that actually worked for once. He would be amazed when she was launched back and seemingly annoyed by what he did which made him chuckle nervously when she had quite a dangerous aura about her while beckoning him to try again. "I don't know, a smart person would say "no you come at me", for the fact you are probably plotting something. Good thing I'm an idiot right?" Zephyr stated laughing before the golden glow happened again, followed by an engine sound with him bursting towards her. Aiming to launch his arm into her and clothesline her to the ground.

Grant Vale -- Magic Games Event
Grant seemed pained as Karn failed to transform, but
managed to keep his cool as Penny faced him down. ”Ah, I wouldn’t advise hurting me if you really do care about your Karn.” He’d chuckle softly, though his breathing would become slightly labored from Karn’s misfortune as he did his best to keep himself under control. ”Just about anything you do to me will hurt him just as much right now, that includes a level of physical damage.” He added, making sure Penny understood. It would cross his mind that it's also lucky that transformations didn't activate through the link either. He would glance over at Malice as she complained about them ignoring her, but he wouldn’t say anything, keeping his attention on Penny. ”So, if you don’t mind, I’m sure there are opponents you’ll find far more interesting than this one.”

@Caits@Silver Fox@Oblivion666

Serma “Luna” Cathris -- Magic Games Stadium Hallway
Luna would nod as Amelia’s question. ”Y-yeah, I’ve been doing okay. Uhm, how are you? I know I was kinda rougher on you in the games than I really needed to be. Which is, uhm, what I kinda came to apologize about the other day. I mean, I get that it’s the games and everyone knows they’re gonna get hurt but… I felt like I had gone a bti farther than I needed to to win our fight, a-and it made me feel awful knowing I could’ve hurt you badly. So, uhm... I-I’m really sorry about that, i-is what I'm trying to say.” Luna’s cheeks reddened a bit and she looked down. Arie watched for a moment before quietly excusing herself and heading back to her seat in the stands. Luna could handle herself, and a weakling mage like her probably wouldn’t be able to do squat against those two.

Angel Ferrara

"Alright. Well, I'll, uh, talk to my friend. And we'll keep it in mind."

Angel's eyes pointedly lifted up to the back of Cyare's head and stayed there, watching her damp hair cling to her back as she toweled off. He hadn't even considered the fact that she may be a mage herself. He thought about asking her about her powerset, but his dad had always taught him never to ask about a girl's age or weight. (Angel's gaze began to drop again, and quickly righted itself on the back of her neck. Dad would haunt him forever if he slipped up now.)

Ferrara couldn't imagine that trivial physical details like that were important to avoid, and something as intimate as magic wasn't. So he kept silent on it and smiled thankfully to himself.

"It was really nice meeting you, Miss Cyare."

Cyare Staunton

"A pleasure, Ferrara." The Tactical Mage said simple, continuing to dry herself until she was satisfied she wouldn't get her robe wet. She did, eventually, turn to face the other mage again and regard him with something akin to curiosity. Try as she might, the fascination with what her former fellow tub occupant might have for magic remained. He was, rather clearly, not a member of any guild. Much too easily flustered, and by any indication good-natured, to be a Dark Wizard. The scarring spoke of some rather severe injuries but he did not seem to be one for combat to any real degree. Perhaps they had been the catalyst for his training? "I hope that you find your compatriot with greater ease than with which you found the hot tub."

"For your own reference," Cyare began, pulling on her robe, gathering it loosely about her torso and tying it tightly around her waist. "My... business partner, and I took one of the few remaining combat-oriented jobs. Such things do not seem to be your preferred line of work, regardless, but it seemed best to inform you. Given the natural cessation of the Magic Games, and the number of mages looking for work resulting, it is likely that slim pickings remain."

"Nevertheless, I wish you luck. If you describe your companion I could direct her as to where to find you."

Penny looked over to Malice, "in case you haven't noticed, I'm kinda messed up. I had no intention of harming the birds. They flew into my flames"

She turned her attention back to Grant. Penny just smiled, and then she was moving. She drew herself in close. "I don't need physical attacks to take you out. Sorry Karn. I'll try and wake you as soon as possible" it was better to get rid of the, really, blackmail quickly, and to prevent any more harm to karn.

She was as close as she was going to get to Grant. "Phoenix Song: Sleep" no one else in the event should hear the song. It was soft, played down so it wouldn't spread, and it was quite, calming, and sleep inducing.

It could be resisted, but it would certainly make the target lathargic. "Let Karn Go, and perhaps I will release the song"

It was clear though that Penny wasn't quite stable.

mastee Jamie
@joshua tamashii
Master Jamie smiled, "how about we have some fairy cakes later? Our day out got a bit ruined, didn't it? We can go to a tea shop, would you like that Elyse? You could have some fun with Sam" the older girl smiled, and waved at Elyse happily, around a lollipop

michael@silver fox

The sheer force of the contestants seemed to fill the arena, and Michael had to wonder if it would be dangerous to the participants. The crowd seemed excited, something Michael didn't really understand. The games were fascinating, but this just seemed like throwing the contestants into a fire and hoping for a catastrophe.

"I don't think this event was a good idea. There's too much tension, isn't there? I think someone is going to get seriously hurt"

As the person turned around Robin realized it was not a man but a woman he was adressing. The moment he realized this he put his and behind his head and rubbed it softly. "I see, when I walked in here I wasn't paying much attention so I didn't realize you were a woman. You have my sincerest apologies madame, I can assure I shall not make this mistake again." When he began to apologize he put his right arm in front of his chest and bowed apologetically.

Once Robin was finished apologizing he stood up straight and reached his right hand out to the woman and his left to the man who just spoke up. "Please, allow me to introduce myself, my name is Robin Lowin and I'm a travelling mage. I heard mention of this guild not long ago and thought it a fitting place for me. As for my abilities, I use Magnetic Manipulation magic, if you would like a demonstration I would be obliged to show you." He stood there reaching his hands out to the two strangers with a soft smile spread across his face. He spoke more bluntly now but with the same tone as before, a certain air to him that was hard to describe.

@Caits @Lmpkio

Jarvis gave a soft frown. The boy seemed confident, but there was something about him. Jarvis couldn't quite put his finger on it. "I'm Jarvis, one of the leaders of the guild. Master Jamie is watching the games, but I can bring you into the guild. We're a little bit disordered at the moment, but we can get you a hotel room. When we are back at the guild, we can show you around. All I need to know is what color would you like your mark, and where" Jarvis said, going over to a concierge counter and taking the guild marker from where it had been left

Thor

Drama was unfolding around Thor. All diffrent kind of magics and all diffrent kind of fighting styles Thor was amazed by the fight. Yet Thor's tactic seemed to work about not making the first move. No one had been attacking Thor yet so it was pretty easy to stay on the platform but it began to get a bit boring. With the advantage Thor now had Thor could easily swipe one of the contestants out of the ring by surprising them. Thor wasn't as fast as ussual however. Flight magic was forbidden and Thor didn't know if enhancing their feet would be called flight magic. Thor would have to drag their feet over the ground otherwise so Thor simply ran. An easy opponent to get out first. There were lots to chose from but Thor would definitly want to leave the blonde as last, as desert.

Thor took on a quick pace and began headed over towards a random opponent. Zephyr was Thor's target for now. He seemed fun to deal with. Before Zephyr could launch his attack at the girl Thor interrupted by attempted to slam 4 of the legs against his back so he would lose his balance and with the other 4 be ready to catch him to fully electrocute him.

Karn || Crocus || Game Stadium

@Caits@Burthstone@t2wave

Karn clicked her tongue lightly as she watched the huge man, he was keeping it cool, but it seemed he was about as in pain as she was. So surprisingly, her fuck ups were effective. So she was about to do it again as hard distraction so Penny could just probably throw him out of the ring until the blonde heard a song. She started feeling heavily groggy, like the times she stayed up late for days and her eyelids started to feel like anvils, groggily flittering between open and closed.

Fuck. Penny. Right. The. Fuck. Now.

The blonde was unsure if going to sleep right now was a good idea. Not for the fact that she'd be vulnerable, but other factors as well. Earthland Karn and Ariel were currently in the middle of something. Sure, they'd probably feel all the on purpose agony she was causing, but they were still having a therapeutic session and Karn rather not ruin it for everyone's own good if going to sleep had Ariel return to her body. She tried to fight it, but it was hard. Falling to her arms hands and knees, she tried focusing her mind for something to help. Anything. Pain instantly struck her as her body changed. Or tried to. It distorted into something now, she tried for a worm though she was still human sized. Though her arms still remained and were a bit larger then the wormy body. Legs slightly sticking out and twitching painfully. Still, holding back screams of agony, before slamming her head into the earth. Bashing against it until she got it right and dug beneath it, disappearing in the earth, tail swishing some dirt over the hole. Clawing her twisted fingers against it, before trying again, try for a mole but just ended up passing out and automatically returning human.

Burying herself alive was probably not the best idea. But perhaps it would wake her up faster with the very thin air. Well, on the bright side, maybe Ariel could go back to her body now. Fuck though. Everything hurt.

Prince || Crocus || Game Stadium

@Caits

Prince glanced to Michael as his Guildmate voiced his concern, the feline slightly touched a feline ear and scratched behind it. "Mhmm perhaps. At least though no one actually needs to be knocked out. They just need to ring out the other opponents. With the way things are going, usually these types of battles tend to send people flying. So hopefully, they just end up knocking each other out of the ring." he answered.

Mors vincit omnia

(Death conquers all)

Unknown

"...yes, of course, everything is going according to schedule. There was an incident, and the subjects escaped, however, they seem to have left town." "I see, that is unfortunate, but there is little else we can do. How is it that they escaped?" There was a pause. "A wizard, Ferrin, his name was? He appears to be quite powerful. He could be prove a hiderance. ...or, possibly, an asset..." "Sir?" "Don't worry about him. Even if he does interfere, there is nothing he can do. Three decades of planning has gone into this, even he cannot stop us now. Nevertheless, have your spies keep an eye out for him, but do not engage him. That is all."

Ferrin

"Man, this sucks." I complained, loudly. More than half the day was gone, and I had turned up squat. No matter who I asked, or where I went, the story was the same, everything was normal, there were no groups of shadowy figures meeting in a dark alley, no dead bodies turning up in the streets, or people mysteriously going missing. Crocus was as normal as it could get during the Grand Magic Games. The event from the other day had been passed off as another fight between wizards.

I was sprawled on a bench near a quiter part of the city, in one of the rare plots of random greenery, just existing in the middle of a big, bustling city. The kind that aught to not exist, but through some circumstance, bad planning, or a purposeful arrangment, a strip of land went unused, and got turned into a blotch of green in a sea of gray. A small baston of nature that held firm against the rising tide of civilization.

I sighed as I rested my arms on the back of the bench, and put my head back. I could feel a slight headache coming on. Eventualy, I took notice of some small gray birds, that are ever-present in any city, hopping around and chirping nearby. One of them, braver than its fellows, hopped up on the bench and looked at me with its beady eyes. Leaning forward, and looking at it, I told it, "I guess I am not cut out to be an investigator." It chirped, and cocked its head back and forth a few times before suddenly taking flight, and flying away. "It was nice talking to you, too." I muttered. Giving a yawn, I got to my feet to resume the search.

Walking through Crocus, or any big city, is a whirlwind of sights, smells, and a cacophony of noises. People are the first thing you notice. Humanity is everywhere, crowding the streets, in the buildings, even, if you look up, as I often do, on the rooftops. Then there are the buildings, which I find are the most intersting. Some squat, some tall, some grey, some blue, some with gaudy, colorful signs above the entrance, others plain, and inconspicuous, almost hiding in plain sight. The last thing are the smells, the smell of food, people, trash, animals and a hundred other, unidentifiable, scents blend together to create a...a... parfum that is unique to every city. I had an idea to head for the colosseum, for no particular reason, and although that was my ultimate desdenation, I wandered a bit, curious to see exactly how it had changed in the last two hundred or so years.

Yeah, that. Honestly, I'm still trying to wrap my head around the idea that I had ended up two hundreds years into the future, and that a lot happened that I missed. Everytime I try, my brain just seems to fail, and I have simple decided not to think about it, and accept this time as my new reality. Its tough, but whatever keeps me functioning. Maybe some day, when I don't have an imminent crises, I can go insane, and wallow in greif, or whatever. But for now, it just seems unreal.

A passing sensation, like a wire of sub-zero metal being pressed into my skin, broke me out of my thoughts. I stopped and look around for the source. I saw nothing, just buildings and people...and more buildings and more people. Acting on instinct, I took a step back-- and there it was again. I looked at my feet and saw the street, but nothing else. The left one option. I inched forward slowly, getting some annoyed looks from people passing around me for blocking the traffic. Eventualy, I felt the sensation again, and it stayed as I stood on the spot. I was feeling the residue of an incredibly powerful magic, of a type I did not reconise. As I stood there, I relised that the residue exteded in thin line from one side of the street to the other, which explained why I only felt it for a moment. More bored than anything else, I walked the line of magic and found that it was straight and narrow. I could find out nothing more, so I moved on. Crocus had been a city of wizards for a long time, and it wasn't unusual for me to feel all kinds of magical resadue from spells past and present. I attempt to block most of the imput, becuase, like any sence, it can get overloaded, but sometimes a particualy strong feeling gets through. With a shrug, I filed away the phenomenon, and kept heading toward the colosseum.

The crowd thickened as I got closer, but with my height and size, I could push my way through. I made my way through the crowd, and through one of the enormous hallways that lead to the seats. Instead of finding a seat, I remained standing, watching the games. I narrowed my eyes slightly, when I saw a member of Iron Enigma participating. I had forgotten about the little raid I put together. They would be all too glad to know I was here, and the soldiers probably still wanted me for questioning. Oh well, you live long enough, and you are bound to make some enemies. Still...I probably shouldn't linger too long here.

Robin nodded softly to the man and gave a quick bow before smiling happily "That sounds wonderful, thank you oh so much for accepting me, I truly appreciate it." He walked towards where the man was and took of his robe, revealing the clothes his was wearing underneath.

As the robe hit the ground the clanking of metal was heard a few times and Robin turned around grabbing the bottom of his black silk shirt. "I want a green mark on my left shoulder blade." As he spoke he rose the shirt up and over his head revealing at least ten scars on his back ranging from small to large.

Edo-Karn, Karn, and Ariel - Grand Magic Games

@Silver Fox@t2wave
Well now, this was different than the dream. They were all somewhat their own people still. When Karn's body was awake they were all bunched together and could hear everything. It had suddenly become abundantly clear to Ariel what Edo-Karn neant by voices. Definitely was more noisy than having mood swings from personality changes.

They mentioned that they all could hear and feel everything. It didn't take long for that to sink in either as she sensed some attraction toward Amaya that wasn't her own. It made her shiver a bit since it was something being impressed on her from outside of herself. "Oh, well. This is really weird. There isn't a way to turn that off is there?"

"Not really. Unless Karn loses all sense of emotions." Pen yawned boredly.

"Yup! You'll feel everything! Probably best we don't run into the Princess." Trinity giggled.

"Heh yeah. Some personality switched probably won't know what to do with the emotions brought by that interaction." Rian's calm sultry voice scoffed in what sounded like both irritation and amusement.

"This is just great. Another room buddy in these bundle of thoughts." Mayat's voice spoke sarcastically.

---

Edo-Karn munched her food but blinked slowly as she listened briefly to the conversation in her head. "I'm hoping your just another voice Ariel. It's already awkward knowing my counterpart can feel my emotions and see my thoughts. And this probably won't beat any sorta intimacy I have ever experienced with someone." she thought in mild amusement, some of the voices groaning at her words at the mere thought, as if wanting to stop any thoughts popping up about certain situations.

Yes this was extremely awkward. Good thing she didn't particularly have anything embarrassing on her mind. And probably best left that way. The personality thing was mentioned but Ariel wasn't really sure if she could change when like this. "Well I'm here because of the Spirit magic. I dont want to know what happens if I change while I'm in here."

This could get ugly quick so she decided to try and locate Karn. She heard his voice but he seemed to be doing a good job of hiding despite the sharing of, well, everything. It could even be a good way to connect with Karn and better express why he shouldn't give up. "Karn..."

Edo-Karn rolled her eyes but decided to for now push her focus on the voices tot e side as they chattered away noisier then a banshee.

As Ariel spoke out to the original owner of the body, there was little to no answer among the chatters of other voices but after a long moment the same quiet voice spoke again. "What is it Copycat? You should probably be trying to get of here instead of talking." he said softly.

"I would love to get out, but I don't think I can. She probably has to be asleep for me to get in or out. This magic hasn't always made the most sense to me." Indeed, when they were awake they didn't seem to be able to do much. Though perhaps there was a way to find a little more quiet. Focusing as best she could Ariel tried to slip to the back of everything. Maybe it was because she wasn't just a hallucination but Ariel managed to join Karn away from the others. They were still there though, she could feel them. But it felt more distant.

Was it really a good idea to go deeper into the unknown? Hard to tell, but she could get a better sense from Karn this way. Which could either be good or bad. There was always the potential that Karn could drag her down with him. But Ariel felt confident in herself. The positive was meeting the negative and there was no way to really tell what the result would be. "Hello again. Sorry about earlier. I didn't mean to bring up bad memories."

The blonde male stayed silent for a moment again as Ariel's presence drew closer to him, deeper into the body. Quite the possibly dangerous move for a currently trapped soul. "It's alright... You are bound into our bad memories anyway if you are in here. The other me is doing a good job to hide hers though." he answered softly. So softly he just sounded like a child. Tired. Emotions spiked suddenly. It was like a crashing wave as sudden annoyance, and anger bubbled within the stomach. Spreading over the body like a wildfire that caused the shoulders to quake. Then another wave of just sadness. The heart feeling like lead and the stomach twisting in nauseating pain.

"Though even she can't completely control the human emotions." he said, a little strained from the sudden emotions his counterpart had. He focused what he could see from this bodies view and spotted Sasha and Lazarus before they left.

Ariel felt the emotions wash over her. This definitely was not a pleasant experience. Unfortunately it was likely to continue given the coming conversation. Ariel took a seat. Or as much as one could in a none existent world. After a few moments she looked at Karn again. "Well, since we're both stuck here maybe this is a good opportunity to talk. We never really got the chance to get to know each other all that well."

Ariel didn't really get the chance to think about things before memories of herself just came out. This whole sharing thing was difficult to keep a grasp on. Most things were to ne expected. Growing up with her parents, her father teaching her to fight. Normal stuff. And them in the more recent past her magic suddenly cropped up and chaos ensued. Nearly burning down the house, leaving home, joining Phoenix Wing, the nearly constant personality changes. Hell, getting kidnapped and brought to games to have her magic experimented with. In a short amout of time Ariel's life was turned upside down with no end in sight.

Edo-Karn would likely find the latter part interesting as it showed that Ariel's magic seemed to be evolving over time. Going beyond just changing the color of her hair, eyes, and clothing. It could actually change physical properties of the girl and if the Green magic was any indication, be directed.

Karn pushed his counterpart's emotions aside as he listened to the visitor within his body. It was true they hardly spoke before. Brief hello's but that was about it. In this current situation they were in, there really wasn't any better way to get to know one another, as Ariel proves as her memories come flowing in. She seemed to have a nice childhood... and he couldn't help his own memories flow through into memory. The first was of his mother, a beautiful angelic small woman with long flowing blonde hair and emerald green eyes. He was practically the spitting image of her. He remembered helping her cook as a child, then going fishing. Then the storm. Their boat being capsized. Remembering the feeling of his mouth being engulfed in water, his lungs shriveling as they filled with seawater. Yet he desperately tried to stay above the raging water's surface and try to swim to his mother, but the last he saw was her arm reaching out of the water before a large wave came crashing over them. And when he woke up on the beach, he was alone. Crying. The child feebly calling for his mother. Memories of his father and brother came to mind. How his brother acted as he never was there, or his father who be angry with him, blaming him for everything. Calling him names. Useless. Despicable. Monster. Murderer. Then purposely trying to drown him in buckets of water as punishment, to remind him what he did to his mother.

Then Karn discovered his magic, turning into a cat to hide from his father. The memory of his magic being discovered and his cat's feeble form being thrown into a tied bag and thrown into the ocean. How he lost himself and just acted like a cat for a month after clawing himself out. Never knowing what this magic was and forgetting he was a human. Then Ru, a Eastern Chimera finding him, picking him up and carrying him to Rian. Happier memories played within his mind, him being a cat and chewing on Ru's ear or trying to bounce on the large tail. The beast trying to teach Karn to swim, to fight, to hunt, to respect nature and all life. Rian teaching him the art of transformation, and several times scolding him when he acted foolish. Rian telling him the virtues of being in a wizard guild. Like having a family. Full of friends. But they disappeared one day, and he traveled to find Phoenix Wing.

He ran into Trinity, battled a Vulcan, met Maddox and Mayt. Took part in helping them get the book from the magic council. Met Mithera and remembered how excited he was to meet a dragon. Even though she was a transformation wizard similar to himself. He met Zero and Zenoram in the mountains and met a real dragon. Hemlock. The memory of having to fight against the dragon came to mind, and the memory of Hemlock's death. As well as those people who controlled the dragon Damian killed. Then after finding a job letter from his brother and taking it alone. Transforming into Maddox as a disguise. Fighting the people on the ship before discovering the skinned form of Ru and going berserk.

So full of utter rage. Turning more animal then human and sinking his teeth into his opponents and ripping them apart. Yet keeping them alive. Alive but maimed. The taste of blood and flesh in his mouth. His animalistic side satisfied, yet his human emotions feeling guilty. Then going home and yelling and snarling at his blood relatives. Before going home. Crawling into his underground home and sleeping on the skin of his dead adopted father. There were memories of him spending time with Nolan... but also memories of dying. The feeling of dying. Over. Over. And over again. For so long that he just felt tired. Dying... then magic forcibly keeping him alive. He was ready to lie down and just let it end. For it just to be over. He was happy. Happy he knew the Guild. But he was tired.

Then the night Edo-Karn was forcibly shoved in this body, keeping him alive. Her soul felt so warm. So very warm and comforting. And a part of him wanted to keep her chained here so he'd never have to let go of that warmth.

"It really is too bad... we haven't gotten a lot of time to talk. A lot of things seem to happen and time seems to just race by." Karn said softly.

Edo-Karn indeed perked a bit as Ariel's memory flashed within her mind, lips pressing together at the thought of the strange magic. Eyes narrowing as the voices in her mind then went on about the matter.

"Telling you.... should just experiment on her... might be a key way to get you home." Pen pointed out but the blonde just gave a annoyed grunt.

Ariel hugged her arms as the memories passed across to her. It was really hard to tell the passage of time like this. But like watching a movie she'd seen most of the major events in Karn's life. She felt fear, sadness, grief, and even anger. But the Spirit personality didn't have much capacity for those emotions so they passed quickly. If Ariel wasn't stuck like this she surely would have cycled through several colors. But it this case it was probably helpful that she couldn't.

Taking a breath out of habit she sighed a little. "Your counterpart told me a little about what had happened. But I didn't realize..." Stopping for a moment Ariel composed herself. She had to think about what she was going to say next. Karn had basically just revealed his deepest, most painful memories, even if he didn't really have a choice. It was clear that she was processing the information because it took her a long time to say anything. "I understand now how you could blame yourself. You and your mom went out on the water because you wanted to go. And your father and brother blamed you and told you it was your fault. That you were worthless and the reason for everything that happened." Letting go of her arms she moved over to Karn. "They said it so much that you started to believe it. They told you those things because they wanted you to give up. They wanted to break you and your spirit. They aren't your father or brother as far as I'm concerned. And you can't tell me that I don't understand because I just felt it and saw it all." Ariel sounded sure of what she was saying.

Before Karn could protest she hugged him and wouldn't let go. "You can't blame yourself for what happened. You couldn't have known about the storm or stopped what would happen. You can't hope to save others when you won't save yourself. Clinging to the lies that were heaped on you. Rian and Ru loved you and cared for you. Ru kept you alive hoping you would realize the truth. I'm sure of it. I know you gave up a long time ago, but I want to ask you one thing. What would someone that truly cared for you want? What would your mother want for you?" This was likely to be very hard on Karn no matter what answer he came to. She took someone that was the closest to him, that had been ripped away, and thrust her right in his face. It was a drastic question, but Ariel felt it needed to be asked. She braced herself for the coming thoughts and emotions.

Karn listened to Ariel, frowning as her words rang in his ears, his eyes fixating on his feet as she worded how his family treated him. It really was unfortunate to share so much without meaning to. Without even having to say a word. Showing just how pathetic he really was. He opened his mouth to reply but stopped as his guildmate suddenly embraced him so tightly. He could feel his body tremble, feeling so hurt, and so lost. Perhaps some anger that she was doing this to him. Reminding him of everything and shoving it in his face again. Closing his eyes as he felt the urge to just break down again. Curl up in a little ball and cower in the darkness. Slowly he shook his head, as he just looked away, lips trembling before firmly biting them with his fangs.

"They would want me to live... but what's the point? I'm sick of it. I'm not like my counterpart. I can't keep getting up when everything is ripped from me. I can't keep trying only to see it fail. How can I when everytime... everyone around me just dies while I am left behind? Momma..... Father.... Brother... Rian... Ru... Hemlock... even the other me suffer because of me. I'm not strong... I can't keep going. It hurts too much and I'm tired of feeling it all the time. I'm tired of drowning." Karn said softly, choking out a sob.

No amount of preparation could brace Ariel for the raw emotion that she felt now. Karn was broken, in pieces from the heart wrenching events of the past. And now he just wanted it to end. At first she held on trying to be strong but eventually she let go and stared for a few moments. Her expression was distant as if she were looking through Karn as something else. Eventually she slumped down to the ground.

This venture to talk to Karn was probably a huge mistake. Ariel felt like she was being crushed down. She barely had the fortitude to comprehend what was going on. Her Spirit magic began to show its true form as Ariel regressed into a little girl. If not for her actual age this would be the natural appearance of her Spirit magic. Young, innocent, and naive. Overwhelmed she began to cry which surely did not help the situation. Seemingly having forgotten she noticed Karn in front of her. Scooting over she hugged his leg weakly. She cried until it seemed to work its way out of her system. Sniffling she glanced around trying to remember what was going on. Karn was the only familiar thing around her.

Karn frowned as his Guildmate started to sob, break down with him and regressed to a child. He sniffles and choked out a sob as he hugged her leg and he knelt down and embraced her. Holding her in a crushing hug as his emerald eyes continued to fill with tears. He couldn't help it. It was just... So sad. He drug Ariel into this as well, and she shouldn't have to feel the pain he felt. Honestly, it felt like they were both lost crying children in this dark place.

"Hey you two. Calm down and breathe. I can hear you." Edo-Karn's voice spoke as she thought within this body's mind. Feeling their overwhelming emotions, yet her voice was calm. And sounding a bit kinder and soothing then before.

Karn choked out another sob and rubbed his eyes. "I-I can't. I'm not strong... It hurts... I'm not like you... I can't keep getting back up when I get knocked down.... I just... I can't." he sobbed.

There was silence for a moment before Edo-Karn spoke up again. "Listen. Everyone is not as different as they think they are. Life will knock you on your ass. One way or another, sooner or later. You will make mistakes, some things will be your fault and some will just be a accident. It hurts. And it is okay to cry, to feel sad, to regret. Everything feels like it's horrible, that there is no point to keep walking, to keep getting up. Bad things happen and sometimes there is no fixing it. But it makes you appreciate all the good things that happen. Even if they may seem small.... They feel wonderful. And I know, you have lovely memories too. Don't let the bad, overshadow precious memories. But, it's okay to cry. You don't need to force a smile, you don't need to pretend or fake happiness just to make others feel better. The reason I keep walking, is to make more happy memories. Even if I have to have several bad times. It's the hope to make more happy memories with my friends that matter. And your friends will understand too." Edo-Karn thought softly.

Karn sniffles a bit, rubbing his eyes and his body shook, gently holding Ariel close.

Holding onto Karn, Ariel listened to what Edo-Karn had to say as well. It sounded somewhat like what she had said earlier. But right now it didn't really matter to her. She was too caught up in Karn's memories and emotions to recognize it. But it seemed that she'd accepted them as her own on some level. She clung to Karn and hid her face. "S-she's right. You can't give up. You can make new memories, better ones." Leaning back so she could see Karn's face again her eyes were still filled with tears. "It's weird. I feel like I've known you forever. Like your family. No matter what happens I'm glad I was able to get to know you." She manage a smile and gave Karn a loving hug.

Even though Ariel seemed to be feeling better she didn't change back to her normal self. But she was getting over the barrage of emotions. Warmth seemed to come back to her and she hoped Karn could feel it. There still was no telling what Karn would do. She knew that there was still a chance he might not change his mind. But she was being honest, not that she had much of a choice. This definitely wouldn't be an experience she would ever forget.

Karn listened to the little girl version of Ariel, frowning as he closed his eyes, body shaking still like a cat that was caught out in the rain. "Thank you... But... I don't know..." he whispered softly. He just... Felt so broken. And it was warmer and safe in here, he didn't want to leave it.

"Karn. If you do not get back on your feet, you will lose everything. Your soul, your existence, your memories, your friends. And if you don't fight, I will. And if it means that I have to take everything you don't want to fight for, then I will. I will not hesitate to take your life, your memories, your family, if you don't fight for it. I will do everything I can to get back home and to my family but I cannot live for you. You can only live for you and what you want. I would prefer, if we can coexist peacefully." Edo-Karn spoke, her voice firm yet soft. A warning, yet still held a gentleness to it.

Blinking the blonde crowned as he thought about it. Hugging Ariel close.

After a while Ariel began to return to her normal self. She embraced Karn and tried to calm him. "I won't let you be alone again, Karn. I know your pain, shared your memories. I know you're afraid of losing more. But you aren't the only one. Especially not now. You can't lose anyone, well neither can I. And that includes you and your counterpart. You both mean a lot to me. And I don't really care if it's because of a fluke. You and I aren't just guildmates or friends. I said it before, we're family. And I'll do anything for family. You know me just as well as I know you. You need a reason to keep going, do it for me. You need strength then have some of mine."

Before Karn could protest Ariel had made up her mind that no matter what she was going to do her best to save him. Unlike with Ru though she didn't just want to force it on him. There was another reason she was doing this now though. Like with all of her magics each had a finite amount before she couldn't really use it. They all could likely feel it. Ariel couldn't get out still but it probably would mean she would be less active. And unlike Edo-Karn she had more autonomy to share thanks to her magic. That being said it would put her in a vulnerable position opening up further to let Karn take some of her will to live. Regardless she did it and hoped that Karn would accept her plea and offer. Glowing a pale teal color she held out a hand for Karn to take and make the exchange.

Karn looked at Ariel for a moment, rubbing his eyes then looked down at his hands. His eyes hurt, probably red and raw from his tears and the constant rubbing. They hurt a little. He felt such uncertainty, and he was afraid. Out there it never felt safe... in here it felt warm. And it was selfish, but he liked having other souls in here, trapped with him. It felt warm and comforting and a part of him just wanted to keep them here as long as he can. Like a stubborn child unwilling to part with their favorite stuffed teddy bear or something. He raised his hand a little hesitantly before shrinking it back to him, repeating the process a bit before shaking.

"...What about what may happen in the future? You know what happens to a slayer sooner or later right? I might turn into a Chimera...... And I might not be the same... And Ru is gone... he can't help me and I don't know of any others.. Would you still be there.. to be my friend?" Karn asked softly.

It didn't take a special connection to tell that Karn was afraid. Focusing her magic in one hand she used the other arm to hug Karn. "I'll be your friend no matter what. Even if it doesn't seem like it, what with my personality being all over the place at times. What you are won't change that either. If you become a Chimera then I'll be sure to do my best to keep you yourself." The whole changing thing had her a bit worried as well. Not for Karn, but herself. Like the rage from the Blood magic. If that was any indication other personalities could be just as bad or worse.

"You probably know this by now, but before all of this your upbeat attitude helped keep the better sides of me around. My magic an emotions change so easily and I really don't know how to control it. This doesn't have to be one sided. You can still help people in ways you don't expect." She offered the hand that held the magic again and smiled softly. "I still want you to choose, Karn. I don't want to force it on you, I can't decide for you. But if you do decide to fight then can we agree to help each other?" For not she tried to ignore the commotion going on from the Magic Games event. Both she and Karn would probably be helpful in this situation, as they actually knew more about magic. But that had to wait. In her mind it would all be for naught if she couldn't convince Karn to continue on.

Karn looked down as he listened to his Guildmate speak, raising his head a little as he was embraced. His body trembled nervously as her emerald eyes widened ever so softly, nervous and scared but there was a slight glimmer that had been gone for some time. Hope. Even if he ended up a complete beast one day, it was nice to know... that even then he'd have a friend who wanted him around. And he felt happy.... to know that Ariel felt that way about him. That he was somehow useful... despite how much it felt like all he could do was fail. Over and over. And maybe she was right. Maybe he could help someone out there. He was afraid of messing up again, hurting someone again and failing them, but... maybe if he could help someone... if he was useful to at least one person out there. It would be okay. It would be okay to rely on his friends.

Slowly, with a hesitantly nod, he reached out to the offered hand, gingerly grasping it acceptingly. "....okay..." he said softly.

When Karn took Ariel's hand she used the remaining amount of her magic to give a boost to the spark of hope she just started. "Thank you Karn." It seemed that things outside were getting pretty hectic. It was a bit harder ignore with the pain coming in but thankfully Ariel had accomplished at least part of her goal. Though she did get a bit of the negative feelings in exchange. But it seemed that her time here had run out. Panny was using some magic to put Karn to sleep. With all her magic used up that would mean Ariel was about to head back to her own body. "I'll be back when I can. You all get along. I'll be watching the game." Karn fell asleep and Ariel vanished as she was pulled back to her body.

When Ariel's soul reached her body she woke suddenly. For a moment she was in shock, having just had another person's life dropped into her head. The Spirit magic spent for a while she switched to Water magic. Leaning over the bed she held her head in her hands for a while while everything sank in. Her head hurt from her body having slept so long. She wanted to be in a better mood but what she took from Karn in exchange would probably leave her feeling sad for a while. But that was the cost for helping a friend.

After a while she picked herself up and got dressed. This was going to be a rough morning. Then she remembered that the Karns were currently fighting in the magic games. She wanted to be there whenever they got out. Maybe Karn would actually show himself again. Maybe that was hoping for a bit much. But whatever. She hurried off to the games and entered the Phoenix Wing stands.

"Damning my logic won't do you any favors. You're just mad cause I'm right." Joshua said, dismissing his sword before he began heading out. "Still, you need to stop being so pessimistic about this. I understand that you're scared of Jack and possible scared of your powers now. That fear is good but don't let it consume you. Trust me, I've been there."

"More candy?" Elyse asked before running over to Rose and dragging her mother over. "Jamie said she get more candy."

"You think that hurt? That was nothing compared to things I've been through before.." Amelia said, A kind smile on her face.

"This girl is tougher then she looks. But that toughness does hide a certain fragility." Lucus added

Pyrrha's eyes narrowed as Zephyr charged her. Once he was near her, she grabbed his arm before grabbing his head and slamming him into the ground. Then Zephyr would only get a few seconds before Pyrrha unleashed a torrent of flame to send him through the floor and out of the arena.

"If I said yes?" Aria asked Jack, her expression never changing as she raised a hand. This one, she was prepared to fight.

Kaitlyn DeRoe | Domus Flau
@Oblivion666

Kaitlyn was enjoying the games as she watched from the stands with her usual happy expression. As she was about to reach towards her giant bag when someone appeared beside her. Once she heard the request for a fight Kaitlyn jumped out of her seat with glee and clasped the woman's hands with a sudden superhuman squeeze. "SURE! Watching the first event today is already getting me pumped with the idea of participating. Of course I can't really join them since I'm not in any of their guilds, but a battle with someone is still delightful idea." She freed the wizard from her grasp and spun around as she grabbed the doll that stood out from her bag. "Okay Dru, I'll be away for a bit, but I'm sure you'll still enjoy the game while away... and I promise not to cause too much trouble by myself. Oh! And I didn't forget this time about proper introductions."

The Saint spun around and faced the stranger again with a cheery face. "I'm Kaitlyn DeRoe, but I'm sure you already knew that. And this is Dru." She held Dru in front of the stranger, but the doll simply had its head flopped down with silence. "Okay fine, I'll stop embarrassing you. But at least I tried to make some proper introduction from what you thought me."Once Dru was back on the bag and faced watching the games, Kaitlyn clapped her hands together in excitement. "So where do you want our battle?"

Zephyr Hardt

Just as he was nearing the girl, that cloaked figure from before was approaching him, causing his attention to slip away from Pyrrha. This proved to be the wrong choice, as when he looked back he saw himself being slammed to the ground. He saw the flames being charged and Zephyr wasted no time in revving his hands and skidding along the ground to avoid it. "Awesome! Almost had me there Hot shot." Zephyr said smiling before switching to Echo once more and looking at Thor. "Die is pretty mean to say ya know..." Zephyr mumbled before looking at Pyrrha and sent his punches through the air sending shock waves from his hands towards Pyrrha

@liferusher
Malice Hardt

Just like that the two that were coming at her changed their minds. Which of course didn't really bother her anyway, fighting two S class wizards wasn't really ideal to her right now. What was ideal was Thor being distracted by her brother which left the hooded figure wide open. With the birds she had that didn't get fried, she sent them in to bomb dive the electricity mage.

@Expolar
Hikage

And she heard her hand crack a bit. Hikage blinked at the rather odd grip this woman had but smiled back at her, happy she shared her enthusiasm. Of course she seemed a little odd with the whole talking to this Dru doll she had, then again it could have been a magic of here to talk with inanimate objects. Then the possibility of her just being childlike and thinking it was her best friend came to mind as well. Oh well this was cute in a way as plenty of kids back at the house did the same thing.

She would introduce herself and Dru to which she smiled and waved at Dru. "Miyu Sindal." A fake name, but when your profession is killing people, you don't tend to be honest on what your name is. She tapped her chin thinking about it. Forest was out due to a giant bone thing still being there. "How about just outside the city? That way no rune knights or anyone else gets the wrong idea and tries to stop it?"

Grant Vale -- Magic Games Event
(Swear Warning!)

Grant squeezed his eyes for a short moment as pain enveloped him again. He had to give some credit, Karn wasn’t stupid. Neither was Penny, but they still didn’t know the full extent of his powers, and he wasn’t going to surrender this easily. He rolled his shoulders. He was feeling himself become sleepy, but Penny was right there. He’d rub his temples, trying to keep his eyes open. Ugh, this bitch is insufferable, he thought, trying to figure out how to deal with her. ”Like I believe you’ll stop the song if I give up the only advantage I have over you. I originally planned to offer you third place, but you’ve.. *Yawn* Annoyed me a tad much for that at this point.”

He’d stretch, definitely looking tired. He’d rub his face before suddenly flipping his knife towards her. It wasn’t well-aimed, or well placed. Chances were the handle would just bounce off her harmlessly. It’d be covered in the blood from his hand however. ”Jeez… I’ve never felt so lethargic in my life,” he’d murmur, backing up a bit from Penny. He wasn’t sure how he was going to fight her in the state he was in, but he wasn’t going to lose this event. That he was sure about.

@Caits@Silver Fox

Serma “Luna” Cathris -- GMG Stadium Hallway
Luna rubbed the back of her head, glancing around for her guildmate, who had abandoned her a while ago. ”U-uhm… I know, b-but, like, I s-still felt bad. I-it was unnecessary to hurt you you like that. Which is what I was apologizing about… So… T-truce? I guess? I-I don’t know… I never really thought about my apology beyond what I would say…” Luna would look down, a bit, a blush rising to her cheeks. Truthfully, Amelia kind-of freaked her out, but she wasn’t going to admit that in front of the girl. Not only would it be rude, but it made her feel funky thinking about it.

Trinity Stratos and Nightshade Sylphium

It wasn't exactly easy keeping up with Kracko, but Lucius had tricks of his own for traveling quickly. The man seemingly jumped from invisible platforms in the air, following a distance behind the arc of electricity that was his guildmate. He just hoped he was far enough behind her that she couldn't detect him.

~~~
Trinity was trying to figure a way out of talking to this reporter when a jolt of lightning landed on the roof above, and then promptly bounced away. The minstrel grew weary, nudging Fleo with her shoulder. "That was transportation magic. The girl who let me go..." She glanced at Fleo, vaguely concerned, when she looked back up at where the magic had been. "What's she doing here?" The troubadour frowned softly to herself before she spotted Ariel moving through the streets?
"Fleo. Isn't... Ariel supposed to be back at the Guild? Because her magic would get all sorts of wacky with all this other magic flying around? Why is she here?" She thought for a moment, not liking it. "She probably needs to speak with Jamie, Jarvis, Penny, or Damian. Except for Penny, they've had a bad habit of being indisposed lately, I think I've noticed. And Penny's fighting right now." Trinity only had to consider it for a moment, before she saw it as an opportunity. "We did a bang-on job as a team last time, let's see if we can help her out." With a grin, Trinity went to leave, but caught sight of the reporter she was about to ditch. "Watch my fight, and talk to me after. Whenever they put me in..." She turned to Fleo, spinning as she trotted herself up to a conservative run. "Let's go."
As they left the reporter, Lucius passed overhead. He spotted Trinity, but he continued on, knowing that he should keep his watch on Kracko right now. A thousand enemies outside the house and all that. Though Trinity did not notice, Jasmine did. Her nose was telling her to follow the mysterious pair... and she always followed her nose.
Angelo nodded at Amaya knowing that despite what Angelo did to Jackie he really did like her and he didn't want anything more to happen to her because of what Angelo did. Then Angelo groaned a little when he said he's been their before. Does he honestly not get that Angelo knows he has said this before. He appreciates the sentiment but honestly how was that supposed to help alleviate what fear he has about going to see a pissed off guild master. Angelo was scared that jack would kill him on sight then he was nervous about if he didn't kill Angelo then what would he say, hey sorry for putting your guild member in a coma? Angelo was seeing so many ways this could go wrong he didn't know what would go right. "If something goes wrong though it will be your fault im telling you that now so that master Jamie doesn't think I came up with this idea if things go belly up" Angelo said with a sigh walking behind him
@Caits
With Mark he was flying towards master Jamie by now mark memorized her scent and as he flew through the hallways leaving onlookers perplexed he got to the arena and stood on a railing near the roof to look for the master. so he could deliver the note that Angelo put on his leg...
I looked down at the distinctly feminine voice, because it is, without any lies on my part, always a girl who this happens with—
Ascetic Arts:
(The 108 Skills of A Loner):
Confrontation Buster Series: Stink-Eye.
—and affixed her with a deadpan stare. One of my specialties for warding off people who felt like being shitheads first thing in the morning.
Not that I agree with the common assumption that grouchy, morning me is any more or less repulsive than my usual self, or that any of my selves really are at all (I especially think my cleaned-up self is dashing as can be), but, hey; I've got a weapon I don't always like, yet it still works.
That'd be a dangerous line of thinking for someone like Harken. Another of my admirable traits: I would never act upon my evil ambitions if I had them. I always get chastised and reprimanded by those around me for hating work, but the joke's on them. My low-energy sensibilities and emphasis on efficiency are arguably some of the most effective weapons I have from turning to villainy, since even if my self-awareness should falter, planning a massacre for a massacre's sake would be boring, pointless, and stupid. As for the girl standing at a whooping clavicle height—
No dice. She wasn't buying it at all. Like she didn't even register my patented glare, my indomitable "Stink-Eye". Or, for that matter, anything besides the crown of my head, as opposed to my eyes, nose, or anything that could really be called my face. Just staring right in my direction.
Rather, looking. I noted there wasn't any sense of focus with her gaze up.
No focus.
Which, to use a term this girl wouldn't be able to appreciate, put things into perspective for me.
"No. You are, though."
Two statements of fact. Them being such, I spoke flatly and with nothing overly acerbic.
For me.
