@CaitsAfter being bedridden for one and a half weeks, recovering from the Dragon Job and illness, Karn spent the last few days talking with fellow Guildmates but mostly stuck close to Zenoram. At the Guild, he listened to the announcements Jarvis had and chatted with Trinity about the excitement with the games. The transformation wizard then went to talk with Zenoram when the Poison Dragonslayer entered the Guild. Asking if him and Zero were alright and feeling concerned over them. Zero was still remaining silent, much to Zenoram's displeasure. They talked of the games and Karn explained the situation with the games and Damian's announcement of killing people and growing up as a child soldier. Karn greeted Mithera as she joined them, happy to see she learned how to talk in her small dragon form.
Looking at the Job Board, Karn saw a particular job that caught his interest. It was a job to get a rare item back from thieves. But what caught the blonde's attention wasn't the description or reward, but the requested. Erik Arikalia. Karn's older brother. Feeling a sense of longing to help his blood family, Karn excused himself from Zenoram and Mithera. He greeted Mayt and Maddox, stating he was borrowing Maddox's form before leaving the Guild to travel to Hargeon Town.
Taking flight in the air as a bird, Karn soon arrived to his destination which was a large mansion. A butler of the house answered the door and gave a Maddox disguised Karn instructions of the thieves before shooing him off. Flying to find the ship carrying thieves, he caught wind of a familiar scent. Ru's scent. In which case he landed on the thieves ship.
Despite trying to sneak, he was soon caught by the thieving crew with the leaders Narisa the Familiar Wizard and Tracile the Steel Wizard. Karn then discovered that these thieves bosses often collected rare valuable things. Slayers being one of them. Capturing Slayer Lacrima and even living people in order to add to their collection.
Getting into battle, Karn eventually managed to defeat the entire crew before he followed the scent of Ru. In which he discovered a large box, and he found Ru. However, all that was left of Ru was the great beast's skinned pelt. At first, Karn denied the truth, utterly distraught as he picked up the massive fur before he finally lost it. Rage erupted and his Eastern Chimera Slayer magic went berserk. Golden flames enveloping his body and burning everything around him. Soon catching the ship on fire. Running back up to the deck, he grabbed the two leader's throat. Demanding answers and demanding who killed his adoptive beast father.
They claimed they didn't know however, and despite the threats Karn made in killing them, he ended up no. Digging his teeth into just below Tracile's shoulder, he hit the entire arm right off. Gulping it down and crunching flesh, blood and bone between his teeth as he devoured the limb. Karn did heal the serious open wound, before warning the two that if he ever saw them hurting his friends, he would make them wish they were dead before chucking them back on land.
After that, the ship finally fully collapsed from being engulfed in fire, forcing Karn to fall into the water in which he lost consciousness. Waking up on the beach, he found he was all alone. Truly and utterly alone and a utter failure and worthless. He stayed there, hugging Ru's fur and sobbing for who knows how long.
Afterwards, he confronted his blood family, demanding to know how they got Ru but not a lot of leads were discovered. Choosing not to return the rare item which was Ru's skin, Karn ended up threatening his own family and stealing Ru's fur before heading back to Magnolia.
When he returned home, he set Ru's fur in his room and soon found a odd dracocat creature that lead him to a magic mirror. Leading him to a magical place that seemed to be a training ground constructed by Ru and Rian. Afterwards, he returned to the Guild. Before he could inform Jarvis of his faliure, Nolan asked for Karn to join him on a two month training session for the games.
Karn agreed, quickly going home to write a letter informing what he was doing so his roommates would know and him and Nolan went to a place called Yokai Island to train for the next two months.
