At least Gabriel fully acknowledged and understood the significance of permanently marring someone's face with broken glass, thus proving that rash and violent action without regard for consequences can cause very bad things to happen, right? Wait, no. He didn't notice at all, much less feel bad about. All he noticed was Nero's attack, and not the brutal and agonizing injury that precipitated it.

Fortunately I can work with that, as it further frames Nero as an abused victim, albeit with some major issues, and Gabe as a self-righteous meanie. Who's the monster now? Bwahaha

According to the vet she had worms littered in her body and has a major liver infection.

The vet doesn't want to get your hopes up, they don't want to risk being sued for telling you "She'll be fine!" and then she dies. It's just their way of protecting their butts.
