Hmm good one. I quess you can say staying in there forever is possible. I never really thought about it but there would be two options. Or you can keep painting food and water or your just in the painting and dont need anything

I would assume while in the painting you are in a state that doesn't requite food or water. You're in something like a magic pocket dimension.
