Since it's been so quiet for a while, i thought i'd start a discussion.
How did everyone start with this RP business? I myself, started RPing a year ago, totally by chance.

I consider myself a pretty fluent English speaker. I'd been studying English for about 11 years and last year I managed to get the CPE with an A. My teachers over the years always told me that my essays/ reports/letters/proposals etc they make you write there were excellent and asked me if i write on my free time and to their surprise I always said no. The thing is, I never really "studied" English like most foreign students do. I consider myself self-taught. I watched A TON of movies. With and without subtitles. I searched the internet for practically anything. A word i didn't know? Google. A phrase that i had difficulty remembering? Google. I payed attention to class too but I was really lazy when it came to doing homework [still am]. All those years of "studying" to say, resulted in me being literally a walking dictionary ¬.¬ . That's where my inner grammar nazi comes from as well. Since I know a stupendous amount of words and how to spell them, I always get a little irritated when people spell something wrong.

Well, after i finished my studies I thought to myself "Ok, now that you have finished, what will you do with all this knowledge?". I started writing short stories on my own but I quickly got bored with It. I wanted interaction. To be surprised by something unexpected. If everything came from inside my head then why would I write It down if they were already in there. Too much hassle really. So I searched around and stumbled upon the RPing section of the Minecraft forums. I didn't even know that you could roleplay like this. I only knew of tabletop rping. Therefore you can imagine my surprise. It was exactly what I wanted and after some browsing, I found a proper rping forum, RPG. I settled here and have been rping here since Sep 2012.

Well...I started roleplaying after reading book two or three of the maximum ride series. Where it directed me to the site max-dan-wiz (well that's what it was called when I left) I went there interested and found roleplaying forums. I started there, and when i grew tired with a simple reply such as "okay" I then went to a site called the shadow forum. There I learned about the different types of roleplaying, but due to creative differences with another roleplayer I decided to leave and ended up here (on the old site) last year. I followed the site here, and...well. I've been roleplaying for...oh. Close to eight years now I think. I do it because I enjoy it, and like making up new characters and stories and enjoy the interaction.

I'm a shocking speller I know, but sometimes I'll write a word and I'll think what the bloody hell does that mean and how does it fit into the sentence? So I look it up and I think wow. My own literacy skills have improved through these forums, and...I known never going to be a writer, but doing this makes me happy,
And that's all that matters.

Now I'm on two different roleplay sites, including this one, and I love it.

Wow, seems rather extensive. I picked up online roleplaying two years ago on the Starcraft2 battle.net forums. A few months after that, I found RPG, before that I'd been running my own roleplaying site for about two years prior to that. Over all, I've been roleplaying online for four or five years now. Table top for about two.

Magic: Kyo summons inanimate objects, the more dangerous the object the more energy it requires. She will accidentally summon objects if startled.

History: Kyo's father died shortly before she was born. She Kyo was raised by a single parent who hated her. Her mother abused her. She blamed Kyo for everything bad that happen. She hit her, burned her, and slashed at her. But, Kyo never complained to her mother. That would only get her mother to hurt her more. Kyo discovered her magic on her thirteenth birthday when her mother snuck up behind Kyo and tapped her on the shoulder. Kyo, who had been surprised, accidentally summoned a frying pan which hit her mother on the head. Her mother was taken to the hospital and upon waking up had no memories. So Kyo was abandoned. Kyo then began to wander the streets trying not to cause trouble.

Personality: Kyo is timid. She doesn't like being the one to make first contact. But she also relaxes very easily.she doesn't adjust to new people well, but she adjust well to new environments.

I started rping about three years ago (Already? dayum.) on Cortex Rp in SCII... About a day before the site went down I joined RPer guild... I also tried to rp on another forum, but It died. So, that's about it.

I guess I'm the newest here seeing that I heard story's of burths RPs (we know each other) and got interestied in cortex roleplay (the SCll map) and decided to try it myself....but something allways got in the way. Weather it was parents or public games that ended to fast (or in one instance me crashing the game by spawning lots and lots of bainlings on accident) I never realy had a long going RP...and the birth came froward once more last year (I think). He had a idea for a roleplay that he was going to host with a bunch of his cortex roleplay buddys...that was on this sight. The RP died prity quickly but it got me invested and I soon became a member of multiple RPs.

WRONG! I was told by Meta about Burth's role-play and decided to join shortly after Meta. Once that role-play died I began to do other role-plays, doing mostly Free with some Casual.

Public Cortex is pretty shitty. Most people have a hard time doing it because of the trolls.

That's a guy who's just a stick up his ass. Trolls...how to explain a Cortex troll....They do things to ruin the game. Spawn in endless mobs to crash or lag a game, repeatedly delete other peoples stuff after they spend forever making it. They do stuff like that.
