When Steve mentioned that her aunt would be his type of lady, it tugged at her heart and her face softened slightly thinking about the loss of her aunt. “I think you’d be her type of guy.” She said in a soft playful manner. “She always liked a man with manners but she passed away. She did live until she was 89 years old so that’s a good span and I’ve never seen someone so happy before they died. She seemed at peace.” A small shrug lifted her tank top covered shoulders before she shook her head. “Sorry. That woman I could talk about for hours.” She said with a laugh as she turned her attention to the radio.

As he said that it was Frank Sinatra, her smile brightened and her blue eyes twinkled with a large unexpected amount of excitement; a complete mood changer for him to even know the name of the singer. “I’m impressed! Most people our age don’t know classic music very well.” She said with a nod as she pressed the button to play the next song once Fly With Me finished. “Well I went to work; and something rather amazing happened.” She began leaning herself back against the couch and gesturing for him to come in so he didn’t feel like she was pushing him out; she enjoyed his company immensely and didn’t want to give off the impression that she didn’t. “One of the higher ups told me that I was doing good work and to keep it up. It’s really the little things you know?” Her bright smile seemed to have trouble fading as she talked about it. “Just to be told that you’re doing a good job from people above you really makes all your hard work worth it and believe it or not… I do work… sometimes…” At the word sometimes she drug it out giving a playful shifty eyes to show she was only kidding.

The song shifted once again to Stangers In The Night and as it did, her body started to rock to the music. Without really thinking she stuck out her hand to him. “Wanna dance?”

Steve smiled and nodded as he continued about her Aunt. Steve was never really close with his family. His dad died when Steve was very little, and his mother was amazing and beautiful, but she died when he was a teenager... He hates to admit it, but he barely remembers much about her anymore. Then as she talked about her job, he listened, and smiled. It was glad to know that compliments said left some people with a good impression. He was happy that she was. Whoever said those words to her seemed to be very important to make her act this way...

As the song changed, he again, didn't know the song, but knew that Frank Sinatra was indeed singing again. He watched the beautiful blonde move to the music, her hips swaying beautifully to the song... And when asked the question, he looked up at her.

"I'm gonna need a rain check on that dance."

" All right. A week next Saturday at The Stork Club."

"You've got it."

"I... This might sound a bit embarrassing, but I don't... know how to dance." He said with a weak smile to her, the face of Peggy in his mind yet again...

"Eight o'clock on the dot. Don't you dare be late. Understood?

You know, I still don't know how to dance.

I'll show you how. Just be there.

"I'd hate to step on your feet." Steve said, now shaking his head a bit but still stepping forward towards her. He was still haunted by the last conversation he had in his time... When he knew what was right and wrong, what to do, where to go, where he knew he had the right partner. And for a while, he was sure he would never find that partner again. He's alone and confused in this world, with so many people relying on him, but he doesn't know what they want from him anymore... But as he stared at Sharon, her arm extended, swaying to the music... maybe this was life actually giving him a break... giving him the right partner for that dance...

A large man his size could either be a really good dancer or have two very left feet. She’s seen it both ways back in high school dance class here she was required to dance with the boys. Which was difficult considering she was always the odd ball out but she had to give it to some of the guys she went to school with; those guys really could dance. Then there was her. For the longest time she had two left feet until she figured out that she could ballroom dance rather easily with the man guiding her. Don’t ask how this happened… but she happens to know that Tony Stark actually knows how to ballroom dance and as much as she didn’t want to admit it; she was kind of impressed.

Her full lips parted letting out a small laugh before curling into a delicate and welcoming smile. “I’ll show you how.” She said softly as she took his large hand in her small one and stepped forward. “And if you’re worried about stepping on my toes than I’ll just have to stand on your feet!” She said with a bright smile up to him. Sliding her free hand gently down his arm she took his other hand and placed it gently on her waist before she rested her hand on his shoulder, her other hand gently holding his. “We’ll start with the basic box step. It’s simple I promise.” Her bright smile and inviting nature made her words hold a sense of truth.

“Trust me, you’ll do great.” Sharon’s voice was encouraging, she believed he could do it because something about him told her that if he really wanted to do something; all he’d have to do is put his mind to it. “So, what you’re going to do is take a step forward with your right foot, then bring your left foot to it. Then step to the left and slide your right foot to meet with your left. Then step back with your left and bring your right foot back, then step to your right and bring your left foot to your right one.” A smile moved across her full lips as she turned her blue gaze from their feet to meet his eyes. Her breathe was a little taken away, even on the boat they weren’t this close and on the couch they weren’t facing each other and here, barely inches separated them and her whole body seemed to want to melt against his. God where we cheeks turning red AGAIN!? Stranger’s in the Night, exchanging glances. Wondering in the Night, what where the chances? We’d be sharing love, before the night was through…. Something in your eyes, was so inviting, something in your smile, was so exciting. Something in my heart, told me I must have you… Frank Sinatra, you’re not helping her keep from blushing at this moment. Fight it Sharon, fight it! Don’t blush he’ll think he’s done something wrong and he hasn’t don’t blush don’t blush don’t blush!

Steve wasn't really embarrassed... It sounded like she wasn't laughing at him not knowing how to dance, but his comments... which made him feel a bit better about it. When she took his hand he followed, and she put his arms in position. He was having an internal struggle. Half of his body wanted to let her go and walk out, deciding to be a blubbering idiot who couldn't let go of something he desired more than anything, while the other one was saying how incredible and sweet Sharon was. Funny, smart, grateful for the smaller and bigger people out there, and she was absolutely gorgeous... He listened to her instructions, remembering the steps as she said it, and it only took one round of explaining before he started to get the hang of it... But if he was his old self, he would have tripped, probably broken his nose, and then taken a nice trip to the hospital.

He swayed along with her, doing his best not to look down at her because he knew that he would get distracted by her, and he would make himself look like a fool. He listened to the lyrics... boy, he could really relate to them right now... He caught a glimpse of her looking up at her, and he looked back down in to her beautiful blue eyes... He wished the glasses were off so he could see just how beautiful they were, but he was by no means not enjoying her this close... And then just as he would have assumed, he accidentally stepped on her foot.

"Oh, i'm so sorry!" he said with an apologetic smile, hoping she wasn't in pain or anything... I mean, it wasn't that hard of a step, and she probably could take it... God Steve, stop overthinking! Think of this as a.... military strategy. It has steps, and technique, a way of doing things... but if you do it right (which you were made to do), it'll be worth it... just like dancing, and just like talking to a girl... But that was easier said than done for him. He would feel a lot more comfortable with a bunch of people shooting at his head.

"This ain't so bad..." Steve said, mostly about the dance, but also about this whole 'getting to know a girl' thing as well, looking back down at her stunning blue eyes.

You’d think he was a little guy with his ability to move so well. Most people had to be on the less-muscular side of things in order to dance as smoothly as Steve did. Huh, very interesting. A smile crawled across her lips as she watched his feet. Soon he seemed to get the steps and everything was going smoothly until she looked up to steal another glance at the gorgeous man and he caught her. Silence between them, only the music echoing around the room as they stared at each other…

That was until a quick pain shot up from her foot, “Whoa!” She said quickly as he stepped on her foot. Luckily for she pulled back rather quickly and he wasn’t stepping hard to begin with. Thank goodness because that could have hurt but, then again, she’s had worse dropped on her toes. Working at S.H.I.E.L.D. means she’s had a lot of people drop things on her, so someone stepping on her toes was not a big deal but she did jump slightly in surprise. “It’s okay Steve really.” She said in a reassuring manner as she teasingly shook out her foot, an overly dramatic look of ‘pain’ on her face before she shot him a cheesy grin and they went back to dancing.

“See you’re getting the hang of it.” She said playfully to him, “Do you want to try a spin and dip? Just hold your hands up and I’ll turn under it than you place your hand and forearm on my back and hold my hand with your other hand and bend my back. Just… don’t drop me, which might hurt.” She said half joking, knowing that if he were to drop her she’d probably hit the floor with a good thud and have a headache. Hopefully he wouldn’t drop her… and hopefully, he’d find something else to do staring into her eyes… maybe, a kiss?

Steve was glad she was alright, and when she assured him, he gave a smile and nod. The dramatic show she put out with her foot made him roll his eyes and laugh. "Alright, I get it, I didn't hurt you too bad, which is good." Steve said, as he gently took her back in dancing position... It was rather nice. Although it was simple, Steve was having a tough time with the foot work, the smell of her perfume, and the way she held on to him... "I think its the teacher. I don't think i'd be this alright at it without your advice." He said, trying hard not to mess up again. When asked if he wanted to "Spin and Dip" he was caught off guard... until he realized she was talking about a dance move (God he was clueless... he did think fondue was another word for.. well, you know...).

He listened to her instructions, and gave an assuring smile. "Don't worry, I got ya." He said, a bit of courage pushing through him. Most people would believe him when he said that... It was probably because he gave off the sense of power and hope. He slowly raised his hands, letting her spin under them, her perfume filling his nose, and as she was done, he put his arm on her back, and leaned forward, letting her do a dip.

For a moment he started in her eyes, giving a grin. "Not so bad..." He said, his eyes traveling to her pink lips, then back up to her eyes... She was beautiful, perfect, and with Frank Sinatra helping him out, he was very tempted to put his lips on hers... He moved his lips closer to hers, keeping her up, cautious on whether he move closer or not... just when his lips were about to touch hers, until a loud alarm went off. Steve jumped a bit, but held on to Sharon, not letting her fall. It was his cell phone... great time to interrupt... He knew it was important. He rarely got calls, but when he did, it was usually Bruce, Tony, Natashia, or Director Fury. "I... sorry but it might... be work." Steve said with a look of apology and embarrassment. He looked at the screen to see the message from none other than Black Widow.

"Hold that thought, I'll be right back." He said, a weak smile on his lips as he walked out of the apartment, and in the hall. "Natashia? Are you alright? What is it?" He asked quietly, pacing the hall. "I think I found someone for you." Her voice said simply. Steve paused for a moment, trying to make sense of what she just said. "What?"

"I think I found you a nice girl. She works at S.H.I.E.L.D. Field operative, loves to kick some ass. Just like you." She said casually. Steve rolled his eyes. For a while Natashia would ask Steve about his love life... and many times he would find something to get away from that conversation. She wasn't someone he wanted to talk about girls to. "Look, Natashia, I appreciate it, but i'm too bus--"

"Enough with that, we both know you have a lot of time now. You even have that list you have that you're going through pretty fast."

"Alright, I might not be as busy... but the last time you did this kind of thing, it didn't end well."

"Steve, I know I have done this a lot.. but you deserve someone, right? And this girl deserves someone too. her name is Sh--"

"Again, I appreciate it, but... I'm alright... I..." He hesitated, then puffed out his chest. "I'm actually, working on getting a date." He said. There was a pause. "You're joking."

"why is that a surprise?"

"No, its not just--Who is she?"

"She moved across the hall from me. All youre getting from me." With that he hung up the phone, sighing. He knew that it was only a matter of time before she did her own little spy work and figured out who it was... Just what he needed.

Steve knocked and made his way back in to the apartment. "False alarm... Just one of those toll free numbers I heard so much about." He said with a smile, hoping she wasn't too mad at him just walking out like that, especially right before something that Steve would have very much enjoyed.

Something about hearing that he had her made her heart jump; she believed it. For the first time in a long time, she put her faith in someone other than Captain America to ‘get her’ (in the manner of keeping her safe). This was a rarity and if anyone knew that, in her brain, she was comparing them to Captain America, they might get a little pig-headed; so it just seemed safe for her to keep that opinion to herself.

Everything seemed to be going well, he was learning how to dance a basic dance and now she was spinning under his strong arm before he placed his hand on her back and slowly dipped her. Her heart skipped a beat as she stared up at the clean cut man leaning over her. Her bottom lip rolled under slightly as she looked up at him, her heart started to pound in her chest as he lowered himself down to her. Her lips puckered slightly ready to receive the kiss, her blue eyes closing as she awaited the gentle feeling of his lips against hers… only to have the relaxed, peaceful, tender and almost romantic moment by a loud alarm going off. When Steve jumped so did she, luckily he had a good enough grip on her that he didn’t drop her.

When he said that it might be work, she gave him a small nod; understanding all too well about how work can call you at any moment and pull you away from things, no matter what you’re doing. “It’s okay,” She said softly as he helped her stand up and pulled out her phone, “My work’s the same way, I can relate.” When he said to hold that thought, her bottom lip curled under as she bit down on it slightly, her cheeks turning a soft pink before she was able to get out the word “Okay.” As he shut the door behind him.

Her hands ran across the top of her head to the pulled back bun before letting out a long breath she had been holding for a bit. Wow that almost happened… would he have actually kissed her? Would their lips have actually touched?! Could it have actually happened?! Her body shivered at the thought of something like that happening, it seemed almost too good to be true! Too bad something had to interrupt it. Her body slid against the back of the couch, hands placing gently on the top of the couch as she waited softly for him.

As Steve walked back into the apartment the song changed to I Wanna Be Loved by You by Helen Kane from the 1920s and her heart nearly skilled a beat as he walked in. If she had planned this it would have been perfect but since it wasn’t plan what does that make this? Perfection without trying maybe? “Oh it happens, I’m not sure how they get cell numbers but I get those phone calls every once and a while… they always seem to come at the wrong times…” The last part of her sentence was rather sheepish, as if she was shy about the fact that something was about to happen. But the twinkle in her blue eyes as she shot her gaze back up to him screamed she would have really enjoyed it, if the biting of her bottom lip wasn’t enough of a clue.

“How was your day today? I told you about mine, tell me about yours.” She asked softly, not wanting to pull him back into dancing again if he didn’t want to, her bare foot traced along the carpet under her feet; she wanted to dance more with him, she wanted to get dipped and possibly kissed but… how exactly do you go back to that?

Steve wanted to take her hands, and go back to the position they were in before he was interrupted. It was ironic how Natashia wanted him to date, while she interrupted his perfectly good chances... He nodded in agreement to her statement. "Never seem to call me when I'm not doing anything important..." Steve said, looking at her... The more he saw her, the more and more he couldn't resist her... even her toes were perfect! When asked about his day, Steve shrugged. "Well I got to visit some friends who I haven't talk to for a bit... I met some people who admired my work... and I got someone's breakfast spilt all over me." Steve gave a smile. "It was a quiet day in my line of work. Usually its more chaotic." Steve took some steps in to the apartment as he talked. She wasn't stopping him from getting closer to her.

"I had to bring home some ah... paperwork home, but I was distracted by some good classic songs." He said, nodding towards the stereo that was now playing a song that was familiar to him. He scratched his head, trying hard not to stare at her. "so on a scale of one to ten... how bad was my dancing?" Steve asked, his lips smiling to reveal his perfect white teeth. "Now be honest, but don't be too harsh, my heart might not take it." Steve said with a laugh.

Sharon’s toe traced along the carpet when he said that they never seem to call when he’s not doing something important. So she was considered important in his eyes, her cheeks flushed a pink color once again before her moved her blue gaze from her feet up to his face. God he was a good looking man, even when he seemed rather embarrassed; which wasn’t something Sharon could figure out. Why would someone like him need to be embarrassed or shy? Most women must throw themselves at him like he was a dog and they were his treats. But sometimes he couldn’t form full sentences and it was adorable.

She nodded a bit as he talked, watching him walk back into the apartment and she giggled softly when he said that someone’s breakfast spilt all over him. “I’m sorry the music distracted you from paperwork but remember, life isn’t all about work.” She said with a vast amount of encouragement, not only was she speaking to Steve but she was also speaking to herself. “Your dancing…” She said, dragging out the statement in a questioning tone before taking a step forward and extended her hand to him again. “I think you need to work on your spin and dip. I think you got cut off because of the phone. Am I right?” Her cheeks stayed a small shade of pink as she held her hand out to him, blue eyes twinkling. Was that a bit too forward? Would he turn around and walk out or… was that okay?

Work was all Steve had. He was literally made to shoot things, and be a perfect soldier... But the more he was here, the more he questioned whether that was a good idea.... But now, with the barefoot blonde holding out her hand, and inviting him to try and kiss her again, Steve was now sure that there might be other things in life besides doing whats good and wrong... He took her hand, and went back in to dancing position. "Alright, lets see if I remember..." He said, doing the dance they did earlier for a little bit, following Sharon and the music as he did it.

He then raised his hand yet again, letting her do a spin underneath, her perfume filling his nostrils yet again. Steve leaned forward, his arm on Sharon's back, and in the same position they were in. "Better?" He asked, a weak smile coming from his lips... Her dark blue eyes looked in to Steve's. This was nerve raking. He was inches from a very beautiful woman's face. The last time he kissed someone (besides Natashia, she didn't really count) was 70 years ago while he was going to jump in to certain death... And now, 70 years later, Steve had the decision to plunge in to a scenario just as scary for him.

He gently pressed his lips to her full ones... And this was much much much better than he expected. He then pulled away, looking at her, expecting to be either slapped, invited to try again, or just simply asked to leave... There was only one that he would really want.

Her heart slammed against her chest as she hold out her hand to him to see if he’d step up to the challenge of attempting to kiss her once again or if that telemarketer call got him out of something he didn’t want to do in the first place. It was a boundary tester, did he want it or didn’t he. Her body shifted as a smile formed along her full lips when he took her hand. That was unexpected and exciting and… as you can imagine, highly welcomed.

Sliding herself into him they danced for a bit and she couldn’t seem to take her eyes off of him. This was the first she had openly stared at him but now she was grinning ear to ear like an excited child. This was awesome and it was really happening, wow! She spun gently underneath him, moving along to Helen gave her more encouragement as he dipped her once again. Could he hear her heart beat? Because she was rather sure she could hear it herself. Would that weird him out that she was so nervous; at least she wasn’t shaking. That would be even more embarrassing. “Not bad, not bad at all. Practice makes perfect and I’d be more than willing to teach you.” She said with a playfully not wanting to give him too much of an ego boost.

When his lips pressed softly against hers, her heart melted; he held her much like someone would a delicate flower, not wanting her to fall but not wanting to squeeze her until her eyeballs popped out of her head. It was hard to believe someone of his size could be so delicate, this in itself was a wonderful sight; and feeling! As he pulled back her eyes slowly flickered open, one hand was free, by her side as he dipped her while the other held onto his other hand. Her hand rose up, gently and slowly traveling along his chest up to his neck and to the back of his head. Careful not to mess up his hair, she stared into his blue eyes and pulled him back down, planting her lips against his once more.

Not bad, eh? He could live with that... After all, it was his first time dancing... ever. After he pulled back, and she opened her eyes, Steve shook his head. "I'm sorry, I don't know what came over me, I--" He was cut off by her hand traveling up his body, it was like his rock hard muscles turned in to a bunch of jello as the touch. He helped her hand lean his body in for another kiss, his eyes closed as he enveloped hers in his... Was he doing this right? he didn't want to be a bad kisser, even if this was his first kiss in many decades! He didn't know what this meant for them. At the moment he didn't really care. He felt like he was betraying her... yet he could hear her voice already. "About bloody time!"

He lifted her back up gently, not breaking the kiss though as he did. To say it was amazing was the understatement. Many girls have tried to get with him, and to kiss him, and he definitely wasn't the person to kiss someone he just met.. but there was something about her that he just couldn't resist... did that make him a bad person? He sure hoped not... He would very much like to spend more time with her, and the kissing was something he only wanted to do with her... Peggy soon left his mind as Sharon entered it... He didnt' seem to mind

There was nothing better than enveloping her lips against Steve’s once again. This can’t be real! You’ve got to be kidding her! He was big and muscly but held her like he was holding a precious gem. He seemed incredibly shy around her and yet was able to talk and joke with her the more time he spent around her, and now they were interlocked in a kiss again. God if this was heaven, she’d be perfectly content.

The day was a pleasant rest of the one; she convinced Steve (which didn’t take much but an ask) for him to stay for dinner. He did, of course, run back to his apartment to grab the next in the Star Wars series to watch and they had a wonderful dinner of classic beef stew and corn on the cob while watching. Would you be surprised to hear that once their food was gone, they were cuddling up on the couch? No you wouldn’t. You probably wouldn’t be surprised to hear that she had pulled his second arm around her so she was settled inside of his arms, feeling more safe then she ever had been. The last thing that happened throughout the night was the kiss good bye at her door. Nah that probably didn’t surprise you either; and it wouldn’t surprise you to find out that she did a happy dance on the other side of the door after they said their good byes. Would it be weird to ask for his cell phone number because they live across the hall? Or would that make her look desperate? Maybe next time.
The following day was an odd one for her. She was technically going to work but she wasn’t actually going to the building. Today was the day that she needed to pick up a canister and return it to S.H.I.E.L.D. How hard could that be?

It was simple, the transaction went off without a hitch and Sharon was on her way back to headquarters. Half of her was curious on if anyone would recognize her in her street clothes with the glasses and high bun on top of her head. Sharon stopped at the courtyard out front of the building. Her blue gaze moved upwards, to her surprise she saw a figure she never thought she’d seen stepping into the glass elevator. That large muscular build and blue and red outfit couldn’t be missed even from her distance. The reflection of his shield gave her a sense of pride and accomplishment, not to mention excitement to think that he acknowledged her recently; yes that was still fresh on her mind.

As the iconic figure in the elevator turn she rose her hand to wave at him only to feel her wrist grabbed in a harsh manner. “What the…” Before she could do or say anymore, another hand rose up and covered her mouth with a piece of cloth. Sharon, being trained as she was, was about to fend off the attackers before once of them kneed her in the stomach, causing her to gasp which forced her to inhale the chloroform and her body began to shut down as her vision became blurry. Her hands fell limp and her body collapse.

“We got the bag, why don’t we leave her?”

“Leverage, bargaining; she might be important.”

“Fine throw her in the van.” Her ears seemed to shut off as her body was lifted into the air and thrown somewhere with a thump, light disappearing and soon she was laying in darkness before silence overtook her and she was out.

Steve didn't dare grasp her tightly, or pull her too close. Again, his habit of respect would always kick in. She was a person just like he was. After the next few moments of kissing (they felt like hours) Steve was asked to dinner. He accepted, but told her that he would have to invite her over so he could make her dinner some time. but until then he ran over to his place to grab the Empire Strikes Back, and together they watched and ate a delicious dinner. Steve remembered beef stew to be much worse than what Sharon made. If people back in 1940 cooked like this, he might have actually buffed up on his own! Once the food was gone, he made sure his teeth were clean of corn or anything else, and once again he took Sharon in his arms. His mind went blank when he felt Sharon pull his other arm from on top of the couch to around her body. He wasn't complaining, or planning to pull it back. He wasn't used to it, but it felt very nice.

When he was leaving, and after he said goodnight and thank you, he stopped about halfway, turned around, and gave her a gentle kiss on her soft lips. It sent another surge of electricity in to him. As he walked across the hall, his tossed his keys up in the air catching them, softly whistling "Strangers in the Night"
Wake up. go for a run. and shower. That's how every morning started with Steve Rogers. What wasn't as routine was a call from Director Fury, asking him to come in. This time, in uniform. He made his way to S.H.I.E.L.D. HQ, and changing from his leather jacket and jeans in to his iconic stars and stripes. Helmet, shield, and all. He walked though the HQ and to the main lobby, and in to the elevator. He sighed and turned around to see a quite attractive woman staring at him... Wait... that was Sharon! What was she doing here? Before he could react to her greeting, he watched in horror to see two men grabbing her and hitting her!

The glass elevator was rising as they were dragging the limp body to the street. Desperate, Steve looked around, pulled off his shield, and crashed through the glass, falling for the floor. He stuck out his shield downward, and as he hit the ground the shield absorbed almost all the impact. He followed momentum, and rolled off smoothly, getting back to his feet. He looked around to see the two men throwing Sharon in to the back of the van, and quickly driving off. No. Not on his watch! he charged after them, leaping over a bench. "Fury this is Rogers. A woman has just been kidnaped. I'm going after them." He said through the built in comms system as he landed on his motorcycle. He didn't have his keys, so he had to hot wire it. It was going to destroy his favorite vehicle, but he soon realized that he would do anything to save Sharon. He sped off after the van, still in his suit, and his shield on his back.

he swerved in and out of traffic to catch up the van. it didn't surprise him to see that gunshots were aimed at his direction. he gave a very sharp turn, his foot sticking out as the now horizontal motorcycle was skidding across the street. He could feel the bullets hitting the shield on his back. It seemed to be working very well... until they hit one of his tires. The motorcycle lost control, and Steve fell off it, rolling, trying to keep his head from hitting the ground as he let momentum take control. He landed on his stomach, his chin and knuckles scratched and his blue eyes stared at the license plate, remembering it instantly, and the direction they were going. If he had to guess, they were going to a dock.

The team didn’t exactly know what they were getting into. Not only did they decide to open fire on Captain America, which every bad guy who’s ever faced him will tell you that’s a horrible thing to do, but they took Sharon Carter, a top Agent at S.H.I.E.L.D. As the blonde came to she found a light over her head, swinging and a few men pacing in front of her. Knowing better than to draw attention to her instantly she moved her wrists to find that she was tied behind her back, her arms pinned between her back and the back of chair, her ankles were tied together as well. Blinking she realized her hair was down and that they had removed to glasses from her face; maybe in an attempt to get her to not ‘see’ them very well. It’s too bad they only made her eyesight sharper.

Blinking again she looked up through her messy blonde hair to see the three men standing in the room talking to each other. As her mental state came to she realized they were talking about the canister she had retrieved but when they realized she had come to, they stopped talking and turned their attention to the blue eyed girl.

“What should we do with her?”

“Kill her.”

“Hold her for ransom.”

“What if she didn’t know?”

“She had to have, why else would she have been taking it from the original target?” Sharon, knowing full well anything she said could be held against her and would, kept her mouth shut.

“She looks better without the glasses.” The muscular brunette said as he closed the gap between them and ran a finger along her cheek, only to have her head jerk away in an expression of dislike. “Oh what’s the matter? Scared of being touched by a real man?”

Weighing her options she gave a snuff of distaste as a response. “Oh she doesn’t like that.”

“Oh she’ll learn to love it.” The man said in a dark fashion as he pulled back from Sharon.

Commotion started outside and a man ran inside saying something about someone being outside most likely looking for the girl. “You, stay in here; protect your new woman.” One of the men said sarcastically to the brunette before the two ran out.

“I have to use the bathroom.” Sharon said as soon as the door shut.

“What?”

“I have to use the bathroom, where is it?”

“I’m not falling for that.”

“Please, I’ll wet myself if I don’t go.”

“Fine then.” The man said in annoyance before he walked over to the corner of the store room and grabbed a bucket; sliding it to her he gave her a smirk. “There.”

“I can’t get my pants off.” She said in a flirtatious tone and as expected the man jumped on the bandwagon to help her. She awkwardly balanced herself on her tied ankles as he started to undo her jeans and pull them down. “My ankles.” She said innocently, “We can’t take off my pants without me being able to spread my legs.” God men were easy, expect for Steve; he seemed like he’d had more respect than this. As expected the man undid her ankles and as soon as he did, she gave him a quick kick to the head; knocking him out. “Seriously, can you get any easier?” With that she jumped over her arms, bring them in front of her before dashing to one of the storage shelves.

Soon she was free; she had cut of the jean legs turning them into shorts for easier maneuvering and shoved them into the bag with the canister along with her moved green sweater jacket leaving her in a pair of cut shorts and a gray tank top. Her hair tie and glasses were nowhere to be seen but she couldn’t waste time on that now. Zipping up the backpack and throwing it over her shoulder, she tied up the guy and blocked the door with as many objects as she could and soon, she was climbing through the heating ducts; everything locked tightly behind her.

The building they had brought her to was old and run down. Stupid run-down building. God I can’t wait to get home and shower. She thought as she crawled her small body through the passages attempting to find her way out. Her body slid further and further, the gun she had taken from the guy tucked into her hip as she crawled along… that was until one of the ducts gave way and began to snap under her. As her body slid backwards she grabbed onto the end of it doing a backflip and landing with a faint thud in the hallway. In her flip she pulled out her gun and pointed it the way she was facing… no one. Behind her, no one. A small sigh of relief left her before she heard a small crack sound from the direction she had been looking previously. Her back slid against the wall closest to the corner that the cracking sound came from. Gun loaded and read she held herself against the wall, gun near her chest ready to point, aim and shoot much like she had done with many target practices with Black Widow. Come on you bastards, trying to kidnap me while I had a chance to see Captain America in person. Take that away from me I’ll beat your faces in! Oh yeah, she was ready for anyone to come around that corner… or was she?

"Stand down, Rogers. We will get other soldier to go and get the woman--"

"With all due respect sir, you and I both know that that won't stop me from going in there."

A short pause. "You sure are a tough soldier to tame, Rogers."

"Thank you, Sir."

"Just make sure the woman, and the case is secure. And bring them back here."

"Understood."

As soon as Steve fell off his bike he chased after the van. He was beyond determined to find the people who kidnaped Sharon. He had a call from Fury shortly after watching the van drive in a warehouse. He didn't plan on sitting on the sidelines as his neighbor and closest thing he had of a friend... whose a girl.. was taken by some thugs. As soon as he was done with his small talk with Fury, Steve made his way to the warehouse, making sure he was stealthy as he could.

The warehouse was cut off by a large gate, but Steve wasn't afraid of it. He easily climbed over it, landing behind large cargo crates. he peered around the corner to see what exactly he was up against. Five men patrolling the front, all having a station, and zone... alternating. Piece of cake. This was someone Steve was made for... literally. He took in a deep breath, took off his shield, and in a fluid motion rolled off the edge of the crate, and threw his shield. It made direct contact with a man's chest. He flew backwards and in to the dock.

Steve was already running when the shield flew back in to his hand. He leapt up and hit another man in the head, falling unconscious. He turned to see two men aiming rifles at him, and the other rushing in to the warehouse, probably to tell the rest of the men... great. He started to run towards more cargo crates as he heard the door open, and shouts. He ducked behind the crates as bullets hit them, and around his head. he really wished he brought a gun. He leapt out of cover, crouching behind his shield as he advanced closer to the lines. He didn't want to go through the middle, or they would easily surround him. He needed to pick a side, and let them come to him. The more he dealt with these guys, the more Sharon was in trouble!

Behind cover yet again, He glanced at where the men were, and then threw his shield. It ricocheted off a crate, and hit a man. During the confusion Steve made his way out of cover again, diving for his shield, going in a roll, and holding it in front of his crouched body as the bullets went flying at him again. He charged, shield out, and swiped away the gun with the shield, then head butted him. He kicked the guy back. he went soaring and hit another gunman. Before any of them could get up, Steve ran for the entrance to the warehouse.

He dragged a large box in front of the entrance to keep everyone out. He didn't need guests in here while he was searching for Sharon. As he walked through the aisles of cargo of the warehouse, he came to the center where a chair was. The dust and footprints of everyone showed that it was recent... Where did they take her? He scanned the room until he heard a loud crash coming from the back, where the offices were held. Steve quietly made his way there.

Stepping in to the hallway, Steve silently began his search, his shield in front of him. As he stepped in a certain part, the old warehouse gave in, a creak sounding through the halls. He stood still for a few seconds, trying to listen for anyone who heard the creak... satisfied that no one was coming, he went down the hall, and turned the corner to be face to face with a blonde haired woman holding a gun at him.

Steve held up his shield, ready to hear gunfire... but she didn't seem to be concerned about shooting. He peered over the rim of the shield. The very attractive blonde stared at him star struck, the gun seemed to be lowered... and Steve didn't feel like she was going to be a threat. There was something about her that was familiar... The military fashion of her holding a gun, like Peggy... her eyes showing that same professional tone, but also showed that she was clearly surprised to see Captain America in front of her.

Sharon was ready to kick some butt because these guys really screwed up her day and made her lose her glasses; now before she went home she’d have to by new pair before she got home. I lost them. That should be the best excuse, if he asks for more detail I suppose I’ll just tell him I lost them while running. A small sigh left her as she mentally thought about lying to Steve. She didn’t like the idea and really hasn’t lied to him yet. Hm, she needed to talk to Fury and get a bit more detail of why she was watching Steve Rogers in the first place.

Taking a deep breathe she rose up the gun and pulled herself from wall and aimed at the figure coming around the corner. To say the least, she was a bit star struck to see that Captain America himself had come after her. Thee Captain America was here. Her gun slowly lowered as he lowered his shield, thank goodness he didn’t throw it; that could have hurt, not only would she have to explain a shield bash along with the rope burns against her wrists and ankles. Stupid rope now she had wear something that would make them not visible.

“Captain.” She said with a bit of disbelief in her voice as she lowered her gun. “I’m sorry they sent you, I had everything under control.” A nod left her as she lowered her gun, her piercing blue eyes scanned the area, they needed to get out of her and soon. “Sir we need to get going. The sooner we can get out of here, the better.” With that she started down the hall before stopping and turning around, he wasn’t following her. “Captain, we have to go. Come on, we’ll let the other’s take care of this. We have to get the package back to headquarters.” A standard Captain America tactic that everyone, even paper-pushers, knew was that he blocked the door that he came in from so she started towards the opposite direction from where he came from before turning to face him and question why he wasn’t moving.

Steve Rogers listened to her talk, looking around as he did so. Fury already sent an agent in here. Was she undercover? Did she know where Sharon went? As she beckoned him to follow her he just stood, trying to think about his options. Although he was told to get the case, he was much more concerned about finding the woman that he was falling for. "I can't leave yet. There was a girl I know that was taken. I'm not going anywhere until I find her." He said, looking at her. If he were to look at her closer he would see a resemblance of Sharon Carter and this mystery woman in front of him. But the lack of her hair up, glasses, wearing cut off shorts, and the fact that there was also Sharon and the enemies on his mind made him not really see her as someone he knew.

"You undercover? Do you know where they took her?" He asked, the shouts from the men getting louder, but he didn't care. He would fight a whole army to make sure Sharon was safe... She did have a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent type feel to her, so he wasn't concerned about her betraying him... Little did he know that she had been lying to him for a bit now.

"A girl taken?" She repeated. Did he honestly not know it was her? Geeze you'd think Captain America would be more in tune with what was going on around him. She was the only girl here and while she was one of Fury's favorites; she would be in a lot of trouble if she didn't return to the headquarters soon. "With all do respect sir she's fine, the sooner we get out of here the better." Continuing down the hallway she stopped; realizing he wasn't following her. Maybe he didn't believe that she was a S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent. "Remember when you came into visit Doctor Banner in the lab? I was in the other room; I'm Agent 13, please Captain; trust me, let's go."

BANG the front door that he had blocked crashed open and echoed through the warehouse making the two aware that the crew, what was left of them, were making their way into the building. "Captain please." She begged in a harsh quiet tone. "We don't have time for argue about her; she's safe trust me now we have to get going!" As much as she didn't want to leave the Captain behind and inherently put a bad taste of who she is in his mouth, she was really running out of options. The canister needed to get back to S.H.I.E.L.D. And if he had had any communication with anyone back at headquarters, back up was on its way. And... Knowing her luck it was most likely Stark and he was not someone she wanted to deal with at the moment. Plus that shower sounded really nice. With that she started down the hallway, all business just like her aunt.

As she talked, Steve seemed to get a bit frustrated. She was clearly on a mission. He respected that. But what he didn't like or understand was that there was someone in here in need of help, and she didn't even bother to inform him on where she was. How was he supposed to believe that? "And with all due respect, ma'am." Steve said, his tone was professional, but had power behind it. "I have these beliefs. And since it seems like you know me, these beliefs might be outdated in this time, but I am not here for the item S.H.I.E.L.D. wants. I'm here for a life that is on the line because of these actions." He said, staring at her with his blue eyes.

He heard the crash, they only had a few more seconds before they were greeted with gunfire.... He had no choice now but to believe her. She seemed confident... And it should be obvious that the blonde who lived across the hall from him was the same blonde who was now holding a gun. He wasn't sure why he couldn't put two and two together now. Maybe it was because he didn't want to think that Fury assigned an agent to follow him... and that he would fall for that same agent.

As they walked down the halls, he heard the footsteps getting louder and louder. "There they are!" He heard someone yell. He instinctively pulled off his shield, turned, and held it up, standing in front of 13 to receive most of the bullets. As he provided cover for them, 13 was firing at them. She had pretty amazing aim.. probably would beat Natashia too. He peered over the rim of the shield to see what exactly they were up against. One man was already dead on the floor, while it seemed three men were on them, but more were soon to come he guessed. "Start stepping back." he said through the gunfire. They started to retreat farther in to the hall until they reached a corner. He stepped behind it, then looked at her.

"When I throw my shield, start shooting. They'll be distracted." he said. he started to count down from three on his fingers, and when he was done, he turned and threw his shield. it ricocheted off the wall, and in to a man's head. Sadly though, he was grazed by a bullet without his weapon. It grazed the strap that held the helmet to his head, and it got a small part of the side of his chin. "cover me until I get my shield, then get out of here with the case. I'll keep them busy."

Steve then charged out of the corner, running for the shield that was on the floor. 13's cover fire providing him some extra time. he dove for his shield, and in the middle of grabbing it, rolling back up, and hiding behind his shield, his helmet fell off, showing his face now. He came towards them with the shield, swiping a gun away again, taking the man's arm, twisting it, and kicking him in to the others. He was halfway in the hall, and more men were coming. He now had no helmet, no gun, and an army to keep off while 13 went to go get a case. he managed to take out a couple more until he heard. "fire in the hole!!!"

A man tossed a grenade in to the hall. Steve's reaction time was so fast, that he could dodge a bullet point blank. Now he was using it to stand up, and swatting the grenade back at them using his shield. He started to run, putting the shield back on his back as he tried to reach the corner without getting hit by another grenade. That should keep them busy, though, as he heard the grenade explode.
