People are born mutants, they don't come into contact with something and become mutants out of the blue. And I don't think I need to mention this is regular Marvel and not Ultimate, if it were Ultimate most of the X-Men would already be dead [I blame poor writing and shock value kills].

I honestly had my fill of symbiotes in one of my last Spiderman themed games. I usually had Spiderman getting cloned or his powers becoming some kind of accident giving dozens of people in NYC Spiderman powers, just not all of them. I think I capped it at 3. Anyway, long story short, at least half the CS's people PM'ed me had them trying to convince me a symbiote [not just any, but theirs specifically] would be better for them story wise and that they needed added symbiote powers to be able to tell a story. Like the ability to stick to walls, shoot organic webbing, or toss a car like some skinnier version of the Hulk wasn't enough to work with....

alright. Thanks KL. I'll once again try to find a character appropiate for this roleplay.
Maybe a shadowmancer? (molds shadows to his will, solidifying them for attacks or defense.)

Yeah, if you come into contact with something and develop powers, like Spider-Man, that's known as a mutate. Born with supernatural abilities is a mutant. At least, I think that's how Marvel classifies it.

I actually have heard theories that say Peter has the X-gene, and the spider bite caused dormant abilities to surface. They're not common, but definitely out there.

Name - Gordon March
Alias - Shroud
Age - 13
Power[s] - Strong control over shadows. Can solidify them for attacks or defensive maneuvers.
Absolute dark vision
Can talk to shadows, so anyone in the dark can be detected by him, but he needs physical contact to do this.
Immune to shadow based attacks.
Weaknesses - His attacks are cancelled by bright light, and he is useless where there are no shadows. He is also harmed more by light-based attacks.
How long at the Institute - Fresh Meat
Favorite subject - Science in general
Favorite teacher - Beast
Appearance -
This is his costume and hair color covered. His eyes are empty black voids of color, and he is 5'10". He weighs 145 pounds, and has a necklace with a Eye of Horus as the trinket.
BRIEF Bio - Gordon has had his powers since birth. He was always hanging out in the shadows, claiming he could talk to them. This started at the age of five, and was first seen as the young mind being playful. But at the age of twelve, he continued showing this behavior. His parents feared for his sanity, so to the psychologists with him. Nothing worked at all. They eventually gave up, and he found out about the mutant school, thinking that might help him.

That post was a word document for far longer than it needed to be, but at least I finally got something up. I've been busy.

I liked your post. Also, I like the word picayune. So thanks for that.

@Jon, I believe "shadowmancy" is referred to as Umbrakinesis as far as it being a power, rather than an actual magical manipulation of darkness. And man, you really keep trying to "break the mold" in some odd ways. Usually only physical mutations are manifest at birth, but if KL doesn't mind that's all that matters. I do like that my character could wipe you out without even a second thought, though. So. Keep that up.

Thirteen is a bit young for a kid to run around looking all goth and smacking people around with shadows. At least fifteen or sixteen would be better. Umbrakinesis was right, Solemn! Shadowmancy does sound cool, but kinda magical. With the powers, I get the talking to them at a young age, but saying its a power years later when all he has to do is think about it to manipulate them into attacks and defenses is kind of odd. Now if he talks to them openly, like say.... "Can somebody give me a hand, or a foot?" and then a fleeing enemy gets tripped by the rising shadow of a street post... that's something else. But if he gets shadows from a wall and forms them into hammers and stuff, that's completely different as well. So how are you willing to tone down the shadow powers so he doesn't seem too OP'ed or crazy? I'd personally like the whole talking to shadows to get them to do things and come to life somewhat. Asking them about info like each one is a walking two-way. Kinda reminds me of Hawksmoor from the Authority, the "King of Cities" literally would tell pieces of the city to do things and skyscrapers would turn into giant arms and stuff. T'was awesome.

I'll have a post up tomorrow, Been thinking if Sarina gets into a spot of trouble going transparent a little or something as so far only NPCS have been effected except for Raixx falling onto his butt after suddenly getting his whereabouts of coming out of a coma.

Actually, that was because his legs atrophied a little tiny bit... He got better. Unless you mean my recent post, but that's just Steve's standard travel via electric currents gimmick.

???

Steve was never underwater. He was just completely drenched with it, then electrocuted by a stray line, and with his powers out because of the water, his body took the brunt of it. The trauma put him in a coma.
