Actually Kapu, maybe a gun would be interesting for that fact alone? He is a coward character, maybe the gun would make him brave, but I wonder how that would all play against the other magical entities as you said. It could be a 'wake-up' or something, a realization. I think it would be good for character development. I'm actually really curious how he's going to try to rise to power in this new world. We don't really have a set anti-hero yet, perhaps we should rethink the gun. (and maybe like a pocket with a money clip and some spare bullets). If the gun was in his belt loop when he was transported.

Also I think he was going for a Shade.

I would describe Shifties shift as a Boogeyman. The being can hide in small areas like closets and beds, can't be seen in sunlight, and can take many forms. All of which cause fear and dread in their victims. While you may consider the 'Boogeyman' to be a modern day phenomenon, there's a curious welsh prayer:

"From ghoulies and ghosties and long-leggety beasties and things that go bump in the night, good Lord, deliver us!"

For as long as man has existed, he has always feared the dark. Imaging dreadful things that go bump in the night that can take many shapes and forms, all of which are horrifying to who sees them. In the past some would call them Shades or Wraiths, today we call them 'the Boogeyman.' I would argue that the Boogeyman are shapeshifters as they take innumerable forms, in countless nightmares. Does it sound like something a emo-kid in Middle School would choose?

Well, yeah. But I'm in a rather ghoulish mood today. ;)

Of course, I understand if you don't want something that goes slither in the night and will instead search for something more traditional. And I'll get rid of the gun, after all, I still can get something using kind words. :p

Also, unless you can provide a link that boogeymen are actual mythical creatures (normally I would try to find it for you.) I'm going to call you a shade, regardless >_> just saying.

Bogeymen are mythical creatures that are used to frighten children out of bad behavior in cultures all over the world and take many different forms, which is why I consider them mythical. And the myths provide inspiration for bad slasher flicks.

Alright, by virtue of the Bogeyman being what he is (and the obvious weaknesses) that Shift is okay. As for the gun... It's a tricky one. Normally I would flat out refuse, but you bring up some valid points, Aeon. He'll keep the gun, but only have six bullets - half a clip in your standard handgun, if I'm not mistaken? And if I am mistaken, just make it half the amount of bullets of a normal handgun. Giving him too many bullets would be a bit much, imo, so better that he has to preserve them. What do you say?

Glocks are one of the most common handguns in the U.S., and frequented by law officials. 7-8 bullets would be about half. Which gives a little lee-way, because you don't want him to wave it around the entire rp. I personally, would like to see how a couple are used.

So, I see it's back to my Minecraft early game strategy:

1.) Start constructing mud fort.
2.) Night comes, hide in mud fort.
3.) Spend the next day cutting down trees and digging out a mine shaft to call home while scavenging for food.
4.) Sleep.
5.) Creeper destroys mine shaft in the morning. Repeat step 1.

Fixed the link. As for Pathfinder... I've noticed the same. I'll try and contact him.
