I know. But he should be able to do the exact same thing and have it work the exact same way if the weight is distributed the same.

if you try to use a blunt weapon like a bladed weapon, the results damage wise will be less desirable. It requires more force to use a blunt weapon than it does a bladed weapon. That's simple physics.

That and Shinji doesn't just waive his sword around, there are special techniques he has mastered.
