Hurray it's more people. Great

@sigma any idea is good by me so just go for it

@terminal no doubt this new idea will be equally obscure :D

@monkeypants sorry I must have missed the question but if you feel it's been answered then ok

@spleen well hey there

@serp I don't you realize I'm literally Asimov's greatest fan, I'm getting a tattoo of the three laws, in binary xD
So great idea.

And I'm putting this out there for everyone

I am most likely using a fascist transorganic nation which seeks to assimilate all other AI/robots and 'cleanse' or 'ascend' all organics, as a plot device/antagonists.

The hau use a subtle method of conquest. Slowly integrate your foe. Ill likely have ten or twelve races under the hau as member species but my focus will be on the hau race proper.

@darkmatter ; its all good. It happens.

Cool cool.

I'm likely resurrecting an old nation of mine to use a player nation,
For those of you who remember, prepare for all of the liberty, The Free State is coming back.

Obscure implies a difficulty in discerning.

You will not have any trouble whatsoever finding these. You will see them coming from hundreds of lightyears away, and they are all of them cast in a terrible visage.

I'd like to pledge my interest here with a quick summary of my intended civilization.

Graal

Graal Hegemony: Hailing from the desert planet of Gruul H'ea, the mammalian Graal stand 2.5 meters high with a thick grey skin, pointed ears and a ferocious overbite and pronounced brow line that heralds a time reminiscent of humanoid neanderthals. A three layered epidermis houses an internal storage system for preservation of essential nutrients and minerals as well as offering mild protection to the Graal's internal organs; capable of stopping low velocity laser weaponry and low caliber kinetics. The Graal are relatively new to the galactic scene, but their desire for conquest and continued light of a vision of an immense star empire has led the Graal to immense colonization efforts that have seen most of their worlds vastly undeveloped and unfit for true habitation. The Graal pride themselves on their Legions; success in conquest less because of their technology or tactics, but rather in part due to the absolute tenacity of the Graal culture, as well as resolution to fight to the last man, as the Graal have no word for retreat in their own language. The Hegemony is held in check largely due to antiquated technology and sluggish FTL logistics.

On an intragalactic level, Graal tend to hire themselves out as mercenaries, having earned a reputation as soldiers-for-hire that are willing (or simply stupid enough) to accept exceptionally dangerous missions. They are commonly used as bodyguards, gladiators (on less civilized worlds) and soldiers of fortunes. The Black Legion is an exceptionally lethal mercenary corps; numbering 18,000 Graal war veterans, they have a 99% success rate, but with this success rate comes a hefty pricetag. Havok's Brood is a smaller, more clandestine mercenary organization that hires Graal assassins and mercenaries to private clients and interplanetary governments.

OOC Note: The Graal have a slew of different archetypes taken from them; one is the military mantra of the Imperial Japanese Army; that spirit or resolve can compensate for lack of technology. Most player civilizations are always cutting edge, but the Graal by all standards use obsolete and antiquated technology, which hinders their fighting capabilities.

Any input on the Graal is always appreciated!.

Hmm, on second thought. I may fall back to my back-up idea, as too many villainous factions wouldn't be too fun. Need some good to balance it and all :D

My new idea is a Federation, a coalition of humanity+multiple species.

The Graal are not villainous; they would be chaotic neutral if anything. Just in case your comment was regarded toward the Graal.

Yeah suuuurrrrreeeee...... :P

I kid.

Edit; Anyways, my wording was wrong. What I meant was we'll have too many conquering empires if I kept my bugs. So I seek to balance things out a bit, I'll exchange my rampaging bugs for a Federation.

I've got a couple ideas for things I could run with this RP, but I'm going to wait a bit and see what the political climate is before I commit to anything.

You will if others bring the wars to you.

For the record: My faction will be, let us say, nominally peaceful. No war for the sake of war or for the purpose of conquering new territories.

They will find that exceptionally hard to do.

And not for the reasons you think.
