“ Shit!” Kacha said outloud as the woman screamed, he had no doubt that the flying aliens would find them now. It was only a matter of seconds before the hut was surrounded and gas canisters were thrown in, subduing the civilians inside. The gas made them laugh uncontrollably which must of been terrifying and possibly dangerous for the civilians inside. How long would it last? Was the gas safe or would it be ultimately fatal? Ultimately, the pair was very grateful to be wearing their full kit and grateful not to be feeling the effects of the gas.
“ Give yourselves up, your place of hiding is surrounded. You can not stand against the Eternal Union."
They heard from outside of the hut, cracking a smile as they mulled over the words ‘give yourselves up’. “ Is that who we are fighting then?” Ura said looking for another exit out of the hut. Kacha shrugged and stood off to the side of the door, covering it with his rifle. If anything came through the door the rounds from his heavy caliber rifle would shred it. The hut itself only had one door which posed a problem and the area around it was flat for a few meters before dropping off another hill, an impossible run with heavy bergans. They really only had a few options, fight and endanger the civilians inside by exposing them to enemy fire, or give themselves up. The second choice was beyond the scope of any Aradite, surrendering was tantamount to treason and horribly unhonorable. Endangering the lives of these peaceful civilians was also not acceptable, these people could be future trading partners and allies, endangering them was out of the question. Either way, they weren’t going anywhere anytime soon, waiting for the airship to return or simply picking them off as they tried to enter the hut was the best idea right now. Kacha let out a quiet chuckle, pulling a stun grenade from his combat harness before passing it to Ura. “ Throw it through the window” he said over the team comm channel as he continued to cover the door. Ura nodded and stood over to the right of the window, quietly flipping the latch on the shutters before quickly shoving it open and throwing the primed stun grenade out. “ Daiwa!” he yelled as he closed the shutter with the same quickness. ‘Daiwa’ was a colloquial curse in the core worlds, equivalent to a fuck you in Terran language. Being slang, it would be hard for the Iscandarians to translate.

“mining asteroid” ( military installation)
From this angle Gul could see the dome and the increasing number of defenses around it, this mission just went from a normal raid to a special reconnaissance mission. It would require more then 12 people to take down a installation of that size, no matter how well trained they were. Whatever was in there must be important or they wouldn’t bother defending it so heavily, which means the Septonians wanted it. The first step in this process had to be the destruction of communications, if they could isolate this asterioid then they could take it without anyone knowing about it. When the marines landed, they couldn’t be shackled with trying to remain silent, it would take away from their operational strength. The destruction of communications rested solely on Gul’s team, which means they had to find it. “ unpack the communications array, I have a plan” Gul suddenly said, backing away from the edge of the ridge and moving the team back into a fairly deep crater. The team’s communications specialist did as ordered and unpacked the hardware, setting it up with practiced speed. “ Its up…” he said calmly as he booted the system “ What do you want me to do?”. If they set this array up as a relay, he bet that they could at least intercept the radio transmissions and trace them back to the source. “ Set the array to passively listen to any transmissions coming or going, then trace the strongest one. That should be our target” Gul said before moving the team into a defensive perimeter. Destroying the antennae would kill their long-range transmission capability but destroying the comm tech would render all communication impossible.
