Ok, I'll remake Araltrid as much as I remember, then you can give me your opinion of what to do to him to make him a padawan.

Just a heads up, though, my posting will be slow, the slowest being only able to post on the weekends, but I hope to do a bit more than that. I also shall not be joining any more RPs than the ones I am already in. :)

Well the current idea behind me having a Padawan is that I've only had one for a year. So either you have only recently passed the Initiate trials or your previous master was killed and then you were assigned to me. I actually like the second idea due to the emotional stress it will have on you, to lose your master, have him/her/it replaced and then Operation Knightfall.

Appearance(Text and/or Image): Tall, as typical of her species, Keilara stands just over six feet and three inches (just under 2 meters), and weighs only about 165 pounds. She is somewhat slim and rather athletic looking and maintains the general attractiveness of the Vahla. Somewhat atypical, however, is her dark red hair that often falls across amethyst colored eyes. Her skin is a warm, dusky brown color that also seems common for her kind (for comparison purposes, think healthy tan on a middle eastern kind of skin tone). I’ll probably sketch something up later.

History:
A series of unfortunate events lead to Keilara being sold into slavery as a young child. The details are blurred to her and vague memories of her mother singing to her in Vahla are all that remains of her life before.
For close to three years, she worked as a slave on various planets, before finally escaping her last set of captors when they docked with a relatively crowded space station. Keilara begged, stole, bartered, and borrowed for her first year survival on the station. By this time she was 6 and slowly discovering that she had what she called ‘interesting powers.’ The merchants on the station were learning that as well. It was time for her to leave. The youngling Vahla crept aboard and stowed away on a ship bound for anywhere. As destiny would have it, anywhere was Coruscant.
It did not take long for her to garner notice there. Merchants and denizens of [insert non-descript level of Coruscant here] were not fond of being pickpocketed by a telekinetic preteen. Of course, her choice in who to pickpocket may have also shortened her reign of petty theft on the planet. She attempted to steal from one of the Jedi Knights that had been sent out from the temple for some reason unknown to her. She was caught and out-matched, tired looking and too thin from her long struggle to survive her short life, but the Knight treated her kindly. He firmly ordered the return of any objects not her own, before handing her a piece of fruit just purchased from a close by stand. The guilty and apologetic look pasted over the frightened girl’s face seemed to convince him she could learn and grow properly with the right tutelage. It also helped that he could sense no real darkness in the girl- no more than is normal for anyone. He returned to the Temple with her in tow and the rest, as they say, is history. Since then she has worked and trained, striving toward becoming a telekinetic and telepathic Jedi master.
extra note: she is still getting over a fear/mistrust of other beings because of her past and her treatment as being one of the Vahla in a city that houses the Jedi temple.

Couple of things. Being 9, is a bit late to start Jedi Training. What singled you out, why didn't he just take you to a orphanage and be done with it?

Second: Being a Vahla is a good reason to maybe not be too comfortable with being static especially in a building like the Temple. Vahl have been nomadic for thousands of years even if you can't remember it still won't be pleasant for you, IMO.

I can adjust the age relatively comfortably, and the time frames with it.. As for what singled her out, I'd say probably that she was knowingly and actively using/teaching herself little telekinetic force tricks to help her steal/get away, as well as perhaps that she was a lone Vahla child in a stationary place.

Also, I had considered that being one of the things she was using her training to overcome: her discomfort/fear of being stuck in the same place- particularly around people that judged her. It felt, to me, like having some kind of natural, internal struggle might give her a little more depth and make it easier to think in terms of a still-learning and growing padawan.

All the same, if you'd like I will find a new race and pull together a new backstory. I'm full of ideas most of time anyway. :)

No no, I like the depth it can give you. I just wanted to make sure you knew about it and would use it. But yeah I'd say maybe make her a bit younger when she was found. Fits in with entering the Jedi order slightly better.
