The sun shone down harshly, no mercy for the residents of the small town of Appleseed. There was a small wind, but not nearly enough to keep it's inhabitants cool. There were several children near a community fountain, playing and splashing away considering it was summer. Granted, it was nearing it's end. Nel laughed as she watched an old woman come out from her store, yelling at the kids and literally raising a cane at them. It was so cliche...

The white haired female found herself walking through the street of a small town in Georgia. She was looking through the shops, trying her best not to pass out while trying to look for the people Ixchel had talked about. But... She really had no idea how to even go about it. What was she even looking for? Having been out and about for an hour or so, Nel began to look for a store that she'd be willing to go inside and cool off. Spotting a nearby bookstore across the street, she quickly ran over.

She nodded her head at the cashier before walking deeper into the store, her eyes fluttering around the many shelves. It'd been a while since she'd made a stop like this. If she'd seen a music store, she'd have gone into it but... this was the only interesting store she'd seen nearby and she'd wanted to get out of the sun fast. So, she walked around, minding her own business, happy just to be around the comfort of books.

Soon, she found herself in front of the music section, looking over self teaching books over pianos. She had a few already but she desperately wanted more, though she knew she couldn't afford them. She had a job already, it just didn't pay nearly enough. She let out a soft sigh as her fingers slide over the spine of the book she was currently drooling over.

The golden sun shone down brightly on the small town, and a gentle breeze wafted through the streets. Birds chirped away their little songs and in the hedges, grasshoppers clicked. But something was making the birds congregate around a small area. Something was causing the grasshoppers to leave the long grass of the field and hop alongside something, chirping louder than ever before. Something was making the flies of the city buzz around looking. Well, not really something, but someone.

Theodore walked through the street, dragging his bike along with him. He shielded his eyes from the golden sun with his hands, while looking up at the circle of birds that almost seemed to circle him. He looked down at his feet, grasshoppers were hopping alongside him. There were a few on his bike, there was even one on his shoulder, chirping away happily. But Theodore liked the sound of grasshoppers. It was soothing and calming. He had just carried out a long journey to Appleseed, he needed to find a job and he had his exam results and CV tucked inside a small pocket on the seat of his bike.

"The sun really is hot today" Theodore muttered to himself, beginning to sweat. He looked over to find the coolest building he could. There was a small cafe, but it was very full. There was a comic book store, but that was full as well. There was a small umbrella that someone had put up outside a closed shop, but there was a frail old woman, he didn't want to disturb her. But at last, Theodore found a decent place to shelter from the sun. A book store. Even by just standing at the entrance, he could feel the cool air blowing from inside. Theodore entered.

It was very cooling, and Theodore being Theodore, he went straight to the nature and animals section of the library, taking out a small book on grasshoppers and crickets, and beginning to read. He was so engrossed, he didn't notice his bike crashing to the floor until it hit the floor. Theodore gingerly lifted it back up and propped it up against a wall, so it didn't fall again.

She jumped when she heard a loud noise, her body swinging around on reflex to look for what could have caused the noise. Her eyes shot open as she noticed a boy. She watched, a bit incredulous, as her picked up his bike and began to look at the books in front of him. Leaning over a bit, Nel got a little peak at the shelf he was looking at. Nature and Animals? Then... She noticed the grasshopper on his shoulder and the ones at his feet.

But those were only minor details. The big thing causing Nel to stare at this boy was the soft glow emitting from within his chest. It was a sort of brownish green color and shone from deep within his chest.

Swallowing, Nel braced herself and walked back to her stuff. Shifting through her things, she pulled out a book she'd gotten from the library and opened it up to a bookmarked page. It took her a few minutes, but she thumbed through the pages, trying her best to find the god that could fit him. After looking through the few gods that represented some sort of Nature, the only one that really encompassed nature was Yum Kaax.

She looked up from her book to look at the boy again and then down at the book. This was the first one she'd encountered. How did she even know she was doing this right? How did Ixchel know that she wouldn't just screw it up? Cause she felt like she would...

She clapped the book closed and placed it back in her bag and swung her bag over her shoulder. With a quick breath, she walked over to the boy, set down her stuff and began looking through the books as well.

"So... You like Animals? Or do they just like you?" She asked, motioning towards the grasshopper on his shoulder.
