The woman with the black hair confirmed that this was in fact Primrose Terrace. Feli glanced up at the building in disgust. Surely the landlord knew about Elves and their weakness around man-made things. He wasn't going to be much use as a bodyguard if the place he lived in made him tired all the time. Either the man was stupid or hadn't been thinking at the time. Turning his attention back to the black-haired woman he dipped his head. "Thank you." He said before adjusting the bag on his shoulder and walking toward the entrance. Only to pause as he neared it. His eyes narrowed into hostile glares as he stopped a familiar figure by the doorway, talking to somebody. The landlord, the man who had forced him into this.

He kept his distance, watching the landlord from afar. The smell of cinnamon hit his nose and made him want to sneeze. It was rather strong and irritating. It seemed that one of the residents carried around something cinnamon scented. Wrinkling his nose he took a few steps forward, approaching the landlord and the figure he was talking to. He wished his weapons were easy to get to, but unfortunately they were currently in his bag. He hadn't been expecting to need them before he got settled in. He made a mental note to always keep one on him. He was to be a bodyguard after all, he would need to be able to protect someone.

Or something considering the nature of everybody living at the Primrose Terrace. Feli wasn't racist, mostly. As long as there wasn't any Dark Elves here he could be fine. Free Elves didn't get along with Dark Elves in the slightest. The few he had met had been violent and rather vulgar. After the fourth or fifth time he had been groped, he had kind of had enough.

After seeing the woman who was with the landlord's belongings disappear, Feli tightened his grip on his own bag. There was no way he was letting this bag out of his sight until he got it to where he would be staying. He didn't trust anybody here as a far as a dead squirrel could thrown them. Especially not the man who had unintentionally forced Feli away from his family. After all it just wasn't in his nature to let people suffer if there was an easy way out. Even if that way wasn't easy for him.

The mysterious figure before her did little to surprise Alexis. Given what this place was, she would make a very poor bodyguard if that was all it took to trough the werewolf off her guard. Well, mask aside, Alexis ad to admit, his dress sense was impeccable. After the introductions, Alexis took the key and bowed her head slightly, her right arm crossing her chest. Alexis replied, "I am sure the room provided will be sufficient, sir."

Her hearing may not be considered 'super' as a human, but she could certainly pick up the signs of conversation. There was an annoying scent of cinnamon that impeded her nose somewhat, and nearby, a girl was being handed glasses, "so one of these residents is under my care. Has it been decided which one, exactly?" Alexis inquired the masked landlord, before he could disappear from view. The sooner Alexis knew, the faster she could get to work proving her worth, after all.

Kimiko nodded at the boy when he thanked her and watched him walk away. She had noted his expression when he was told that he was indeed in the right place and found it intriguing. Most of the residents came of their own free will and grew to call it home. Although... Kimiko thought, her eyes falling on the people near the main doors of the lobby, I really wouldn't be surprised if the landlord had somehow manipulated him into this. He thinks we'll all be stronger together.

A new voice drew her attention away from them and Kimiko looked beside her to find a young girl talking to her. She blinked in surprise when she greeted her by name and almost groaned when she explained that Marie had told her about her. I swear that woman's big mouth will be the death of her.

"Yes, that's me," she replied, looking down at the shorter girl. The girl seemed rather meek and Kimiko suddenly realized that her brisk voice and frowning face could possibly intimidate her away. And she was new here too. Marie would have her head if she knew that she'd scared off one of the new ones...possibly make her taste-test all of her cooking too. Clearing her throat, Kimiko asked in a gentler voice, "And you are?"

Kimiko glanced away from her new companion to find that the group of girls from earlier had left the scene, having finally grown tired of waiting. She sighed in relief. Now was her chance. There was no way she was going to have lunch at the dining hall this afternoon. Not only was there a huge chance of Marie to cook something to celebrate the arrival of the new residents, but it would be much too crowded for her, and Kimiko was not ready for that at all.

But I can't leave now. And this one will be eaten alive by Capello if she's left alone, she thought, looking at the girl. Oh, gods, I can't believe I'm doing this...

"I'm going to head out for lunch to a...quieter place," Kimiko began, "Do you want to join me?"
The landlord shook his head at the question. "I leave the assignments up to my residents. After all, you would be responsible for someone's life and I can't make such a decision by myself," he replied. "Oh, I almost forgot. We also have a pool on the roof, if you'd like to go for a swim. I'm sure our lifeguard, Mr. Mattis, wouldn't mind the company... Until we meet again, Miss Anderson," with that, he left her side and walked toward the young man standing a few feet away from them.

"Mr. Narunai," he greeted the elf. "Glad to see you have made it here. I hope the journey wasn't too troublesome." He produced a similar room key from his pocket and held it out for the young elf. "Your room is up in 4A and I hope you'll find it suitable to your tastes. I've personally made some...adjustments...for you."

The landlord bowed and added in a whisper, "I truly am sorry for the loss of your home. But I believe you'll find a second home here at Primrose Terrace...perhaps even a family."

With those last words, he disappeared just as suddenly as he'd arrived, leaving primrose petals drifting lazily in the light, summer breeze.

Capello's head leaned out of the nearby wall, upside down, at Akari, giving a soft whisper.

"Don't worry, I don't think anyone actually saw you, you're good!"

With a wink the illusion melted back into the wall, and a brisk wave of cinnamon scent wafted near her as the liar zipped by invisibly in fox form. He raced through the halls, leaping over Marie's shoulders and flicking her ear gently with his tail as he turned a corner. He didn't like being near the Landlord. Ignoring that the fox couldn't see through his magic, the Landlord was the only being who knew his past. All of it. A condition of his employment. He didn't like that, knowing someone could look at him and see everything he was and wasn't. It made his stomach squirm. The fox slowed down for a moment, still invisible, as he saw a figure walking slowly through the halls. Another new resident, but this one was one of the new bodyguards. The youngest, in fact, if memory served. He had only been in the complex a few days. The fox had seen him about, but most of the time, the boy seemed...lethargic. The two had never spoken. In fact, Capello couldn't really remember if the boy had even seen him yet. Well, either way, it was time for an introduction.

Capello rounded the corner in front of Andrew, giving a grin and a wave.

"You're one of the new bodyguards right? Nice to meet you, I'm Capello."

The liar suddenly spiraled into a whirlwind of red leaves and coalesced next to the boy, again smiling.

"You seem awfully young to be a bodyguard. I'm assuming you're talented then. Or at least full of potential, if the Landlord agreed to have you on for such an important role."

Andrew was a bit cautious around Capello. In his few days here, he has only heard pretty nasty things about the trickster. He might have only been at Primrose for a few days, but it only takes one day to know his name around here. He was warned rather quickly of his illusion shenanigans. He was suspicious of him coming up and being friendly to him, but he figured he would give him the benefit of the doubt since they never actually talked. A lot of time, gossip is nothing but lies anyways.

"I guess", he said. A bit confused by his question. He really didn't quite understand the importance of his role, so thought Capello was either being sarcasm in that, "Haha, you have to babysit some rich person.' or just being hyperbolic.

He just walked past a clock, and realized it was almost lunch. He figured he might as well be friendly and see if this person was actually a prick or not for himself. "Well, it almost lunch. Want to sit down and eat together." he said, trying to be friendly, though he honestly wasn't trying to hard and it came out rather forced.

Feli had never heard the term Mr. Narunai before. It was rather strange. Usually his group just called each other by their first names. Last names weren't that important among them. It was strange but not exactly bad. He would have to make sure nobody else called him that though, because he probably wouldn't respond to in. He accepted the key and memorized the room number. Though he wasn't sure how he was suppose to use it. Oh well, he would find out eventually. The Elf was surprised that the man had made adjustments to his room. He wasn't used to none-Elves paying enough attention to the Free Elves to know their weaknesses. And even if they did, they usually didn't care.

When the landlord bowed, Feli bowed back, as was Elvish custom. He wasn't looking for another family, he wanted to protect the one he had. A home was stretching it a little bit two, but stranger things had happened. He took a few steps back as the landlord disappeared, both startled and confused. He closed his eyes for a moment, letting the breeze swirl around him. Listening to the soft laughter of the spirits inhabiting it as they played and danced in the sky. Carrying the petals left behind by the landlord. Some of the smaller spirits got tired and dropped their petals, causing them to lazily drift to the ground. A soft smiled graced his lips. He loved being able to interact with nature's spirits like this. It was one of the best parts of being an Elf. They could interact with all the nature spirits, not just the ones that are specific to their face or element. Because they didn't wield magic and were simply close to nature.

It was rumored that Elves that became part of human society lost the ability to communicate with the spirits of nature. But none had been able to confirm it, because Free Elves tend to ignore those Elves. Before the wind spirits left to go play somewhere else, they knocked the hood off of Feli's head, revealing his pointed ears and androgynous features to the other Yokai outside. With one last giggle they departed for another area to play at. A quick glance told Feli that the humans were gone now so he didn't have to worry about them seeing his ears.

Gin looked up, surprised at the offer Kimiko had made. She had never been out anywhere larger than a small village before, and hadn't bothered to get a map. It would be good to get around, and Kimiko seemed as if she truly wanted to get away from Primrose for awhile. The positives out weighed the negatives, and Gin decided to accept, smiling softly up at the girl in front of her.

"I would love that. My apologies... I haven't made my way around the city, so I won't be much help getting around"

Gin straightened her shawl, and checked to make sure her ears and tail were hidden. She had chosen to wear a simple black skirt, along with a white shirt decorated with ruffles, and knee socks. Her normal sandals were left out, and she instead opted for simple brown slip ons. She hadn't thought about going out today, but it was probably better for her than sitting up in her room. Kimiko seemed like a nice girl, although a bit annoyed, most likely at the girls who had previously been loitering around the exit, making a pathetic display of trying to stay hidden. Suddenly remembering said girls, Gin tensed again, shifting to look out the gates. They were gone, but that didn't ease her worries.

"S-sorry, but are residents here often... well watched? I couldn't help but notice the girls who had previously been here and.. Um..."

Gin stumbled on the words, trying her hardest to form a complete sentence. She was worried about being watched everyday, as she often liked to let her animal like features show when unaccompanied by humans. She supposed that having someone show such detection towards getting to know you should be flattering, but all it did for her was send chills down her spine, causing her to wrap her shawl tighter around her shoulders. The residents she had met so far hadn't left the best impression, and she honestly hoped that Kimiko was a little more normal, or at least not have tendencies to jump face first into walls.
Marie stepped out of the kitchen, a smile set on her features and a plate of of cookies was in her hands. They were vanilla, with light yellow frosting and delicate patterns of flowers etched along the top. She had baked the cookies the previous night, and left the to cool. They looked almost perfect, and Marie looked at them proudly, licking the extra icing off her fingers. She planned to give some to any new residents, and anyone else who wanted some. She had made a batch of cupcakes last week, but sadly everyone seemed to have suddenly developed a case of the stomach flu, though Capello and Exoris accepted them. It was slightly odd, she supposed that everyone seemed to be busy when she cooked. Shaking it off, she walked into the lobby, carrying the tray as carefully as possible.

"...I see," Alexis was somewhat surprised by the answer. It seemed like an awful lot of trust was placed in the residents regarding their personal safety. Well... perhaps it did make sense. After all, it wasn't like the people she saw were children. Rather young, but definitely within the 'adult' age bracket.
Either way, Alexis was confident she would be selected before long. When the landlord went to greet another newcomer, the werewolf turned her gaze towards the roof. Interesting area for a swimming pool. She had no desire to swim, but Alexis did need to memorise the area's layout as soon as possible. And the roof might provide a decent enough birds-eye view of the land. Leaving the landlord to speak with the elf, Alexis headed inside.

Of course, given her lack of familiarity with the area, it wasn't long before Alexis had wandered into the lobby, unsure of which direction to take. Stairs were an obvious choice for the roof, and presumably her room, but she might as well learn the layout of the ground floor while she was at it.
The pink maid could probably assist, the tall woman figured, approaching the cat-like figure, "Excuse me, miss," Alexis said respectfully, "I have just arrived, and would like to know if there is a map of this building? Or at least the direction of any important rooms on this floor."
She momentarily eyed the treats on the tray, before returning her gaze to the maid. They certainly smelled nice, but it would be rude to ignore her in favour of random sweets.

The call of her nickname had the girl stop, plopping down for a moment to "calm" herself prior to leaning down and taking up the cinnamon stick dropped to the ground. Whilst breaking it own and popping up, she slipped into the main lobby of the apartment to- Oh?!

Was that Marie's cooking she smelled?!

Once she was out of sight, she dropped down to all fours and began shaking her body like a dog trying to sake off water from its fur. Within a matter of moments, the human "skin" she wore would fall off in favor of a dark sea-blue fur taking hold, her legs adjusting to match those of a canine's, and her head to reshape itself into that of a wolf's. A snap of a tail formed a flowing, soft mass behind her to swish back and forth whilst entangling in what seemed to be a transparent slip of fabric that surrounded the tail itself. Her true form -- that of an Inugami -- would have her sit as she ate at the stick for a moment, scratch behind her ear, and then promptly take off running right through the small group that had been formed in order to get to the kitchen - oh, she beat her here! COOKIES WERE IN SIGHT! Target ACQUIRED!

Just as she smelled it beyond the cinnamon, the Inugami dropped into a sitting position with a tilt of the head. A prompt turn of her head and a yip from her lips would be made to grab the attention of the maid that she'd come to like in her time here. The noise was the same noise she always made when some of Marie's cooking was up for grabs: the traditional begging whine for one of the cookies would be made. She actually showed restraint for once! She would take the time to wait until the platter was set down before she jumped up and tackled the maid over and begin licking her cheek as her own sign of affection.

Uh...She'd say hi to the other people there later. She wanted the cookies and being in the more comfortable of her two forms meant she couldn't touch the tray...or Marie might bench press her head off her body again.

Kimiko nodded, leading the way outside after making sure Gin was following her. The weather was rather nice today, perfect for an outing, though she would've preferred some clouds overhead. Rain always made her better, even if it did get a little annoying that it would rain when she couldn't control her emotions. As if she needed a visual representation of how she was feeling.

Gin's small voice made the older girl glance at her, shrugging at her question. "Well, yes, actually. There are many rumors about this place and humans are a curious bunch, always flocking towards needless gossip," she replied casually. She was quite used to it by now, having been the object of people's curiosity ever since she was a child. "Still, I'd choose this place over my family home anyday," Kimiko murmured, glancing at her watch. It was a little later than she usually had lunch but it shouldn't matter. They had plenty of time before nightfall. Besides, it had been a while since yokai have attacked them. They've probably forgotten us, she hoped.

Glancing towards the girl, Kimiko noted that she looked a little uncomfortable, probably at the thought that she would be watched all the time. She tried to think of something to say to reassure her. "Don't worry too much about it. The garden is large enough and blocked by walls so that humans can't see much except for a few feet near the gate," she told Gin, offering her a small smile. "Besides, once you choose a bodyguard, you won't feel as uncomfortable." At least, that was how I felt anyway, she added in her head, wondering how her previous bodyguard was doing now. Even though they hadn't been close friends, it was rather strange how they had suddenly left. And no matter how much Kimiko had denied that it had affected her, the unexpected rainfall last week had said otherwise.

They had been walking for a while now and reached a quaint Japanese restaurant with very few people occupying it. Not only was she fond of the sushi here but the peaceful atmosphere was one she often escaped to when Primrose Terrace felt a bit overwhelming for her. There were small tables and chairs placed inside with printed bamboo rugs covering the floor. A rock garden was outside, complete with its own sōzu, occasionally breaking the silence with the bamboo tube clanking against the rock. Greeted by one of the waiters when she entered, Kimiko chose a table in the garden, where no other patrons were seen. As she was taking her seat, she realized that she hadn't even asked if Gin liked sushi and cursed herself mentally for completely forgetting to.

"I'm sorry, I should've asked what kind of food you liked," Kimiko said, scanning quickly over the menu to see if they had other types of food. "They do have other snacks though..." she added uncertainly, glancing at Gin. She didn't seem bad as a person. Most importantly, she was quiet, albeit a little shy, and Kimiko could see herself growing to like her.

Andrew
Cameos: Alexis, Marie, Exo, Kimiko

Capello grinned and quirked one brow. The boy sucked at faking emotion, a good trait to have for someone who wanted to be honest, a bad one if they intended on not being honest. Fortunately, Capello didn't take it personally. He was used to having his reputation precede him, and even more used to being mistrusted to the point of rudeness. The boy seemed on edge and feigning politeness. Better than most, he supposed.

"It's okay, you don't need to force yourself on my account. I take it you've heard of me, judging by how tense you got when I said my name Mr. Buk."

The fox leaned back as voices hit his ears, checking down the hall. Marie, Exo, and another newcomer. Capello pointed down the hall, smiling at Andrew with a slight tilt to his head. Despite popular conceptions, the liar wasn't one to force others into his company for extended periods of time. This did cause a lot of questions about his motives though. He shook it from his mind as he spoke.

"Kitchen's that way. I highly recommend that whatever you decide to eat, you make it with your own hands. No matter how good it may look. Marie is the sweetest little thing, so avoid hurting her feelings if you can. Plus it lessens the chance that she'll push your face through the wall."

The fox started to evaporate from the feet up, then gave Andrew a deadly serious look.

"Seriously. Fear the cookie."

And with a puff, the fox had disappeared from sight, his real form padding down the hallway to the bar. No one would be there this early, and it would give him some time to think over the new descendants, possibly even choose one to offer himself to. Odds are it'd be like every other time though. He would take the straggler, being unwanted due to his reputation, easily spread through word of mouth, specifically Hime-chan's grumblings. The girl had trust issues, Capello could understand that much, even empathize with it. Still, didn't make it any less frustrating to have those looks cast at him all the time. The fox nudged the door open, the dim lights somewhat soothing to him. Anything that helped hide his presence just helped keep him calm. He was too large for the leather couches that were sprawled around, so instead he simply curled his massive form on the ground, and despite his better judgement, opted against an illusion to hide his form. The great white fox lay in the middle of the dim bar, eyes shut in concentration as his ears flicked back and forth for any sounds of approaching individuals.

Mattis
Alexis, the Landlord, Marie, Exo
(Akari, Neri)

Mattis blinked as Akari ducked past him, registering her brief greeting only long enough to raise a hand in bemused response.

" . . . pool on the roof, if you'd like to go for a swim." He pricked his ears at this, returning his attention to the new arrivals and his boss. "I'm sure our lifeguard, Mr. Mattis, wouldn't mind the company... Until we meet again, Miss Anderson." Noting the name and its owner, a woman not much shorter than himself, he strained to hear what the Landlord said to the striking blond stranger but found that unless he was willing to leave his hiding spot, he would have to content himself with some guesswork. Yada-yada something-boring Welcome to Primrose . . .

Show off, Mattis thought, only half as venomously as usual as the Landlord vanished. He was distracted by Miss Anderson. Wandering into the lobby, she stopped short at Marie with her tray of cookies. Just the thought of the maid's baking goods made the lifeguard's bowels writhe. Sure they seemed nice, and that was the problem--that and Marie herself. It was impossible to say 'no' to someone so good-natured.

"Excuse me, miss, I have just arrived, and would like to know if there is a map of this building? Or at least the direction of any important rooms on this floor." Not the roof though, or the pool, he noted, half-relieved, half-disappointed. At which point an enormous blue dog came skidding to a halt before the maid. Mattis grinned: it was safe to come out now--the Inugami would happily dispose of all Marie's dastardly creations, saving the rest of them from a fate only slightly preferable to death.

"Hello Marie, hey Exo--" he slipped a cookie off the tray, grinning at the maid. "Who could say no to a face like that, huh Marie?" He flipped the treat to the dog-formed bodyguard with a wink. "--and you must be Miss Andrew? I'm sorry, I just overheard the boss saying so. I'm Mattis of the Pool, pool-boy and lifeguard. You can just call me Mattis though," he added generously, offering a hand to shake. "Nice to meet you!"

Marie, Gin (Kimiko, Alexis, Exoris, Mattis)

Maire stopped walking as a girl asked her for directions.
"Oh, sure!" Marie responded, quickly pulling out the standard map. Staff usually kept one on hand, since the size of the apartment was so large and new and old residents alike often got lost.

"I circled all the main rooms in red pen, so you should be able to find them easier. I haven't seen you around. Would you happen to be Miss Alexis Anderson?"
She quickly pointed out all of the important rooms, before remembering the plate she held.
"I almost forgot, would you like a cookie?" Just as she finished her sentence, a large dog bolted into the room, quickly coming to a stop. Exoris. Whenever Marie mad something, she could always count on Exoris to come running. She quirked her head and began yipping, obviously trying to catch Maries attention by begging. Marie would like to say that it didn't have an affect on her, but whenever it happened, she always gave in and let Exoris eat whatever she had made.

After giving one to the new girl along with the map, Marie turned, almost to bump into Mattis. Grinning even wider as he took off a cookie, she went over and placed the rest of the cookies in front of Exoris

"Here you go Exo, hope you like them!"
Gin walked beside Kimiko, enjoying the sounds of birds and the gentle swaying of trees in the breeze. It was a nice day in Gins opinion. She had never been much of a fan of winter, sadly watching as the plants she nurtured withered away. But today was different, and for that Gin was glad. They continued walking, stopping by a small Japanese restaurant. There were few customers, the ones that were there sat scattered across the patio. It gave off a calm aura, the sounds of a small waterfall soothing to Gin, and the smell of the fresh flowers that surrounded it made her feel like she was home again.

Kimiko had taken a seat, and as she was doing the same, Kimiko apologized. Realizing that she was apologizing for not asking for Gins input, she waved her off, smiling happily as she took a seat herself.

"Oh, don't worry. I actually like sushi very much."

It was true, one of her favorite dishes was always sushi. There wasn't much she didn't eat, excluding squash and oatmeal. She was glad that Kimiko had considered her though.
Kimiko was polite, and seemed like a nice person, and Gin was sure that she was someone that she could trust. Speaking of trust, Gin thought back to what Kimiko had said earlier as she waited for their food.

A bodyguard... I hope I don't encounter a situation where I need protection, but it would be nice to have someone I could trust, or at least get along with fairly well...

The Alexis Show, featuring Marie, Exo, Mattis
"Thank you," Alexis replied, taking the map, "And I am, yes. It is a pleasure to meet you."

A large dog suddenly burst onto the scene as Alexis was offered one of the cookies. She couldn't help but raise an eyebrow at the canine, who seemed desperate to consume the baked goods. This maid's cooking was clearly extremely popular, or she mixed dog food into the biscuits. Well, nothing wrong with the scent...

Tucking the map under one arm, Alexis received a cookie into her free, bottle-less hand as she turned to face another staff member, one of the few people that necessitated craning her neck upwards slightly. So that was the poolboy mentioned earlier. She bowed her head politely towards him.
"Anderson," she corrected, "Feel free to refer to me as 'Alexis'. It is a pleasure to meet you, as well."

Well, if nothing else, the staff seemed quite friendly, and well-informed. The residents... were energetic, especially the dog. Well, that wasn't necessarily a bad thing she figured. Still, someone like that was a bodyguard...
Resisting the urge to frown slightly, Alexis raised the cookie to her lips, as if savouring the texture before taking a small bite. Yeah... this was pretty g-

Andrew: Getting the hell out of here

Andrew followed the directions of the fox demon to the lunch area, what he found was chaos. He couldn't even really process what was happening. Their was the maid with her very infamous baked goods, and people were eating them and their was this energetic dog, who he took a wild guess was either someone pet or possibility a shapeshifter like himself and their was a girl who tried one of the cookies and she looked like she was getting sick or something

He turned around, slowly took a few steps away from the madness, and then quickly paced out side of the building. "You know, I think I can go without lunch today" he said to himself as he decided that having fresh air would be a lot better than whatever that he get in that lunchroom. I mean, to him going without lunch probably would be a lot better than getting the stomach flu, which he heard was what happened when ever you eat the maid's baked goods, or was it diarrhea. Then he decided it was best not to linger on that thought.

Yuen curiously walked down the street, looking around at his surroundings. Yup, this was the place. He had passed this place exactly three times before. He was lost. He frowned, taking the directions written down on a piece of paper out of his pocket, looking them over again. Jeez, how could it be so hard to find one apartment building? He glanced over at a pay phone, and thought to call them- after all, he did have the number- but was reminded again of his own muteness. What was he going to do, breath at them aggressively until they got off the line?

He eventually found help from a wandering gaggle of giggling school girls, taking out his note pad and writing down his words. It was hard to understand them, foreigners spoke so fast, it was hard to keep up, especially these ones! They eventually seemed to think he was deaf, and simply wrote down the directions, leaving him flustered and confused. Really? Now they were telling him to go in the opposite direction, he had just come from there! Sighing wearily, he readjusted the heavy backpack on his shoulders, deciding he had might as well go wherever the girls had told him to.

Not a long while later, only a half hour or so, he finally made it to his destination. Primrose Terrace, the place his parents had told him about, a safe haven for half-yokai. The Byakko felt his striped tail twitch back and forth under his coat, pointed ears perking up. It smelled like someone was cooking inside. He looked for a doorbell of a buzzer by the gate, but saw none. How was he supposed to get inside then?

He looked around for a secret entrance, he found none, to his dismay, and eventually gave up. He'd have to get in the not-entirely-legal way. Did yokai have laws against breaking and entering? It would be amusing if they did, if only for the idea of a demon lawyer. He took his back pack off and tossed it over the gate, gripping the wrought iron bars and heaving himself up. He managed to balance on top of the fence, his tail splaying out under his coat. And then, like a graceful epileptic one-legged hippopotamus, he toppled right over, face-planting in the driveway on the other side of the gate.

He slowly got to his feet, surprisingly having little more than a bruise on his cheek, despite a fall forceful enough to snap a troll's neck. He supposed being very sturdy creatures helped Byakko in the way. It would certainly help explain how he had survived this long.
Dusting off his clothes, he picked up his backpack and walked up the lobby doors, knocking twice before peering inside. Huh. No one was there? He had the instinct to call out, but knew it was useless, so he went back to the door frame and knocked again. Nothing.

He saw someone coming out of the kitchen, and though he waved, the man didn't see him, and went outside. Yuen felt his heart fall a little bit, but, then again, maybe there were other people in the kitchen? There certainly was some sort of wailing coming from it...

Feli took a deep breath and braced himself. He entered the building and instantly felt his stomach turn. Sure there was some natural stuff mixed in, but a lot of it was man made. At least his room should be better from what the landlord had said. He could feel the ache in his shoulder where the healing burn was, a mix between the man made building and the medicine that had been on it wearing off. As soon as he got to his room he'd have to put more medicine on it. Medicine made entirely out of plants and herbs of course, no chemicals like humans used. Didn't they know it was killing their bodies as it healed them temporarily? He took a quick look around, realizing that he didn't know where his apartment was. There was a group of people in the kitchen that he could ask, but then caught a whiff of something in the air.

He sniffed again and jerked back, wrinkling his sensitive nose. It smelled like a mixture between a half rotten corpse that had been in the sun for a few days, and vanilla. Feli about lost his lunch right then and there and decided it would be best to avoid the kitchen for now. Luckily there was a sudden knock at the door that his sensitive ears had no trouble picking up. It was an excuse to stay away from the kitchen for now. He set his bag down where it wouldn't get in anybodies way and went over to the door. He opened it, revealing yet another Yokai. Just how many people were living in this place? They must have been new like Feli if they knocked, though he had no magic so he had no way of knowing who or what they were.

"Hello." He said polite, even, tone. "Are you new here too?" Feli's long, pointed, ears twitched from the loud, chaotic sounds coming from the kitchen. If their cook was producing that smell in there, Feli vowed to cook his, and his charge's meals. He was an excellent cook and had been doing so his entire life. Cooking game such as birds or squirrels over an open flame. He could make all sorts of things with just the simple ingredients found in the forest. So what could he do with a real kitchen? It was only a matter of learning all the equipment. Which would probably take some time considering he had never seen technology before.

Relieved that Gin liked sushi, Kimiko ordered a bowl of miso soup and a platter of sashimi for herself. She hadn't realized how hungry she was until she saw the menu, and her mouth was watering already. If the other new residents were like Gin, she supposed hiding out in her room had been unnecessary. She wondered if there were any bodyguards among them. She'd have to see how well they were in combat before she'd choose one. Or maybe she'd choose one of the old residents. However, Exoris was far too boisterous for her to keep up with and Capello was...Capello. Kimiko pushed it away to the back of her mind. There was no immediate need to decide. Things were peaceful, for now.

She glanced at Gin, wondering what yokai she was. Was it rude to ask someone that directly? She wasn't sure. Social interactions were never her forte and before this, she was always with her bodyguard, having no real need to talk to anyone else; though the occasional person, like Marie with her need to mother everyone and Capello with his teasing, had managed to wriggle their way into her life.

Deciding to break the silence, Kimiko chose a safer question rather than a direct 'What are you?'. "So, what brings you to Primrose?" she asked just as the waiter brought their food.

Yuen looked up as someone came to open the door for him, jumping a little bit. It was a short person, with long strange hair and even stranger eyes. He couldn't tell if this person was a boy or a girl! He quickly straightened when the foreigner said hello, and asked if he was new. Wait, too? So, this person, they were also lost when it came to this strange place? He quickly nodded, stepping out of the doorway and setting his backpack on the coffee table, opening it up and digging around in it.

Eventually, he found what he was looking for; a small white board and an Eezyrase marker. He held the cap in his teeth, careful not to snap down on it too hard with his long canines. He finished scribbling out his message to the foreigner, showing it and waiting, before realizing- he had written the message in Korean.
Embarrassed, he turned the board around and erased the characters with his shirt sleeve, making sure he was writing in English this time. Oh, the trouble in being bilingual. Well, languages were a lot easier to learn, he supposed, when you only had to write them and hear them.

"Yes, I am. My name is Yuen Moon Li, what is yours? And, do you happen to know where the land lord is? I'm rather lost." he wrote, showing the board. It was then that he noticed the individual's ears. How unusual! He thought to himself, taking a step closer, clearly curious. Why, they were more than twice as long as his own! And so pointy! Could they twitch and move on their own like his could, he wondered? Was this person also a Byakko?

He glanced around the foreigner, but saw no hint of a tail. Disappointed, he took off his coat, revealing his own, striped and flicking, grabbing the end and showing the short gender-neutral person.
"Where is your's? Did you lose it? Is that why your ears are so big?" he wrote, bamboozled by the first real, non-hungry Yokai he had ever come across.

Success! Turning her head up to the male addressing her, her ears went flat for a moment to give him that traditional "sad puppy" look before letting out a soft bark of sorts and taking the cookie he offered. Not as well known to her, she still took certain to lick Mattis's hand as a sign of her ever-present gratitude for the edibles. Ah, yes, now. Their savior had arrived! With the cuteness that she had in her Inugami form, Marie couldn't help but give her all of the cookies -- well, save the two that had been procured beforehand. Once the maid leaned down to give her the rest of the tray, she'd receive a bombardment of licking and nuzzling to her face before being let go for the sake of consuming the treats offered up towards her. No matter what anyone else said, they tasted fine to her!

As seen by her ravenous devouring of them.

Once the tray was (literally) licked clean, Exoris would lift her head and a small tilt would see to her...thinking. Hm. What to do here...Ah, yes, She couldn't actually talk when she was the Doge, now could she? With that, she sat up and began her little shaking to "wriggle" out of her Inugami form. From the presence of the blue dog-like creature came that of the girl once more. Stumbling up and brushing off her legs, she laughed and waved to the group.
"Ah, good afternoon! Good afternoon! Now that I've finally gotten something to eat, I'm feeling a bit better! Marie, your cookies are amazing as always.~"

Would say nobody else ever.

"Now, now. There are new people? Hiya! Nice to meet you and all of that jazz. I'm the resident food-eater....err.. Inugami. Exoris Magnolia! A pleasure to meet you- ...Lady, are you okay? You're seeming like you got kicked in the stomach by an angry kangaroo. Didja see something bad?"
