Regan was just returning from her walk, in fact, when she saw someone... trying her door? Perhaps it was her roommate, but if that was the case, why wouldn't she just use her key? Well, whatever the case... "Hey. You must be Yamada-san, right?" Regan approached the room and door, smiling softly. "Here, let me get that for you." With a gentle hand, the taller young woman moved Makoto aside and fished her key from her pocket. She unlocked the door and pushed her way inside, holding the door open for the girl to follow in after her. "Did you not receive your key, Yamada-san? Oh, ah, I should introduce myself. Hiryuu Regan. I'm going to be your roommate this year." She smiles warmly before stepping to her side of the room.

Though she's unpacked a bit, some of her clothes have yet to be sorted into their drawers, and she sets about doing that. She has some clothes to hand in the closet, though not many. Most of them go into the dresser, and there are a number of gi among her clothes, for martial arts. "We have classes within the hour, right? What's your first class for the day?" As she's unpacking her clothes, she puts a few manga on a shelf over her desk. Strawberry Panic and... Gurren Lagann. She pauses and looks at the Strawberry Panic volumes, and then over at Yamada, and then back to the manga... and then decides she doesn't care.

Shrugging, Kotone turned around--baring the much more extensive artwork, dominated by a coiling dragon, that adorned her back--and began to put her clothing back on. Still facing away from her white-haired roommate, she started to speak. "Yes, the rumours are true. My father runs a , and that is why my body is as much a canvas as anything the art club works on. This can be used as an excuse to move room--it happened multiple times last year."

Silently, and now dressed appropriately for lessons, she turned to the stack of posters on her desk and began sorting through them, picking which would adorn her half of the room this year--and who knew, she might get to put the rest up. A handful of expensive-looking cars and motorbikes, , and then... a series of posters, all of foreign bands. , and

Mikasa did her best to not dwell on the image continuously flashing in her thoughts of the topless girl she encountered moments ago. She set her bag on her bed and unzipped the center granting access to her several pairs of uniforms with few dresses and outfits for other occasions. She then listened as the other girl spoke up about Mikasa now having a reason to change rooms. She peaked over her shoulder for a split second to check if she were dressed. She usually has no issue with naked girls, with the changing room and public was rooms she sees plenty of other girls though this time it had taken her quite off guard; not expecting to see a topless girl in her room bright and early in the morning.

Seeing as she was now dressed she turned to face the girl, sitting on the edge of her bed with a puzzled look on her face. "Why would I change dorms? A girl with a tattoo is no reason to make a fuss." She softly laughed to herself. Mikasa had already been dressed for school before even arriving in the morning so she had hoped to spend their free time getting to know her roomie for the following year. "My name is Mikasa by the way, Hitsunai, Mikasa. I am a third year." She stated with a sweet smile, pushing herself up to her feet and outstretching a hand to shake.

The offered hand was ignored, though not due to any attempt at rudeness; Kotone was busy sticking the posters to the wall and had no idea that Mikasa was trying to shake her hand. Well, at first, at least--she had to turn around eventually. When she did, the taller girl's handshake was firm but considerably lacking in enthusiasm.

"Shinobu Kotone, second," she replied, before pulling out a chair and beginning to sort through even more of her belongings, now lining the shelves with... action figures? Collectibles was probably a better word; anyone buying those for a child to play with was either insane or enjoyed wasting money, "I doubt anyone else will share your views. What they signify is so much worse than what they are."

Haruka had been calmly pacing the hallways and had decided it was about time she went to look for her new roomate. However as she descended the steps suddenly an object moving at speed collided with her. It took her very little time to realise it was a person as it tried to grab for her shirt, missing in a distressed and flailing manner as the girl (it was a girl) began to fall back. Quick as lightning, Haruka reached out with her soldier arms and grasped the girl's wrist in a firm grip before her other arm caught her waist, ending up holding the young lady in a position reminiscent of a Tango dip. In the resulting moment of still adjustment to the situation, Haruka had time to study the face of her damsel, recognising it quickly as one of the first years from last term, someone she had defended a few times. What was her name? Aino? She couldnt quite remember her first name. A pretty girl with an extraordinary pale pink hair colour and round dainty features. She had seemed very shy last year and in need of protection in Haruka's eyes.

Once the moment of confusion had past, Haruka started and realised she had been dipping Aino-chan for far too long, pulling her upright next to her and looking her over with slight concern. "That was dangerous, are you hurt Aino-chan?"

Reiko was just wasting time at this point. Other students were probably exchanging greetings, getting to know their roommate and contributing to the sounds of excitement heard all around the area. Reiko wanted no part in the revelry, these feelings of joy and friendliness wouldn't last a week, of that she was certain. A week was just long enough for the initial feelings of friendship to devolve into annoyance, jealousy, mistrust, and eventual hatred. It's why making friends with her roommate was not going to be a top priority. The less spoken to each other, the less chance of future betrayal and humiliation. Still, she should at least go to her room, claim her bed, and get settled. Class was going to start before she knew it.

With a heavy sigh, Reiko stood from the bench and proceeded inside the dorms proper. The common room on the ground floor was buzzing with students, couches all occupied and chairs askew. She didn't envy the janitorial staff. Keeping her head low and her steps careful, Reiko made her way around the groups and crowds, taking the stairs up to the floor containing her room. 306. It was close to the stairs, which was good for making quick exits. Or escapes. She stood outside the door, debating whether to knock and announce her presence on the off-chance her roommate was already inside.

No knocking occurred as Reiko let herself into her room. Her roommate, Kuriyama-san, had already claimed a bed, leaving Reiko to take the one by the window. The view wasn't great, their room overlooked the school grounds pathways and not the nature side of things, but it was something. If Kuriyama made any immediate indication marking Reiko's arrival, it wasn't picked up by Reiko. She remained quiet as she placed her bags down and sat on her bed, Reiko took a glance at Kuriyama, noticing first her hair. Already they didn't have something in common. This was off to a good start.

Reiko sighed again, standing from her bed. She claimed the shelf and desk next to her bed as her own, sitting at the desk, she began to set up her books, placing famous works of drama right next to her book on the perfect way to prepare noodles.

"Man....that was a great nap." After a small yet pleasant, and well deserved, ciesta, Tohru rose from the bed stretching and yawning, popping her stiffened neck and loosening her tense joints. The metal queen felt perfectly relaxed and ready for another epic jam session, but she was unaware how much time had passed while she was out cold, dead to the world. Her blurry eyes, still half filled with sleep, scanned about the room till they fell on the nearby wall clock. "2:35 already?" Tohru mused scratching the back of her head. And still her roommate hadn't shown up yet. This was starting to be boring for her as usual. "Well...I guess I'll just meet and greet then." Maybe it was best she prowled around the dorms. Who knows, she might make a couple of friends here and there, despite the fact Tohru had nothing to do with most of these girls, or school for that matter. Standing to her feet, she stumbled over to the closet, where a uniform was already planned out for her. "Ugh...fascist much?" Uniforms, whoever thought of the damned and infernal identity killing suit should be shoved into a phone booth full of tarantulas, at least that was Tohru's personal commentary on school uniforms. That didn't mean she could make a few "alterations" though. "First, these gotta go." She clutched the sleeves of the white shirt and yanked them off with a satisfying rip.

After that, she went to work abusing and tarnishing the pristine condition of her seifuku, with a little help from some small trinkets in her guitar case. In the skirt, she shoved a few thick safety pins in the hem and finished it off with a bullet belt and a Motorhead buckle. Next, the shirt still needed a little more "finess." On the suffocating scarf, Tohru placed a silver demon head broach and scrawled on the pure white with a grisly black sharpie, "LILIUM SUXX!" with an anarchy "A" next to it. "Now that is a uniform." Stripping off, Tohru put on her newly improved clothing and did her hair in sort of a crazy, mohawk style. Her two studded bracelets and demonia boots would be a nice addition to this outfit as well. Dressed and ready to "meet and greet," Tohru stepped out of the dorm, where upon immediately the eyes of every girl in the hallway fell upon her in shock. Tohru gave them all an evil grin before turning heel and proudly marching down the hall clad in rawk gear from head to toe. "Heh, I think half these chicks would die if they had to wear Morbid Threads."

Heart beat racing and eyes shut tight as she fell back, Mira just hoped the landing wouldn't hurt too bad and that nobody would see her embarrassing moment. Who was she kidding though, once she hit the floor everyone would crowd around and burst into laughter. High school girls could be cruel. Lucky for her, some gift from up above came to her rescue. Mira opened her eyes slowly, confirming her disbelief that someone had indeed caught her. It took her a moment to register who it was as the initial shock had not yet worn off. Is this a dream? Mira looked around only with her eyes, noticing how a few students on the stairwell stopped to look at their tango. Her heart was beating even faster now, and she was sure the whole school could hear it.

Her face was hot, and her cheeks were tinted a dark shade of pink. She seemed unable to speak, but a sound managed to escape her lips. "H-Haruka-San..." She said, in a very airy voice. She stared into her steel blue eyes as the taller girl moved her to stand beside her. Mira started to feel lightheaded for a moment, and her vision blurred. She grabbed Haruka's shirt sleeve lightly for support, paranoid she might fall back again.

"Yes-No, I'm okay! I wasn't paying attention to where I was going and ran into you. I'm sorry, Haruka-San..." Mira smiled up at the girl, and used her free hand to rub her nose which turned out to be quite tender. itaii. It really was her fault, and she couldn't be mad at Haruka for minding her own business. She also would not let the third year student worry about how she was doing for a minute longer. How embarrassing... She mentally screamed at herself, noting this as another time Haruka had come to her rescue. Mira started back up the stairs, desperately wanting to get to her room.

~~~~~~
After making it to her room, she would discover her room mate had already moved in, but upon further inspection Tohru was no where to be found. With a deep sigh, she walked over to the side of the room that seemed untouched, as opposed to the bed that looked like someone just slept in it. She sat down on her bed and laid back. It felt good to be out of the spotlight. Today was not a good start for her, or was it? She did get saved by Haruka-san, a beautiful, respectable person. She touched her delicate fingers to her nose, wincing as she remembered the days events, and then looked at her wrist. Mira rolled onto her side and studied Tohrus side of the room indifferently. A guitar? Her interest suddenly grew knowing she would be rooming with a fellow musician.
What a roommate, openly answering about what she was drawing when drawing something so...shall we say, interesting. She didn't finish her sentence, though, so Cho wasn't certain precisely what the roomie was drawing. Until she dropped the sketchpad, at least. Cho recognized the illustration as being of the headmistress; she'd seen the woman plenty of times. But never quite like this girl was drawing her. That probably had to do with the fact that Cho had never seen the headmistress in a particularly intimate scenario, or otherwise unprofessional in any way. This drawing had her quite like nobody would ever see her in person on campus. It was worthy of a quick chuckle on Cho's part before the roommate leapt onto her sketchpad to conceal the image.
"I saw everything," Cho honestly answered. "There's no shame in art, no matter what others might say. Even if you were some weird perv, people would still probably like your art more than mine." To make her point clear, Cho opened up one of her bags - this one a red suitcase - and pulled out a framed painting. Not elaborately framed like a classy family portrait, but framed so that it wouldn't get torn or damaged. It depicted...Cho wasn't really sure what she'd drawn that time, actually. Just that she used a lot of red. A lot of red. Maybe it was a bulging set of jet-black eyes peering at the viewer from a field of bloody red, accompanied by a disturbing red smile subtly painted in so that it would gradually reveal itself as a creepy optical illusion. When Cho hung it up and took a few steps back, that was actually exactly what she saw. "See? Next to what I draw, your stuff doesn't bug me that much."
"This is exactly what Mom and Dad were worried about" Saeko said to herself as she scrambled out towards her dorm.
She had been sitting on the side of a path, swinging around a stick she found at imaginary goblins and casting spells on them. She was quite pleased with herself actually, that was until she realized that the sun had moved in the sky. Having lost track of time, she had no idea how long she was slaying foul agents of darkness, but it was too long. Scampering away, she entered and went to find her new abode. Yes indeed, a new kingdom for the seasoned hero: Saeko Naiko, Champion of Sapporo. That was her official title...in the imaginary world that she liked to think was real. She knew it wasn't, but a little adventure never hurt anyone, even if it was only in a far off land of imagination. However, the spellbook was very real to her, hand made by her very own self out of a beautiful leather bound journal, so arcane looking and magnificent. She had learned two Elvish languages, so that she could write in the language of the master spell casters. That would have been if Mr. Tolkien had ever completed those languages...but dedicated students like herself could always create new words to fill in the blanks that the master of fantasy had not given them
Upon reaching the door of her dorm, the imagination took hold again. With swift, heroic movements, she opened the door to face her new companion. Her vorporal, yet incorporeal blade resting weightless like the air it was made of, she looked in.
No one...
"I could have sworn the said i would have a roommate?" she said to herself. "Is she not here? How can anyone be later than me...." she said out loud before walking into the room. "Maybe I wont be the only screw up here!" she squeaked happily before closing the door.
Makoto glanced suspiciously at the girl that approached, who seemed to be aware of her (clearly fake) identity as Makoto Yamada. How did she obtain such information?! She had a key? Why was that girl so much taller?!
With access now granted, Makoto slunk inside, with the air of someone ready to defend themselves at a moment's notice. There didn't seem to be any traps placed... but that Regan girl could be an agent of Light! She couldn't drop her guard at all. Best to assert her power early, make sure there was no misunderstandings about who was really in control!
"Hiryuu Regan, was it?" Makoto declared in the most obviously forced authoritative voice possible as she pointed in an equally hammy manner towards her roommate, "Know this! I, the one you know as Makoto Yamada, will not submit to Order! Chaos shall reign supreme and claim this world in its rightful grasp! Do not sway me witth your deceitful words, for I will not be fooled!"
With that done, Makoto smiled smugly for a moment, though her lips slowly drooped as she quietly muttered, "And, um, I forgot what class is first..."
The smaller girl's belongings were still packed away, though some evidence suggested that she had a lot of strange, dark and gothic items and pictures. Mostly fox-themed. There were even some elaborate costumes, to be worn when she could get away with it.
Takako had felt like she stuck out like a sore thumb as she sat in the auditorium, surrounded by all the other first years. There was an air of nervous excitement that she shared with them, but they also all carried a certain level of refinement that she felt a distinct lack of. They all held their heads high and sat with perfect posture, even as they chattered amongst themselves and looked around excitedly, while Takako slumped slightly in her seat. The difference between herself and her peers had been obvious from the moment she'd arrived at the academy. She'd stumbled out of her cheap taxi, carrying her brown twenty year old hand-me-down suitcase, only to be confronted by the sight of a girl no older than herself stepping gracefully out of a , of all things, helped by an aide who carried her pristine pastel pink luggage for her. Welcome to the elite class indeed...Once the opening ceremony had concluded and the students had been dismissed, Takako had found herself swept along by the crowd, everyone rushing to see what rooms they were in. Takako just tried not to step on anyones toes as she reached the bulletin board. She was slightly shorter than everyone around her so she had to strain up onto her tip-toes to see the board clearly as she scanned it for her name. She found it and noted the number alongside it before carefully weaving her way out of the crowd of excitable girls. Breathing a sigh of relief at having escaped she tightened her grip on her cheap suitcase and, remembering the layout of the school from the map she had memorised, made her way towards the large student dorm.Takako stopped in front of the dorm building and stared up at it in awe. She had been expecting it to be big but the sight still rendered her speechless. She was going to be living in this place for the next three years? It was bigger than the whole building of her old school! Her gawking was suddenly interrupted when another first year, rushing to meet one of her friends, bumped into her back as she ran past. The girl gave a short apology over her shoulder but didn't even break her stride. Takako, on the other hand, almost toppled forwards and ended up dropping her suitcase. The clasps on the case sprang open when it hit the ground and spat most of her belongings out onto the ground, a mass of old clothes, 100 yen store accessories and, contrastingly, shiny brand new textbooks that she'd only be able to get her hands on thanks to her scholarship. Takako scrambled to the ground, hastily scooping the things back into the suitcase in a distinctly unladylike fashion, her face turning a dark shade of red as some girls stopped to look.
There was a moment of brief and intimate silence as the pair stood together and Aino-chan tried to catch her breath. Haruka was very conscious of her small hand clutching at her shirt sleeve and was a little worried about how flushed she was becoming. However before Haruka could say anything else, Aino-chan said something garbled about being fine, frowned with some degree of what Haruka thought was embarrassment and took off up the stairs. The elder sempai considered going after her very briefly but decided quickly it was best she just leave her alone, it was time to get to her dorm room and meet her new roomate anyway. She made her way towards the main entrance, needing to get her bareings on where her dorm was in relation to the building and the rest of the school. At the entrance she saw someone a little way away apparently struggling with alot of tossed and strewn books and clothes. She immediately rushed to their aid, dipping to pick up various articles of attire or school work and gathering them up into a neatish pile. She did all this quite quietly, although she smiled at the young girl warmly, noting the first year colours and trying not too seem too daunting.
Her roommate was guarded. Why? She'd made no threat, and she didn't expect there to be a threat in their room. That's part of why she locked the door... while they were within the Academy grounds, there were always strangers about. Being too trusting could easily be a mistake. It was just basic security.
Those thoughts were pushed from her mind as her roommate introduced herself. That was certainly an interesting first impression, but now the ball was in her court. She has to follow that up with something, though, doesn't she?
"You forgot your schedule? That won't do, Yamada-san. Even if you are an agent of Chaos, how do you expect to survive here with such obvious behavior? If you're going to infiltrate the enemy base, then you need to blend in more. Schedules may be against your very being, but you'll need to abide by them if you hope to survive."
They're roommates, after all. She shouldn't alienate the girl in her own room. If there's one person she makes her friend, it should be this girl.
"You should hurry and find your schedule. I've got mine right here." She picked up a piece of paper from her desk, showing it to her roommate briefly before looking it over, herself. First class... "Math? Nnngh..."
Though her laundry was unpacked, there were still a few cases on her side of the room. One of them was shaped like a guitar, but... for a guitar, the shape was a little funny. It was a shamisen, though she didn't expect a lot of girls her age to know that from the shape. There were also a few sheathed katana propped up against the wall in the corner, though Regan was currently going about setting them on their display stands. One of the short ones goes on her bookshelf, acting as a prop to keep her manga from falling over.
Junko had practically drifted off into a brief nap when a faint sound of someone in the room startled her. Her eyes opened wide, and even though still drowsy, sat straight up and looked around the room. It was just as she assumed, her roommate, Reiko Ishida, had already arrived and had made herself comfortable.
“O-Oh, hello, uh, howdy, nice to meet you Ishida san...!” Junko's words slurred together nervously and by the time they came out she already regretted it. She tried to laugh it off, but she just ended up sounding mental.
Her roommate seemed nice, very reserved with boyish features that complimented her. She was reading something that looked like a cookbook, and Junko couldn't help but feel a little disappointed. “She's probably not really into sports or anything...” Junko cracked her neck to adjust her body to getting up from a nap.
Despite making a few rounds about the dorms and the school grounds, Tohru had no luck in finding much acquaintance. Most of the girls were either scared to death of her intimidating wardrobe, or they scoffed her at first sight, not that the teen cared really. It was just a waste of time and effort when Tohru could've just crashed at her dorm and played her guitar all day without a single damn given. Giving a rather weary sigh of defeat, Tohru trudged back to the dorm hall and up the stairs to the third floor, catching a few more glances and a few bouts of insulting laughter at her appearance. "Yeah yeah....keep on pushing me, ya brats, and I'll show you just how scary I am." It was evident enough she wasn't wanted here, a street punk with a criminal record in a school of elitists and high class dames. What the hell were the cops thinking of sending her here? Were they thinking she'd be indoctrinated into being a "model citizen" like the rest of the robot children of Tokyo? Like hell Tohru would ever change her natural ways. This is who she was and she was damn proud of it, but.....it sure wasn't making her much friends. "Meh...who gives a rip really? I already have my friends, music...and...me."
Relief was only a few paces away as Tohru spotted the door, but it seemed as though someone was already occupying it before her, her roommate perhaps. So much for being alone all day, but the company might be nice for Tohru, that is if her roommate wasn't freaked out by her at first impression or was one of the types to throw her guitar out the window. Ooh if that ever happened once to Tohru, the police would have to add homicide to her criminal record, next to theft and truancy ignorance. Turning the knob rather brash, she flung the door open, and to her surprise.....there was this chick with pink hair looking at her guitar on display. "Uh....hey." She gave an awkward greeting with a light wave. This was her roommate? Tohru already had a feeling this was not gonna go perfectly as she presumed. For starters, this girl's appearance to Tohru screamed pop princess, from the pink hair to how fancily dressed she was. That was the first warning light blaring at the rocker, but wait....her hands.... Tohru recognized those hands from anywhere, the callouses upon her dainty fingers. This girl was also a musician, so perchance this wouldn't be too bad for Tohru. "So....you're my new roomie. eh?" Wonder what music she was into? At least there were some rock/pop bands Tohru could stomach like Flyleaf or Evanescence.
Mira jumped when the door flung open to reveal a young lady with an auburn angular bob, dressed in a very rocker chic version of their school uniform. She got up from her bed, and smoothed her simple, yet expensive dress with her hands before walking over to greet her new room mate. Mira thought her to be a cute girl, in a very unconventional way. She hadn't seen anyone else in the school dressed like her, and found her whole outfit to be refreshing. She wondered if she would do hers, but in a more subtle way. Better wait to ask.
With a small smile, she extended her hand to Tohru. "I'm Aino Mira, your new room mate. You're Honada-san, right?" Mira blushed nervously, she knew Tohru was probably judging her. Her facial expression said it all, and she wouldn't be shocked if Tohru told her to leave her alone. Those were the types of vibes she was getting.
She glanced behind her to look at Tohru's instrument. "So, you play the guitar, right?" Mira found herself genuinely interested in her new roomies musical abilities.
Makoto's reply to the schedule comment was to avert her gaze and pout. And what she said after made sense, too. The odds were against her... and she hated Math, from the sounds of things. Either Makoto had found a kindred spirit, or Order was much more devious than she would have thought in selecting their spy.
Well, her schedule would turn up somewhere, the miniature girl supposed. For now, she might as well establish her base.
And so, Makoto focused on pulling out belongings and haphazardly laying them all around her. From clothes, to textbooks, to what appeared to be notebooks filled with nonsensical ramblings, and even what appeared to be the occasional toy, it was obvious that she took her... hobby seriously.
Amidst this messy unpacking, Makoto stopped to flip open a notebook, murmuring to herself about raising an army. She would use this society's own system against itself and establish a powerful foothold with the utmost haste!
With a dramatic flourish, Makoto turned to Regan with a wide grin, "Light one! Won't you consider discarding your allegiance and joining me?! You will be the first of many soldiers in my grand army!"
"Stupid and annoying? Planning something?" Rika thought to herself, pausing halfway between the door and her roommate with her right hand still extended in greeting. Could it be that Himawari-san had somehow already figured out her true form deep down below her idol exterior? No, that couldn't be it. So far the only interaction the two has had together was her knocking and introducing herself, as far as she could remember. Had she somehow already been stupid and annoying during that time? She remained motionless while she considered what to do next. Then it hit her. She had played the part of some tsundere's before, so perhaps this was this very scenario. She'd need to be careful as to not make an enemy of her, especially if the two had the share the same room for the entire school year. Her mind raced with ideas how to counter this new "tsun" threat and turn this girl to the "dere" side of the tsundere. Her character had managed to overcome the problem with the help of a shounen hero. She'd have to somehow take on the role of such a character but in real life. It might take time, but she just might be able to succeed if she used all of her knowledge of this issue to it's fullest potential.
"Don't worry my little Tsundere," she thought to herself, "I'm willing to take all of the tsun you can deal out if it's to save you!"
She went down on one knee to get within eye reach, extending her hand right in front of her even further so that it cannot be ignored.
"Don't worry, Himawari-san. I'm sure we'll get along just fine. You have a lovely plushy collection, by the way," she said elegantly. In the background she could hear some sort of foreign sounding heavy rock blasting through the walls, but it had since died down. Rika herself was way more into pop, which is the genre that most idols sang, but to each their own, she guessed.
"Uh....yeah." Of course she was. There was no fact denying Mira's had her hands on an instrument or two, and to be honest, the girl wasn't that bad looking to Tohru. In fact, she thought this other girl was.....kinda cute. "Oh and cut the formalities, will you. It's just Tohru, mkay? No san or senpai junk. I don't really go for that." Sitting on her bed from across Mira's, Tohru grabbed her guitar and strummed a few notes on clean. She wasn't going to blare out the distortion just yet. "So you're a musician too I guess? Know of any good bands?" For some reason, she started strumming the intro riff to Nothing Else Matters. Jeez, she's been playing alot of Metallica lately. Must've been a kick she was on. For a few seconds, she would glance up from the strings and look at Mira, sort of an odd feeling buzzing about her head about this girl. "Well...I know some, but I don't think you'd be into them, which is cool. I ain't one to judge. Just don't go playing any J-pop or god awful A-pop around me. That stuff makes my ears bleed."
While she played, she started to get into the music and sing along, "So close, no matter how far. Couldn't be much more from the heart. Forever trust in who we are. And nothing else matters..."
As Reiko was shelving her books, she couldn't help but crack open one of the recipe books. If there was anything she enjoyed more than the fine arts, it was cooking. Inherited from her father, most likely, she could listen to him go on and on about the right temperature to boil the noodles at for hours; well, not literally, but he had a way of making otherwise mundane information sound as enthralling as the works of Kobo Abe. With her roommate apparently taking a catnap, Reiko took the opportunity to flip through the book, smiling at the perfectly prepared dishes on display. She became so enraptured in the book, that she didn't notice the slight drool forming at the corner of her mouth.
At least until the greeting from her now-awoken roommate snapped her back to reality. She turned in her chair, taken aback. Awkwardly, she wiped the drool from her mouth with the back of her hand. Closing the book quickly, Reiko stood and gave a short, messy bow that was far more awkward than graceful or polite. By the time her head was back up and facing Kuriyama, her calm, collected, mature nature was restored.
"Ah, Kuriyama-san, nice to met you. I would've woken you, but your face looked cute and I couldn't bring myself to do it. Kind of like a dog." It took her a few seconds after that sentence to realize exactly what she said, and when she did, it was followed by immediate blushing and more sincere bows of apology. "I didn't mean to say you're a dog or anything, I just..." Reiko cleared her throat and walked towards the occupied bed, extending her hand. "Reiko Ishida. Let's get along this year."
Reiko was forcing a smile, hoping that would be enough to smooth over the rocky introduction.
Her roommate was certainly... interesting. What was the term? Chuunibyou? Yeah, that one. Even so, it seemed as though the girl was having fun, and it wasn't like she was being destructive, either. She couldn't help but wonder what kinds of toys the girl had, and if the ones she had here were all of them. Probably not, considering she left a bit of her weapon collection at home, only bringing her katana.
Before she could ponder her roommate further, the girl posed her a question. A rather nonsensical question, to the average listener. "A soldier? Mmm, that's all? You're asking quite a bit, Dark One. To forgo my allegiance to the Light, only to become... a soldier? No, if I were to do that, I would have to be a General, not a mere soldier."
It certainly seemed harmless enough, at least. Even with all the talk of raising an army, she really doubted this adorable girl would do any serious harm.
