[IC] Curse of the Beasts

Inigo, becoming restless from simply lounging about in the parlour, decided to get up and stroll about the manor, taking what he thought of as the scenic route, paintings on the walls as far as the eye could see. However, as he rounded another corner to find their newest member of the staff seeming somewhat lost. "Hello there, Nico. Is something the matter? You seem as if you've lost something.." he states as he approaches her.

"Exactly. I don't know. I can't judge you if I don't know anything about you. That wouldn't be fair to anyone." Allie brought her knees up to her chest, the book getting better and better as she went along.

Allie had a point. "You're oddly optimistic," Rex said. "Why? You don't want to be here. You were forced to come here, after all."

Kyle snapped his book shut, he was leaning against another statue of a gargoyle beast."You'll have to pay for that, you know."He held up a hand and cut off her inevitable question."Before you can ask, I'm not here because I followed you. This is a nice place to read."That was.... Partially true. After introducing himself in the parlor, he had hung back and observed the goings on and read from his book. It wasn't until the visitors and his brothers started to drift away that he noticed he wasn't the only one just observing.He studied the girl until she left the room, fir some unknown reason she piqued his curiosity. So he had followed her until she got to the garden.Buy honestly it a nice place to read as well.

I glanced up at the unfamiliar voice, only to find myself face-to-face with none other than one of the 'beasts'. Apparently I'll have to pay for the damage to the statue beside me. I am tempted to ask, 'with what?' but he cuts me off, informing me that his presence is certainly not because of me. Ouch. If I cared, I might have even been offended. I glanced at the book in his hand, eyes glancing over the familiar title, before replying in a mildly sarcastic tone. "Right. Sorry for, ah, disturbing you." My expression undoubtedly gave away my opinion of him and his cold air, but I turned, stuffing the finger between the lips of the cherub as I did, making it appear as though it were smoking some sort of cigar.

Marlix watched as Kyle "dealt" with the girl, and sighed. What the hell was he going to do now? He decided to do what he was doing before, and try to find -ahem- "Nico".

Ruko continued through the halls until he eventually found Zack walking out of his studio. "Hello, Zack. What have you been doing this whole time?" He spoke fairly quietly, but that wasn't exactly abnormal to the brunette. He felt that his other brothers were plenty loud enough to make up for him. More importantly, he was curious about what his other sibling was carrying. Had he been at work at another masterpiece of his?

"I have just finished a picture of our first meeting with our guest." Zack told him proudly. He turned the picture so that Rumor could see his work. He had word hard to duplicate the meeting exactly the way he remembered it. Marlix in the skirt. He and Rex laughing their fool heads off. The girls looks of disbelief and confusion. Even Inigo's late entrance behind the girls. He was sure that he had gotten all the details perfect. "What do you think?"

Allie bit the inside of her cheek. Why was she so optimistic? "I'll admit that I didn't want to come here. I had myself a small cabin in a secluded area in the woods; all day I would read and watch nature. I didn't want to be forced out of my home, but I realized that I could either mope about it the entire time, or I could actually try to enjoy my stay. It really is a very beautiful home that you've got here." As the words poured out of her, she knew they were true.

She read? She observed nature? Rex's curiosity was piqued. He moved out of the shadows, jumping down to reveal himself properly. Hayabusa flew to his shoulder. Rex had tempered himself to the raptor's talons. "Perhaps you'd like to see the surrounding area?" he asked. "The woods are lovely, and there's a lake I enjoy fishing at."

"I think it's amazing. I've always wished that I could be that talented. But you've always had an eye for this, haven't you?" Ruko took a moment to appreciate the artwork, almost wanting to laugh a bit himself now that he saw exactly what had been happening in full. He was surprised that he had missed so much even though he was in the room. "I wonder how the others are doing so far. I hope Marlix isn't still upset. I kind of wish that I had caught him earlier in the morning so he would have known."

Nina tried to figure out if she turned left here... or was it right? Maybe she wasn't here before...? She tried to remember her path from her room, but it was useless. She had only succeeded in getting far more lost than she had been before. She was about to try and find the parlor and the boys to ask for directions when the boy who introduced himself as Inigo before approached her and asked if something was wrong. "Oh, um..." Nina half didn't want to admit that she was lost on her first day, but she didn't have a choice, "I was trying to go to the kitchen but... I got a little lost..." she played with her hair as she spoke, twisting some of the longer strands to try and not look too embarrassed. Not to mention she'd just said she'd help Val to the best of her ability too... her first day wasn't going smoothly as she hoped it would be...

Allie looked up at figure looming above her, surprised that he had come down so soon. Standing up, she smiled. "I'd love to. Oh, here's the book that you knocked off of the shelve earlier. I believe it's yours." she held the book out to him.

"I am sure Marlix is still upset. If I had found him earlier i would have warned him but by the time I found him so hard the girls. Why we go show the others? I would like to have their thoughts." It would be interesting to see the girls' reactions. Maybe that would give him an idea who his partner was going to be. The girls were suppose to help the tame their inner beasts some how. "Who do you think will turn first?"

Rex took it with a quiet thanks. "I need to run to my room," he said. "Go out to the garden and wait." He whispered something to Hayabusa, who flew through the open library doors. "Follow Hayabusa. He knows the way."

[Allie]

"Alright." Allie started following Hayabusa, staying close but not too close so she wasn't in his flying space. She laughed quietly to herself. She never imagined that she'd be following a hawk through a house. This was actually kind of fun.

Hayabusa led Allie out to the garden, and then perched on top of the fountain. Rex came out perhaps fifteen minutes later. He had two fishing poles, as well as a knife.

Allie was quietly watching Hayabusa when Rex finally came out. She noticed the fishing poles and knife. Her face lit up. "Oh, we're going fishing? I've always wanted to!"

Rex nodded. "Fishing is a good way to think," he said. "I prefer catch and release, but I think fresh fish would be good for supper."

Ruko sighed. "I was hoping that no one would, but I don't think that's very practical, is it? Rex has seemed a bit extra on edge as of late, so I'm really worried about him. Has he been talking to himself a lot? Sometimes I think I hear his voice and he's the only one around when I enter the room." The bespectacled boy shook his head. "I hope he'll be okay as well. Inigo will probably be fine; he doesn't seem like he'll be easily shaken. And Kyle...actually, I don't know about him at all. He seems fairly level-headed usually, but I still wonder..."

Shrugging, he fixed his glasses and tried to smile again. "Let's just go find the others. I'm sure I just worry too much."

Allie nodded. "Yeah. I feel the same, but you're right." She smiled at Rex, really excited. "I don't know how to, but I'm sure it's easy once you get the hang of it. I'm glad we're doing this though. I haven't had any time to think and relax since I was chosen to come here."
