OPENING POST:

June 4, 2014

"Well, it's quite obvious from the 4 adult eyewitnesses that Nathan here has gotten himself into quite a bit of trouble...again,", the principal of Nathan's old school, Bridgeway High, exclaimed, shaking his head.
"But we're here to make an offer," Nathan's homeroom teacher said, pulling up a slideshow. "Eden High. It's a good opportunity for Nathan to catch up on his grades...and his attitude. What would you say?"
"It sounds like utter crap." Nathan remarked. "It's a waste of your time and a waste of your money. I'm fine here."
"Don't listen to him." Nathan's mother cut in. "I think it's a wonderful opportunity for Nathan and we'll be willing to pay the scholarship for him."
"I knew you'd say that", the principal continued. "We've already managed to reserve a dormitory and cut a 20% discount on your scholarship. They'll be delighted to have you here. Maybe you'll make some new friends."
"I have good friends here!" Nathan exclaimed, rising up from his seat. "I'm not going to some stuck up boarding school! And my opinion's not changing!"
"Well, we've decided already, so too bad." Nathan's father remarked. "We're giving this a try for you and for us. Anyways, it'll be your last year and your last chance to make up your grades. We've tried hard enough to get you into college and MAYBE if you just paid attention more, you could've done a lot better!" Nathan's dad calmed his self down and sat back down, a bit stressed, for obvious reasons.
"Well then, here is a map of the school and all you'll need to k-"

Day 1: 09/12 9:30 AM
Nathan was woken on the bus with a loud bump as the bus neared its final stretch towards the school. Looking ahead, he could see a sign reading, "Welcome to Eden Boarding School - Embrace The New You." He stretched back in his seat and looked at the aisle of seats to the left of him, noticing a blank aisle. The bus had been fairly modern, painted with a glossy green finish and sporting the school's logo. Even the bus interior was pretty fancy, there weren't any food wrappers or rust building up and the windows were freshly washed. At least if the bus looked this good, maybe the school would look just as "stunning". This was a simple waste of his time. Now he had to spend an entire 8 months at this academy rather than living where he should be, in his gaming room in the basement. And even if they had 'top notch' teaching, why would he have to bother learning? And just where were they going to think about correcting his so called 'rebellious' attitude?

Alexis, no Alex, was sitting on the bus that would take her to Eden Boarding School. The place that had destroyed her best male friend. Turned him into a freaking girl. She had three main goals while she was here. One, don't let them change her. Two, get proof and expose this place to the outside world, getting them shutdown and hopefully thrown in prison. Or dead, dead would be good too. Three, find a way to reverse it so that she could have her friend back. Alex was really a girl, but for the sake of getting proof, she was entering this school as a boy. If they were really changing the boys, not like they would notice anyway. Even at seventeen, she had more of a boyish build anyway. It wasn't that hard to do. She sat on this demon bus, completely engrossed in her old GBA. Even though the system was getting older, it was still incredibly fun to play. Right now she was playing good old Pokemon Firered, her favorite game for said Gameboy. She had brought her entire collection of handheld games and systems with her. She had to have something to keep her sane here.

She wished she could have brought her consoles, but she didn't know if there would be a TV in her room. And there was no way she was hooking up her precious systems to a TV that everybody shared. They were her hard earned games and systems, she wasn't sharing with some jerks who wouldn't take care of it properly. Which was why when the boy sitting next to her had seen the amount of games and systems in her bag, asked to play one. She had promptly told him no. When the boy asked him why, she told him because she didn't want his disgusting hands touching her stuff and allowed him to watch her play. She even let him pick the game she played. He ended up doing just that and the two had quietly conversed about different strategies of said game. Or which Pokemon were better to use.

She looked up when the boy muttered something about the school's saying being weird. She saw what the sign said and snorted. "It isn't just weird." She said loudly enough for everyone to hear. "Its stupid. I don't want to be new, I'm perfectly happy the way I am. And if people don't like that, they can go fuck themselves." The boy across the bus from her reached out to high five her. Apparently she was playing the part of a boy really well. And all it took was being herself. She leaned out across the way and accepted the high five. Nearly falling out of her seat when they hit a bump. The boy sitting next to her grabbed her arm and saved her, and more importantly her GBA. With that, she allowed him to play the system for the rest of the way to the school.

Kathy Willheart readied her set speech to give to the students each year, which was getting quite old after the 3rd time. She still had until 10:00 for the assembly to start, so she just sat there and made some last minute edits, she had all of the paperwork done for the first week or so. She knew what would happen in the first few days, she'd seen it happen 3 times already, but it wouldn't hurt to be ready. She walked over to the arcade to do a last minute check up on the micro chips.

Shay was awoken by the bouncing of some object on his head and the giggling of boys behind them. He rubbed his face to wake up, unsure of where he was. He looked around, seeing if he could identify anything in the nearby area. After a few moments of looking, he realized he was on the bus to Eden. He had been so excited this morning, he remembered, he barely slept last night. Long trips can do a number on even the most enthusiastic, he though.

He pulled out his notebook. He figured he might as well write a little bit. He had at least thirty prompts in his notebook, but he had rarely gotten any of them past the first page. A shame, in his opinion, but he had no muse to continue them, so what could he do? He tried to get himself to write something, even a few sentences, just so he could do more than look at an empty page.

Just then he had heard someone talk about being who they are or something like that. He looked back to see the boy standing from his seat and celebrating his small speech with other surrounding boys. He turned back to his notebook, writing down what he remembered from the statement. He was sure he could write something from that.

Nathan was going to turn on his laptop, but it was low on battery. The bus ride was rather long and he used most of it on some offline games. "Well then, time to see who's in the back." He looked behind and saw one of the boys standing up in front of him, with a couple of boys and one girl applauding. "Well, wonderful, glad to see there's someone who doesn't care about the rules.", he thought. He decided to talk to the boy standing up, he could always use someone like him in his dorm. "Hey there, name's Nathan.", he introduced himself from a row in the front, turning around and kneeling up on the seat, so the boy could see him.

Alex settled back into her seat after handing the boy sitting next her to the Gameboy. She gave him two rules for using her system. Don't drop it and don't mess with her Pokemon team. He was totally fine with that since they had been discussing the team since they had begun to play it. If he had failed to follow one or both of those rules, then his consequence would be the destruction of his boy bits. She may have been pretending to be a boy, but she was still not afraid to hit him where it hurt. She had just barely gotten through with this when the guy in seat in front of her turned around. Kneeling on the seat. "Hey yourself. I'm Alex." She said, "It isn't short for Alexander or anything, just Alex." She added, though technically it was short for Alexis. But there was no way she was saying that.

She had already taken pictures of a bunch of people on the bus. She planned on doing it everyday so she would have proof of the transformation. She didn't know how they did it yet, but she would have to make sure to avoid it. Who knew what it would do to girls. And she really didn't want any shrinking or growing of parts. As she had said before, she liked herself exactly the way she was. And she would fight to stay that way. She would fight to make sure all of them stayed that way. It wasn't right was this school was doing. And her best male friend had paid the price for the sadistic minds of people who created this school.

She was on a one girl revolution to stop this place. And wouldn't stop until she succeeded. Nothing and nobody was going to get in her way.

The bus was approaching the school and a large metal gate started to swing open from the inside to let the school bus through. The school could be seen in its full glory now. "Well, nice to know you, see you later." Nathan replied, then sat back down as he looked out the window as the bus slowed down a bit for the students to take a look at the scenery. There was a large banner on the front of the school which looked like a collaboration of a bunch of students that read 'Welcome to Eden High!', even though the i looked like it was worn down and peeling off. Nathan did a final inventory check of his luggage and started to pack up for when he had to head out.

Looking at his pamphlet of the school at the 'Opening Day' portion, he had half an hour to get a key and get his stuff dropped off, then there was supposed to be an assembly. He already had his number in his head, 416. He always preferred even numbers over odd.

As the school bus went through the gates, a prerecorded audio sample began to play from small speakers on the bus by the principal, Nathan suspected. "Welcome to Eden High, a very prestigious boarding school we are proud to present you with. Since we don't have much time until your bus stops, here are some basic guidelines. You will have until 10:00 AM to get your key and your room sticker from the office to the left. Be sure to drop off your stuff in your room and use the sticker with your full name on it on the door," the voice continued, displaying a CGI animation of a person doing what she was telling. "Finally, once you're all settled down, please head into the assembly room, where you will get to know your school a bit more with an opening assembly." The speakers shut down along with the screens.

They drove for a few minutes before the school came into view. He was mentally removed from his place of half-awareness into the realm of an exciting reality. He shoved his book back into it's place, trying not to look overly excited. This was when it would start, a new adventure into an exciting academic experience. He realized just how embarrassing that sounded in his head, that's the kind of stuff you find on school flyers, not in anyone's mind. Still, he couldn't help but be excited.

He listened the announcement on the speakers. It seemed simple enough instruction. Until he realized he had to pick a room. He rubbed his face out of worry.

While it was no big deal for most people, this was something that could cause Shay a lot of unneccessary stress. He could easily end up picking the wrong room, maybe taking a room from the wrong guy or he could end up getting really crappy room mates. Or maybe there were guidelines about picking rooms he wasn't aware about and he would end up totally embarrassing himself. It was all he could do to keep himself composed thinking about these scenarios. Maybe he could just ask for any room. But what if that's wrong too?

He decided to just stay in his seat and try not to look as stressed as he felt. He would wait until there were few people left, that way if he embarrassed himself it wouldn't be in front of everyone. But maybe it would be in front of the wrong people and then suddenly everyone will know about the guy who did a dumb thing. Maybe if he just sat there looking desperate enough someone will help him. But that's a pretty childish thing to do for his age. Maybe he could just wait until everyone's gone, but then he could be late for the assembly. He continued to sit and sort through the possibilities, finding little success in creating a solution.

"It's official, man. We're doing it, tonight." Avery told Nathan. Avery was one of Nathan's old friends back in his old school and probably his second in law when it came to vandalism and breaking the rules.
"Paint cans, check. Flashlight, check. Caffeine pills, you're bringing those, right?" Nathan muttered to Avery, checking off what they would need for a late night attack. They were going to spray paint the school. Top to bottom. And anyways, it was almost the end of school, they couldn't expel him at this point, now could they?
"I'll bring the pills, trust me. I got plenty of them for all-nighters. Well, see you tonight. 12:30AM, not a minute later!" Avery finished and winked at Nathan, getting on his bike and going down the rode back to his house.
To be honest, Nathan wasn't even nervous. He'd done this several times before. But little did he know of the school's new security cameras that would lead him to his grave, or a 'scholarship'.

September 12, 2014 9:36 AM

Nathan was idly waiting with his bags for the school bus to finally stop as it went through the iron gates. Doing some mental work, he needed to run to the office as fast as possible to get the first key and avoid a 20 minute lineup or so. He grabbed his luggage, then realized he was at the back, so he would be one of the last ones off, and probably one of the last ones to the office, which meant even more standing up. "Dammit!", he scolded under his breath, as he tried thinking of a way to get there faster.

Alex breathed an tiny inaudible sigh of relief as Nathan turned back around. She was doing just fine tricking the boys. As long as she could keep it up everything would be fine. She got her Gamboy back from the guy sitting next to her and gathered up her bags as they approached the school. She wasn't worried about getting her room quickly or anything. As long as she made it to the assembly, she had to see what was up with that. Not that she actually cared about the assembly. But they might say something about the forceful changing. She also wanted to get a picture of the man or woman in change. Whoever they were was completely fucked up and she already hated them with a burning passion. The tallish girl stood up when the bus finally came to a stop, filing off with everyone.

She waited patiently until somebody actually told them where the office was. The school looked nice enough, but after you knew the dark secret inside, all you could see was evil. She adjusted the bag on her shoulder so it didn't fall. She had two bags, a backpack filled with her game collection and womanly supplies that she had to keep secret. And her duffel bag with everything else, clothes, toiletries, etc. She'd have to see which rooms didn't have anybody in them when it was her turn. Because it would be tough to keep her secret while sharing a room with somebody. And from what she had read in the pamphlet, you didn't have to share a room with anybody.

Nathan ran up the steps to the school as fast as he could luggage in hand. He staggered and lost control a few times with his luggage on the white concrete stairs that went up to the school and was out of breath by the time he reached the top, but managed to score a early place in the lineup for the room signups, but not the front. He then got his first glimpse of the school while waiting outside of the office while the other people got their numbers. It was quite fancy and probably set up to give a first timer a sense of luxury. He did notice an arcade over the far east, which looked good, but he could probably try that out later. He had a line to wait in and he wasn't going to give up his spot. Meanwhile, he glanced towards the TV screen, which played the same recording as in the bus, probably because there was nothing else to say.

The key machine was almost like an ATM with a touchscreen. He watched a student put in his number '320' on the screen and watched the machine spit out the keys for his room as well as a sticker with his name on it. The line moved forward a bit faster than expected and Nathan suspected he could probably get his keys soon. He also noticed an elevator and flight of stairs. Obviously the elevator was faster, so he'd take that as soon as he got his number.

Meanwhile Kathy Willheart was finished checking the last arcade machine, a DDR set and sneakily headed back into the assembly room, where she would greet the students in just 20 minutes. The final preparations were being done as a few faculty members were setting up some last equipment, such as cameras to take pictures of the students on their first day of school for the yearbook.

When the bus stopped, Shay made a quite groan if frustration. People were beginning to get off and he was only in the middle of the bus. He gathered his stuff and whatever limited courage he had. His sister had always told him it only took five seconds of bravery to do anything, so he decided to just not think about it until he was in line. He started counting in Spanish, taking his mind off of it.

Uno, dos, tres...

As he climbed off the bus and lifted up his suitcase, which wasn't hard due to it's light weight. He quickly got in line, ignoring his serroundings and twirling a pencil in his hands.

Cuarenta, cuarenta y uno, cuarenta y dos...

He looked to see where the other students were going after they picked up their key. For the most part it seemed pretty split between the elevator and the stairwell. He decided to take the stairwell, as it would no doubt be cramped in the elevator. He smiled at himself, proud he was able to work at the situation objectively, even for a little while. He focused back on the line and his counting.

Nathan finally got up to the front of the line as the screen lit up reading "Name and Number?" Nathan typed on the keyboard his name "Nathan Hawthright" and then his room number "416". The machine whirred a bit and then a large blue sticker with his name on it and some blue keys reading '416' came out. Nathan took them both and headed to the elevator, nudging himself past other kids on the way there. He waited a bit until it opened and stepped in with his luggage, as well as 5 other kids, cramping up the elevator. He took refuge in a corner after quickly pressing the close button so no one else could get in. It was cramped enough.

Inside the elevator, there were some cushioned seats, one of which Nathan sat on, as well as a map of the school on a wall. He waited for the elevator to stop as the numbers on the wall clicked up, "1...2...3...".

Alex waited in line to get her room number, not really caring about hurrying in the slightest. She noticed there was an elevator and stairs to choose from. It was an easy choice for her, stairs. There was no way she was going to wait even longer to get on the elevator and get molested by strangers because it was crowded. Finally it was her turn to get her room number. She stepped in front of the screen and typed in her name, almost forgetting not to add the is part on to the end. Then she typed in a random room number, hoping that nobody had chosen it. 413, thirteen being her favorite number. She breathed a sigh of relief as the machine spit out a blue sticker with her name, and some keys. She then went to the stairs, laughing at the idiots waiting for elevator as she went past them. Stairs weren't even that bad when you were athletic like she was.

She made her way up four flights of stairs just as the latest elevator made it up. Not even breathing heavily after the short workout. She found her room easily enough and slapped the sticker on at about eye level. She opened the door and examined the room. It wasn't too fancy, but it was nice enough. All Alex cared about was the bathroom, bed, and outlets.

All of the students exited the elevator as soon as the elevator stopped and opened up and Nathan was glad to be at the back, he had time to get his stuff instead of being taken by the small crowd of students budging their way through the elevator door. After they left, Nathan packed up his things and headed towards his room. On the way he saw several students heading their way, including a kid named Neil who was on his way to his room, which Nathan decided to exchange phone numbers with, so he could text or call with him. He placed the sticker on his doorway to his room and opened up the door. Being the first student there, the room was quite clean and has some nice amenities, such as a bed, bathroom and a medium sized TV. He put his stuff to the side of his bed, then plugged in his laptop and cell phone while they charged up. He decided to idle in his room for 5 minutes or so, in case anyone else would show up.

Nathan decided to play on his laptop while it was charging, since there wasn't much other than looking outside the balconies and watching the people wait in the lines. He did see more of the main floor of the school, as well as a small look into the arcade and the English room. He loaded up Left for Dead 2 and started playing a level, or until the next announcement came on.

Shay was finally up for his key. He had ran out of numbers, since he didn't know anything past 199, and had instead been tapping his pencil on his side to make some sort of music. When he got up he had realized he hadn't picked a number. He thought about it for only a short time before selecting room 428, for no other reason than he liked making equations with his room numbers. Ignoring the nerdiness, he entered his name, quickly checked for spelling errors, then hit enter.

He got his key and sticker, finding it amusing that they choose to colorize the stickers based on sex. He climbed up the stares with relative ease, but he was certainly not happy about climbing four stories worth of stairs.

He went to his room and saw that names were already on the wall. Andrew Jones, William Davis, and Lucas Godwin. Shay put his own sticker on the door, and was just about to knock when suddenly the door opened and someone ran into him, knocking him down on the floor.

"Oh, wow! Sorry, bro!" He lended Shay a hand in getting up, "Names Will, and you are?"

"Shay." He then tried to cough out the roughness that always plagues his voice when he awakens, "It looks like we're roommates." Will looked back at the stickers and turned back.

"Oh, yeah, I guess so! Well, welcome to the team!" Shay looked behind Will to see to other boys. One boy was throwing a water bottle while the other tried to hit it was a pillow in some form of pseudo baseball. Shay tried not to look as unpleasant as he felt, and tried not to let out any internal though he may or may not have on the matter. He did, however, raise an eyebrow. He knew this was going to be a painful experience.

Nathan was almost done his level when 2 students piled in the room. Nathan looked up to meet them, not pausing his game yet.
"Hey there, name's Charles. I'm in it for the football fields. Eden High's football record is amazing and I had to see the football field for myself." He pointed off to the distance, outside. "Best well groomed field I've ever seen. What's your name?" the first kid introduced himself. He looked legitimately fit for a football player and the 2 cans of deodorant in his backpack proved it.

"Well, I'm 65% pleased to know you. Name's Nathan. You in it for the education or for the behavior?" Nathan replied, looking over to the other kid.

"He's in it for the fitness, but I'm just here for the behavior." another kid chided in from the back. "Oh, yes, right, forgot to induct myself into the cult of three-twenty. My name? Jacob."

"Alright, since we're all here and your stuff is down on the floor, I suppose we just....wait." Nathan replied as Charles headed into the bathroom. Right about then, he was interrupted by a loud announcement coming through the speakers outside of his room.

Kathy POV:

Kathy spoke into the speakers to the entire school, reading off the script she had typed up. "Now that all of you are settled, please be reminded that you have 8 minutes to report to the assembly room. Please note, rows 3-4 are reserved for teachers and faculty only. Thank you." The loudspeakers shut off with a moderately loud squeaking sound.

Sitting in the staff lounge, seated at a table with the day's schedule before him to look over, Barry closed his eyes and crossed his arms over his chest before finally letting a breath out through his nose. In the background, the coffee maker continued to make a few low sounds as steam leaked out from it's top, and the speaker system made a low sound that often preceded an announcement. Eyes fluttering open, he recognised the voice of the lady principal, asking for all to gather to the auditorium for the beginning of the year assembly.

Getting up from his chair, folding and putting the day's schedule into his shirty pocket, the new teacher made his way to the coffee machine. Honestly, Barry Kyle was nervous...this would be his first real teaching experience, having only previously worked as a teaching assistant. This was luck, landing a high paying teaching job, and this would be the test to truly see if he was suitable for this career. Fixing two mugs of coffee, the second one for the principal as a measure of politeness mixed with sensible amounts of suck-up sense, Barry held both hot mugs by their handles and made his way out of the staff room.

The door was propped open due to the key being misplaced earlier this morning by another staff member, so the teacher only really needed to pushed the door open lightly with his elbow to leave, before setting off down the hall...
