Katherin smiled as Sue hugged Phoebe. She slowly made her way to the cabin. She let the other two have their moment to reconnect. Katherin didn't know how she felt about seeing her friend. She was relieved that Phoebe was ok. But saddened that Phoebe had seemed to do well without them.

Phoebe returned the hug, shifting slightly so she couldl breath without breaking away. It was like Sue was simply going to stay with her arms around Phoebe and never let go.

Phoebe found herself smiling, the first real smile in days. She pulled away slightly, said, "You've come to take me back, haven't you?" She suspected that by both Katherin and Sue coming, it was to make it harder for her to say no. But she'd couldn't fathom why Bruce Wayne was here with them. How did they find her?

"Yes. We have come to ask you to come back. We need you." Katherin replied with a sad smile. "Things just haven't been the same without you. Batman said he wanted us to see if we could convince you to return to school."

"I would hug you, but Sue kind of has a death grip on me" Phoebe said, then, "Beyond wanting to be back to be with you guys, I am going to need a damn good reason otherwise to come back" At this, she looked at the Academy's headmaster. "For instance, why do I warrant you coming with Sue and Katherin? Why do I warrant all this fuss? I know why they wanted to come, to try and bring me back. I am sure I am not the first student to leave the school. So why?"

This was what she couldn't understand. She thought of Sue and Katherin as closer then sisters, and would go back in a heart beat with them, but she just couldn't understand why he was here.

Bruce, with his usual resolve, forces his emotions to remain hidden behind a calm face as he replies, "I'll tell you, but I'd like to do it in private. Also, where's your mother?"

Anthony looks at the sandwich suspiciously before saying, "How do I know you didn't just happen to have brought poison with you? After all, I did something similar to your boyfriend, and revenge is very tempting and quite satisfying when done well. Trust me, if that's possible, I know." He then smiles and replies, "I agree with you completely about telepaths, but I've been working with Professor Xavier on learning how to thwart them. I can't yet stop telepaths from invading my mind, but I recognize the sensation now, no matter how subtle, and can completely change my train of though instantaneously, blocking them from any useful information. Now, back to the matter at hand. She seems to have gone through a change that took away her telepathy and perhaps strengthened her powers."

John laughs, "I might be light on my feet in sports, but I can't dance to save my life. Let's go get some ice cream."

"Around" Phoebe said, frowning. Private? What could that possibly mean? She glanced at Sue and Katherin, did they have any idea?

"Ice cream is good too" Kalinda said, standing, "Got no idea where an Ice Cream place is though"

Katherin shrugged she had an idea but she didn't know for sure. But looking between Batman and Phoebe she saw something she had never seen before. They shared alt of simuliarities.

Kijani just smiled. "Anthony, if and when I decide to do something bad to you, I'm not going to offer it to you on a plate. Though, perhaps I may. Once you let up the paranoia for five minutes and eat the damn sandwich, and not die, you won't see it coming a second time." Her smile became slightly more wolfish. "But yes, on the matter at hand. If she's not a telepath anymore- if you deem her able to be trusted, I'll unfortunately have to go with your judgement. I don't know her, and I'm not sure I care to. Besides, I've been quite the little bitch to her, so... I do wonder what you could do to convince her to work with us."

Sue

Sue finally let go of Phoebe, having taken in all that was being said around her. She remained in front of her, her hands placed on Phoebe's arms, rubbing them ever so lightly, not wanting to let her leave them again. She smiled back at Katherin and the principal. Without permission, Sue sidestepped Phoebe and walked into the house. It was dark and it almost felt damp, the wood creaking under Sue's shoes. The misty air made it difficult to breathe at first, but Sue with a couple of heavy breaths equilibrated herself to the atmosphere.

Bruce sighs, "Katherine, please go with Sue. Keep each other safe." Once he and Phoebe are alone, Bruce walks up to her, places his hands on her shoulders, and says, "Phoebe, I am your father."

Anthony shrugs, "Hopefully she'll realize just how valuable it is for me to be in her debt."

John laughs, "Neiter do I, I was hoping you would know a place, we could always buy I've cream at the store then go back to the Academy."

Kijani snorted lightly. "Considering she's from another planet, she may be the only one of our classmates who doesn't know the name 'Luthor'. Try it, then." She paused, her eyes flicking down to the sandwich. "If you're not going to eat it, let me have it."

"Phoebe, I am your father"

Phoebe wasn't too sure if she stood there staring at him for hours, minutes or seconds. Her thoughts whirled, as she tried to formulate a response, tried to think of anything.

Never had she felt more like a child, as she looked up at him. She swallowed, trying to maintain composure. "Well" she said with a shaky laugh, "that's a pretty damn good reason"

What did one do, in something like this? She had imagined many different scenes over the years in the orphanage, about how she would react. But how did one react when Bruce Wayne said he was your father?

Like if anyone else had said that. She swallowed again, took a deep breath, then smiled, and found herself hugging him.

"That's probably a better idea. There's a food store just across the road" Kalinda said

Bruce immediately hugs Phoebe back, tears streaming down his normally stoic face as he says, "I've waited so long to do this Phoebe."

Anthony nods and gestures to the sandwich, indicating that he didn't mind if she ate it. "I can be pretty convincing when necessary. My plan is to begin this adventure in three days."

"Then what are we waiting for? Let's go." John leads the way to his motorcycle, and after a quick drive, he pulls into the store' sparking lot. He leads Kalinda to the frozen section and asks, "What kind should we get?"

Phoebe composed herself over a few minutes, opening her eyes which she had squeeEd shut tight, her cheeks wet. She looked up, and Any questions she had, any demands, died as she saw the tears. So she simples asked "why wait so long?" It was an answer she desperately wanted.

"Always cookies and cream" Kalinda said at once, taking said I e cream from the freezer.

Well having gotten something to eat, which was much better than she was used to, 533 continued exploring. She made small marks on the map that didn't make much sense, but she knew what it meant. She'd seen a couple other teachers and passed some other students that didn't engage her. This place was bazaar. Things were relaxed which was unsettling for 533. Though maybe it was better that no one bothered her. Unfortunately there were 'classes' that she needed to attend which meant interacting with the people here. Taking advantage of her freedom to more around she headed outside and circled around learning where each building was and the different exits to the buildings. Maybe she was over thinking things, but better safe than sorry. To the outside observer she just appeared to be wandering around outside.

Bruce sighs as he tries to regain his composure, "It wasn't until recently that most heroes and villains signed a truce that would last until the next generation of metahumans. I was still active, so I had enemies that would have tried to hurt you. If anything had happened to you, I wouldn't have been able to forgive myself."

"Alright, sounds good." John says while grabbing a can of whipped cream. As they walk toward the cashier, he asks, "Where should we eat it?"

Phoebe nodded "I understand" she said softly, she looked towards the cabin. It may not have been home, not like the academy, but..."I don't know how to say I'm leaving her"

"Anywhere" Kalinda said, "I'm buying this" as they reached the cashew, she quickly got out some momey

John replies with a laugh, "Fair enough. Let's go to your place, mine is a mess."

Bruce nods and says, "I know it's hard, but you need to explain to her why you've chosen to come back. Don't worry, your friends and I will be there to support you."

Kalinda thought about her room then nodded "mines fine, let's go"

Phoebe sighed and nodded "okay" she headed towards the cabin, trying to think of what to say. And then decided the simply truth was she needed to be with her friends

John drives his motorcycle to the Academy, obviously going over the speed limit. Luckily, they don't encounter any police and are soon at the school parking lot. Once he parks the bike, John holds out a hand to Kalinda and says, "I'll carry the bag for you."
