Ben whispers, "Go around to his back and keep out Austin's sight for now." As the last few words escape from his mouth, Ben seems to fade into nothingness. He draws his gun and stands in the middle of the path that John was barreling down. At the last moment, Ben pops into view and says, "Boo," before shooting John in the head,

The bullet enters through John's mouth and exits through the back, leaving a small wound tht quickly heals. Immediately after Ben appears, however, John instinctively lashes out. His hands grow immensely, forming a large, white, writhing wall of tentacles that slam Ben against a tree. "Not so tough now, are ya Parker?"

Jack knew he should have got back to deal with Austin but there was no way he was letting Ben take the beating Jack should have gotten. But he obeyed. He set up some webs to keep Austin busy and out of sight. He was positioned behind John and ready to go.

Connor dropped down by where Austin was, quickly removing the webs Jack had used to try and trap his friend, and then took to the air once more, only to be snagged by a shadow hand.

Kalinda grinned, thrilled she had managed to do something. It soon disappeared as Connor removed the boot of his suit that was caught. It seemed to make him have difficulty flying, but he stayed air born, shooting high into the air. Kalinda cursed, and slid into the shadows of the tree.

Connor landed on the other side of the bank, stumbling slightly, he held up a hand, and brought it down to his side, pulling his boot back to him. Pleased, he glanced about, trying to see who was remaining on this side of the other team

Ben extends his talons and uses them to slice John's tentacles to shreds. Once freed, he leaps backward and reaches for his gun, only to discover that it had been crushed by John. Without missing a beat, he draws his staff, splits it in two, and dashes toward John while crying out, "Now, Jack!"

Kijani fell into dodging, her body acting on sheer reflex. Flood wasn't the only one who could improvise. She twisted and darted and dodged, and eventually found the rhythm in the dance. One she could exploit. She waited for her opening to come around again, before she leapt the diagonal strike in a burst of agility, dropping inside Flood's guard and slamming the book she was holding upward into his face. The book was already weighty, but added to Kijani's will it carried the force of a half ton. She made sure to angle the strike in such a way that if it connected, it would shove the cartilage of Flood's nose upward into his brain. This was supposed to be a true fight, and she wasn't going to play nice.

Flood wasn't able to completely dodge the blow but he was at least able to make it so it wouldn't take him out of the fight. He used her momentum to soften the blow but it still hurt. "Ow, is an understatement so I think I'm just going to settle with chopping off a limb." He said simply as he reached for his back and withdrew another sword. This one seemed to be glowing a light blue. If it touched her she would notice the beginning stages of frostbite. He swiftly twirled both Katanas and then knocked their handles together as a resounding click was heard. "Frozen Thunder mode activated." He said as he twirled the katanas around in a complex attack trying to strike her.

Now he was jealous. Okay not really. His brother had other issues but those talons were cool. Damn useful too. John was gonna go crazy over this. Not exactly fair. Jack charged and slammed his fist into the back of John's head. He imagined whatever Ben did would take him down for now. Hopefully.

Kijani snickered lightly as Flood pulled another sword, then latched them together. "Oh, dear. Someone's been watching way too much Star Wars. Shall I call you Darth Dumbass?" She started to dip and dodge the strikes, but it was a close call many times. Her clothes were getting shredded, and she was pretty sure one of her arms was steadily going numb- from electricity or ice, she wasn't sure. Eventually, she let the tome go and held it in place with her will. She danced backward out of his range, giving herself space, before starting to twist and dance, literally dance, to unseen rhythm. It was an odd split, as if she'd thrown tai chi, capoeira, and breakdancing in a blender. The paper from her tome split from it's bindings and started to spin around her in a veritable storm of sharp edged pages. She was in the core of it, moving in elegant, seemingly random patterns of grace. "Come on, dance with me!"

Nacelle eyed the battle that now seemed centered around a man with the power of regeneration. It made a lot of sense seeing as he appeared to be the strongest as well as the healthiest. Nacelle started to creep towards the man out of spite going in from around him as lithe and hopefully lethal as a big cat.

Kalinda sighed. She couldn't stay in the shadows for ever, and there weren't that many out in the field. But she had her flight, and telekenisis. She could use them. And her empathy power, but she was fearful of using it in the vicinity of Anthony.

So she had a chance to use her other powers. She slipped out the shadows. She wasn't going anywhere near Anthony, Kyra was out of it, she doubted she could fight Connor, John was busy with the Parker brothers, kijani was fighting flood. So that left Griffin.

Well, she started to run towards him

Griffin was stunned by the way Kat had exploded his bands of light. He would definitely need a different weapon if he ever fought her again. Griffin looked around to see who was left to take out.

Kalinda was out of the shadows. She flung herself up off the ground, but didn't fly, instead pushing off the ground with her telekenetic power, she prepelled herself over the flied and landed behind Griffin.

Griffin nearly greeted Kalinda before he remembered she was on the other team. He didn't want to hurt his friends. So he decided to try his bands of light a third time. He kept a wary eye out for Kat. He had lost track of her during the battle. The last thing he needed was her once again causing his bands to explode. Griffin wasn't even sure he could build the bands a third time.

Kalinda knew what Griffin was about to try. "I know we are on different teams, and I don't want to hurt you any more then you do me" she sighed, and using their shadows, she tried to do the exact same thing that he was trying with her, before he could trap her hands

Griffin struggled to create the bands once again. But he seemed to be tapped out. He eyed the shadows warily. Neither he or Zack were found of dark places. And after spending the night in the lockdown area Griffin was not eager to spend time in the dark once again. "I can not allow you to put me intonthe dark, Kalinda."

"I wasn't going to engulf you in shadows" Kalinda replied, letting the shadows go "not big enough for that,, besides.il Come on, of I don't fight you I have to attack Anthony and I'd rather not do that."

But Kalinda didn't want to fight her friends. She sighed. This training was just so pointless."I don't see what we get out of fight friends" she said, sighing and shaking her head

Griffin felt bad he had upset his friend. He didn't like to upset people. It was obvious Kalinda dodgy like battling. "We must fight to earn. This way we can learn our strengths and weaknesses. We need to know what we can do for when we graduate. We must also learn the strength and weaknesses of the others in case we must go against them for real someday. You may use your shadows on me as long as you do not cover my face."

"You're closer to the truth then you think." Flood replied simply as he watched Kijani doing her dance. "I'm good thanks." He said simply as he pulled out his gun and began firing at her again.
