[IC] Academy of Heroes and Villains

Katherin woke bright and early. She was looking to seeing her friends. She was feeling more herself today. She had called her father and he had told her to come home for the weekend. She was looking forward to seeing him again. Once she was dressed she headed to breakfast.

[Flood]

Flood looked at the sunrise from the school roof and smiled. "Another chaos filled day is in store for literally everyone." He wondered when his first paint bomb would go off. "I do hope the other personalities didn't set too many paint bombs. I don't want to wander into something that I set while 'unconcious'." He said to himself. He left the roof and began heading to the Deadpool's classroom. He walked in and looked at his father passed out with a knife impaled in his shoulder. "Not even going to ask." He grabbed some money out of a drawer and walked to the cafeteria, bought some food (After much questioning from the cook) and sat down to eat.

Phoebe undertook her normal morning ritual, dressing and going on her jog around the campus, letting herself simply relax, and enjoy the the morning, the air fresh, and comfortable, she realised how thankful she was that she had came here. She tried to imagine her life, not being here, having not gone...and she couldn't. ---- Kalinda was sitting on the roof of the girl dorms, having not slept much, but feeling quite alive. She watched, waited for The boys to come back, for any sign that they were in danger. But when she saw Devika, heading towards the gym, She leaped down, landing lightly, and followed her after a time. "Haven't you tried this before?" She asked with some curiosity, seeing that Devika was working on the treadmill and weights. ------ Connor blinked as the sunlight filled his room, groaning, and burrowing under the blankets A part of him didn't want to get up, but the other part he knew that he had to. He was worried and concerned about what could happen today. He was sure that Kijani hoped he hadn't noticed the fact that she had been, before going out, distracted. Almost...afraid, but whatever she had seen on her laptop. He was afraid he would go outside and find her gone. With a heavy sigh, he through the covers off. He showered and dressed, grabbing his pack and heading out.

Devika had felt someone following her, but really paid them no mind. Until Kalinda spoke, she didn't bother to acknowledge her. "Not really. Getting stronger isn't a matter of trying once and then quitting. I had maybe a month of this before kind of falling out of routine. That's nowhere near enough. Me and John email each other back and forth sometimes. He came up with a nice training regimen for me." She continued to work, pushing back her sweaty curls with one hand. "This is constant work. So no, I have not tried it before, because I'm still in the middle of trying it."

Nicholas was in the gym currently on the teadmill working on his legs,He was wearing a long shelve shirt with black sweat pants and light brown rubbig shoes.He didn't take notice with Devika just yet for the moment he was more busy with the treadmill giving him a stern workout.The young man was also wearing headphones listening too Beethoven's 9 symphony the 1st movement it music he use to listen to as a child while h was not being beaten or experimented,When he was young he use to read form H.P Lovecraft to Herman Melville to expanded his mind then it already was. "A new day...a new day..." He thought to himself.

Makoto awoke from the sun brightly shining into her bedroom. She rolled over and looked to the old clock for the time. It was a restless night, her pillow was wet and her eyes were crusty. Slowly she rose, it was still early. Makoto made her bed and revisited yesterday. She may have made some new friends; Phoebe, Flood, Katherin, and maybe even Kagerou. She sighed, looking into the mirror after taking care of business. She would need a good face wash this morning. Makoto made the bed with the sheets and blanket that was already there. She dug into her bag for toiletries and took what she had to the bathroom. Using warm/hot water she scrubbed her face and thought about the day. She was looking forward to her electives. From her experience yesterday she was not looking forward to Power development at all. Makoto moved on to getting dressed after having combed out her hair and braided it once again. She put on the same pants from yesterday and the same tank top. Makoto tossed the warmer sweater of the 2 she had brought with her. It was one of her favorites, it was bright orange. Pulling on the same shoes and jacket from the previous day, Makoto left her room and headed for the cafeteria for some food. She found a paper map in her room that she must have gotten when Storm enrolled her here. Using that as her guide she left the dorms.

Arnold welded into campus. He was dressed in a three piece suit. Anyone who knew them would know that something wasn't right. Zack and Griffin were in the back of their shared mind trying to sort things out. He could crew less about them and their problems. It was his turn to be in charge and people were going to learn just how different he was quickly.

The light shone through the cheap curtains, but it was the smell of coffee which truly woke her. Sitting up she wrapped the duvet around her and walked out of the bedroom and flopped on to the couch. “What’s the time?” “Late enough that you need to hurry up and make like a good little school girl.” Come the smug reply, as Aidan held out a mug. Kat rolled her eyes, but took the mug as she simply said “Droll and droller.” before taking a sip, but keeping her eyes on him. “You going to stay for breakfast?” He asked as he sat with his own plateful, taking a mouthful himself. “I shouldn’t, don’t want to raise suspicions on where I spend my sordid nights.” She stood, leaving the duvet where it was and placed the mug beside him instead. “Oh yes, the scandal, falling asleep in front of the television, god forbid anyone knows you’re a normal person.” She gave him a playful shove and stole a rasher of bacon before disappearing back into the bedroom to change.

Kat walked through the gates of the academy and into the building, navigating the halls with a practiced boredom. The earphones helped stop her look quite so coarse while simultaneously blocking out the mundane discussions that she would be forced to hear fleetingly otherwise. Ultimately ending up in the cafeteria she picked up some hot bread and honey, before taking a seat and opening a book, lazily flicking through the pages.

"I meant...why? Why bother? I lift weights with my telekineses to enable me to work easier with it. How is doing this going to help?" Kalinda said, frowning slightly at herself, then shaking her head. Sometimes she just didn't get people. Phoebe was just starting to wind down, reaching back the dorms she saw Makoto, she smiled and waved calling out "hey! Are you heading down for breakfast?" She walked over, untying her hair and running her fingers through it, sliding the tie over her hand. "How as the rest of you afternoon? I'm sorry I had to leave, but...It couldn't be helped"

Devika gave Kalinda a calm look, switching hands with the weights and starting a new set of reps. "Imagine yourself in a brilliantly lit room, one made so there are no shadows. It's just you in the room, and there is nothing to use your TK on. What will you do then? If you didn't have your powers, what use would you actually be to anyone?" She let the question hang in the air, her eyebrows lifted. "I know that I'm not too much but a paperweight with big boobs if my empathy fails, so... I'm seeking to change that the best I can."

Nicholas was still working I the treadmill but after that seemed like half a hour he got off heading towards Devika and Katlinda but didn't speak to them like he didn't notice they were there,Right beside them he started working out with the weights which he could lift of about 83 pounds which was good enough for him to work on his arms. His mind was some place else most of it was in what his mother said to him and the second part was on how he could talk to Devika without messing it up,He pulled the weights over his head his body covered in sweat unintentionally showing off his fit body.

Kalinda thought on that for a moment, "If I didn't have any powers, I would be happy. I would be normal. I wouldn't be vibrating with the feeling of emotions, and I wouldn't be worried about blasting the school apart" She said, her tone neutral, but cracked as she continued, "I wouldn't have caused a guys death, and I would be in normal school, would be blissfully unaware of all the horrible things in the world" She sighed heavily. "You have your strengths, Devika. You aren't your powers. Anyone can be a hero, or a villian, if they just know how. You don't need powers for that. Besides, what's the point of getting stronger if you don't know how to use it? What's the point, if it isn't your strength?"

Makoto looked up from her map and smiled at Phoebe. "Good morning!" she almost giggled out. She was glad that Phoebe was so peppy, it made managing her own sadness a little easier. "Yeah, I was just on my way to see what I can get for breakfast." Makoto hoped that the breakfast would be as good as the lunch from the day before. She was starving, having had skipped dinner to play games with Flood and Katherin. "It's alright, I had a lot of fun with Flood and Katherin. I signed up for my electives as well; Chinese Martial Arts and Advanced Anatomy and Physiology. Did you sort out everything with your half-brother?" Makoto couldn't quite remember his name. There were many people she had only actually met once and even at that, didn't get much time to spend with them.

Flood was busy playing with a pocket knife as he stabbed holes in the table he was sitting at. He saw Makoto and Phoebe and waved at both of them. He put away his knife and resumed eating.

Devika shook her head a bit. "Kalinda, what makes you think I don't know how to use strength? Also, I am doing this for my own confidence. I want to be stronger, I want to not be wheezing after 2 flights of steps, and I don't want my belly to jiggle like gelatin when I brush my teeth. I am not my powers, and therefore I have to make what is me- my body- stronger. Hero or villain isn't the point of this." She pointed to the weight with her free hand. "The point is me being a better me. Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to do a cooldown."

Kalinda shrughed "that is the point. are powers make us....they shape how we can be. But why are you doing the running, the weights? Sure, the running bs a good cardio, and the weights help, but there's other things you can do, for high, fast results? You need to mix it up. Go hard. Do the things that make your muscles scream. Squats,'push ups, chin ups, sit ups. There's a reason they are still around, even with the weight machines and stuff" She shrugged, and jumped onto a treadmill, doing a slow warm up. She just did maintance work, not particularly caring about her self, but knowing it was good for her powers. "You need to mix it up in anycase. Your body gets use to the same movements over and over again and you get no results after a while. Or so my dance teacher always told me" again, a shrug. Despite the fact that she was wearing clothes that covered most of her body, she didn't appear to be having any difficulty running "frankly, you have an advantage over everyone. People expect what they see. They will just assume that you aren't the best in a fight and consider it won, even if they can resist your power. You can use that. You don't need to be completely fit to know how to punch someone in the nose"

Makoto also waved at Flood, happy to see him and intending to sit with both him a Phoebe for breakfast. "I'm really glad you two had a chance to talk and that you are helping each other. I think it's really sweet of him to do the whole big brother thing. You and Ryan are really cute together, congratulations." she said, smiling warmly. Makoto had by now noticed the ring on Phoebe's left hand and was trying to find a good time to congratulate her. She figured while they were on the topic of Ryan, it was as good a time as ever. Makoto moved with Phoebe down the small line in the cafeteria, collecting food to eat. "I chose martial arts because I figured it was a good place to start and I had taken a basic combative class at my old high school." Makoto began. "I really enjoyed learning the Chinese martial arts, they seemed to flow easier than the others and they have good striking patterns." She kind of laughed to herself, under her breath. "At least, that's what I liked from the little I experienced in that class. I used one of the strikes in Power Development yesterday." pointing out a visual reference that Phoebe may have been able to associate the martial art style to. The young ladies had gotten their food and so Makoto began to walk in Flood's direction. It seemed to be a usual thing that the other classmates at the school gave him plenty of room. Makoto thought it sad but she had a feeling it was for good reason. Still, she always gave the benefit of the doubt until proven wrong. "Would you want to sit with Flood today?" she asked, trying to make sure that Phoebe was alright with sitting at the same table as Flood so early in the morning. "It seems like there is lots of room for us." she added, sheepishly.

"Interesting book you are reading." A voice spoke up next to Kat belonging to a young man whom had already taken a nearby seat. Taking a bite out of the apple in his hand. "You don't mind if I join you do you?" He asked with a small grin on his face leaning back in his chair somewhat. "Or will you blast me with whatever nasty abilities you have at your disposal?" He asked

"Interesting book you are reading." She stopped reading as soon as she heard the voice, but didn't immediately look up. Her eyes narrowed slightly as they flicked to the side, picking out his figure, but the look was one of amusement above anything else. She waited until he finished before looking up, straight into his eyes. "How could you possibly know? It's not like you can read it." She said, as she closed the book softly. "And do I really look like that kind of girl?" She asked, with a quirk of her brows that suggested it was more of a challenge than a question.

"Interesting book you are reading." She stopped reading as soon as she heard the voice, but didn't immediately look up. Her eyes narrowed slightly as they flicked to the side, picking out his figure, but the look was one of amusement above anything else. She waited until he finished before looking up, straight into his eyes. "How could you possibly know? It's not like you can read it." She said, as she closed the book softly. "And do I really look like that kind of girl?" She asked, with a quirk of her brows that suggested it was more of a challenge than a question.

"I do not need to read it to understand it is an interesting book." Lee said tossing the apple up and down in his hand watching the motion before grabbing it and turning his own eyes to look directly into hers. "I can tell just by reading you." he said. "You are sitting alone by yourself in a cafeteria filled with others your age. So that leads me to believe that you enjoy having no distractions when you read." He pointed out. "Now the book itself appears to be old...very old. So you enjoy reading things that would not attract a mainstream audience just because it is the cool thing to do. It is not difficult to point out an avid book reader neither." He said before turning his chair around so he can sit backwards in it resting his arms on the top of the chair's back. "And if it wasn't you would have told me it wasn't instead of asking me why it wasn't and wouldn't be so gentle over handling it." Lee grinned as he spoke again. "Now if you were that kind of girl. Nothing is stopping you from disposing of me right this instant." He said with a shrug of his shoulders. "The real question is not if you are the type but do you want to be rid of the stranger? Though maybe you don't...I seem to have sparked some level of interest perhaps fleeting if I made you put your book down and focus entirely on me." he said with a grin
