If I give you a theory, will you tell me if I'm wrong?

Anthony's finally got Kijani to listen- but I really don't know how long it'll last.As an aside- why IS he helping her? I have several theories, but I'd like the facts.

Evil. Just pure" I'm smarter than you lot" evil. I think that is trademarked by Lex Luthor.

Well, my reasoning is very.. psychological, I guess?

Anthony sees something familiar in Kijani. He knows it because he has it too, but he hates it. So perhaps through trying to keep Kijani from self-destructing, or going so far down there's no way back... he feels that he is helping himself. (Specifically, his younger self.)

@Katherine: You're acting like your characters were surprised about the simulation. The only time they didn't know it was a simulation was during it. They knew before and after that it was a simulation. I just didn't have us RP the events leading to when they were plugged into the simulation because I wanted to surprise you guys.

@Dizzy: You're almost dead on. However, he has no problem with the way he is. He sees a need for social interactions in Kijani that he himself doesn't feel. He knows that her personality is similar to his and knows that she won't be happy if she becomes any more like him. While he enjoys Sue's company immensely and he does care for her, for instance, he wouldn't be any worse off if she had rejected his advances. He doesn't feel lonely, but he knows that Kijani can.

I don't think I can play with legos with my little cousins again, thanks for that lovely picture.

Although I found it fascinating picturing it.

I am such a ghoul. I think surgical nursing will be my specialty.

They knew there would be simulations not that they would be popped into one without warning. I thought that was the idea. To have the characters not know if it was real or not while the simulation was happening. Not knowing if same thing is really will upset people. Do I need to change it?

I'll try to be clearer. When they're in the simulation, they don't have any memory of entering it. However, before each simulation, the students show up in the Battle Simulation room and are given a brief explanation of how it works if they we're there since day one. Once they're out of the simulations, they immediately remember going into the classroom and preparing to get plugged in. Once they get out, it's not a surprise to them, and it's not like they've been tricked. They knew beforehand that what they're about to experience is fake, they just don't know during it.

*nods* That's very succinct... Kijani does deal with that a lot, well into adulthood. She can be the life of the party to other people's eyes, the rich girl with everything, but... within? It's a different story.

*calmly sows the seeds in Kijani's dialogue*

That makes no sense, but I will edit to reflect this.

What Knight's saying makes sense in universe. The issue here, I think, is that it wasn't practiced in the writing. You're saying our characters know something we don't, and that's like... well, a paradox and a half. You surprised US, the writers, with where our characters were, and having to play our characters like we knew all along... sort of sounds pretty much like metagaming.

Greeting students. Today we are going to send your mind into a simulation. While in the simulation you will not realize it is a simulation because your mind will be isolated from reality. It is like a deep dream state. You will realize that it was all a simulation when you wake up.

The part where they know before but not during. Maybe it was just the way the day went. Or the way i read the events. It doesn't matter.

I think what got us confused was the fact that it was done as if they just suddenly woke up for the day, and were in the simulation.

Correct. It was played out in real time. You, just like your character, we're in the mind set of the simulation. You did not realize it wasn't real until afterward, just as your characters. The part we skipped was the students coming into class, but it happened none the less.

yeah, i get that, but it was never said that they knew, after it had ended, how they got there.

Anyway, it doesn't matter now really...

You know how at the very beginning of some movies, you're shown a climatic scene from the end of the movie, then later on you're shown the events leading up to it? This was similar. I showed you the climatic event, the simulation, then afterwards, the students remember going into the Battle Simulation class. I don't think I'm explaining myself very well...
