well,as katherine said,in the cartoon,he can use it during the day

even tho we are going by the cartoon canon(it takes place in an alternate universe where stanley keeps the mask),in the sequel(son of the mask) loki has the same powers as the mask,and is trying to get it back from the new owner to get un-banished from asgard

the amazing if somewhat iffy world of wiki said the Mask is a jade or wooden mask which when worn enables people to become The Mask. In most continuities it is held by Stanley Ipkiss. In reality, The Mask is an object shrouded in mystery and darkness. No one knows exactly where it came from, what it’s for, or who made it. However (in the film), it is revealed in the movie, Son of the Mask, that it is an artifact of Scandinavian origin and its creator is Loki.

That seems A bit op then if the wearer is just going to have the same level of power and strength as a God. Part of the point of this roleplay is to develop over time. Where do you go if you match a god? No where really.

So. If your character is going to have the same level of strength as Loki, then im going to have to say no. Work out a way around that, and I'll be happy.

well,he only recently got it,and he is a kid,so its gonna be a bit weaker

That's the problem. You can twist just about everything around so it's funny. And what about different views of funny? Someone may laugh at someone slipping on a banana peel but then someone else wouldn't.

And a "bit weaker"? Define a bit weaker. now I haven't watched the movie in a while but,,,,he seemed to be able to do just about anything after putting the mask on. I think you need to develop some sort of weaknesses at least to even it out

Well,if you can mange to take te mask off of him(a lot of villains in the cartoon did that),and he is limited to bending reality ,not outright warping it

The thing I'm struggling with is that it tends to rely on visual humour, and I'm not sure how that will translate to a RP, and the potential to god mod as Caits is saying

That's the thing,

Pretty much the only one kf my characters I can see succeeding to take the mask away from him is Phoebe, and that's only because of her vines. Kalinda might be able to do it with her telekenisis but I imagine not.

It just seems with what I know of the mask that's it's too over powered, even in a weakened state. What you have stated isn't so much of a weakness as it is simple a...decrease in power but not abilities. Being able to do what the mask can do just like that seems...unfair. Most of our characters struggle with working out how to use their powers and creating ways of doing so. How will the mask do that?

I'm Not trying to be the mean parent who says no. I'm Just trying to prevent God modeling and over power meant, considering that when you come in, you will literally be new and therefors won't be able to do much-that's how we have all worked with oue characters. But with the mask I iust don't see that happening unless you can come up with a barrier or something that prevents full use of his powers.

The mask continually rejects him. He has to earn it. How, well, that can be decided eventually. Not rejected all the time, just enough so that it's not overpowered.

That's all I can think up for the moment

Yes,I agree on that,(sometimes it will refuse to transform him,sometimes when he transforms,things dont comeout right,like he takes iut a bazooka,it weakly shoots snow)so I need one more vote

Unfortunately I can't sign off on this one myself. I just see it as being a complete gamebreaker. Even Flood, who would have a legitimate reason to have a 4th wall breaking skill (being Deadpool's son) keeps his character's power under wraps...

My apologies, but my answer is no. It doesn't suit the RP, and I'm hesitant to allow an unknown player a level of power that is on line with a freakin' god.

Honestly I'm having similar worries. Characters like Deadpool are hard enough to work (and you do it very well Flood) but something like this just seems too extreme and I'm not sure how it will work in the dynamics of an RP...

You're totally welcome to try again with a different character I'm just not sure this one is suitable here
