[IC] Legend of Zelda: Link's Slumber

Dane sighs as he finishes putting on his boots and heads for the door out of the room, beckoning the little blue light to follow him. "Right, the Princess is also named Zelda. You know, why does no one find that even a little weird that princesses throughout our history have been named Zelda?" Shaking his head, he leaves the room and heads down the stairs to the Inn's common room. Stopping to give his due for the night, ten rupees, he exits the inn and heads for the castle. "So why exactly did she want me?"

Dane

The sages are gathering! You are one of the sages! If all the sages don't gather together, we are gonna be that much further from stopping whatever evil haunts our lands. Right now only Hyrule Castle Town is free from its influence because of our magical borders, but if all the evils are rising at once, our defenses will be useless. The hero of time hasn't arrived yet, and from all the knowledge we have, he may never arrive. The Queen created me and entrusted me to aid her daughter in destroying these evils while she maintains Hyrule as best she can. So far I've only found two of the sages though...

"Oh? Only two of us? And who's the second, if I may ask." Dane wasn't sure he believe he was a sage, not with the way he'd lived, but then again, he never did know his mother. Maybe she's connected to this somehow... Shaking himself from his thoughts Dane continues on towards the market, intent on seeing if the Bazaar had anything he could actually use. He wasn't a fan of Deku nuts after some incidents in the Odon Forest involving them and he didn't use a shield. "Oh, and what's your name, if you have one. I can't call you little blue light all the time."

Dane

Oddly enough... it seems to be some Stalfo's, don't know much about him yet... He doesn't seem real talkative.
Oh and I'm Bubby! My actual name is ridiculously long and complicated to pronounce! It's a pleasure to meet you!

Gin woke up with a yawn, his perpetually irritated face growing even more so as the small fairy abruptly woke him from his sleep on the streets of castle town. "Hey! Who d'you think you are?" Gin rubbed his eyes grumpily, his mind slightly in a haze from having just woken up. "I swear, I haven't been able to get a good nights sleep since the moment I came here..." Gin woke up fumingly and his eyes widened as he realized who had awoken him. He looked confused as he had time to fully register what the fairy had said. "F-fate of the world? Are you messing with with me?!" He pointed at Bubby accusingly. "That's it isn't it?! You thought that messing with the homeless scrub on the street would be funny!"

Gin

You are a sage! Don't expect me to know why you are, you just are! There is a cycle of spirit within Hyrule, it's possible you may share a spirit with a hero of old. But that's all speculation. Now get your wooden butt up! We have to get goin'!

The young scrub reluctantly stood up from the floor, still eyeing Bubby with a hint of suspicion. "Eh?! Sage?" Gin couldn't deny that his curiosity was piqued by the fairy's words, but he had enough experience to know that any stranger could be a potential enemy or trickster. "You can't blame me for my doubt." Gin squinted his eyes a bit. "I'll be needing some evidence if I need to set off with you. Besides, where the hell is it that you wanna drag me off to?"

"A stalfo?!" That had to be the single most interesting thing that Dane had ever heard, right up next to the fact that he was one the legendary sages. "Right, guess I shouldn't judge, since I'm a ranger and a sage. But in all seriousness, Bubby, what's next? A Deku Shrub being a sage?" Laughing at his own joke, he stops outside the door to the bazaar and considers carefully about going in. On one hand, if he does have something I need it's worth the investment...ah to hell with it, I'll be in town a couple more days. Turning to Bubby, he beckons the fairy to follow him as he heads for the castle gates.

The town was bustling with activity as people went about their daily routine, some going to the shops around town, some going out to fish in the moat and yet others just wandering and chit chatting with each other. For Dane, it was just WAY too much noise and way too many people. In other words, he was about ready to head back out to the forest in the next couple of days unless this turned into something serious and real. "Before you answer my question about what's next, what do you know about the queen and princess? I've never even seen them myself."

Gin

You want some proof, just go to the castle! It's not like if I was messing with you I could hurt you by setting a trap there... its the freaking castle of Hyrule! Worst case scenario, I follow you there and the guards have no idea what I'm talking about and you turn me in for impersonating a royal messenger or something...

Dane

Uh... right... a Deku sage! That'd be unusual... We can talk more about that later though! As for the Zelda line... they're both powerful enchantresses, The Queen has more of affinity for healing and protection and the like, whereas her daughter learned the ancient Sheikah arts that have been passed down through the royal family since the last Sheikah died. They come from a long line, dating back further than any other on record, and have been known to never declare war, and never demand the love of their people. They are seldom seen so as to prevent an abuse of what they hold power over, and this keeps the line untainted of corrupted wisdom. What is even greater about this is that they also have one of the three legendary triforce. The triforce of wisdom. Some say that having all three will grant you any wish you desire... but... No one has ever truly had all three.There was some speculation to the contrary but it was eventually decided that you needed the three marks and the three physical golden triangles to actually gain their full power, and unfortunately the bearer of one of the marks is the reincarnation of a rather uncooperative god... so the three mark bearers together have never wished for any fate...

Shade started walking trying to remember his way through, he looks around and its only the fairy, as he continued walking he started to play the ocarina, hoping with each song he plays he would teleport. The two were finally stopped by a large bramble. Shade cut through bramble and finally emerged on the other side. The sun falls on the shrouded stalfos, "Alright, Not-vi. It's been a long time. Is castle town where it was before?"

"Hmm..." Gin still looked slightly uncertain about following Bubby. "Well, I guess it's true I'll be able to tell if you're bluffing by the time we get there." He still held his suspicions about Bubby, but if what he was saying was true, that would mean he'd be able to take a closer look at the palace, which he had studied long ago under his former master's tutelage. "Alright, I'll go with you. I'd be a liar if I said I'm not interested in your story. But I think you should do more explaining about this sage thing on the way there. Have you found any others besides me? What's your name as a matter of fact?"

Shade

Before? Well it's pretty much where it's always been... if that's what you're asking. The northern province of Hyrule, on the edge of Terminus. if you like, I'll lead the way!

Gin

I'm Bubby! I was born yesterday! That was probably not a good thing to tell you! And so far as I know... the sages are likely the reincarnations of powerful Hyrulian spirits. Right now I've found three of them, but there should be more... One is a hyrulian ranger, who I believe to be the son of a fairy, but I haven't asked yet... The other... he is a stalfo... and one who bears a strange energy I'm only familiar with as being that of a triforce bearer... but I could be wrong. And then there's you!

Dane was familiar enough with the history of the land of Hyrule to make an educated guess at who the uncooperative reincarnation is, but doesn't see any reason to invoke his name with the recent happenings he'd been hearing about. He figures there's more than enough reason to believe it with all the refugees that have been arriving while he's been here. "Alright, so they're powerful sorceresses. Good thing to know. Does the princess practice any kind of Martial Prowess? Swordsmanship, stave mastery, the like. I would like to know EVERYTHING I could expect in case I make her mad." Not that he had any intention of doing that on purpose. Even if she couldn't fight with a sword, her magic would probably be more than enough to handle the wayward tongue. Well, suppose it's a good thing I think before I speak most of the time. Spotting the castle gates, I point them out. "So just through there, huh?"

[Charlie]

They started walking over the grassy knolls of Hyrule. When Bubby mentioned Terminus a chill when down Shades back, "So Fairy, what am I going to be doing." He asked. Shade wondered if this fairy would be any help.

Dane

Yes that's the place. But so far as I know the Princesses training is kept absolutely secret. I know the information, but I believe I would not be permitted to say in case the Princess gets you mad... You have to understand...

Shade

Probably defeating the angry spirits and monsters that have popped up... The temples have all been abandoned... It's unfortunate, after all the work that's been done clearing the suckers out... but, you know... the past is the past. If the hero of time could see what's happened now I can only imagine how heavy this would hit him...

[Charlie]

Shade lets out a sigh, "Yeah, but he had the ability to change it, I thought he did but, I guess no matter what heroes do there will always be evil, so dose it really matter... Speaking of which where is the hero of this age? Shouldn't you be escorting him?" Shade asks in no hurry to get to castle town at this time of day, sun still high in the sky.

[Zarkun]

Dane raise a questioning eyebrow at the fairy. "In case she makes ME mad? I'm not the ruler of some other country, my blue friend, I'm a Hylian ranger. No matter how mad I get at the royalty, and they've never given me reason in the past, I'm not royalty, I'm the guy who could end up on the executioner's block if I say the wrong thing. Still, I do understand your reasoning, even if it is nutty. Can I at least ask what element of magic she knows?" He hated not getting to know a little more about the princess before getting there. Dane wasn't much of a people person by nature of both birth and how he was raised, so if he could learn something about a person first, it made him more relaxed. Shouldn't be that big of a surprise, she isn't royalty for nothing and we common folk don't get to know their secrets. As they near the palace gates, he waves at the guard. "Hail good fellow!"

Kyriakos groaned as the light from the fairy caused her to flutter her eyes open, and she sat up as she looked at the fairy confused. She grumbled sleepily "Lazy bum? Really?" She then sighed as she stood up and she asked the fairy showing her confusion and curiosity, "What do the sages and Princess Zelda want with me?" She grabbed her equipment and she went to the front of the house, while waiting for the fairy to answer her question. Before she walked out of the door, she flipped the sign at the front to say that she was out and couldn't help customers at this time.

Shade

He hasn't shown up... Neither has Ganon, mysteriously enough... The Queen and princess believe that the Goddesses have taken away our cycle... They truly aren't sure if even the power of the sages will be enough... There is no prophecy, no ancient writings, no clues of any sort about this happening either in the past or this having been supposed to happen... We're really just doing what we can, and honestly, it's a losing battle... If something were to organize a fourth of the creatures we have heard reports of from around the world... The castle barriers wouldn't stand a chance... They'd take Hyrule in a night. Luckily as things currently stand they seem content to remain in their temples...

Dane

The sheikah used shadow magic. The ability to manipulate the mind and perception of their foes and use it to their advantage. While you're right, it's unlikely that you could harm the queen or the princess, assassins have gotten away with harder things. We have to trust that the Queens magic was correct in bringing you to us...

You are one of the sages! I have to say it was tough finding you amongst all these people... I found two in far-off forests before you! The Queens magic has pointed you all out to me and I am to bring you to the Princess at once... Now come on, pick up the pace, most of them are already in the city!
