I dont think you're nuts! It's just that The lake supplies the domain which supplies the river. You might remember that the lake flowed into the domain and the river... So the waters source was technically the lake. there were some dialogue mistakes in OOT that stated otherwise, and the mistake was never fixed for oot because that was before you could up and patch a game

When the Zoras domain was frozen, lake hylia was empty, also the fact of rivers from the domain go to hylia, and the zoras domain has water falls. Assuming this Hyrule is like Oot then zoras domain is presumably the water source, unless it comes from Terminus. (I wouldn't know I didn't play mojoras mask)

My mistake friend. I misread a certain post and got my information mixed up. To be fair though we are both incorrect. The source of both is in fact, Death Mountain.
I read that it was a common misconception that zoras domain was the source of water in hyrule and based my information off of that, but upon further study of the text, it was a different lake entirely and not lake Hylia. http://zelda.wikia.com/wiki/Lake_Hylia

If you read to the latest timeline, which would be twilight princess, you'll see that information detailed. You were right about the zora feeding hylia thing, but its still not the source. Either way, the post needs to be changed to Death mountain.
