Are you familiar with the Chameleon spell from Oblivion/Morrowind? It's about a 50% Chameleon. Like I said, the vampire is relying that the ferals will distract you all enough not to notice him slip away. He still needs to conserve mage blood after all. If you don't know to look for him you're likely going to miss him. But because he still needs to put up wards, Ssarak could discern his location with a Wide-Focus Telepathy, finding that one "Location" that he can't discern.

Which now that I think about it, I should probably make it an expert level ability or something to allow a Psychomancer to go "undetected" from Wide-Focus telepathy.

So Ssarak can feel his wards and knows he is there, but cannot see him. Ssarak isn't going to just happen to look right at him and see him, but I have a plan, just have to get up in the air. Time to stampede.

See, I like it better when you don't tell us the enemy's tricks and instead give appropriate hints as to what is going on (as long as the hints are sufficient). I'm trying to reason out whether or not Ssarak could figure this out. I think he could surmise a few possibilities about what this psychmancer might be trying based on what he knows. He would guess that he might be either trying to escape, or stall for time to create a more solid defense underground, since sending feral vampires up into the daylight would be a really stupid move if he was trying to actually kill his attackers. Ssarak has put quite a bit of time into studying psychomancy, so he knows the tricks. It's like when I'm facing down an enemy who is playing a character in Smite that I've put a lot of time into. I know the strategies and tactics, so it's hard for them to surprise me.

Still, it's a lot easier to get to these conclusions when I myself don't know the answer. No need to worry about making a decision that I wouldn't have otherwise.

Hmm, I did not expect Alaira to ignore the first warning, then go after the trick. Ssarak might have to disengage from the psychomancer to help Darius.

Eh, we'll see what happens. He IS a Psychomancer after all.

If Alaira had paid attention to the first warning, she would have been fighting and not in a position to follow the psychomancer. If the plan works and he moves something he shouldn't, then Alaira can chase him down while Ssarak helps Darius.

He's a Psychomancer, not a ninja. He was really hoping that everyone would be distracted by the ghouls and he didn't expect another psychomancer to be here. The best he can do right now is hit Alaira with a psychomancy spell to throw her off his trail and escape through the forest.

Let's just say that when he tries to warp your mind with illusions, it won't take immediately. At worse Alaira would get a migraine, but considering what Psychomancy normally does to her, that's fairly light. Also ghouls are after you.
