The Walking Dead : Among the Ruined// Spin-off Series

- The reason I say "spin-off" is because there is already a The Walking Dead: Among the Ruined Roleplay out there. I currently Co-Gm it. This spin-off will take place in Central Texas (Bandera, Texas), unlike the original which takes place in Louisiana. The current roleplay/series is on its THIRD SEASON! YES! Like the show, our RP is divided into seasons(threads). Each season usually has its own arc and main plot/villain. I hope to have as much success here as we did in the original rp which is STILL going. If all goes well in both Roleplays, maybe the characters from the original may one day meet the characters from this spin-off.

When hell gets full, the Devil lets the dead walk the earth...

So this is a walking dead style rp. There will be action and gore and zombie killing, but mostly this will be about the twists and turns, the drama, the heartache and the joy of moral decisions that have both good and bad consequences.
Everything you do and say will have consequences further down the line. The walker you killed yesterday was actually the mother of the person you met today. That guy you refused to give food? He came back as a walker and killed your best friend. That little boy you helped? He came back with a large group to steal your supplies. Each choice is life and death. Don't ever get too comfortable, because you never know when things will go to hell.
Of course... it's already there...

Rules :
1. No fighting in the OOC. I mean it. You get one warning, then your characters gets killed off and you are banned from the rp.
2. No overpowered characters. It's okay to have weapons, but not everyone is survival trained and can make a rocket launcher with a pocket knife, some string and a potato. Be realistic with your characters skills and their weapons.
3. Gore is fine, but romance (if there is any during a zombie apocalypse) goes to PM. Anything above kissing goes to PM.
4. Killing of characters must be agreed upon.
5. Before making any game changing decisions please pm me to ask or discuss it in the OOC before posting it. This does not mean I need to make every decision for you, but MAJOR plot twists need to be approved by either me or my Co-GM(s).
6. You can have as many characters as you can handle. Do not ignore anyone and post regularly. If you can't post for a couple of days, let us know so we can move around your character. If you do not post in the IC or OOC or PM me for four days straight your character will be killed and become a walker. If you want to return after that, you can make another character.
7. People will die. It's a zombie survival rp. If I PM you about your character dying please do not be upset. I am not picking on you or singling you out for any other reason then to add drama and keep the story random and interesting. You can always make another character, but if you are dead set on keeping you character alive I will not kill them without your consent.
8. It might seem strange to have this rule but I have run into problems with this in the past so I am going to say it right off : NO ONE IS IMMUNE. This is not "The Last of Us" this is a "The Walking Dead" rp. There is no cure and there is no immunity to the zombie virus. Everyone already has it. Your character can be working on a cure, but that is all.
9. I reserve the right to add more rules if needed.

I am in this for the long-haul, so I ask you to please not join unless you plan on being in this for a while and will contribute to the story. I have seen too many good rps die from people joining and never posting.

In addition, what I'd like to see is a very low amount of "Soldier/Soldier-Like" characters. Not everyone in the zombie universe is a soldier. There are still regular cashier people surviving; Low income families, waiters and waitresses, etc. Normal people can survive, it has been shown in the television show. Also, this has nothing to do with The Walking Dead universe. This is an entire different universe where Rick and them do not exist.

Personality: Victoria tends to see the bad side in people and often holds it against them. She is a rather cautious person when it comes to dangerous situations and risks, but she is an awful liar and is prone to getting into trouble. When Victoria earns someone's trust (and vice versa), she is loyal to a fault.
Brief Bio:

Victoria grew up in rather normal circumstances. She lived the life of a stereotypical preacher's daughter in the small town of Jefferson, Texas. Growing up, she did normal things like fail at learning guitar and playing with her neighborhood friends. When she was a teen, she attended her local high school with her younger brother, David. Being the "preachers daughter" she never did anything seemingly wild to the people of her small baptist church-like go to parties or drink.

When she was 14, her youngest brother, Michael died in a car wreck, leaving a permanent scar in the entire family's life. For almost a year, her dad was less passionate about his preaching, but eventually overcame the grief. When the apocalypse came, her brother and her parents were away on a trip for his class, so she started out alone.

Buck Bradley

Appearance : 6’3”, 265lbs. Burly, lumberjack-esque appearance. He normally keeps his straw-colored hair and beard trimmed neatly, but the present situation has caused both to become more unkempt than he would like.

Skill : Physical intimidation, heavy lifting. Definitely not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but a generally decent human being.

Personality : Buck always has had a short fuse. It served him well in his former profession. Having said that, he was always able to keep it together when necessary. Early on after the outbreak he took up with a group of survivors, a few of which helped to soften his usually gruff exterior. A bad ending to his time with the aforementioned group has left him hesitant to trust or get too close to anyone again.

Brief Bio : Before the outbreak Buck worked as a professional wrestler under the name Buck “Shot” Bradley. He was by no means famous, but made a decent living and hoped to retire in the near future into a less physically demanding role. He was on his way to a show out of state when the outbreak hit. Fortunately a kind young woman picked him up when he got separated from his vehicle. For the next few months Buck, the woman and several other survivors made their way north. In that time he developed several friendships and became a surrogate father figure to a couple of youngsters in the pack. Unfortunately one night the survivors’ camp was overrun and Buck was separated from his group. What their final fate was he may never know, but he carries a lot of baggage from the event.

Bio/Background: Out of high school Elijah went to College. He double majored in Pharmacology and computer science. After he finished his degrees he worked at a pharmacy and eventually joined a small band playing the violin. The band was doing quite well and were becoming somewhat known around the time the it started. After doing a recent tour Elijah went to visit his girlfriend of 7 years. It happened on his way there. The apocalypse. Elijah first tried to find his girlfriend but wasn't able to. After looking for sometime he eventually decided to wander around. He looted several places, where he found most of his equipment. At one point he became involved in post-apocalyptic drug running. They people he worked for eventually died by him after they killed a group of kids. Elijah took to smoking. He copes with smoking cigars and marijuana he took from the drug lord. Now he just keeps moving never stopping, hoping to find his girlfriend but knowing that she most likely died in the initial outbreak.

Occupation Pre-Apocalyse: Pharmacologist for a few months as well as violinist for a few months.Drug runner for approx. 2 months.

Farren North

Name : Farren North (maiden name Gregory)

Age : 25

Skills : Athletic (can outrun many), Self-sufficient (knows how to clean, cook, & care for herself and her toddler), Intelligent in certain areas (worked as a conservationist prior to apocalypse) ~ Basically, she can run away & survive on her own

Personality : determined, caring, unaffected by the past (when someone dies, she doesn’t need to grieve, for example), dislikes large groups or loud noises/parties, dislikes being alone all the time, optimistic, good liar, perfectionist, responsible, stubborn

Brief Bio : Farren was the sporty girl in high school. She was nice to everyone, had a level head, made good grades. She excelled in track, basketball, and volleyball. After high school, she went to a state university to get a degree in biology. While there, she met Audric North, who was a theater major and swept her off her feet. They married within 6 months and continued going to school. Audric became violent slowly however, trying to control Farren. She graduated with her degree and planned on leaving him when she got pregnant. Audric had tampered with their protection to cause it, believing it would trap her with him. Instead, she became more resolute, knowing he might hurt the baby, and left. While pregnant she began dating another man, Seth, but put the relationship on hold for the first 6 months of her baby, Dean’s, life. They hit it off again and a year later got engaged. It fell apart when Seth and Farren moved in together. He found it too hard to work, be a daddy, and meet Farren’s needs. She found herself micromanaging everything, complaining more, and trying to make them come together easily when it just wasn’t. The mutual break up was hard as they had a lot of chemistry, but Farren swore off dating for a while after. Then the world changed. Sports didn’t matter, much of her schooling, dating… just staying alive with her not even 3 year old son mattered now.
Dean:

Ada Cinet

Appearance: Ada is a figured woman, with a skinny hourglass shaped standing at around 5' 9', to emphasize her lithe form she wears primarily black and darker colors. Preferring black skinny jeans and black knee socks over leggings. She's usually seen in a practical even toned shirt and dark jackets that are more style than anything. She has a seemingly endless supply of sports bras, and one good, reliable pair of converse, as far as accessories, she has a trusty school backpack and an unseasonably warm page boy cap, she's never seen without it, tucking her hair in, could giver her a more androgynous, masculine appearance, if she ever decided to go easy on the Gothic make-up.

Personality: Ada is sensitive and strong. She has empathy and believes in the good nature of people; preferring to investigate a problem and find as many situational factors and contexts as possible before making her own judgement. She also has wildly radical beliefs and will fight for her own beliefs, as well as those of others. Her mood at any given moment could be influenced by a variety of things-- mostly music, though, and her methods are as erratic as the genres she listens to. Ada believes strongly in using history's mistakes to guide us, as well as staying open, both to people and to all the possibilities of the unknown. Ada gives some credit to Louisianan Voudou. She has potential, and her being aware of this may sometimes lead to her being cocky, or even hindering action, but overall, she's a good, cunning and quick person.

Brief Bio: Ada, born on Louisiana's coast to a Creole mother and a Cuban father, is the result of what happens when a man leaves a woman, one who can barely take care of herself, with a child. Both of Ada's parents were unprepared for her coming into the world, really-- they themselves raised in tumultuous households-- they couldn't give the baby what she properly needed to grow, they were still children themselves. Ada's father left her and her mother when she was barely 4, left as a bastard for her mother, the woman turned to drugs, relying on family to help raise Ada as she herself resigned to a drug fueled existence. Despite this, the two were close, her mother's employment was always temporary and so she and Ada moved around Louisiana, leaving little in the way of making friends at school. To compensate for this, Ada instead grew close to the places she was, learning of the lore, legends and history of locations, taking it to heart as she grew.

When Ada was 7, her mother, now having moved throughout the south and settling westward in California for a few years, gave birth to a younger brother, who would become Ada's best friend. When she was 14, her mother got arrested and Ada and her little brother lived with distant relatives in Nevada. This was the first period of real stability in Ada's life, and it was the first point she had been presented conventional parenting, while living with these relatives in Nevada, her world view was expanded even more with constant trips and vacations, as well as better schooling-- while she and her younger brother didn't like the people who were taking care of them, they did like what they were doing for them.

5 years later, Ada, 19, found herself to be a much more open, intelligent, and free thinking individual, all of the characteristics of punk, hippie, counter-culture, beatnik and burnout. She would consider herself to be something of a syncretist, with many of her philosophies clashing with the current American system and societal ways and beliefs. She wanted anarchy, but tried to work within the system to change it. She was over her own mother, she still loved her, but she didn't have the time or energy to be mad at her as she got out of jail. Ada had to devote all of her energy to college, she found the American University system trite and needlessly traditionalist.

At the age of 22, the anti-capitalist, the anarchist Ada, having isolated herself from her family, flunked out of school, preferring to follow Emma Goldman and Diogenes the Cynic and make her own path.

She did this, more or less, by being homeless, sleeping either with family or friends-- or simply under the open sky. The similarity between her current life and her mother wasn't lost on her. Then the apocalypse happened.

He's become a decent leader figure for some survivors, trying to make the right decisions to do right by everyone. He makes decisions fast despite them being the wrong ones at times. John is a writer, always having this small notepad with him where he writes who knows what - never shares it with anyone. He's very athletic and does his best to keep his figure in the best shape possible. Also, John's appetite has become accustomed to not having to eat much to keep level headed.

John is always trying to do good by others. His main purpose to to change who he was before in order do right by his wrongs. The apocalypse to him was a fresh start, even if it wasn't exactly that for everyone else. He tries his best to be a newly surrogate for others even if he doesn't deserve that right. He believes he mostly has to do things alone in order to get them done. He has determined that all the heavy duties and burdens have to fall on him. That he is the person who has to deal with the hard stuff and have everyone else relay on the easy side. As a future leader figure, he's in charge of making the right decisions and taking on the hard ones.

Brief Bio:

Johnathan wasn't the best person before the apocalypse began. He was always doing wrong by everyone, stealing, fighting for no reason. All this happened after his brother died - not his blood brother, but his best friend who was basically family to him. The man had died in a car accident, killed by some gang members who were just 'playing around' and accidentally crashed into his car, sending him against a tree and causing him to clash profusely against the steering wheel, killing him instantly. Jonathan swore to get revenge, even though the culprits were caught and sentenced to jail for manslaughter. At that time, John had the idea that he would get close to the gang so that when the men got out, he would kill them. This took years, but never occurred. In the end, he turned to the gang life, working as a security officer at a hospital to cover it up for his family - mom and dad. When the apocalypse came knocking at his doorsteps, he finally came around to realizing he had wasted his entire life pursuing this rage to gain no satisfaction from it. The prisoners were never released, death was now imminent since the dead roamed the earth, and there was no longer any point to be mad. John moved on, apologizing to his brother that he could never get true justice, but promising that he would turn everything around and worship his death by doing good, probably what his brother would want for him in the first place. It didn't make much sense the transition, but to John, it was the right move.

Weapon (up three): A black, modern, Recurve bow with 20 arrows in its quiver; as well as a tactical knife about seven inches long.

Personality : Aubrey can be stubborn and short tempered at times. If she thinks she is right, she won't back down from the argument. The sarcasm is strong in her and she won't make exceptions to who she uses it with. But this is only to people that she typically doesn't get along with. To those who know her, or those she thinks are worth her trust, she is funny and caring. The sarcasm still applies but she knows when to use it. Aubrey is loyal to those that show promise and will try to do everything in her power to help them survive. She used to be an outgoing girl, still having her outbursts here and there, but now she chooses to stay quiet and do things on her own.

Brief Bio: Aubrey was born to a wealthy family in McAllen, Texas. She had no siblings and the very few friends she had, she spoke to very little. Her time would be occupied with horse riding lessons, archery lessons, and school. Although her family had money, she still chose to work, helping out at the vet's office a few blocks from her house until she graduated from high school and left to college.

She attended Texas A&M up until the outbreak happened. Her family decided to go north, out of the state of Texas to see if they could find safety or refuge. Aubrey agreed to meet them at a certain point, but in the mayhem and fear that the others were causing, she got lost and ended up driving to San Antonio. She stayed there for a couple of months, trying to find her parents but nothing happened. Since then she'd been roaming, trying to survive and stay out of sight.

Name: Salem Morris

Skill:

- In person Salem appears to be tall, and lanky, and with his approachable nature many assume him to be a pacifist, or in a blunter term, weak. This, however, is quite the opposite. Focusing on athletics, including Football, and Weight Training during High School and College, Salem is not only strong physically, but also mentally. Capable of handling himself one on one through combat, his knack for versatility makes it hard for him to be pinned, or succumbed. Cautious with actions, much like his words, he avoids rushing in or making impulsive move making it hard for him to be taken down.

- Be it through pretty words, white lies, or fake promises Salem can lie and manipulate his way out of just about anything. He can and will play any role necessary if it means survival. Unafraid of using others to get his way rumors, and drama are his specialty and throughout his time on the road with Taula, he's sabotaged two other groups this way.

Weapons:

- Machete: Found in the shed, the machete was kept as an inside-joke by his father before eventually being used for gardening.

- Glock 17: Picked up from an undead officer he and Taula ran into while heading out of Euless.

Personality :

Salem has always thought of himself as a people person. Friendly, helpful, and cautious with his words towards most , his approachable nature is seen as his biggest downfall by others--but Salem believes otherwise. Instead of showing his true nature, he prefers others to open themselves to him first. Good with his words, and keeping up this facade, he'll use whatever information or weakness he's gathered from another person if need be. His motto is 'survive-by-any-means-necessary' and he isn't afraid to prove it, doing so many times before. Remaining calm in most situations, he hides a rage deep within that only comes out in tense situations and when dealing with walkers. Therapeutic, but definitely not pretty, Salem finds enjoyment in this release. While internal struggles may be the cause of, his acceptance and adaption to the way things have become is likely a cause as well.

The end of the world was not the end of his, and as long as he's still breathing, Salem will fight tooth and nail to keep on living. Despite his shady nature, deep down Salem really is a good guy. Caring deeply for his friends, and whatever group he and Taula have come to trust, he'd be willing to do anything for the sake of the groups safety. Past all this Taula has, and always will be his best friend. She's the only person he will or can confide to, and no matter the situation she is always the first person he protects, and will defend. She is his biggest weakness, while he'd never admit it, but with some time he's prone to opening up to others.

Brief Bio :

Born and raised in Euless, Texas life was slow and simple for Salem Morris. An only child with divorced parents, he lived with his father for the majority of his life, his mothers whereabouts unknown as she had left them long ago. In his eyes, the small town he had lived in all his life was nothing more then a pit hole. Those who were born in Euless always stayed in Euless, and as welcoming as his hometown was, Salem wasn't about to get sucked into the pit hole he had resented all his life. Meeting Taula was the greatest event change to ever occur in his life, or at least that's what he believes. Dating briefly before returning to friends he cares for her like a sister, and with no siblings to call his own, he considers T, and her brothers family.

Upon the apocalypse Salem had lost contact with his father who was still at work at the DFW Airport. Losing touch and eventually coming to the conclusion that he had had been swarmed with the rest of the community in the city, he eventually made his way to the school and met up with Taula and her brothers. Traveling together for a couple a of months Salem, and Taula lost touch with her brothers on their way to Kingsville in Waco. Despite losing touch with each other they've continued to head south in hopes that they'll run into her brothers on their way to meet up with their Uncle at Texas A&M in Kingsville.

- Science! - Studying mechanical engineering in College, and a four years of robotics club in high school to back up her credit, T has always been a grease monkey. Like her father, and her eldest brother, Inoke, she shared an interest in cars and fixing things. Inventive, resourceful, and handy even as a child, Taula is capable of fixing most electrical items, including cars, and vehicles alike. Considering herself the female MacGyver, these 'survival' skills have saved her and Salem more then enough times she'd like to admit.

- Not much of a useful skill in the apocalypse, but as President of the Polynesian Club in both High School, and College, T can sing and dance exceedingly well. Her forte lays with traditional songs and dances, but with a photographic memory she has an almost unlimited lists of songs stored in her mind. Since the beginning of the end Taula has kept her voice to herself. Noise itself being dangerous, she's unfortunately lost the will and passion to sing.

- FN Herstal Pistol: Her fathers gun. Kept for safety before the apocalypse, and still being used for safety during.

- Hunting Knife: Given to her as a birthday gift from Salem, the Hunting Knife has helped her on numerous occasions when dealing with walkers, or self defense.

Personality:

Never speaking unless spoken to, Taula is a drawn person. Before the end she wasn't all too different. Quiet, and reserved, she came off as stoic and bitchy to most, but she only reserves that attitude for people she believes deserve it. While stoic, and drawn from others she is capable of having conversations and interacting with others. Highly cautious and untrusting of other survivors it can take T days, to months to warm up to people. Towards her brothers, and Salem, she's more then willing to crack a smile and pick up conversations. Empathetic, and protective of her friends and family, she'd risk anything to protect Salem and her brothers. Inside, Taula has been scarred by the events taken place. Bottling up her stress, and keeping her problems to herself, she's begun to crack more and more each day. Keeping up a strong face and forced mind-set, she carries believing that with hard work and a little hope, anything is possible.

Born and raised in Florida, Taula and her family moved to Euless during the beginning of her junior year of high school to live closer to family, and job opportunities. Cynical in ever manner, and resentful towards her parents during the first year in Texas, she came to isolate herself from her family and the people at school. Focusing on her studies, and aiming for College as a way out, she eventually came to meet a group of people that would soon change her life for the better. Meeting Salem and his friends through Football Management, she eventually came to enjoy the small town. The people she surrounded herself with provided her everything she thought she had left in Florida, With Dallas only a fifteen minute drive to the east, and Fort Worth a fourty-five minute drive to west, Taula found enjoyment in both the city and the smaller counties surrounded the HEB community.

Losing both of her parents during the start of the chaos, Taula found Salem near the school with her brothers and barely escaped Euless with their lives. Up until four months ago they had all been traveling together. Struggling no less, but surviving. Running into another group that meant to kill and steal their supplies, Taula and Salem became separated from her three older brothers. Making prior plans to all head south to Kingsville for their Uncle at Texas A&M, she can only hope and pray that she'll meet her brothers and Uncle alive.

Brief Bio : Farren was the sporty girl in high school. She was nice to everyone, had a level head, made good grades. She excelled in track, basketball, and volleyball. After high school, she went to a state university to get a degree in biology. While there, she met Audric North, who was a theater major and swept her off her feet. They married within 6 months and continued going to school. Audric became violent slowly however, trying to control Farren. She graduated with her degree and planned on leaving him when she got pregnant. Audric had tampered with their protection to cause it, believing it would trap her with him. Instead, she became more resolute, knowing he might hurt the baby, and left. While pregnant she began dating another man, Seth, but put the relationship on hold for the first 6 months of her baby, Dean’s, life. They hit it off again and a year later got engaged. It fell apart when Seth and Farren moved in together. He found it too hard to work, be a daddy, and meet Farren’s needs. She found herself micromanaging everything, complaining more, and trying to make them come together easily when it just wasn’t. The mutual break up was hard as they had a lot of chemistry, but Farren swore off dating for a while after. Then the world changed. Sports didn’t matter, much of her schooling, dating… just staying alive with her not even 3 year old son mattered now.

Appearance: Ada is a figured woman, with a skinny hourglass shaped standing at around 5' 9', to emphasize her lithe form she wears primarily black and darker colors. Preferring black skinny jeans and black knee socks over leggings. She's usually seen in a practical even toned shirt and dark jackets that are more style than anything. She has a seemingly endless supply of sports bras, and one good, reliable pair of converse, as far as accessories, she has a trusty school backpack and an unseasonably warm page boy cap, she's never seen without it, tucking her hair in, could giver her a more androgynous, masculine appearance, if she ever decided to go easy on the Gothic make-up.

Personality: Ada is sensitive and strong. She has empathy and believes in the good nature of people; preferring to investigate a problem and find as many situational factors and contexts as possible before making her own judgement. She also has wildly radical beliefs and will fight for her own beliefs, as well as those of others. Her mood at any given moment could be influenced by a variety of things-- mostly music, though, and her methods are as erratic as the genres she listens to. Ada believes strongly in using history's mistakes to guide us, as well as staying open, both to people and to all the possibilities of the unknown. Ada gives some credit to Louisianan Voudou. She has potential, and her being aware of this may sometimes lead to her being cocky, or even hindering action, but overall, she's a good, cunning and quick person.

Brief Bio: Ada, born on Louisiana's coast to a Creole mother and a Cuban father, is the result of what happens when a man leaves a woman, one who can barely take care of herself, with a child. Both of Ada's parents were unprepared for her coming into the world, really-- they themselves raised in tumultuous households-- they couldn't give the baby what she properly needed to grow, they were still children themselves. Ada's father left her and her mother when she was barely 4, left as a bastard for her mother, the woman turned to drugs, relying on family to help raise Ada as she herself resigned to a drug fueled existence. Despite this, the two were close, her mother's employment was always temporary and so she and Ada moved around Louisiana, leaving little in the way of making friends at school. To compensate for this, Ada instead grew close to the places she was, learning of the lore, legends and history of locations, taking it to heart as she grew.

When Ada was 7, her mother, now having moved throughout the south and settling westward in California for a few years, gave birth to a younger brother, who would become Ada's best friend. When she was 14, her mother got arrested and Ada and her little brother lived with distant relatives in Nevada. This was the first period of real stability in Ada's life, and it was the first point she had been presented conventional parenting, while living with these relatives in Nevada, her world view was expanded even more with constant trips and vacations, as well as better schooling-- while she and her younger brother didn't like the people who were taking care of them, they did like what they were doing for them.

5 years later, Ada, 19, found herself to be a much more open, intelligent, and free thinking individual, all of the characteristics of punk, hippie, counter-culture, beatnik and burnout. She would consider herself to be something of a syncretist, with many of her philosophies clashing with the current American system and societal ways and beliefs. She wanted anarchy, but tried to work within the system to change it. She was over her own mother, she still loved her, but she didn't have the time or energy to be mad at her as she got out of jail. Ada had to devote all of her energy to college, she found the American University system trite and needlessly traditionalist.

At the age of 22, the anti-capitalist, the anarchist Ada, having isolated herself from her family, flunked out of school, preferring to follow Emma Goldman and Diogenes the Cynic and make her own path.

She did this, more or less, by being homeless, sleeping either with family or friends-- or simply under the open sky. The similarity between her current life and her mother wasn't lost on her. Then the apocalypse happened.

Personality : John is what you might consider a small town country type person before all this started. He was a good man who smiled a lot, had a lot of friends, a loving family, he just had a generally good attitude his whole life and always a positive outlook on life. John is what you might have consider a simple and generous soul who would have given you the shirt off his own back if you needed it. John was the type of person who would take a whole day off on work just to spend time with people, especially his son whom like him loved to camp and hunt. A passionate and forthcoming man, again John was a simple country man raised on the basic principles of family comes first, and thats the end of the story. However now after the start of the apocalypse his out look on life has become rather bleak and just full of nightmares. John rarely smiles anymore unless it be to cheer his son up, the trusting man he used to be has been shredded by how the world has become. In a lot of ways John fights with himself on the inside, he wants to be the trusting man he was before, to be that gentle being he was before, but he knows that in this new world he has to be someone willing to do what it takes to keep himself and his son safe. So he is often conflicted between who he wants to be and who he has to be to survive.

Brief Bio : Before the start of the Apocalypse John was a simple man who worked in the general store in his small town, he had a small cabin style house just on the outside of town where he lived with his son Matthew. It was a simple life for the most part, it was quiet and it was a good life, they had just enough to get by and that was enough for them. More often then not on the weekends John and his son would go hunting out in the woods, and would camp, something they both loved to do. His wife having died several years earlier, Matthew had becomes John's whole life, and he made sure to spend as much time with him as possible, even to the point where he sacrificed a lot to make sure everyday was special. After the start of the apocalypse John found himself thrust into a world he had never before known, a world that was quickly engulfed by hatred, mistrust, and deceit. At first John tried to retain who he was, and tried to keep himself and his son within the small town they lived in, hoping that what was happening in the world would not make it to their small town. However as time went on the hell that had started quickly came to greet them, it started with armed looters and then continued on to the Walkers from bigger neighboring towns stumbling into town. An very much like everyone else John realized they could not stay and he took his son and went on the move trying to find safety wherever he could. This too was futile, a trial and error in a lot of ways, having meant many people along the road who wished to do them harm. As time slowly went on John began to stray away from groups of people, resorting to keeping himself and his son secluded from others. The only thing that matters anymore is keeping his son safe, no matter what that takes.

Personality: Clayton is a bit of a hard-ass but is not completely closed off. Stubbornness is the motivation for his survival not determination for life or love. He’s lonely but it doesn’t haunt his feelings. He feels old enough to have lived his life but not old enough to lie down and die. With the world in ruins, his motivation for doing most things ranging from food or water to exploration is motivated by either survival or spontaneity. Part of him feels glad the world has gone to hell. It’s given him a feeling of absolute freedom. Clayton has never cared for leadership. He was never a father by nature. He prefers doing things his way, explains the preference to being on his own compared to a group.

Brief Bio: Clayton was born and raised in the small town of Red Rock, Oklahoma. His mother was a cleaner and his father was a butcher. They earned a mediocre combined salary but it was enough to raise one child. It was one of the reasons why they never tried to have another; one was simply enough. Throughout his childhood, his father regularly took him on hunting trips and Clayton hated them. They were tiring, boring and freezing sometimes. His father’s motto was “If you’re gonna violate it’s innards with a knife, then you should have the decency to kill it yourself.” Everything from guns to skinning, his father showed him everything and every time he would complain like your average teenager. Clayton never hunted again till he really needed it and that wasn’t until 35-40 years later.

His father died when he was 21 from a heart attack. In his will, he left him his old hunting gear. Clayton appreciated it but never fully. He kept it for many years to dust in storage. He left to go to Texas to find opportunities but had trouble finding any. He didn’t do well in school and had little to no experience. He was able to get a job as an electrician’s apprentice in a small hospital in Dallas. It was a hard job but Clayton would take on anything to get paid. During his time at the hospital he met a nurse called Elise who would eventually become his wife and lover.

Clayton and Elise married when Clayton was 24 and they continued to live a happy and merry life; even without kids. The happiness was shattered 20 years later when Elise was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Even with Clayton’s job as senior electrician at the hospital, it wasn’t enough to pay for any expensive treatments. Elise died two years later after a hard battle. After that, Clayton started to feel depressed and lonely. He had become prescribed with antidepressants but nothing could budge it completely.

When the apocalypse started to hit, he witnessed the chaos and anarchy that ensured afterwards. To most people it was frightening and horrifying but to Clayton, it was relieving. He felt spiritually free almost. The sense of absolute freedom was something he seemed to embrace and not deny or run away from. He packed any gear he could find, including his father’s old hunting gear, and just set out onto the god forsaken world.

Other: Clayton is not an expert hunter and is very rusty; he doesn’t have any official hunting clothes, so he wears your average jacket, shirt and trousers. In the picture, he does not wear that hat.
