I don't see a problem with your nation, personally. I'd be fine if you started posting.

While I'm not a large fan of it, I don't have a particular bone to pick with magic. It only appears on my radar when someone calls upon it as a "Get Out of Jail Free" card in nearly every unfavorable circumstance that happens to befall them. I'm not saying that this has happened extensively in this RP, but Apollo's gripe with it illustrates an instance where it was used to easily circumvent an obstacle (though seeing as how it was Duck who was the perpetrator, I'm not exactly surprised).

[b]Why do you throw around comments like that? Considering I am the GM its a bad idea. And I like to point out that a single everyday soldier of Apollo's resisted a Archmage, who are some of the powerful mages, and two aassistants while they used amplifies. b]

<Snipped quote>

That isn't what I've seen from Andromeda or its sister RP, but I guess I'll take your word for it.

There ia obviously players more powerful then eaxhother, but unless someone intentionally makes themselves weak then every player is around the same power level.

And yes Apollo tou are accepted.

The idea is solid, but this is one step away from Kardashev-style technical tiers that will only be given legitimate worth by a handful of player nations that effectively set an extremely inconsistent technological standard for "advanced". I'd argue antimatter reactors are innately inferior to thorium fission reactors or fusion reactors due to their need for active containment units that, should they fail, will result in the utter destruction of the reactor and anything within an X mile radius, but I doubt anyone cares about any of these factors because the superficial Space Opera standard can easily be invoked as a suitable (to me: sloppy) counterargument.

To be completely honest, this is 100% true. I have a naval ship that runs off of antimatter, and either nobody realized that, or nobody realized what an absolutely terrible idea it was. If that ship is EMPd, then you can say goodbye to its whole fleet. But this is sci-fi. You can say that all your ships use fusion reactors if you want, but don't expect everyone else to do the same because it's more realistic. The Stardust/Void of the Stars/Star Empires (Let's pretend that last name never existed, shall we?) have always been focused on letting the players do whatever they want without godmodding. Wilson, at one point, wanted to implement universal FTL restrctions, which was a major problem because everyone's FTL worked differently (Aside from all the minor nations that for some reason used the same type of drive). That argument almost killed the OOC. Let's not have another, shall we?

I wouldn't actually warn for that Key, you know I am not like that. I am just pointing out that doing it to any GM regardless of who it is could be considered a stupid idea.

I am inbetween. I recognize that there is a need to be fair but there is times where you have to be dick and pretty much use your authority to do something assholish, for the good of the RP.

Another reason is because EMP is shit against any sci fi worth note.
EMP is nothing but a really awfully designed DEW. If your ship can resist particle beams that vaporize entire asteroids and such then your shields are gonna laugh off an unfocused burst of energy which does little if any physical damage.
Similarly if your weapon systems can handle Dews they can handle EMP.
I can go further and talk about how a few joules of charge won't change anything for a power system which transmits petajoules or even more energy every second.
So yeah, perish the thought.

The Naval section? The ship that's literally just the Yamato?

Seriously, how did you miss that? It specifically says the it uses an antimatter reactor.

I know the Yamato was a Japanese battleship, but that's about it.

And all 5 of the ships in your Space Navy section make no mention of the capabilities that the ship in the IC mentioned has.

It isnt a space ship, it's a naval one. And in the discription of this ship it says that it uses the same engine as the spaceships, which is anti-matter.
