I think a good comparison to illustrate how good Dragonslayer is at killing things is the first sword Godo gives Guts, a greatsword which he, IIRC, uses to cleave right through an anvil with no problems only for it to get snapped like a twig by a bottom feeder apostle. Which then gets oneshot by the Dragonslayer.

I'm wondering how long until Guts needs a new sword because he's hit something that it: A) can't cut, and B) is durable enough to shatter it.
A several hundred pound mass of iron won't just shatter when it hits something. On top of that, the Dragonslayer's been enhanced to cut through magical stuff. Guts isn't gonna need a new sword anytime soon. If anything, I could see it getting augmented if I run into a good enough smithy.
When I say 'anything', I mean 'any of the numerous things in the universe that are probably harder than Apostle flesh'. Much like taking that thing to a cliff face: it's going to get wrecked sooner or later, even if it deforms before it shatters. Though, admittedly, iron is a lot less brittle than steel.
Apostle flesh is actually quite durable; most mundane weapons have a hard time hurting them. When Guts took on his first few bottom ranked not even apostle demons, a normal greatsword wasn't enough; only the Dragonslayer had the mass necessary to cleave through it. Actually I can probably find Guts cleaving through rock and other hard materials without scuffing up the Dragonslayer. In fact, I recall he sliced through the hide of a dragon made out of crystals in one chapter.
Oh? I've had trouble getting past Rosalie. Up to which point, he was just utilising its normal properties: the edge might not've been that sharp, but sheer weight would cut through almost anything. By that standard, smashing it into rock would chip away at the rock and wreck the blade utterly. Of course, he didn't have the Dragonslayer for the Band of the Hawk era, and Rosalie's right after that. The whole Black Swordsman mess beforehand is pretty meaningless. XD
The Dragonslayer is relatively sharp, which combined WITH its mass makes it an amazing cleaving weapon. It hasn't taken any notable damage in the entire manga. Actually, if you're just out of the Band of the Hawk, you're way, WAY behind on the shit the Dragonslayer has cut through. Like the crystal dragon. Since then it's gotten tempered by Goto, and killed so many apostles it's becoming a magical weapon that can hurt ethereal stuff. The blade taking damage from hitting a rock would count for a normal sized sword, but this sword is far larger than anything a man should use, and that size makes it more durable.

I know I'm behind. I was enormously behind the crap Griffith's pulled off when I got that far, I just lost steam at that point. Knew about the armour before I even started, at least.:P I suppose I should stop assuming that Miura stopped applying logical metallurgy to the sword after 'make it out of iron because that isn't brittle'. Or at least got bored of it later on.

So I've been planning out non-combat stuff to do in general, since as discussed the RP needs to have a lot of that. I'm also going to work on adding more factions with Roxas.

I expect Nono to have to carry Saber out of whatever restaurant we end up in. Or simply drag her.

Honestly, I expect Saber to turn off the magicky buffs and just get really pouty when she loses at trivial physical challenges, if she does something after eating. Because she's a small, skinny 15 year old girl under it. XD

@Flamelord: I imagine so, really. Saber probably doesn't weigh much so carrying her won't be too bad unless she starts resisting.

Heh, true. Admittedly, for some reason I was considering it in terms of Saber somehow eating herself into a food coma based on it being a buffet, so it's more likely the alien space monster destroying android will end up just pulling her out if it comes to it.

@Flamelord: I'm not sure Saber CAN eat herself to that point. She seems like a bottomless pit when it comes to food, eh-heh. @CourierSix: I'm having trouble finding them actually. ^^;

We need to get Saber and Subaru eating at the same restaurant at some point. Just to make the owner cry =P

From what I understand, android is a perfectly acceptable terminology even if the robot in particular is modeled to be female. At least, that's what I got from popular media, and wikipedia. And the internet doesn't lie. I see. Well, sorry about that. Maybe next time.

I guess we'll find out then ;) And then I'm sure other interesting things will be done. (Like Nono accidentally breaking one of Gilgamesh's Excaliburs)

You can always me more specific! Though I have no idea where it started, one of the components of android is andro--so man. Gyno is woman, so... RANDOM TRIVIA.

I know. I'm perfectly fine with that. I really only included Frieza because I was trying to have pre-made characters for people to use if they wanted to be part of that faction. I'm cool with him being booted from the list.

I think we decided other people could kill Alduin, right? So he's okay... The Didact, well... I am biased against Halo 4 but I am trying to ignore that bias. ^^; Rythian I guess depends on the nerfs he'd get. On other matters, next time I post for the Swordlady/Saber the fight on Yggdrasil will end.

If Rythian is Yogscast Rythian, my attitude is basically 'do we really have to include steadily diverging personas of real people'.
