In the case of players, HP going to 0 only means a KO, not death. So it'd be pretty much the same for Summons, they'd automatically failsafe back into hammerspace or wherever they're summoned from. After a period of rest they could be brought back.

How the Result was deteRmined

I had the mob's accuracy and speed (because it was charging on it's Initiative) compared against Ryouta's evasion and speed, which was a variation of only 5. BUT because Ryouta could not see where it was while it was charging, I added in 1.5x accuracy too as a suprise attack bonus! Ryouta also could not react to it. This resulted in the excess of 12.5 which means the attack could not miss and Ryouta took 15 damage - his 5 defense. Now Ryouta can act but he used Flash Step as a reaction so he can only cast/attack again next turn.
