Not true, I can think of dozens of boss fights in World of Warcraft that require you to kite the boss around the room, it's simply a mechanic.

People that leave surrender their characters to me, so it's not unreasonable to assume that the character would be gone permanently. Even if you were to make a new character, what makes you think you'd be able to commit yourself any more than last time?
