[OOC] Heroes of Beacon - the Next Chapter

I was planning on making it fairly simple to make it easy for people to participate. You wouldn't actually need any knowledge on trading card games.

The plan basically was to have everyone make a set of trading cards for their characters. I was thinking like 5 or so for your character and I would judge based on how well you represented the character and their moves and what not.

Example For Napoli

I had this site ready to share and was going to walk you through the basics in the first post. That said if people had other games they would rather do it in(Magic, Pokemon, etc) I was also open to broadening the contest up for those. Yugioh is just the one I know best. Obviously things like having a picture wouldn't be required for the character one since I know quite a few of you lack one.

You would then have to explain the basics of Yugioh, Magic and Pokemon so that everyone could understand the expectations of any sort of card they created. I played the Pokemon Trading Card game once a long long time ago but other than that I have little experience with card games of this nature. I'm also not very good at editing images, even if it is just adding text and images.

It's a really interesting approach for a contest but I'd much prefer a character/item/weapon/organization creation contest or a writing prompt. I'm more skill at those.

so I'm not the only one who played Tales of the Abyss/watched the Anime

In regards to Tales, the games are always way better than the animes. Though Phantasia still stands out as my favourite. The game had an overall classical feeling which I really liked.

To be fair, explaining enough of a card game to create a card isn't any more complicated than explaining a fighting game enough for people to fabricate characters for them. I went into the last contest knowing almost nothing of fighting games, aside from a round or two of Street Fighter with my brother when I was younger.

I want to add that I'm only really going to explain the basics for Yugioh. Magic and Pokemon were options for people who know those games, in the event that someone would rather use one of those. In addition you really wouldn't need any prior knowledge as I'd give all the basics in the competition post and let people PM with questions or need for further explanation. I'm more than willing to help people find things that would work or how to phrase certain effects and what not. Also no image editing is necessary as the site just has you fill in text fields and auto generates it from there.
