Maybe, isn't that why we have to earn credits? So that they can realize their full potential? Also this party took a turn for the worse. My fault really, but I guess Gren's going to need to do something to bring an end to this spat.

This is why I've participated in so many contests. I want Oswald to actually be good, instead of a wall of meat. Don't get me wrong, a wall of meat is a fine thing, but....

well, imagine that wall of meat in mecha-shift plate armor. Imagine it.

Now remember that plate armor was somewhat cumbersome, but also weighed just about 50 pounds. That is LESS weight than what Oswald wears now.

For more armor.

BWAHAHAHAHAHHAAAAAHHH!!!

Ebon's good at what he does. Wouldn't want him to enter Beacon barely able to pull off his winning shtick.

Am I the only one who feels that they may have underpowered their character?

My character has mad skills in fighting but I feel like my semblance and my weapons aren't very impressive compared to some of the things that came in Second Gen. Sapphire's semblance is pretty passive for the most part compared to people that have Hydrokinesis or Wind Control or aura drain. When we first started most of the semblances were relatively passive, I mean there were a few like Abel who could shoot lightning but most were like Shiro's boost his allies, or Oswalds close distance between people quickly. Most of the ones that came in Second Gen seem to be weapons all on there own. I thought that the semblances were just supposed to be bonuses to a fighting style not the entire basis of them. Like when I was creating Sapphire I each semblance I looked at prior to Selective Sight the question I asked myself was "Could Sapphire still fight without this?"

Not saying that anyone with a combat based semblance is bad, I just feel underpowered by comparison.

Considering that he would be a new student it's kind of expected that he starts with somewhat less power than a second year.

I plead insanity and ignorance.

I have no idea what you're talking about.

EDIT: Also, Shiro should never find out that Ebon referred to him as Sapphire's Pet. That's an INSTANT bloody fight. xDD

By the way @Prince of Seraphs, quick question, if say a certain redheaded idiot were to be running out of precious, life-giving air, would it be too much of a stretch to say that the Ogdoad's cave might have an air pocket not too far in? I'm not knowledgeable in the workings of underwater caves and it is your creation anyway.

I'm comparing his power more along the lines of what students like say, Weiss or Yang can do. Beacon isn't a school where you learn to be a hunter: Everyone is suppose to already be skilled in fighting and their semblance. We shouldn't all start off like Jaune who barely knows what a Semblance is.

So...I've read something very...interesting. And terrifying.

Plate armor apparently was minimally restrictive due to the way its weight was distributed around the body. Tournament armor, on the other hand...well, that stuff was ill-fitted, too heavy and wildly cumbersome.

Apparently tests have been done with untrained people, who can run and jump just fine while wearing full plate. OOoooooohhh boy

Well of course. If full plate was heavy and cumbersome, people wouldn't be wearing it to fight. Mobility is still important weather your buck nude or covered in steel. The issue with full plate is that it's a bitch to get in and out of by yourself though.

Yeah but they don't come to Beacon already capable of going toe to toe with fully fledged hunters. Being honest I think at his current power level Sarina and the other seniors would have difficulty in a fight with him, which makes him just a little too far over the top.

The biggest difficulty of plate is that you're going to tire out really, really fast.

Also Team RWBY is like Beacon's ace team coming into Beacon with way more training than they actually need, having skills more like some of the less talked about teams I think would be more normal. Skilled but not like take out a city bridge powerful.

Besides the way I'm seeing Ebon's weapons and semblance it would take at least 3/4 of Team RWBY to take him down.
