Always be beep beepin'. Always be stylin'.

Well, my habit of wearing tie bars or clasps stems from my time in service. It's a required part of some of our uniforms. However, when I saw how ties (*hellacious snakes) act without them, I made it a point to never wear a tie without one. It just looks stupid and unprofessional.

Agreed. Sans the "time in the service" part, they wouldn't take me even if I wanted to enlist. Something about a defective pancreas.
I always needed to dress up for debate meets on Saturdays, and my Dad made sure I knew how to dress properly. And given the frequent standing and gesturing of debate, that meant wearing a tie bar so my tie didn't flap about and knowing to unbutton one's coat when one sits if one has been wearing it buttoned.

Sounds like you had yourself a good father.

Weeeeeeeell, except the depriving me of bacon part.
But he's a good sort.
my daddy taught me not be ashamed of our bacon strips
especially since they're so crispy and all

I'm actually wearing a t-shirt that says "You either like bacon or you're wrong."
<Snipped quote by Krayzikk>
Never mind, I take that back.
What a cruel fiend.
