@NarayanK Holy crap, I just caught up on the Sanger posts and damn, I thought I'd made Sapphire's backstory disturbing.

Oswald's backstory is mostly good stuff.
Until like, one month of a few bad things happening that completely crushed his optimism, happiness and most of his will to live for anything aside from a half-suicidal sense of duty

Sapphire lost her mother at age seven and from that point on suffered mild to extreme child abuse till about fifteen which she was unable to escape.
Other than that though her life was awesome.
At least her abusive father fed her and provided shelter. Robert didn't even have that. Forced to break his moral code and steal to survive, avoiding both the police and the gangs of the city while often times eating food from dumpsters. It's no wonder why he's so thin.

I can invent more suffering than you!
Challenge Accepted.
@Prince of Seraphs Sangue's past isn't the brightest! xD (I still like Saph more in different ways tho o-o;)
Why doesn't anybody win the lottery? I know everyone has to have a deep emotional childhood issue to be important but still! Maybe winning the lottery can be the issue!

Sapphire had a huntsman knife put through her hand at age fifteen.
Money wouldn't help? Living in a capitalistic materialistic society I have only one thing to say to that!
At age eight, Robert was nearly crushed by collapsing roof. Not only that, but it was also on fire so he nearly burned to death immediately afterward.

Sapphire sacrificed her childhood after age seven to keep her sisters from abuse.
Robert's sister died in said fire from earlier. Right in front of him.

Sapphire learned to almost unilaterally shut down all of her emotions to take care of her youngest sister who's uncontrolled empathy semblance regularly caused her great pain.
@Guess Who At the age of eighteen, Sangue found out Santa wasn't real!
Hmm. Yeah, best I've got for that is he had to sleep in a cardboard box with newspapers as blankets for the past ten years of his life.
