The Gifted Mailbag, Part 2!
"Dear cast of Gifted. At the start of this season, Jaden and Eli had a meeting. In that meeting Eli said something like the next bullet was coming faster. How could Jaden take that bad ass moment away from Eli and what was the most bad ass thing you have said in the show? Also will we ever see them on the same side or fight each other? From a guy in Missouri. " E.B. said.
"Well," Says Thomas Green, the actor who plays Jaden in the Gifted, "Jaden isn't, or wasn't, the type to take insult that seriously. He was arrogant, just like Eli tends to be, and he just didn't care. As for the most badass thing he's ever said-"
" No no, most bad ass thing that's been said on the show. " E.B. Said cutting Thomas off.
"Oh, my bad, I guess Jaden isn't the only one whose a little arrogant is he?" Thomas chuckles, leaning back a little in the chair as he tries to recall, "I honestly can't say, there are so many, I think personally, but I'd have to say tthat a lot of Owlman's lines and inner thought are pretty nice. . . though that doesn't really count as badass does it? Hmm, anyone else want to take that one, I can't really think of any."
"Bullet thing as cool, I thought. I've always thought Eli had some of the best dialogue in the show. If anyone else has one jump in. So what do you think Thomas? We gonna fight or team up ever? It'd be a great show, I've always thought Eli and Jaden weren't all that different." E.B said leaning back in his chair enjoying the mail bag.
"I can agree, though Jaden's a bit more refined in his ways, if not his motives. As for if they fight or team up, Jaden prefer a team up, but if Eli got in the way of killing aliens, something very prominent on Jaden's mind, or somehow endangers Eden, then I'm pretty sure all bets are off. And I'm said to say, that will proabbly be a fight that Jaden would lose in the end, unless he fights him inside, and even then it's an iffy thing. Jaden just doesn't have the arsenal to take someone like that on, no matter how muuch he thinks he does."
"A team up could be a lot fun. I've been wondering if we have to fight a great many aliens. "EB paused for moment to get his thoughts right." I know that the characters like Eli, Jaden, Cer and Nate, I love that guy. They are gonna be fine but like Eden or Ruby or Oiliva. None of them are helpless but at the same time they aren't combative people like an Eli or a Jaden. A better question, could imagine Eli as Edens father figure? " E.B let out a chuckle.
Thomas, also chuckling a the thought, took out his phone to check a message before he put it away, thinking on what had been placed before him, "While I can't say much about Eden, other than he hasn't been around for that long and thus doesn't know that much about fighting, I'd say you're underesttimating Olivia and Ruby. Ruby is basically unstoppable in a hi-tech area, given time and resources, and Olivia hasn't really gotten much in the name of combat screentime, Isabella putting her out of comission for a bit after he debut with a gunshot, which is enough to take down most meta's if you catch them unawares, but her Guardian Angel thing seemed pretty good for a fight. I'd say that we should reserve judgement for now until they get more fights under their belt. Now if you're asking me if any of them should be frontliners, then no, defintely not from what we've seen. That is defintely more of a Jaden, Eli, and Nate positon."
Strecthing in his seat, Thomas scratched his head, chuckling again as he though of the answer to the next question. "Can I imagine Eli as Eden's father figure, yes, vividly, would thhat be an even remotely good idea, I don't think so but it would be funny as all hell. And even though the lesson would be tainted by Eli's morals,I think he'd still end up a . . . mostly decent person by the end of it. Probably."
"Eli has a great moral foundation. He always does what he thinks is right! An example, someone messed with one of his friends. Well, let me back up for a second, we don't know yet what's gonna happen with all these stories. Anything could happen, for all any of us know whatever happens after the beach deal could turn into the Game of Thrones. Anyhow, Eli isn't misogynistic, and he's not racist. He's will hit or kill just about anyone." E.B. Couldn't help but laugh as he spoke. "I think Eli would try to... Impart the better qualities of himself but I can see it now. I can see the writers having a lot of fun with it. Like 'Mr. Craig, I got bullied today at school!' Eden would say all sad and disjointed and Eli would reply 'Damn it boy you're the Meta Jesus go beat they ass. Be man. Step out there and be somebody! " the crowd laughing out loud along with Eli's actor.
"Yeah, and I'd be laughing right along with them," Thomas barely got out, the thought bringing him close to tears with how hard he had been laughing, "And I know that Eli has an excelent Moral foundation, it's just his application that makes people think he's a dick. If Eden took that approach, then I think Jaden would turn in his grave just alittle, since he's more of an advocate for peaceful negotiaions, and before you say a word, I'm talking about when he deals with Metas." Thomas cut off E.B. before he could even bring it up, "Hell, he might act that way with humans as well now that his Meta-Superiority complex has been shattered, though it will end badly for him in the long run if he does, since the only thing that kept him sane whle he did it was the fact that he thought they were below him. Only way he was able to keep putting himself through that with out just jumping into an incinerator. When you think about it,he's a bit of a tragic figure in this world, the kind that Owlman advocates for, but he's a type hat can't really be intergrated into human society. No matter how hard he tried, he'd always be an outcast, a wolf amongst the sheep if you will."
"I always thought that Eli was tragic in his own way. Like you said he's not a bad guy and he tries to do right but he shoots himself in the foot every time. He has, like most everyone a tragic back story and we talk about it about it a lot unlike the other characters but for every bit we talk about it, we minimize it in the next scene." E B went to take a drink from his water both before spitting it back out and started laughing again.
"I'm sorry. Excuse me." E B said trying to compose himself. "Thomas do you ever read the forums and blogs postings on our show? The fanshipping is just outside this world. We have some of the most creative and creepiest fans out there." The crowd came alive at the comment, applauding themselves.
"Yeah, you said it," Thomas shivered as he remebered something particular gross, "I never went anywhere near the stuff about Isabella and/or Jaden, their powers able to allow people to get waaaaay to creative for me to even attempt it. And what put me off the stufff completely was when I accidentally happened upon some fanart. . . . of Camille and Owlman. . . . explicit fan art. That was just when I was like, 'Nope, I'm done, just fucking done with this. That's enough internet BS for ten life times', coincidentally that was he day I had to play Jaden during his trip down the hallway, where he looked all haunted and spooked out of his mind. Let me tell you right now, with that mage burned into my head, I wasn't acting"
"At least my obscurity saved me..." spoke Gia, "except for some pieces where I am being...'creatively abused' by my own brother, the previous Meta-Arc's Big Bad."
"Don't worry sweety, there's plenty out for you and brother dearest." E.B. said with the crowd ewing "Speaking of burned into my mind. Who was the Director that I pissed off so baddly? That I looked at boys butt checks for an entire day of shooting? " E B said nodding to the actor who played Jackson, Kuro and Mu." You guys think I'm joking but I spent what six or seven hours one thst board, him pulling me and having crack that green rope. Hats off to the kid though he has killed this beach arc but his butt checks will forever be stained in my mind."
"Well, Scriptwriter Letter Bee prefers to see my buttcheeks - in the show; we hardly encountered each other outside of it!" said Isabella, "so it certainly isn't him, while scriptwriters Potato and Mass are too interested in Female Bisexuals...perhaps you pissed off Director Rai-Rai, Mr. Farnum?"
" And y'all thought she was acting this whole time. " E.B. said with a self satisfied grin. "some
"That was the most embarassing thing I've ever had to do, and I play I fucking perverted brat," Robert groaned, just one of the Triparte triplets and the actor who plays Kuro, "And aren't their fucking laws against this kind a shit, I call chi-" He would've continued, only to have donught shoved in his mouth by Matthew, who played Jackson.
"Shut the hell up, Rob, I'm tired of listening to you bitch about that, it was dys ago, give it a rest."
"Easy for you to say, dick, it's not your junk and ass being shown to the entire world." Robert said affter he finished the doughnut
"We're triplets, you asshat, it's basically the same thing, besides, it's not like anyone can tell us apart anyway, so what's the big deal." Matthew chided Robert, who was about to deck his brother in his face, when a small voice made itself known.
"Y-y-you g-g-guys shouldn't be fight-t-ting, you know that m-m-mom hates it when you do?"
Cue Nathaniel, the actor who plays Mu, and an entirely different person off the set. It really stuns people when they meet him off the set how. . . nervous and shy the boy is off the set. Nathaniel, being a method actor, spends a great amount of time prepping himself for his, admittedly, few appearances, but every time, he plays his part perfectly. Robert and Matthew gave each other a final glare, then looked a way with a huff, causing Nathaniel to look down depressedly, almost as if he going to cry.
Isabella approached Nathaniel concernedly.
"You okay, kid?" the woman said. "Sibling fights are not always easy, from what I've seen."
"Get out here and kick their ass! Start with Roberts! I'm so sick of seeing butt checks in my dreams!" EB shouted Nate.
"And I'm sick of having you look at it, you fuckin-" Before Matthew could say another word, the door to the studio slammed open, revaling a rather pissed off looking woman with long dark hair, deep blue eyes, and some slight lines on her face, looking rather yong for her age. This was Nora Triparte, the triplets mother, and she was not at all happy. Seeing the youngest on the verge of tears and her oldest looking like theyt were about to come to blows did nothinng to improve her general mood either.
"Go ahead," she said, her voice dangerously low, "finish that sentence Matthew." Matthew, being smarter than your average child actor, stayed silent. But since he wasn't that much smarter, he did the next worse thing, which is try to run, an action followed by Robert. They made it about 3 feet before they were each got by the scruff of their shirts, both dragged of camera by the angry woman. Soon all that couyld be heard was the sounds of shouts, crys of mercy, and the sound of Nora's belt against their asses.
After the punishment was dealt out, they were allowed to return to their seats, both looking rather humilated since they knew it had been caught on national television and they were never going to live this down for as long as they lived. Nathaniel just sat were he was, trying his best to not draw any attenttion to himself, lest he draw his mother's terrifying wrath. Instead, hoiwever, Nora came over and lifeted his head up by his chin, drying his eyes with a hankercheif she had on hand.
"Are you okay, honey, did your brothers bully you while they fought for dominance again."
Nathaniel shook his head, looking a little better, in which case Nora kissed him on the head, doing the same for her other two boys, though they each got a knock on the head for their unacceptable behavior. She then turned to E.B., the pissed off look back on her face as she walked up to the man, having a few qestion for him considering the use of her children on the show.
"Mr. E.B., will you please tell me who decided it was a good idea to humilate my son like that without getting my permission first. As you can see, I'm more than a little upset by the matter."
"It was Director Raijin!" spoke up Gia instincitively. "Or was it Director Acer?"
"As I recall, it was Acer with the idea, which was a joke but Raijin was the one that pushed it forward. No when I said kick his ass I didn't think that was really gonna happen." The crowd chuckled at that remark. "How have you been Miss. Nora? All is well I hope, you aside from the child humiliation. He killed it if that's any consolation. E. B. was looking for away to make this better but any real way was eluding him.
Sara and Emma had been watching from the side lines, giggling and whispering to eachother as they often did. But declining to comment about the abundance of fanart that had surfaced after the pair had their cat fight. Emma, Cer's actor frowned a bit when the angry mother came on stage, "Miss, if I may, there was talk of letting Avarice punish Kuro, as awful as the whole Eli incident was not the worst possible way it could have played out. Not to mention, every one has done something embarassing this arc."
"I'm doing great, all things considered, and will be sure to have a conversation with Acer and Raijin at a later date." Nora calmed herself a little before turning to address Emma, "Also, Emma is it, not it's not so much about what has been done that I'm angry, but I wasn't talked to about it first. Now then if you'll excuse me..."
" Ladies and gentlemen, a concerned mother. " E.B. Farnum said with outstretched hand. Almost as like it was a que the crowd came alive with cheers and applause. I think that's about all we have sports fan. Stay tuned and see if the writers feel the need to ruin some child's life by putting them with Eli."
