Ok, the purpose of this thread is simple... Eventually, as the guild's tag system evolves, more and more requests will come in for fairly unique tags. Rather than constantly cluttering @Mahz Dev Journal with said requests, we figure it would be good to have a single topic where people can request tags, and of course potentially discuss the merits of whether a certain fandom/theme/goblin should get its own tag.
Recently proposed by @Mahz is the system of having a small set of official guild tags that are fairly static, defining the general category of an RP. These tags would define what level of writing is expected in an RP (Free, casual, Advanced), whether it is a regular RP with single characters, a nation, an arena match, a 1x1, or such, and the general genre of the RP (Sci-fi, Fantasy, Anime, Fandom, etc.)
The second system of tags, which would be subordinate to this is will be community-defined. This can be anything from established universes like Star Wars, Mass Effect & DC Comics to the stranger stuff like Jupiter, Birthing and ReverseBirthing (Ask @Mahz what that is if you want to know. It was his idea). In essence, whatever the community wants.
But to keep the community tag system viable and not bloated with tags that only have 1-2 RPs to them, which would not help a search function much, the tags would be moderated, either through an approval system, or through other means. Ideas for how that is best done are very welcome.
Anyways, on to the tags that have been suggested.
Some fandom-specific genres have also been suggested:
Star Wars
Marvel comics
DC comics
Pokemon
Elder Scrolls
Mass effect
Harry Potter
There has also been suggested a type of "tonal" tags, to define what sort of story in a certain setting it is. For example, a fantasy RP can be both comedic, grim and epic.
Players might want to find RPs that do their best to stick to Canon fandom, or perhaps they'd rather avoid messing with Canon or other things like that. The following suggestions cover that.
Have any other suggestions? Don't hesitate to post them.
