Nightmare Bunny An Organized Magical Girl

Member Seen 8 yrs ago

Name: Calico

Apparent Age: Frequently assumed to be in her teens, and is therefore often treated as such. In reality, she’s in her early twenties.

Gender: Female

Nation: Grado

Class: Shaman

Weapon Mastery: D

Level: 2

Background: Everyone in Calico’s family has been in the service industry. Her mother, Camilia, is a maid. Her father, Klaus, is a butler. Heck, even her younger brother Kiel works as a stable boy at the palace. Calico knows what an honor it is to have a position as a serving girl in the palace, but she’s been working at the palace for as long as she can remember, and honestly? She’s never been particularly assertive, but she dreams of a life where she doesn’t have to curtsey to everyone she passes in the hallway.

As a young girl, Calico was considerably more headstrong, often sneaking out of the palace at night to meet with her best friend: Aiden, the gardener’s son. However, one night, they ran into a thief attempting to steal a rather expensive bust of Emperor Rioga. They rather foolishly attempted to intervene, but since both of them lacked any combat experience whatsoever, they were pretty much useless. By the end of the encounter, Aiden was badly wounded, and a guard (named Vincent) who had come running when he heard the commotion was killed in the scuffle. Traumatised by the experience, Calico quickly withdrew from Aiden’s company and became extremely wary of danger. Despite this, she still secretly longs for adventure.

After experiencing complete helplessness at the hands of the thief, Calico quickly developed an interest in dark magic and shamanism. With the help of the expansive castle library, she began to practice magic in secret. Though she never really spoke to Aiden again, with the confidence that her newfound magical abilities gave her, she quickly began to excel at her job… until Jehanna invaded Grado, of course.

Plot-Susceptive: Yes!

Equipment and Items:
Flux (x1)
Vulnerary (x1)

Personality: Despite her tendency to be slightly reserved, Calico is generally a friendly and cheerful person. Growing up as a servant girl, Calico has been raised to strongly respect any kind of nobility or royalty. She is extremely cautious in almost every aspect of her life, and tends to play it safe more often than not. She would much rather kill off an enemy from far away than engage in actual, direct combat, for example, and tends to shy away from making any kind of confrontation in her personal life.

Ability Assessment: In terms of stats, Calico is heavily magic and defense based. As a very cautious person, Calico hates to take risks and therefore strives to minimize the damage that she takes. She has very mediocre speed: as a fairly unathletic person, while she’s not afraid to move quickly, the fact of the matter is that she simply does not run very fast. Her physical strength is appalling, and her clumsiness means that her skill stat is also kind of pathetic. For these reasons, she tends to rely on tomes, and won’t even consider using anything else. She very much prefers attacking from a distance (or at least while standing behind someone else), because she’s a little afraid of direct combat, but she’ll do it if she has to. Maybe.

Quirks/Talents/Aspirations/Other:
- Despite being a serving girl, she’s actually incredibly clumsy. How does she avoid spilling things on people? Some very cleverly used dark magic, of course.
- She's terrified of chickens. Once, in her younger days, she and Aiden snuck into a farm with the intention of seeing a newborn cow. However, they were attacked by a particularly fierce hen, and were forced to flee.
- Calico is strangely stoic in the face of all manner of evil spirits, black magic and insects. However, this is perhaps slightly less surprising when one considers the fact that she’s a secretly practicing shaman. It’s impossible to freak her out with a ghost story, unless it involves chickens.
- She can't sing to save her life. In fact, her singing is rumoured to sound like the dying wails of a thousand tortured souls.

R-button Summarization: A friendly young serving girl from Grado with a secret fondness for dark magic.

Name: Habit
Appearance:

Like this, but wearing a white, period-appropriate suit
Gender: Male
Nation: Originally from Jehanna, but does not feel attached to any nation.
Class: Thief
Weapon Mastery: C
Level: 5
Background: Habit spent most of his early life in the shadow of his younger brother. His brother was an extremely talented musician, and in a family of musical genius this earned him all of his parents' attention. Habit, on the other hand, could never keep a rhythm or hold a tune with any instrument. He could whistle like no other, but of course his parents didn't care about that. Even after his father was killed by monsters and he had to care for his mother, ill with a wasting disease, she still showed no compassion toward him. In fact, her last words to Habit before she passed away were "watch over your brother". And so he did. He watched quietly from the shadows as his brother achieved fame and fortune. He protected his brother from the consequences of his drunken escapades. And when his brother's career entered a downward spiral, causing him to amass great dept to a clan of bandits, Habit took the fall for him, offering ten years of his life in service to the bandits in exchange for his brother's safety.
He started out as an "accountant" of sorts, counting the loot and parceling it out to those who had earned it, but the leader of the bandits soon learned that Habit was completely incapable of saying no, especially to women such as herself, and she soon had Habit performing more and more incorrigible tasks. It was because of this that she discovered Habit's amazing natural talent as a Thief. His dexterous fingers, trained in the handling of even the most complex instruments, handled both lockpick and blade with ease. He became her go-to for any task of a difficult nature, and soon found himself as her second-in-command. It was, however, inevitable that someday she would push him too far. The one thing Habit would never do is harm a woman- physically, at least- and after having been asked, and failing, to do this, he fled the clan, becoming a refugee from these terrible bandits. He first tried to return to his brother, now extremely wealthy and living in a large manor. His brother refused to see him, claiming that now he was a dirty thief. The man for whom he had been forced into this lifestyle now despised him because of it. The man he had cared for and protected for years had rejected him.
Habit was extremely disheartened, but knew that he had to move on. He couldn't stop moving, or the bandits would find him and seek to reclaim him. He traversed the continent, never staying in one place for too long. He still had quite the reputation of a thief, and was never short on offers for work of that kind wherever he went, so he managed to get by. He has promised his services to hundreds of clients, and allegiance to multiple rulers, even when their desires have conflicted with each other. But he works on his own schedule now, and he decides which jobs get done and when. This makes him the perfect opportunist. Anywhere he goes, he has a multitude of potential jobs already accepted, ripe for the picking. One job, though, offers him far more than any other. Enough money to finally settle his debt to the bandits, to finally stop running, to finally settle down and make good on one of the offers of marriage he has made to the many women he has courted. And this job is to steal the Fire Emblem.
Plot-Susceptive: Yes
Equipment and Items: Iron Sword, Bullion, Lockpick
Personality: Snarky, sarcastic, but calm and calculating. Is very submissive, especially around members of the opposite gender.
Quirks/Talents/Aspirations/Other:
-A potent womanizer
-Hates hearing music, because it reminds him of his family life.
-Whistles very skillfully whenever he is concentrating on a task, without realizing it
-Very fickle when it comes to his true allegiances, and secretive about his past and his intentions, not afraid to lie about either
R-button Summarization: A Thief hailing from Jehanna who seems unable to refuse any task.

Harbringer Death to Asgard!

Name:
Archibald

Appearance:

Standing at 6' 0" with emerald gentle eyes and sandy brown hair framing a handsome face, Archibald's is seemingly locked into a relaxed smile at all times. His long hair cascades over his right eye, and indeed, the majority of the right side of his face, giving him a mysterious, if somewhat unkept air about him, almost as if he's hiding something... Wearing a mix of form fitting linen underclothing, leather straps and pads and animal furs under a forest green cloak, it takes little wonder to guess what his home environment is. A tattered black and red bracer over his left arm protects it from his own bowstring while weathered brown leather boots afford him comfortable movement.

Apparent Age:
Early twenties teenager

Gender:
Male

Nation:
Lawless, but Grado.

Class:
Archer

Weapon Mastery:
Bows: C

Level:
4

Background:
Most people would call Archibald a bandit, a thief, a scoundrel, an urchin, and all other manner of unsavoury names, and yet others would call him a saint, a saviour and a hero. He himself considers himself none of these, simply a person going through life trying to make it better for others...by redistributing the wealth of other people. Among Grado's officials and investigation force, his name is a byword for poaching, and yet he is low on the priority list. This is most likely due to the fact that compared to the other roaming bands of bandits out there, Archibald and his merry misfits are relatively peaceful, having caused extremely few human casualties in their operations. While it may seem that he simply does this out of the kindness of his heart, he actually does this as a form of petty spite.

Years ago, Grado underwent a famine which hit specific areas harder than others. With each county ruled by a lord or an equivalent, they were meant to send relief supplies out to sustain the outlying villages as they attempted to resow the failed harvest. Only, it didn't happen. For days Archibald's village waited for the telltale clacking of a horsedrawn cart but the roads remained clear and silent. People starved in the streets and in their homes, resorting to eating rodents and poisonous weeds. Finally, having had enough, Archibald's father took him to the big city to ask for aid, his father confident in the better side of mankind. What they saw in the Lord's castle instantly crushed all hope. A corpulent blob was seated on the velvet throne, mocking all those who appealed to him, throwing half chewed bones at him and his father as they pleaded. The area around the castle was lush and filled with pheasants and the like. And yet he refused to send supplies. Disheartened, he and his father left for the village once more to deliver the news.

Headstrong and unwilling to accept this, Archibald snuck out one night with his father's bow and entered the lord's forest during the darkest time. Avoiding the torchlight of the guards, he proceeded to poach not one, not two but three pheasants, shooting them out of their roosts in the treetops. Growing greedy, he approached his fourth only to have a hand reach out and grab his back firmly. In less than a second he felt a searing brand slap him across the face, searing hsi flesh and melting it like wax. Though he screamed, the pain didn't stop. The guard drew a dagger to finish the poacher off but as he slashed Archibald pivoted, the blade running through his cheek and scoring his eyelids before slicing off a portion of his face, leaving him permanently disfigured. Leaving with two pheasants in hand, he stumbled away into the forest, blood dripping down his mutilated head.

When he returned home he came upon the realisation that he would most likely be hunted and, knowing the personality of their lord, would most likely have his entire village be executed for his actions. Leaving the two pheasants at his parent's door, he stole some bandages and proceeded to steal his way into the night. Come morning, he inspected the damage to his face. The right cheek was almost entirely missing, revealing a disturbing rictus grin and the white of bone. His eye bore a vertical scar that almost bisected both of his eyelids, with his sclera turning red from damage. In short, he looked like a terrifying daemon out of his village's storybooks. Committing himself to exile, Archibald accepted that he would never look normal again...but he could make the ones who made him like this pay. Gathering a group of like-minded people, they began to raid forests and farms owned by selfish lords, redistributing the food to those less fortunate. Covering the mutilated side of his face, he began to become something of a folk hero to the local villages who were just starting to recover from the famine, and a pain in the arse to the local garrisons.

Fast forward to current time and Archibald has become a giant prick in the side of Grado's aristocrats who regularly have caravans raided at bowpoint. Half of the wealth is removed and given to the less fortunate. Unable to ignore the plight of the downtrodden, Archibald bears a distinct hatred of nobility and the like, even more so when they are unable to defend themselves.

Plot-Susceptive:
Yes

Equipment and Items:
Iron Bow X 1
Vulnerary X 1
Door Key X 1

Personality:
Archibald can best be described as a lazy free spirit. Carefree and easy going, he would rather nap in the bough of a tree than chase a caravan...and yet he chases it for the benefit of others. He does whatever he likes to do whenever he wants to regardless of social conformity, whether it be patting a fair maiden on the head as he passes or kneeing a particularly annoying lordling in the groin as he berates the 'bandit' for taking his dowry. And then, of course, his personality shifts if he parts his hair the opposite way. Becoming a demonic force with the fury of a snake pit, his arrows seem to grow barbs as he fires, leaving his enemies squirming in agony. Thankfully he tends not to do this for fear of ruining his image and seems to be a voluntary shift more than anything else.

Ability Assessment:
As a skilled archer, Archibald has high skill with his bow, allowing him to pick out, hit and eliminate targets with precision. Factor in his speed and you have an efficient long range assassin capable of felling any foe not wearing a suit of plate armor. Of course, Archibald is not a jack of all trades. With low defense and resistance, Archibald is something of a glass cannon, and with his right eye covered he actually has a very narrow field of vision, but anything within that field is very likely about to be peppered with arrows. This means taht Archibald usually enjoys company to watch his back.

Quirks/Talents/Aspirations/Other:
- He's a boy in his early teens...he's quite interested in the opposite gender, but most usually run away when they push his hair aside. However, he must admit that he does enjoy terrifying his friends and new recruits alike. (Note: Actually quite shy when interacting with the opposite gender)
- Has voluntary bipolar
- Enjoys chewing a sweet, sticky resin that hardens into a gum that is found in trees native to Grado. Has a jar of this resin in his pouch
- Dislikes authorities and authoritarian characters, particularly nobility.
- Speaks with a lazy drawl
- A little scared of the occult. By a little I mean he's terrified of ghosts and the like

R-button Summarization:
A friendly poacher who wanders around Grado with his merry band of bandits. Has a hidden dark side.

Name: Griswal

Apparent Age: Middle-Aged
Gender: Male
Nation: Grado
Class: Knight
Weapon Mastery: C
Level: 4
Background:
Griswal hails from a standing line of once-famed knights within the Grado military. There was previously some element of prestige to be had within the family, even harkening back to Grado's ancient lords. Such things have dwindled to but a speck in the wake of Grado's disaster - yet, still, they live on to serve proudly. As true to the nation's role in the safety of the Fire Emblem, Griswal as a soldier was raised and trained in sturdy defense. Employed as a guard for Grado Keep in the face of the nation's dwindling military, Griswal saw little battle against anything beyond the now-common monsters of Magvel.

During Jehanna's call to war, Griswal was deliberately held back from combat, fearing that any front-line battle could not be won in the long run. Surely enough, Jehanna brought the fight to the capital within days. When it was decided the Fire Emblem was no longer safe here, Griswal was one of the first volunteered for its escort by none other than General Nero, his superior. While Griswal himself found no reason to refuse, he would only later realize the consequences of this...

Personality:
A gruff, but respectful individual. He talks and thinks with the hard, confident tones expected of a knight of his caliber. While prideful of his prowess in combat, Griswal is not quick to anger nor easy to turn to violence, and would much sooner berate someone else for seeing excessive gore or death as a solution. He's also something of a stoic when it comes to emotion, and doesn't find himself pursuing things like romance, vengeance or adventure.

Griswal has been rendered somewhat cynical and sullen by Jehanna's waging of war over the Fire Emblem. The very mention of these occurrences can lapse him into this foul attitude, and bring with it a lot of pain. However, Griswal remains ferociously serious of his role as a protector knight, and would do his very best to protect his trusted allies and innocents. Above all, Griswal is a sworn guardian of the Fire Emblem, bearing his armor and crest with dignity in spite of the hateful men and ruthless creatures who would bear down on him for it.

Plot-Susceptive: Yes.

Equipment / Items: Iron Lance, Vulnerary

R-button Summarization: A proud knight of Grado heritage. Stoic, but empowered.

Name: Kalte
Appearance:
Apparent Age: Very early twenties
Gender: Male
Nation: Raised in Grado. Born in Carcino.
Class: Mercenary
Weapon Mastery: Sword: D
Level: 4

Background: Born in Carcino, Kalte traveled with an old merchant, Larkson, as long as he could remember. From a young age business man brought Kalte from place to place all over the continent, while Kalte wasn't sure if he even had any real relation to the man. However he didn't complain, Larkson acted as a father figure to him, showing him beautiful sights and teaching him many things. Kalte enjoyed his time on the road and holds the precious memories dearly to his heart. However during the their travels in Grado, Larkson's age began to wear on him and it wasn't long before he fell ill. He entrusted Kalte with what little fortune he had left and told Kalte, now a teenager, to find his way to the Capital and enlist in the military, as Grado's Emperor would likely never turn down an able young man.
So Taking the advice Kalte made his way to Grado's Capital. After finding his way to the castle. He begged and pleaded to be enlisted. Eventually he came in contact with Garric, a prominent Sword Master, of the Grado military, or what remains of it. Garric saw Kalte and agreed to take him on as his squire. Kalte spent many years enduring Garric's rigorous training. It was very apparent why Grado was once such a strong nations as the training he endured would surely break the will of most men. However the fruits of his labor paid off and he eventually graduated. He had grown into quite the strong warrior, not many his age could match him, due to his strong master.
Now Kalte had become a mercenary of sorts. Though he is very fond of the Grado Empire. He mostly would travel and assist villages with minor problems that didn't require full military attention. That way he still served the military. He acted more like an agent than a mercenary in those regards. His ties to the Grado Empire is what led him to be in the Castle when Jehanna attacked. He was there telling his master what about his travels, but was quick to take up a blade to the attackers.

Plot-Susceptive: Yes, that's the most important part.
Equipment and Items:
-Iron Blade
-Vulnerary

Personality: Very strong willed and calm. Though he may seem rather careless and reckless since he likes to take the frontline, his master however taught him to always have a backup plan. Loves to spar and practice his swordsmanship. In practice fights and everyday life he often acts a little carefree and jokingly, but will get serious in the face of real danger.

Ability Assessment: Kalte is very strong and skilled with a blade, as Garric's training pushed the human body's limits to the extreme. Overall he is rather well-rounded in most skills because of his masters style of training. However his knowledge of magic and defending from it is very limited. Despite the mages and shaman at Grado he never actually fought magic users before. So it's his main weakness as most weren't too fond of training with him, and when they did, they hardly went all out. Kalte's main abilities are his offensive capabilities. His skill and strength allow him to hit the sweet spots and with a lot of force. Being on the frontlines he can take damage, but he prefers to strike first. Especially against mages as he is not too fond of catching on fire.

Quirks/Talents/Aspirations/Other:
-Quite the haggler after watching his foster father, Larkson, haggle as a merchant.
-Favorite weapon is the the sword. He want's to become talented enough to take on even skilled lance users some day.
-Enjoys travelling and camping under the stars. Also loves music and dancing as he was surrounded by it at a young age. Has a habit of humming tunes while walking and practicing.
-Magic really freaks him out, he doesn't understand it at all. In combat he doesn't mind as long as it's not pointed at him, but it still gives him an uneasy feeling.
-Loves finding treasures and listening to old legends and tales, especially those about treasure.

R-button Summarization: A strong-willed Swordsman who likes to travel.

Name: Marwood

Appearance:

Apparent Age: Young Adult

Gender: Male

Nation: Renais

Class: Cavalier

Weapon Mastery: Swords: C Lances: D

Level: 6

Background: The youngest child of Ginnava, Marwood was her bundle of joy and baby of the family. She actually took the time to teach him to ride herself. As such he desires to make her proud yet at the same time with age came distance and difference. While his mother relies on codes and formal declarations Marwood is normally on his horse with a squad of knights by the time she start issuing orders. This has caused much division between mother and son, with Marwood often leading knights in to battle against horrors without having approval from his mother.

Aside from that he is good friends with both generals, he often finds himself in there company or training with them. While many of his men pass around rumors he is to be engaged to one the generals there is little no proof of that claims. As a prince he received a formal education and lessons in history, strategy, and etiquette. He threw away etiquette preferring to spend many a night out defending villages or celebrating victory's with his men. He even formed a special group of cavaliers that ride with him to villages and towns under assault, thus with almost all his training being done on horse back his skills off it are lowered.

Currently Marwood most trusted knights are Hodge, Ismay, and Mylle. Each of them are cavaliers from the standing army of Renais and all of them make up the Renais riders. These four often leave the moment word of trouble sounds moving between towns, attacking bandits, monsters, and horrors. They have saved hundreds of lives alone, yet while hailed as hero's it troubles his mother that his free form fighting is not proper of a prince. He has a history of being rather bold and challenging letting nothing stand between him and his moral compass, politics be damned.

This has caused to get in to trouble when he chased a band of bandits in to Jehanna where he killed them. He then spent weeks there getting to know the locals, with bothering to inform the king of his visit. The next morning an envoy arrived and soon he was sipping tea with the king discussing sword play, monsters, and politics. However after the meeting he was shown the strength of Jehanna's guild leaders and Sion's second in command. Fearing the reports he quickly departed with his riders. Upon his return the generals and his mother both gave him an earful which he quickly ignored.

However with the recent threat to Grado he abandoned Renais to go and help the kingdom. Renais and Grado were historically close and he feels he must do as his great ancestor would have done and journey to help the Emperor who he admires as a good leader and warrior. He hopes to help drive back the attacks and force Renais in to action and perhaps Frelia as well.

Plot-Susceptive: Yes

Equipment and Items: Reginleif, Steel Sword

Quirks/Talents/Aspirations/Other: An avid singer and storyteller Marwood spent his younger days sneaking out and telling singing and telling stories at the local tavern. He has secretly wanted to be a bard but royal duties prevent that and he also wishes to marry some one he loves rather than an arranged marriage like his mother has in mind, possibly to secure a new ally. He is a sucker for a good romance book, though he doesn't like people to know. He gets very nervous around girls and has never been good at discussing women. Princesses have scared him since boyhood when his mother attempted to get him to like them and marry one.

R-button Summarization: A Renais prince with a good heart and a rebellious streak.

Name: Narina
Apperance:
Apparent Age: A blossiming, young lady (True Age:24)
Gender: Female
Nation: Renais
Class: Myrmidon
Weapon Mastery: Swords-C
Level: 5
Background: Narina's past is rather complicated. Though she identifies as coming from Renais, she was born in Jehanna. Narina left Jehanna with her mother when she was three and remembers little of her familial home in Jehanna. What little she does remember is a blurred or has been blocked out by her subconscious. Narina does remember that her father was once a gambling man and not a good one at that. There were many times that her father would come home with an empty purse or in debt. It was only a matter of time before he got in debt to the wrong people. Fortunately, Narina can not for the life of her recall any of the many times when her Father came back home with broken bones or black eyes. Eventually, her mother decided that it was time to leave. Narina can recall the the she, her mother, and brothers all left for Renais while her father was out gambling. She even remembers his shouts for them, almost as if he thought they had been abducted.

With Jehanna behind her, Narina was finally able to see the light at the end of the figurative tunnel. Renais was a kind home to Narina's family as he brothers easily found jobs as field hands and her mother worked in the village by washing clothes. At night, Narina use to sit with her mother and look at the stars as she braided her hair. "One day," her mother said once, "you will achieve great things Narina. You might not know it yet but you will change the world." Those very same words would later become the beginning of many arguments between the two. As time went on, Narina realized her position in the world. She was a woman who would be raised to be the perfect wife for a man. But that was not the life she wanted for herself.

Narina would follow her brothers when they snuck out at night and watch them train with wooden swords. She would watch them until they left but would not follow. When she was sure they were gone, Narina would pick up the lightest of the swords and try to mimic their movements as they trained. She would continue trying to learn the movements until she felt as if her arms would fall off, then she would keep going. One night, her eldest brother, Kirk, noticed that she wasn't asleep in her bed and decided to go out looking for her. That was when he found her at the training grounds. Kirk simply watched from a short distance away as Narina slashed the blade at an imaginary foe and then move as if parrying a blow. While Narina was resting from a bout of training, Kirk approached her behind and simply stated "Your slashes are slow and clunky while your parries are easy to deflect."

Narina was shocked by her brother's appearance and quite simply stated that she wasn't being serious. Kirk scoffed at her as he grabbed her sword and another sword. "If you weren't serious, you wouldn't be here at this time of night." Kirk said as he threw her sword towards her and took a defensive stance with a sword. Narina knew that he wanted test her so she attacked him only to find herself planted in the dirt with his sword's tip at her throat. "Stop hiding when we train, from now on you shall participate." Kirk stated as he walked back home. Narina followed a few hours later after some more training.

Though reluctant to train with her brothers, Narina was happy that Kirk was actually willing to work with her. For nearly six years, Kirk and Narina would spare at night and Narina was surprised to actually find herself improving. But, all good thigns eventually come to an end. Kirk had been noticed by a knight when he took up a sword against some bandits and, after survivng the battle, was asked to become the knight's squire. Kirk accepted and Narina was left without a sparing partner. Yet, Narina did not give up her training. When Narina was twenty years of age, her mother had decided to arrange a marriage with a moderately wealthy merhcant for Narina. Narina denied the marriage and said, in the nicest way possible, "I am not going to marry some fool just because you wish me to. It is not the greatness I see for myself to be married to him."

With that, Narina left her mother and two brothers alone by running away from Renais. Narina had no particular destination in mind but just kept walking until she could walk no more. As if by destiny, Narina had walked straight into a village which her brother Kirk happened to be in. The newly promoted Kirk was surprised to see Narina but did not press her on the reason for being there. Instead, Kirk provided her with the job of caravan guard along with a light sword for protection. Narina was grateful for her brother's kindness and thanked him and she and the caravan rode off to markets in Grado. For once, things were going Narina's way... of course that was before Jehenna invaded Grado.
Plot-Susceptive: Yes
Equipment and Items: A some what worn Shamshir and two Vulneraries.
Personality: Narina is best definded as defiant. If you tell Narina not to go somewhere or do something, it will only maker her want to do it even more. She is light-hearted and of quick wit. If there is a joke to be told then you can bet that Narina is going to be the one who wants to tell it. Though, Narina seems to have a bad habit of making jokes at the expense of those around her when things are tense or she is very anxious.

Name:
Lexa

Apparent Age:
Late teens, although her slightly small stature and the remnants of baby fat in her cheeks make her seem a bit younger. She remains hopeful for a very belated growth spurt.

Gender:
Female

Nation:
Frelia

Class:
Pegasus Knight

Weapon Mastery:
Lance - D

Level:
2

Background:
It was the castle stables of Frelia she called home. Lexa had parents once upon a time, but they had long since succumbed to the temptations of irresponsibility. That is to say, they abandoned Lexa after they realized she would be doing nothing but drain their already meager resources for quite some time. She had only been six years old then. At the very least, her parents had been strategic about where they left her. As shoddy peddlers, they have swindled their fair share of the Frelian population, and they came to know which were amongst the most gullible. It just so happened that the royal stable boy topped that list, and it was with him that they left their precious daughter—in their defense, they loved their daughter dearly, just not as much as they loved gold.

And so their plan came into fruition. The soft-hearted stable boy found Lexa in the stables, playing with the pegasi, a note clipped onto her dress describing her circumstance (it read: please watch over little Alexandra. thanks.). He took her in immediately, just as her parents expected, and with many of the castle staff pitching in to help, he would raise her as his own.

It didn't take long before Lexa became an honorary servant of the castle. She mainly helped at the stables, where her affinity for animals worked wonders with the pegasi, but she also liked to poke her nose about the castle. It was like an entirely different world, she thought, full of wonder and glamour. Lexa mooned over princes and kings who sparkled in her eyes and marveled at the grace of the princesses and queens. When she was younger, she had even taken to following Princess Natalia wherever she went, often with a barrage of questions at hand. The princess found a confidante in her, and they talked about everything. Lexa loved hearing about her escapades with the princes, and often wondered who it was, if it ever came to it, she would end up with.

Surprisingly, there was one person that she came to idolize even more than the sparkly royalty she loved so much. The Captain of the Pegasus Knights was incomparable in her eyes. She was not of noble descent, but she might as well be. As graceful as a rose with her winning smile and gentle nature, but not without her thorns. She often saw her at the castle, and for the longest time, she even mistook her for the queen. Lexa sought to emulate her, and it was no one's surprise when one day, she theatrically announced that she would enroll in the training academy.

Her first assignment as an official Frelian Pegasus Knight was to escort a court emissary to Grado Keep. It was supposed to be easy: they would be in and out within a day. She couldn't have known there would soon be entirely different problems at hand.

Plot-Susceptive:
Yes yes yes!

Equipment and Items:
- Slim Lance
- Goddess Icon

Personality:
If someone were to bottle sunshine, what they would have is the very essence of one blonde pegasus knight. Lexa is an unflinching starry-eyed dreamer who will find a silver lining where there is none, even if she has to make it herself. She thinks anything and everything is possible so long as one is willing to work hard and push through all the way. Unabashedly herself, Lexa is also genuine to the point that it may actually cause secondhand embarrassment. She's the type that can say the sappiest thing without batting an eyelash, and wholeheartedly mean it, too. Lexa also tends to get swept up in the moment, which usually doesn't bode well for anyone involved. Giving a stirring speech in the beginning of a battle is probably the best way to up her motivation by 200%, and it doesn't even matter if it makes sense.

But make no mistake: just because she smiles like an idiot doesn't mean she is one. At least not completely. Lexa is passionate and resourceful; once she sets out to do something, it's as good as guaranteed, even though the way she goes about them is probably quite unorthodox.

Ability Assessment:
With her small and slight frame, Lexa doesn't exactly pack the strongest punch. She isn't the sturdiest of people either, and a couple of powerful blows can easily knock the wind out of her. This makes her a rather vulnerable target, and it's only exacerbated by the fact that she's flippant in the face of danger and tends to heedlessly swoop in the thick of battle.

On the flipside, Lexa is extremely fast. Her boundless energy is never more apparent than when she's zooming through the skies. She and her companion move in the air with nigh perfect synchronicity, almost as though they're extensions of each other. The trust between them is palpable and both are willing to risk their lives for each other. Quick on her feet, but even quicker on her pegasus, she relies on agility and natural skill to dodge blows and get in as many hits as she can. She has an innately high tolerance for magic as well, and is able to withstand a great amount.

Quirks/Talents/Aspirations/Other:
- Lexa met her constant companion the day she was abandoned. Of all the pegasi in the stables, only one had not taken an immediate liking to her. In fact, the ebony fledgling seemed to have outright despised her. Nightmare, as he was so aptly named, had taken to bullying her. He was disobedient to begin with, but he'd never been as downright evil as he was with Lexa. Their relationship was wrought with rivalry and tussles that always ended with her littered in bruises, but at the end of the day, there was no one Nightmare responded to besides Lexa. What's more, every time she was in some sort of trouble, it was always Nightmare that came to her rescue.

- As everyone who knows her can attest to, Lexa is a hopelessly hopeless romantic prone to falling hard and quick. Among her ever-growing list of people she's attracted to is the charming Sky King, the King of Red Sands (but she had to put him on a time out because of his recent actions), the Frelian blacksmith with the most dazzling smile ever, and sourpuss extraordinaire, General Nero (she'd only seen him once, but she liked his frowny face).

- Animals seem to like her a lot. It's probably because she's so simpleminded.

- She has absolutely no sense of direction on land. It's too different from when she's in the sky.

R-button Summarization:
A jaunty young pegasus knight from Frelia. Often has her head in the clouds.

Sorry for posting in the character's section: I missed the "Post it Here First" clause, and I don't know if there's a way for me to delete my posts. My bad!

Kevin

Male, Level 5 Villager
Weapon Mastery: Lances D
Allegiance: Grado

Appearance: The first thing you’ll notice about Kevin is that he is tall: well over six feet, in fact. However, he is clumsy, and can't seem to manage his own long legs. He has grey eyes, a thin layer of stubble on his chin, and dark hair that he does his best to keep short. Even in non-combat environments, he can usually be seen wearing some sort of shabby armour and a light, wooden shield strapped to his off-hand. In truth, his “armor” is made of old, thick leather padding covered with small, salvaged bits from discarded or broken pieces from other suits. This makeshift plating covers his torso, knees and shoulders, but not much else. This, combined with his wrought-iron kettle hat [[Not an actual kettle, it is a type of helmet]] gives him the image of the stereotypical peasant militiaman, forced to fight to protect his home. Kevin doesn’t mind this, though: even if he is of higher birth, he would sooner not be associated with his family’s name for fear of shaming it.

Apparent Age: Kevin looks to be a bit older than he actually is, around his mid-20s, particularly if he allows his stubble to grow out. (True Age: nineteen)

Background:
To understand Kevin’s background, one must first learn of his father. Sir Wilhelm possessed immense tactical and combat prowess that was hard to find among average soldiers. According to songs sung by traveling bards, he wore armour made of dragon scales and carried with him a fabled greatspear tipped with a magical alloy said to have the power to puncture any metal as though it were made of paper. Kevin is fairly certain that these legends aren’t true.

Both on and off horseback, he was a fearsome warrior, slaying every foe who dared to cross his path. From when he was anointed as “Sir” in his later teen years, he commanded battalions to victory in dozens of battles against the monster hordes, as well as defeating many foes himself. Sir Wilhelm, the Sword in the Darkness, along with many other elite knights, were shown off to symbolize a revival of the heroism and chivalry that initially made the Empire of Grado great. Though stories of his greatness are oft-exaggerated, his confirmed accomplishments are fairly impressive. He took a Grado noblewoman from a distant branch of the royal family to wife, who gave birth to three sons and two daughters: Clyde, Gordon, Gertrude, Layla, and of course his youngest, Kevin.

Kevin's childhood was not particularly different from that of any other squire, though people soon began to realize that he did not have the same caliber of grit that his older brothers Clyde and Gordon did. They were the heirs that Wilhelm wanted, whereas Kevin, though still liked, was largely ignored by his father and considered a disappointment. He learned courtly behaviour and manners, was able to grasp the basics of spear-fighting, had the same impressive stature as his brothers, and had more discipline than either one of them. However, he was unable to summon the same level of courage or raw skill that helped his father to greatness. Wilhelm sent Kevin to join the military once he realized that Kevin would need more training than the aging knight had time to give him. Here, Kevin improved upon the basic techniques his father had taught him, though he was slow to learn more advanced maneuvers. It was here that he met Caine, whom he considers to be a good (albeit rather bothersome) friend.

Sadly, no amount of greatness could prepare Wilhelm for his own betrayal. Exhausted after a major battle, Jehannan mercenaries under his own command turned against him. This is the last Kevin has heard of his father and brothers, who are presumed to be dead. Though he had only a small portion of his training left to go, many trainees were scattered or rushed to the front before he could complete it, and fears that he is mentally unprepared to fight in a war.

Plot-Susceptive: Very yes.

Items: Heavy Spear, Javelin, Vulnerary (3 uses)

Personality: “Brave” would be a poor word to describe Kevin, though “craven” may not be entirely accurate either. Kevin will quake in his boots when a powerful enemy shows up, but he will never flee from a fight unless commanded to do so. A man of extraordinary perseverance, he will always remain staunchly on the field with his lance held... regardless of how completely terrified or outmatched he may be. Though he is not especially skilled in battle yet, Kevin is loyal and disciplined to a fault, and will do almost any task that is asked of him. He has difficulty disobeying his superiors and immense, almost excessive, respect for authority. This is a result of his noble upbringing, which always placed a great emphasis on ranks and titles. Expect him to show even greater respect to potential teachers. Kevin takes instructions well and is quite eager to learn, though he tends to be hard on himself and has difficulty acknowledging when he has done a good job.

The tales about Kevin's father and brothers have saddled him somewhat of an inferiority complex, whether said tales entirely true or not. He has a lot to live up to, and prefers not to reveal his lineage so he is not seen as a disappointment to people who are familiar with his family history. He has a bad habit of comparing his own worst qualities and skills to others' best.

Ability Assessment: Slowly but surely, Kevin is turning his awkward stature and clumsiness into a unique combat strength. His unorthodox skills and maneuvers can confuse and trip up less experienced opponents, and his dedication to his training serves him quite well. In one-on-one battles, he emphasizes control over the fight instead of straight-forward attacking. He is quite strong, if only because of his sheer size, but he is simply too cautious and clumsiness to effectively use his full strength in battle. That said, his battlefield control and sheer tenacity make him very, very hard to kill. He can throw a javelin incredibly long distances, but has poor accuracy. (Decent skill, high HP, high defenses, but slow attacks and mediocre offenses.)

Quirks/Talents/Aspirations/Other:
  • Kevin has two prized possessions. The first is a small wooden violin, though his playing isn’t anything special. The second is a tattered piece of white cloth from one of his father’s old cloaks that he has tied around his left arm. This serves as a reminder to himself that he has a legacy to uphold, and that cowardice is not an option.
  • If a piece of Kevin’s armour breaks, he will repair it with whatever he can find. These quick fixes can range from resourceful to downright absurd, but they typically hold well. Though not a knight himself, the practice has earned Kevin the nickname the "Walking Junkyard", "Junkyard Knight" or "Knight of One Man's Trash" among some circles.
  • Though Kevin doesn't dislike bards, he believes most of them to be liars. "Fun liars, though," he says.
  • Kevin hopes to be able to live up to one day live up to his father’s name, and to one day charge into battle screaming “I am Kevin, Son of Wilhelm!” without bringing shame to his noble line. Unfortunately, that day seems pretty far off. He also hopes to have a story or song written about him, but an entirely truthful one uncorrupted by bards' pleasant lies.
  • Wilhelm often repeats anecdotes of supposedly "sagely" advice from one of his past instructors, regardless of whether the advice actually applies to the situation.
  • Lastly, he's got a pretty big appetite. That's not too surprising, given his size.

R-button Summarization: The not-so-great son of a truly great knight. He has a lot to live up to.

Name: Caine

Appearance (I'll draw her later . . . probably?): An elfin looking girl with wide, dark-green eyes and brown hair that reaches a bit past the shoulders, where it's tied into a ponytail. Short for her apparent age, she stands at 4'9'' however, there are hints of muscles and callus all over her body, which is proof of her steady development. Speaking of development, for a girl her body is . . . 'developed' to say the least. She usually hides her chest size with bindings and wears baggy clothing to hide everything else. Depending on the intelligence of who she is interacting with, they may or may not mistake for a feminine boy.

Apparent Age: 15-17 (Precise age is 16)

Gender: Female

Nation: Lived the majority of her life in Frelia, however she was and still is loyal to Grado.

Class: Recruit

Weapon Mastery: E

Level: 4

Background:
Born to an upper middle-class merchant family in Grado, Caine very much adored the noble knights and cavaliers that served under her military. It was her childhood dream to be able to join their ranks and help the country against the ever growing threats from outside. This was because, as a young girl, she'd constatly read stories about savior-heroes and gallant knights that protected their kingdoms from demons, invasions, barbarians and more, all the while upholding the high moral values that they were expected to have. She idolized their beliefs and their steadfast loyalty to their country, but above that, she admired the strength they had to uphold those ideals. It may have been a barbaric way of viewing life, but Caine truly believes that strength and personal power is what determines who is right, complementing that belief, however, is another of her beliefs that the ones who are truly in the right will naturally become stronger, because the conviction to their cause will hold their will together a much tighter than the conviction to a foul ideal.

One problem with her dream of becoming a knight of Grado, however, was that she was too young and more importantly, she lived in Frelia - this is because the headquarters of her families wool, tannery, and pegasi breeding company moved to Frelia, which generally had better fields and resources for raising pegasi. She planned to move out and apply for the Grado military when she was old enough and once her parents agreed, she immediately shot off and applied - at probably the worst time possible. In the middle of her training period, Jehenna attacked, cutting her supposedly four years of training in half. She, along with many other recruits, were scattered across the country. Much to her everlasting grief her pony died as well. Her current goals involve finding a way to help her country in the time of crisis while getting strong enough to do so, but farther off in the future, she aims to carve out a legend of her own for herself.

Plot-Susceptive: Oh very much yes.

Equipment and Items:
  • (Iron Lance) x1
  • (Vulnerary) x3
  • (Speedwing) x1

Personality:
Headstrong, aggressive, determined, stubborn, energetic - Caine is a very straightforward girl. Her greatest improvements happen in the heat of the moment, and she improves far more rapidly under pressure than under controlled situations. Caine charges straight into whatever problem she sees while rarely thinking about the consequences.

Despite her upholding of the chivalric code, she has a hard time keeping her temper from flaring up, but at the very least she can cool down a lot easier. She is generally a nice person and loves talking and hanging around other people, despite her choleric temper. Caine highly values her moral code, which is patterned after the knights chivalric code: the habits of loyalty, forebearance, hardihood, liberty, ethics for the weak and powerless, and above all, the upholding of honor for herself and others. Because of this, she obviously has a lot of contempt for the corrupt, cruel and honorless. To a lesser extent, she also dislikes whiners who do nothing but complain about their situations.

Caine doesn't skirt around issues that she sees needs addressing and will immediately point out and voice any problem she sees disregarding propriety and manners. The direct royal family asides, she will probably disregard formalities despite talking to nobility - her belief is that respect has to be earned, not given because of a title. She can take criticism surprisingly well. She is very loyal to her beliefs and will defend defend it at every turn.

Ability Assessment:
Caine's Speed, and Strength growth are phenomenal. Reflective of her personality, she is aggressive and opportunistic; if she sees a chance at victory, she will pounce on it, sometimes disregarding orders if she feels that she has to. She focuses on quick but damaging strikes, aiming to end things in one hit - and if that doesn't work, she'll hit them again, except harder. In contrast however, she doesn't focus too much on defense and constitution, so they're considerably than normal, which translates into her being easily injure - her method for covering this up is of course by being fast enough to avoid any hits, but a lucky blow from an enemy has a high chance of disabling her. Her Skill is fairly normal for her class, but has rapid growth, however her luck is a bit above average but caps very early on.

Quirks/Talents/Aspirations/Other:
  • She is a skilled horse/pegasi rider, which is natural considering her family breeds them. She has no exerience fighting on one, however, and despite her families dealing with pegasi on a daily basis, she prefers regular horses a lot more.
  • Another talent that is less known is her talent in singing - she really has a beautiful voice. Sadly, she refuses to sing in front of people and thinks that it's 'too girly and doesn't suit her'. Her parents are very much dismayed about this, as back then she used to sing cute nursery rhymes for them all the time. Caine really doesn't want to remember that.
  • Caine, due to the rush-and-about lives of recruits has a tendency to sleep in one of two ways; either completely armored, unwashed and dirty while still holding her weapons or clean, washed and completely nude. Which state she ends up in depends on the situation at hand.
  • Once upon a time, Caine was widely considered to be a very attractive girl when she was young, and it was expected she would only grow more-so once she grew up. Years of obsessing over fighting and training however, have since covered up that beauty with grime, sweat, and general unkemptness, so she's a lot less attractive to look at now. Should she bother to clean up however, people will be very surprised to find out that she is no less beautiful than she was expected to be.
  • Completely obsessed with growing stronger. Even before her recruitment period, she had a habit of wanting to get stronger than she did before, resulting in some nasty accidents, such as accidentally injuring her home tutors, broke several important (not to mention expensive) decorations and more.
  • She's a skilled writer, reader and mathematician due to her family being rich enough to afford tutors, however this is constantly buried under her more physical aspirations.
