With a two, you shouldn't find a dang thing in the ground.

That's not enough. The guy who runs the bar/inn is extremely greedy. Basically, our most intelligent guy would have to roll a 20 in order for him to give away anything (other than water) for free.

The village would know. Besides, Dorisma has money. A room should only cost about 4 bronze per character, so, 16 bronze, or 1 silver and 6 bronze can be covered by her starting cast - up to two silver... and I'm pretty sure she didn't eat 20 bowls of gumbo before she stole the pot.
