I suppose. I was thinking it would take a week before an egg would hatch and a new spider would be available. I wouldn't want it to be something that she could just make happen on the spot.

Why not a Spider Shifter instead of a full-blown Goddess and creator of all spiders? She could still give birth to broods of spiders and claim the title of "Queen" this way, but taking out the "mother of all spiders" background means she isn't more powerful than the dread mummy. Or perhaps she tells everyone she's THE Arachne when she really isn't, as a way of inflating her own power.

I think Seuss was going for a motley band of heroes feel with this RP (unless I'm mistaken and s/he is free to correct me). I handicapped Parael specifically to keep in this feeling.

Well she isn't a goddess. It is merely a title. She possesses no abilities beyond the biological one that she gained by being turned into a spider.

Haha. Sorry for not making that clearer in the beginning. I forgot that spawn can have various meanings depending on the context.

Also the thing that is keeping communication down, what all can/will it stop? Can humans walk through it or is this something that the military is going to notice very quickly?

Humans can get through fine. And so far, as far as anyone knows, they can get in and out. Supernaturals can go in, but they can't get out. The mechanism is not entirely known at this time, but if someone attempts to call out and warn anyone of what is happening, they are unable to get the words out. If their intention is to do that from the getgo, they can't even start dialing/typing.

@ArkmageddonCat Sorry, but that character is downchecked; too much overlap with another character that becomes insubstantial and gathers information.

What I really need for character concepts is stuff that's a little darker and histories that aren't as reputable. I feel like we have enough 'bonafide, upright good guy' types running around, even a Seelie faerie, but I'm sort of looking for darker and less reputable characters at this point.

I personally think this character can be salvaged. If I may offer my advice?

Cut out the wormhole power or severely limit it, like, more than it is.

I like the idea of him being a soul in a constructed body. Like a Frankenstein's monster, almost! With that in mind, maybe his soul and his mind don't jive as well. He's not dumb, but almost sociopathic in that he doesn't really care how other people view his actions. So when Arachne says "Yo, you shouldn't have murdered all five of the Magician's guards," he might shrug and say "They were in the way and you said no witnesses. Now you'll have five fewer enemies. And I cleaned up the bodies."

But when someone or something hits home, he still displays emotions about it.

Finally, the Prophets add a great layer of mystery of to the character. Keep them in your back pocket for a character twist somewhere down the line!

Take it all or leave it as you like.

You sir(or ma'am), are awesome. I'm in a bit of a slump cause I created this character but my creativity is actively going elsewhere. My only issue is that I've tried and failed at emotionless characters before, but I'm sure I can make do.

Would severely limiting the wormhole ability be satisfied by making it only teleport to locations within sight? Or through objects? And reducing range of course...

...may need some more duct tape though...

If emotionless is not your thing, go ahead and write emotion. I'm saying remove the conscience.

He looks at a homeless man and feels sad for the man. How unfortunate that the man must suffer such deprivation in this world! How truly horrid!

He's confronted with a thief as he turns the corner, the mortal holding a gun. He quickly pummels the shite out of the man, leaves him with a dozen broken bones and second degree burns from electricity, and has nary a scratch on his own hands. He continues on his way, whistling while he walks. Why should he feel bad? The thief drew first.

As for the portal, if you have trouble limiting it, I'd nix it entirely then. Could be a Deus ex Machina, and nothing ruins an RP like a Deus ex power. I just deleted Parael's phasing power since I was on the fence about it for a while too.
