India, that's Rajasthan mostly, some the interiors come from palaces further south. I lived out there for about 5 months.

And what was the Voivode supposed to be? The ruler of the Visha Empire? Because I think Aaron's first post gave them a title.

Vivoide's direct translation means warlord, but it is generally a term for a steward or a viceroy or governor, although its most famous usage, for Wallachia, was the ruler there outright.

It was meant to be that there was a Visha governor who oversaw Vos before the collapse of the empire, hence why they don't have a single head of state now, because their head of state was always Visha.

You can just make up words that are vaguely Hindi-sounding. It's likely that is what became of the Visha language as the empire crumbled and their tongue was bastardized. Input words like 'King' into Google translate, and then mix them up to make your own words. Or something. It doesn't have to be literally Hindi. I'd actually prefer it wasn't, since Hindi as a language in a fantasy world seems really out of place, even with the Hindu themes.

@Pepperm1nts Yeah, I just prefer using titles and stuff people know, it can be a pain in the ass remembering made up words, and you don't have to explain stuff as much.

Keep the words in a notepad file. That's what I'm doing. And anyone paying attention will understand what your made up words mean as long as you make them pronounceable.

Ah. You could always just call them the Visha governor. Simple and easy, and it doesn't look particularly out of place since it's English and it doesn't need to be a specific title.

It's nice to see images that aren't whole-heartily torn from Google or DeviantArt to substitute someone's laziness with illustrative content. And you certainly have a lot of understanding on the theme, complete with first-hand. You're good Kassarock, can't really think of anything that struck out at me, save for a few small complaints.

I'm not going to consider their race any different from humans, so I'll just disregard the race bit and assume "human" and everything else is mythology. And Maharaja is probably a more fitting term than Magnate. Maharaja being "King of kings".

I'll just go and deal with some other things before I edit the map accordingly.
