A race? The three of them had been thinking the same thing. Humor must be a defense mechanism in the family. A nuance picked up from her brother's memories and the past five years. They would get there either way. "Alright, you're on. See you at the academy." After saying it she paused slightly before running off to her ship.

The ship itself was always hidden out of sight. At least when not in use. Becoming somewhat of a mechanic she was the only one that really understood how it functioned. The headset allowed her the option to control it remotely for quite some distance. If the pilot was inside she could set it so others could fly it as well, affording it was plugged in. Training the boys on how to use it was tough. The thing was not designed for the human brain so the neurons were not in the same place.

Five minutes prior to the attack

A normal day at the Academy. Students were out and about. Since sticking around Mimic and Kagerou would take turns teaching Power Development each month. This was her month so she had this last week. Having changed things up a bit she was having the students play a game of king of the hill.

Not even five minutes in a deafening rumble came from above. Dust and small pieces of the ceiling above came down. Something big had hit the Academy and before the instructor could really move to go see what had happened a second crash landed and the room began to break up. No time to see what it was. Hands out and closing them back together everyone, including herself, in the training room was pushed to the center by telekinesis. IT probably was not the most pleasant experience suddenly being shoved but it saved their lives. As the rest of the building came down on them Kagerou erected a barrier around them.

For what must have seemed like forever to thee students rubble fell down around them, visible through the transparent TK shield. In short order they were effectively buried alive. They only had so much air, so Kagerou tried to keep them all calm. She wasn't going to tell the students this, but she could sense lives being extinguished. "It's alright, we're safe. I'm not going to let anything happen to you." Another rumble rattles the earth and everything shifted around them. While she could hold it together there was nowhere to go until it ended.

Present

Things had been quiet. They were too far underground to hear anything on the surface. But there didn't seem to be anyone out there that was attacking. The first order of business was getting some fresh air into the bubble they were in. Pointing up she shot a thin line of TK force through the debris above. A nearly imperceptible puff of air came out on the surface. A second one insured that they could continue breathing.

Crow felt an energy signature, and slowly, he looked over towards the side. There, standing at a distance, a floating female stared at him, dressed much in the same manner as he; She wore a black cloak and all...and there was something extremely familiar about her. He didn't know why, since he couldn't see her face...but there was still a connection. Deciding that it wasn't important, Crow turned away from her, floating down until his feet were only a few feet above the ground. There, he floated around the wreckage, head turning periodically as he looked at the wreckage.

Ben Parker
Without wasting a moment, Ben dives out of the nearest window, vanishing from view as he sprints and leaps across rooftops. Without a ship or webs to speed him along, he'd need to make use of whatever head start he could, no matter how small.

John Brock

John soon arrives at the Academy and begins walking through the debris, hoping with all his heart to find someone still clinging to life. As he wanders listlessly, scanning the rubble and waiting Connor's group, John notices a pile of wreckage emit a small puff of dust. Although he pays it little attention, it is soon followed by another, larger cloud of dust shoots into the air. John, deciding to investigate, jogs over to the pile of rubbish. He powers up and, following his instincts, begins lifting away chunks of cement and bricks, dismantling the pile piece by piece.

John noticed someone biting another student. Erik had taken one chunk out of a small girl's shoulder. . . his mouth was full of razor sharp teeth and the vampire was struggling not to continue his snack. At this point any vampire would have given up and just ate the entire girl without restraint. The monster turned his head towards John, "Help us!"

Kalinda

Kalinda shook her head, and turned back to the problem at hand. She closed her eyes, and focused on her empathy.

Fear. Pain.

There. Familiar emotions. Kagerou. Kalinda had always found her a little strange, but then, she wasn't exactly one to talk.!She was still alive then. Where? Kalinda dropped down to the ground. She walked a bit, then stopped when she saw John moving the debris. She proved some more for emotions, sensing more with Kagerou. Students? They weren't teachers, at least she didn't think so.

Kalinda paused, Rocking back on her feet.

"Okay" she murmurred. It wouldn't be hard, what with all the strong emotions she could feel. She took a deep breath, taking a few steps back. In her minds eye, she saw what she wanted to do. she gave a testing push on the debris, feeling the unstableness of it all. So she would have to be quick and careful, keeping the other debris in place, at least until whoever was under there got out. "I think I have a quicker way, John. It will be easy. So much pain and fear, to use my telekenisis"

She decided not to wait to see if John would move, instead, she would work around him, Using her TK, she began to move half the debris, in what she detected was the area where those trapped were, avoiding John. lifting it into the air, pushing against the sides of the remain debris to keep it where it was. "Hurry, or I'll drop it down on you all again" although she could hold it for some time, it was hard.

She wasn't entirely sure how stable what she was doing was. It could all come crashing down in seconds. Kalinda didn't like senseless death, and that was what was here. "Hey! Dark black and scary! Think you can help get these students out, or are you just going to stand there?" She called to the stranger.

Phoebe

Phoebe nodded "I was only thinking about it this morning" she said, and then Ryan was running. She had become use to this over the years, and she could tell in his movements that he wasn't running at full speed.

She ducked her head down, against his chest, as the air brushed passed fast. She just wanted to get to the academy, find out what happened. She closed her eyes against the wind

As tht arrived, and when Ryan out her down, she stared wide eyed at it. Then she began to walk, lookin about. It couldn't all be gone, could it?

Connor

Connor arrived quite quickly, landing and looking about. It seemed unbelieveBle and yet, he was seeing it. How many people had perished here, students never to graduate? Children really, for all their powers and parents, they had barely begun their lives.

"Oh, hell"

He looked for any of his team, but knew he wouldn't wait long to start searching for any survivers

Ryan
Once they were there Ryan began to look around the entire school. It did not look that good from what he could see of the area around him. He nodded to Connor as he started running around the area of the school trying to get survivors. He looked around and saw some freak eating a girl. He ran over towards the thing. "Hey! Monster! Get off her!" He said glaring at whatever this thing was. It was not human.

Jack
Jack sighed as Ben tried to get a head start. He dove out the same window and fired his webs and swung off towards the location of the Academy. He was not gonna do this to win.

"I need McCoy's substitute recipe. If I can't eat something I will grow feral and will have to be put down." Erik stated calmly. "Thank God you got here when you did, my mutation is supernatural in nature. I would have started to eating corpses or the dying if you didn't get here".

Estella

To some extent the race thing was stupid, but forgoing the thought she loaded up in her ship and took off. Once she was seated she let the thing loose. Not having to deal with terrain she flew over everything and was the first of the team to arrive. An unfair advantage perhaps, but that was the least on her mind. Some of the others were already there. Several of them she hadn't seen in years and there were a couple she didn't recognize.

The first task was to find anyone who was still alive. Telepathy was her best bet and wouldn't be hindered by the remains of the building. If you can hear me respond with your thoughts. Where were you when the building collapsed?"

Kagerou

She could feel some of the pressure let up. From the life forces she was sensing the graduated students were coming to rescue them. That was fine, a little help never hurt anyone. Suddenly she heard the voice of the alien girl, Estella, in her head. "If you can hear me respond with your thoughts. Where were you when the building collapsed?" Excellent, they had communication. Good to hear you again Estella. I have a majority of the students with me in Power Development. I think that Kalinda and John are trying to make their way to us. Tell them to step back." Time to make a way out of here.

Estella

"John, Kalinda, move back! Kagerou is going to do something." After having the chance to back up a few feet several more holes in rapid succession punched through in a circle. Material inside the circle began to groan as it slowly rotated and wrenched itself away from the rest and began to rise out of the ground like a core sample. Once it was clear it leaned over and dropped to pieces over the ground. There was now an vertical tunnel down to where Kagerou and the students were.

Nicholas hated himself for doing this but he had to help even though he hated the academy and everything and almost everyone inside he had to protect them,He was currently holding a dead rapist in his hand holding the limp man by the collar of his shirt.He threw down the dead man on the ground leaving a poem by William Blake on the dead man's chest.

"Stay out of back alleys..." He said to the women before running off form the building and off to the academy,Once he got their he scanned the area the place looked like hell or Juggernaut had a go at the building,"Damn it to hell...i don't want to be here..." He said to himself taking one more look before he saw a man hunched over a little girl and to his own disgust was eating her.

Nick gritted his teeth beneath his mask ruining over to the mad man extending his vines out to try to entangle the man into a vine cocoon,He had become a bit stronger then he was once honing his skills to be a deadly force.

John Brock

As soon as John hears Estella's voice, he flips backward, landing fifteen feet away. Once the tunnel down is created, John jumps down and begins carrying students out.

Ben Parker

Unbeknownst to his older sister, Ben had waited out of sight for her ship to pass overhead, then jumped as high as he could, hands oustretched toward it. His talons just barely latch on, the speed of the ship nearly jerking Ben's arm out of socket as it drags him through the air. He then slowly, but surely, makes his way to the top of the aircraft where he then lounges until they arrive at the school. After seeing John dive into a tunnel and then emerging with students in tow, Ben rushes to join him.

Anthony Luthor

A new, steel grey, nondescript sedan pulls to a stop at the fallen gates of the Academy. As the door opens, Anthony steps out and says calmly to the person on the line, "Do you really think I'm unaware of recent events? Yes, it's unfortunate but life must go on. Grief isn't an excuse for failure to meet goals. You will meet with him whether you want to or not." Anthony hangs up the phone and locks the car before walking towards a growing group of people in the distance. Some, he recognized as Academy graduates, others, he could only assume were new students. "Glad to see there are still heroes in the world."

Jack
Jack swung in last as the only one who did not cheat to get to there. He landed close to the tunnel and began to help pulling students out. "So seems both you and E cheated to get here. Thanks for that bro..." He said still trying to sound like he was not close to screaming. He was still worried as all hell and it clearly showed. He was clearly bothered. That and there were still more people to show up.

Ryan
Ryan looked at the man clearly confused. He had no idea what was wrong with this guy. He quickly put a hand up on Nicholas' shoulder to stop him. "Don't. Keep him under control but do not harm him." He said speeding back to the that tunnel and pulling people out. He then put one student down and ran back to Phoebe. "This is bad... Got any ideas? I wonder if I should go talk to Connor..."

Connor

"No so much heroes, Anthony, as...a common interest. The school ties us together, in a way no other heroes or villians have ever been connected before. It wouldn't surprise me if every graduate came. Wanting to know" connor said, walking up, waited until John and ben had come up from the tunnel, before going in himself so as not to run into them.

How many students were there? A class full? Out of how many students in the school, was a class all that was left?

He nudged students up the tunnel, lighting it with a handy light from his suit. "Quickly now" he looked around what was clearly the reamanta of a classroom. If one teacher could save their class, maybe the others could too. It was going to be a long day searching, but he doubted anyone would leave.

With a small sigh, Connor lead a small group of students out the tunnel, looking about, watchful for any potential cave in.

Phoebe

Phoebe stood on the edge, watching, frightened. "What if there are more, Ryan, more students trapped like this?" She looked about, "What ff we can't get to them in time?" She didn't expect any answers, and she bit her lip, as behind her, four chlorofieds, large as any giant, formed. "Go. Search for survives" She told them, and they went lumbering off in different directions. At least they would be able to move rubble easily.

Where they just looking for bodies?

"Lets see if we can find any more survives, and where this began" She said

Kalinda

Kalinda stepped back, and stayed back as the others began to get the students out of there. "I'll just go see if I can find anyone else" She said, most likely to thin air, not expecting anyone to even hear her. She moved away from this group, and stood standing immobile, searching for anymore groups of students, any more survivers, going by emotions. If you could emote, then you were alive

"Hank McCoy's recipe alternative for Human flesh is what can sustain me when I'm in a voracious state. If someone like this girl stops moving I have to eat. I was born from The Darkness. I do not wish it to live in me, but it is what I am. Unless you could provide an extremely heavy dose of recreational drug, it can't just be a tranquilizer or it won't work."

The air itself seemed to bear the scars of what had befallen the Academy, the smell of brick dust and burning. Looking out over the scene she saw emergency services carefully and methodically working and then the emerging graduates, more frantic in their movements. Kat held back though, not immediately jumping into the fray. It was clear the number of survivors was minimal and having half the alumni scrabbling about could only cause more harm than help.

Watching as a number of survivors began to be pulled from the rubble she identified the faces of before. They had changed, matured, five years meant more here than it did to her. Though she supposed she would look different to them too, even her change in wardrobe could possibly be dramatic enough. Her dress was beautiful in its simplicity, and could almost be called conservative if not for the slit to her thigh, with a band of gold at her waist. Black seemed fitting.

With the slightest movement of her hand a faint halo of gold surrounded the area before disappearing again. No Asgardian magic. This was not the work of her kin; there would have been no reason or motivation but it had not stopped them in the past. It had only been the smallest possibility but it settled that fear, though answered no questions, namely who could have done such a thing.

Anthony Luthor

"Mr. Stark, while I won't tell you to ask the others to stop looking, you must realize it's useless to do random searches. Just have the telepaths do a mental search. If they detect anyone, then the stronger among us an clear the rubble. If they detect nothing, we have matters to discuss."

Nicholas moved closer to the cannibal his blood boiling in anger at this monster,"Oh I think I can do that..." He said darkly to Ryan turning his attention to the cannibal.

"Stay still or I'll rip your head off...and you know what I'll rip your head of still..." He said contracting the vines around the cannibal's body tightly to keep him under control for the time being.

Kagerou

With the last of the students out Kagerou herself emerged and took a look at the destruction. Everyone seemed to be doing their own thing in the effort. No stranger to death and destruction she kept her head about her and shook her head. "Alright people listen up! We can't just go around moving things without thinking. Everything under us could collapse at any moment and movement could hasten that."

Glancing around at who they had she pointed to Phoebe and then Nicholas. "Everything below is loose down there. I want you to secure as much as you can with roots. Start small, no sudden movements. Everyone else needs to step back because we could be putting more in danger. Start from the outside and move in." Looking toward Estella she seemed to still be using her telepathy to find people. Likewise Kalinda was hanging back which likely meant she was also making use of her powers in the search effort.

There seemed to be some trouble between one of the students and a graduate. Walking over she waved a hand and cut the vines away at the ground. "Excuse me, I do not appreciate your hostility to one of my students. I will take care of the situation." Picking up Erik from the ground she brushed him off. "What do you need right now?"

Phoebe

Phoebe realised she should have thought of that, and was glad to have something to do. So she shifted, letting roots, vines, grow, through cracks and crevices, to create asupport for any unstable structure. She desperately wanted to ask about her father, but she didn't, instead focusing on what she was doing. It was easy to maintain, and she looked about, ready to help if need be.

Connor

"Until I know for certain that there are no more people to find, i'm not stopping. If you wish to discuss matters, it will have to be here" Connor said to Anthony, as the last students emerged, "We need to set up a tent or something, or get them to someone secure, and if any o fthem are hurt, where they can be treated" He said, raising his voice so Kagerou could hear him

"It's Hank McCoy's recipe, all you need to do is talk with him if he's on speed dial. There should be a large supply of meat made for this purpose in my room but it was gone when I got here. Which means someone knew that this would happen and would make it so I would start eating the other students. If any of the computer's are still working you could access it with a high enough command".

Ryan ran over to the side of the group and looked so damn bored. "What are we gonna do? There has to be experts in this. You know search and rescue teams?" He asked to anyone nearby.

Jack
Jack was worried as he looked around. He had no idea what he was doing and his strength was more for fighting and less for lifting heavy things. He stood on one of the stable bits of debris and looked around.
