After defeating his long time enemies, Trunks very quickly has another realization. He's not going to live forever. As strong as he has become, he knew time would catch up to him sooner or later. And what then? Would he simply die and leave the Earth without any form of protection against threats? No, without any second thoughts, Trunks decided that he would never let that happen, and so he began a new mission. He began searching all over the world, seeking out any survivors he could find who had even the smallest potential. It would be a long shot, but this was Trunks' only option. He'd take these survivors, misfits from all different walks of life, and attempt to train them, turn into the next Defenders of Earth.
Of course, things are never so simple. Evil is always lurking in the shadows, looming in the distance and just waiting for an opportunity to smash apart what little peace the Earth has left. So answer this question: What will you do about it? Will you succumb to fear and stand aside? Or will you roll up your sleeves, grit your teeth and fight for your planet?

Races
Humans: Generally the most average race, capable of excelling in any direction they choose to focus on. Their raw energy might not be as powerful as others at first, but they are often described as having the greatest potential.
Namekians: Green-skinned slug people from the Planet Namek. The first known Namekians on Earth were originally believed to be demons due to their frightening appearance, but the discovery of their home planet proved otherwise. Namekians are generally born into one of two Castes: Warriors and Dragon Clan. Warrior Namekians tend to have the greatest power levels, and spend their lives honing their fighting skills when not working their farms. Dragon Clan Namekians excel at using mystical abilities, such as healing, telepathy, or even creating Dragon Balls, but are weak in battle compared to their Warrior brethren. These days, Warrior Namekians are the ones who most commonly survived the conquest of New Namek due to their higher power levels. The Dragon Clan, unfortunately, is largely extinct thanks to Meta Cooler's conquest of New Namek, and the survivors have no knowledge of how to create Dragon Balls.
Cyborgs: While the Androids, save a few exceptions, were pure machines designed to look human, Cyborgs on the other hand are humans that have had mechanical implants given to them for one reason or another. Their machinery gives them greater strength than normal humans, but they seem to have greater difficulty at increasing their power. Also, the damage done to the planet by Androids 17 and 18 has caused people everywhere to become dangerously paranoid of robots or anything resembling Androids, Cyborgs included.
Others: Earth has dealt with demonic and mystical beings in the distant past, and some of these beings may still be living in quiet seclusion even now. Elsewhere, aliens from other parts of the galaxy inhabit other worlds, and it may only be a matter of time before one or more of them visit Earth.
Saiyans: Having once been some of the most feared warriors in the galaxy, the Saiyans are now extinct. Son Goku and Prince Vegeta were the last of the pure breds, and both of them are dead and gone, Goku by way of a heart virus and Vegeta having been killed by the Androids.
Half-Saiyans: Usually possessing the raw strength and instinct of the Saiyan and unlimited potential of humans, Half-Saiyans are sometimes considered even more dangerous than their full blooded parents. However, only two of these individuals have ever lived, Goku's son, Gohan, and Vegeta's son, Trunks. Gohan fell in battle against the Androids while he was still trying to train the young Trunks, and now only Trunks himself remains as the last living person with Saiyan blood.
Majins: Gooey creatures born from the mighty Majin Buu, Majins are very resilient fighters, able to regenerate from even the smallest of remains. Unfortunately, Babidi never lived long enough to awaken Buu in this timeline, as he was killed by the Androids before he could complete his plan. With Buu still in hibernation deep underground, it's unlikely he will ever get the chance to give birth to this race.
Power Level: No highter than 2,000 to start with. (Insert Technique Name): Describe Technique, only start with one for now, we are essentially newbies after all.
I forgot to specify that, didn't I? My apologies. The starting range will be around the 2,000 area. You've trained with Trunks for a little while but are still pretty new to the whole Z-fighter thing as a whole.
Appearance: Felix has blue eyes and fair skin. He has short orange hair that is normally messy because he never tends to it, which falls down about 2 inches. He also wears a loose-fitting plain white long-sleeved robe that is about an inch off the ground. He doesn't wear shoes. He has training weights under his robe. (Wristbands: 5 pounds each. Ankle bracelets: 5 pounds each. Shirt: 30 pounds.)
Power: 1,670
Techniques: Emerald Blast: Focuses energy into the outstretched palms of his hands and then brings them together, firing a long green beam. He then teleports behind them and fires a conical beam, completely engulfing them in energy. Attack grows stronger as he does.
Personality: Felix is generally happy if he can be. He doesn't get angry very easily, and he tends to care more for others than himself. He also likes messing around and playing pranks, especially if he needs to let off steam. He also likes to volunteer, and gets bored pretty easily.
Bio/Background: Felix lost his parents to the androids and was living on the streets, mostly scavenging in empty houses to survive. (Honestly not hard to believe in the HOT timeline.) He was furious at what the androids did to everyone, and wanted to find a way to help. He started training himself (not very well, mind you) until Trunks found him. He doesn't have any real combat experience and most of his attacks work well mostly in theory.
@HaltingBlooper Okay so thanks to your profile, I realized I forgot to add a section for Background information. Whoops. I'm gonna assume the Ki Bomb is somewhat weak because otherwise, a super attack that can't be deflected is a bit sketchy on the balance scale. Unless of course it has some other weakness to it that you failed to mention, in which case add it in now.
You'd likely be teenagers, probably not any older than Trunks himself. As for combat experience, you can have some, as long as there was no Ki involved.
Speaking of Trunks, I've posted a profile for him in the CHAR section.
Xalam is a tall, muscular young Namekian - his stature being taller than any other teenaged Earthlings/Humans, and some adults, and he's still growing until he reaches the pinnacle of his maturity. His skin is the same deep green as most Namekians, and other than his height - which is above average - there's nothing overtly distinctive. His features are sharp and mature, with dark eyes and sharper-than-average teeth, and the standard antennae. His outfit consists of folded, white cloth wrapped around his neck and shoulders, along with a tight, durable black obi wrapped around his lower abdomen/waist. He wears long, baggy white gi-pants, which are tucked into brown boots. His fore-arms and hands are wrapped tightly with bandages, leaving the fingers free - along with the palms, for his Ki attacks. All of his clothing is weighted heavily, due to his body's regenerative functions, his muscles heal quickly from the strain, and thusly, his form is physically exceptional, in terms of strength, speed, and durability.
Name: Xalam [Zie-Yam] Age: 15 Race: Namekian Gender: Asexual; Has male organs, and goes by male pronouns.
Personality: Events in his past has tailored Xalam to who he is today. A serious and focused young man, Xalam sees no personal glory in the act of childish games. He tends to keep to himself; an emotionally distant person that would rather train for hours on end by himself, or sit down and study the history of the world, strategic techniques, or knowledge on Ki. His gruff demeanor could put a few people off, especially combined with his temper; Xalam is a calm young man, but whenever he gets mad, you can generally tell...and it isn't a pleasant experience. He is serious about becoming one of the world's next Z-Fighters, and his undying, immortal focus and determination shows this. His potential is endless, and he is still developing, but so far, he has shown himself to be a sharp-witted, strong, serious, and focused Namekian with a penchant for combat and battle. While these traits would make him a great leader, his emotional distance tends to keep him from making any personal connections, which is a necessity for someone with charisma. He's more intimidating than charismatic, anyways.
Background Information: Xalam's life on New Namak was...rough, at best. He awoke from a scarred egg, in the ruins of one of the many settlements on the conquered and destroyed Planet Namek. The first few years of life was hard at best; in succession of the Meta Cooler's attack, multiple types of bandits and beasts prawled New Namek, eating whatever survivors they could. He remember trying to sneak around one such beast - a large tiger - only for it to notice him and attempt to eat him whole. He barely escaped, after hitting it on the snout with enough force to skid it backwards and crack the bones and cartilage there.
That's where he learned of his strength. He continued to travel through the ruins as a little Namek, self-learning from the books he salvage from different destroyed villages, while his combat ability was developed from self-defense against the beasts and bandits. Eventually, he found a barely-surviving outpost on New Namek, owned by one of the last few Warrior Clans. The Chief, noticing the five year old's torn, bleeding, and roughed-up body, instantly took him in, despite past events making him hesitant about taking in strangers. There, Xalam healed due to the safe, if not ruined environment. The Chief, seeing how the boy was so resilient, decided that there was some sort of fortune with him.
Although not one of the Dragon Clan, he could sense potential; and this boy had unimaginable potential. Xalam agreed instantly to the training, even though he was told that it would be extremely difficult...the man wasn't kidding. The entire outpost seemed to help out with training their new hope, seeing as it was extremely rare to see a Namek kid - especially one physically strong. However...good times have to end. At the age of 14, Xalam was training with a spar - holding his own against about half of the village's Namek, although it was half-because it was just a spar, and so no one really tried to kill each other...but cracked and broken bones were something of a norm. It was something reminiscent to fun...but it was also training, and so good enough. The invasion was swift and destructive. It was a stealth attack, and although Xalam could barely sense it, he could do nothing to stop the droves of mercenaries, tamed beasts, and fiends that attacked their Outpost for the minor loot. His clan slaughtered, Xalam was vengeful and rage-filled, flying into combat.
He was a strong Namekian, and although he managed to kill a small fraction of their force - since that fraction were simple humans, and used no Ki - it wasn't enough, as they also had different species speckled in, and all of them knew Ki attacks. Torn and bleeding, like he was, nine years ago, Xalam escaped on one of the Outpost's hidden pods, not used because the direction and planet it sent you was randomized. He only did this because...because he needed to grow stronger. He knew that the mercenaries and fiends would destroy New Namek, or at least make it uninhabitable. He did not want to see another planet destroyed.
Wherever he landed, he would protect it with his life.
A year has passed since he landed on Earth...
Power Level: 2,000 Nova Beam: Xalam clenches his fist over his heart, swiftly building powerful Ki into his hand, directly from the energy source surrounding the beating organ, before pointing it at the target. Streamlined and focused purple Ki is blasted from the his palm, blasting through the air and impacting against the opponent at high-speeds, usually with enough force to puncture through. Once a few seconds past, the beam is unstable, and explodes against whatever it is still impacting with. Although it's still in the works, through sheer training and development, the technique has the potential to grow incredibly powerful, with varying, and increasingly destructive and lethal effects. [Signature Attack]
You know, its questionable where the Majin's came from nowadays. Toryiama is wishy washy on if Buu was made or just found by bibidi. I dunno where to tell him my opinion on a plot hole sealing backstory for them or not but heres my idea on that whole thing.
Majin (devil in japanese I think) are the servant class of the Demon Realm, serving under Dabora's race. Bam, Majin race origin that makes lots and lots of sense and patches up the majin buu loophole/makes GT fit into the timeline if you want to make it fit or not. lol.
Only throwing that one out there because that was my fav part of Xenoverse. Female Majin were soo cute.
@Archmage MC Yeah, I think I prefer my version, sorry. Thing about Majins is they're kind of OP as hell. Regenerate even from their ashes? Yeah, no. I called BS on Cell's little "Regenerated from a nucleus and the Saiyan DNA in him tripled his power level and oh by the way he can Instant Transmission now" stunt, and Majins are basically that but ten times stronger. No. Thank. You.
Appearance: Soia has short black hair, shorter at the sides than the top, and is relatively dark skinned. He has dark brown eyes, and wears black gi trousers, with a white tanktop, because the upper half got so ragged he had to throw it away.
Name: Soia Age: 16 Race: Human Gender: Male
Personality: Soia is quite a prideful guy, he has a high moral code (although his definition of morals can be a little...odd) that he sticks to no matter what. That said, he's extremely playful and loves having a laugh, especially through playing pranks. He's always been in awe of people who could fight, and so ever since he received combat training he's always worked hard so he can be just like them. He loves discovering new techniques and is constantly trying to push his body to do new things.
Background Information: Soia grew up in a relatively large city, one of the last few to be ravaged by the androids, which meant his childhood was luckily longer than most. He had a lot of friends and family there, so his early years were pleasant enough. After news reports after news reports of cities being razed came to them, his family and his friends' families decided to flee the city before it was too late. They have been living in an ancient network of caves in a mountain range near that city. At the age of 3 Soia went to a grand demonstration of martial arts, and ever since then has been enamored with combat training. So his parents enrolled him in a club where he slowly worked up through the belts, until they had to flee. He's kept practicing, however, and as he's grown up his skills have also matured.
Power Level: 1981 Technique:(Super Awesome Teleportation Kick of Death): (he doesn't yell that every time he does the technique, otherwise he'd never get round to actually doing it. Sometimes known as the SAT Kick) Basically, Soia kicks opponent in the face, then teleports behind them while they're still dazed, and roundhouse kicks to the back of the head, which if he does it hard enough knocks them out or at least dazes them enough so he can beat them up more. At the moment he can only do one jump (but in the future it would be cool if he could do multiple jumps so the opponent gets really pulped).
@Double, would I be able to create a magic user and if so should I list them as having a low powerlevel or just pretend that magical power is being measured on a similar scale somehow?
@Ben I'm... not sure, admittedly. Go with the former for now and if it turns out to be too weak we can always change it or something.
@Asuu I have to admit, a 14 year old Namekian kid killing off so many attackers despite having no Ki is rather hard to swallow. He sounds like wouldn't need training at all, which somewhat defeats the point of the new Defenders being untested newbies.
The attackers were basically just human thugs, which he killed easily, but he was easily over-swamped with the even slightly fighting-experienced Ki users. Sorry if I didn't make that evident; Regardless, I'll edit it to fit your needs.
