As have I on occasion. Anyways, post a character, and I'll think about it. Right now I kinda don't want to mess with the balance, but maybe you could make a self sufficient meister to go with Ninja's self sufficient weapon.
@Renny's gone off somewhere, as well, it would seem. If I can't summon him, then Regan's going to want a new partner... or become an autonomous weapon?

Aaah, well, Regan has had what passes as meister training from her mother. Before she found out she's a weapon. I didn't realize it would be a special thing before, but maybe she can pair up with Ju Long anyway? Unless Mugin's still here.
Two unrelated weapons trying to pair up is a lot like an uncompilable weapon/meister pair. at the best, the weapon is too heavy for the meister to lift.
What, you mean two swords? I get that there's a considerable difference between scimitars and a katana, but let us also not forget Regan's primary special ability - learned forms. She had to learn to fight with a katana before she could transform into one, so I think it might work out.
@CirusArvennicus I think that chukkle is attempting to avoid deviating from the original source too much. What was originally an equal ratio of meisters to weapons has turned into the weapons out numbering the weilders by two. The only way I see this being remedied is if your character's partner returns, chukkle allows some new blood into the RP, or, as you pointed out earlier, Regan is allowed some autonomy. Options one and two lack any definitive outcome so I can't really say anything there, however the autonomy bit might be viable considering Soul Eater along with several other weapons have been shown capable of transforming parts of their body into weapons. Over all Regan may not be quite as powerful without a meister to amplify and be amplified by, however it shouldn't be a massive issue if her training is sufficient.
I just find it strange that, when the RP focuses on characters that bend the normal rules, we suddenly have a problem with bending the rules? Aah, whatever. Autonomous or new miester it is. Though, being autonomous would be a little lame.
