[IC] Naruto/Pokemon The Age of Ninja

Sorom eyes scanned the area rapidly and he attempted to sense the Demon's presence. Suddenly he felt a distortion behind him just as the shadow ball was about to hit him and he rolled forward attempting to dodge both hits. Then he angrily turned around and viewed the Demon angrily, it seemed almost as though it was mocking him. Sorom was out of explosive tags but he was still a ninja, "Lets see how you like this." he muttered, "Earth Release: Earth Dome!" Sorom said slamming his palm to the ground. Earth rose from all around the trevenant encasing it. "Gallade, Ralts, as soon as it comes out kill it." Hopefully even if the demon phased through the dome it wouldn't be expecting an immediate attack.

The dome wrapped around the trevenant. Seemingly content for the moment, no holes appeared in the shape.

"Nice!" Kanobu said. He looked around to make sure other demons werent around. Haunter zooned over the area doing a quick sweep but finding nothing.

When Gallade and Ralts were prepared to strike it came a moment neither too soon or too late. The Trevenant jumped through the dome wall with an huge head screeching out at the foes. It seemed like the perfect opportunity to attack so the demons followed through with their commands.

Gallade and Ralts hit the dome like a hammer on a button, smashing the shit out of it.

"There! Its shadow! Strike at the shadow!" Kanobu pointed to the dark patch of grass just outside the dome.

It moved around on the ground like a snake, slithering around the grass. Seeing it in the dark proved very difficult.

"Uhg!" the hokages assistant said. His injuries were worsening. "Wish, Umbreon." the dark colored demon glowed from its yellow rings. A small fairy light rose up into the sky.

"No way you're getting away that easy, Shadow Stitching Jutsu" Sorom said quickly forming the hand-signs necessary. The light from Umberon highlighted the runaway shadow making it simple. Shadows rose up from all around it stabbing into it and holding it into place. "Now!" Sorom cried out and Gallade and Ralts went to finish the fight,

The Trevenant was born in the shadows, molded by it. You have merely adopted it as your ally!

That being uh stated...)

The shadow stitching jutsu was unable to latch onto the sneaking foe. The ghost demon seemed to be highly adept at evading attacks, in this forest environment it seemed transparently clear that its knowledge and familiarity were a monumental advantage.

Then just when the Trevenant popped out of its shadow to head on strike Sorom, its powerful and glowing claw was knocked away by Gallade's attack, the wrist was cut, but it was Ralt's attack that layered the punishing strike on the Travenant's hand, obliterating it.

"TREVENAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANT!" It screamed in pain. With its glowing red eye fixed on Gallade the creature once again glowed with a strong blue hue. Its other arm caught the psychic demon. Holding Gallade by the arm, it tried to keep him from escaping.

Sorom cursed, if he was right then that blue light was a demon power of the worst sort. The user dragged its opponents life force with it, if one died so did the other, which meant he should attempt to use nonlethal methods for optimal safety. "Genjutsu: Endless Sleep." Sorom whispered and rushed forward tapping the trevenant lightly on the head as he stared into its eyes attempting to induce it into, as the technique name implied, a never ending sleep.

Sorom's genjutsu activated, captivating the Trevenant in a deep sleep. The blue light vanished and then the ghost demon faded into the air.

"Excellent, you caused its spirit to dissipate." Kanobu said, now we can continue. I believe that your demons can sense the village if we get close by.

Umbreon's wish fell back to the ground, Kanobu was able to receive a small amount of relief from the move.

"That's much better."

Their path continued forward, the forest of crowded trees held no other demons in their path. The ghost demons were gone for the most part, contrary to what the Hokage's assistant said.

Ahead of them was a familiar path one lading to the village. It was an open area, having no real place to hide in the center unless one were to hide on the edges of the path.

The clear sky meant that the moonlight was shown onto the open area. Anyone could see those walking through the path.

Sorom gave a sigh of relief as the Trevanant finally dispersed. That had taken far to long, thankfully Kanobu had recovered slightly with his demon's help. It seemed they were almost home, though of course the last stretch had no cover. Glancing up at the tree's Sorom was once again greeted with the sight of webs covering the area. They would have to go through the clearing, of course the enemy no doubt had this area watched, and trapped. Sorom thought it over carefully and muttered "Shadow Clone Jutsu." and a duplicate of himself appeared and ran out into the clearing making its way towards the town.

The clone spotted nothing as it walked down the path. Seeing that it was safe, it continued until the range of the ninjutsu prevented it from going any further. When it dispersed Sorom received the short memory of the clone. There weren't any traps ahead, only the open pathway. However, there was a large Snorlax ahead, that was making a lot of noise on its own. If they played it safe they could go right around without a problem.

"See anything?" Kanobu asked. "Ghastly seems to think there's a demon ahead although isn't sure which one it is yet."

(Rolling for the fun of it I see, I'll just call it a perception check.)

Sorom nodded, "Yes appears to be a Snorlax in the way. It'd be best to sneak by, if not and it notices us then I'll attempt to trap it in a genjutsu long enough for us to get past." Sorom said outlining his plan. Then quietly and carefully he attempted to make his way through the clearing and past the Snorlax, his demons following behind him.

Sorom and his demons got past the loud Snorlax easily. Kanobu also had little trouble. Just walking past it seemed fine. At least it wasn't in the middle of the road, lord knows genin by the dozen wold be sent out just to move it out of the way.

After the Snorlax the shinobi and their demons arrived near the gate of the village. Kanobu instructed Sorom to see the guard immediately without the disguise.

"Tomorrow I'll meet you at the Hokage's Office. Maybe by then the Hokage will have something to say. I'm going right to the hospital."

The next day at the Hokage's office. Kanobu was sitting by the desk with a large stack of paperwork sitting in front of him. The Hokage was no where to be found as usual.

Sorom meet found the guard and reported the events of the night before returning to his home and getting some much needed rest. He woke up and quickly made his way to the Hokage's office. As was to be expected Kanobu was there with his paperwork. "What's next. We were unable to retrieve the scroll and able to acquire little in the way of information. You have a plan?" he inquired curious to hear what the next course of action was.

"At this point, our original mission objective is impossible to complete. But what we do know is that they aren't using demons. This rules out looking for them in the normal way. It makes sense now as to why we can't find them though. We can use demons to find demons, your Gallade for example, given the right resources could detect a certain demon miles away, however, this isn't the case with regular animals. He'd be hard pressed to detect it unless he was near it." Kanobu sorted through the paperwork.

"Last night they were much closer to the village than we expected, catching us off guard. Because they are getting closer, we can assume they plan on bringing another Guardian around to attack us. We've taken care of one already; however, another may actually destroy everything this time."

Kanobu handed him another paper.

Search for a man named Hisoka of the East. He will provide us a means of finding the Shadow of the Trees.

"That's our orders. We can leave as soon as we have a lead to his location. We already know Hisoka is from Lightning country so we'll search for a lead there first. Time isn't going to be something we can spare. Last night they were only so far away from us. The only thing which may prevent them from reaching us is the forest's natural dangers. Trevenant appearances ended last night but new Demons are already acting strange. The Uchiha family has sent a few individuals to investigate but we won't have answers any time soon."

"Hmm I don't think I'm forgetting anything, but do you have any questions?"

Sorom nodded, while they had taken down a guardian it hadn't been easy, and the beast had still inflicted considerable damage. It would certainly be best to stop the problem before it arose. Of course their order were to search for somebody who was probably somewhere in the Lightning country. Hisoka of the East. "Very well we have our orders, I assume we leave immediately?" Sorom asked. It was good that the Uchiha family had some poeple, they were usually reliable and quite capable. Unfortunately they would probably have to fight through more demons at the very least, at worst the enemy might already be there looking for Hisoka as well.
