In all seriousness, the bombs should have gone off at the border. Then your guards would probably expect the other did something and start shooting.

Your merchants practically deal with anyone so long they pay.
I may not suspect you as a mastermind behind something like this because you would never go against Tin.
On the other hand trading weapons is okay so long it's conducted under the table.
So KalMea selling explosives to the rebels can make sense.

AAAAGH, LOGICAL REASONING! Get it away!

But seriously, KalMea would not be very willing to disrupt Tin operations in the islands, since we hope to gain a piece of the property should they win out. If we have something to gain, we aren't going to help ruin it.

I supppose you could say the rebels promised us part of the islands, if they are granted independence, but if KalMea was suddenly allowed to set up colonies in the islands immieditly after they gain freedom...then, well, it would be painfully obvious to all other nations (including Tin, our strongest ally) that we had an under-the-table-deal with the native rebels.

In other words, KalMea has almost nothing to gain from this that wouldn't- excuse the pun- blow up in our face.

Well, with certain something that may or may not happen between Avalia and Tin that me and Cyclone may or may not have worked out... Let's just say some fighting might start very soon.... maybe... possibly... potentially...

Hint hint, Avalia not to long ago cut off all trade relations with Tin, sending them literally nothing.

Just for the record, because we are talking about "friendship", cyanide isn't toxic to Elves.

They might sound the air raid and/or artillery warning and get the troops to comnbat readiness but you need some targets to begin the actual shootings.
No, the bombs would sure increase the tension and not all people would deduce that there's no way that Tin did it.
So yeah, it'd cause some problems but you need a bigger push.

Yup, that's more likely to get things going.
At first Yllendthyr would be neutral and only assist in offering alternative trade routes without touching Tin territory.
If it comes to actual war they would likely offer an alliance and may propose plans for a two pronged attack.

And, should a two pronged attack against Tin start, you can assume I will be jumping in. This sounds like the start of a wondrous war.

What you all haven't realized is that the PRK has a pretty varied population, and this can work to their benefit now. Both Tinites and elves. The obvious answer is to send some elves on what amounts to a suicide mission in Tin's island. Give them mitril weaponry and Tin will have no reason to not jump to the conclusion that they were elven assassins/scouts/whatever sent from the narby Yllendthyr bases.

Similarly, send Tinites to the elven islands. Because Tinites look kind of like other humans, give them KalMean guns like Tinites might use, and maybe even Dragon pendants or the iconic facemasks of the Temple Guard.

That would sow a lot more chaos and be far more likely to lead to a war, if that is what we want to do. Of course, the elves and the Tinites must be caught, but they must also be quickly killed so that they can't be tortured to discern their actual nationality and motives.

I actually expected something like this but with the bombings.
Elven preparators are caught after the bombings who then quickly commit suicide before Tinties can question them.
Humans with outfit similar to "Tintie fanatics" are found who apparently were killed from their own explosives by "accident". Just far enough that the bodies are roughly identifiable.
Preferably these two events wouldn't happen at the same time so it would not look so fishy.
But alas this isn't the way it went.
Oh well, there are many other opportunities.

From everything I read above, I regret starting the way I did.

Everyone, The bombs went off at the border, I'll fix it when I have the time.

Edit: That is if it's not an inconvenience.

Edit Edit: Actually, no. I stand by what I started with. Or do I?

I would follow something similar to what Willy said if you're going to change it. PRK operatives that are Tinites and elves, on both sides of the border, planting bombs then perhaps shooting at each other dressed in the uniforms of their respective factions so that both sides think a war is on and open fire as well.

Nah, altering your post would only cause further mess, IMO.
I actually kind of like that I'm not lured into a more hostile situation.
I just expected a more sinister plan.
Oh well, things are apparently progressing towards a war regardless.

I actually like Willy's idea the best

EDIT: But I'll understand if it remains the same. Either way, it should work.

Leave the IC the same I say. Let tensions gradually rise from it. The natives will grow bolder with the weapons supplied by the PRK. Tin will respond with violence (that tends to be their go-to solution, doesn't it?) and maybe tensiona could rise from hordes of oppressed and starving fugitives trying to flee across the border to the elves' side.

Eventually Tin's investigation can reveal the PRK and lead to them either declaring war or perhaps trying to incite the Tinites inside the country to rebel. Alternatively Gustavo could come back, see that he didn't start a war, and do Willy's plan.

Edit: the reason I want tensions to slowly rise is so that Tin can be out of interregnum and actually fight a war, and because Willy seems to want a few posts of peace as well.

I didn't fit in the Tinite response to the bombing, in light of the possibility that Voltus might edit his post and because that post was already long enough (over 24,000 bloody characters).

But anyways, hope you all enjoy that post. It was hell to type that much on an iPad.

Objection, I think that's illegal, you should have done it before he went in. I think there's a law somewhere about that :T
