[IC] Yugioh: The King's Shadow

[Jazz]

With a stretch of her limbs and small throb of her leg, Cora sat up with a yawn while rubbing her eyes. Looking about, her eyes widened when she realized that what happened was not a dream, though that made her realized that she didn't check in with her aunt last night and began searching herself for her phone frantically. When she found it by her shoes and Duel Disk, she sighed in relief but then took a deep breath to dread the worst.

Unlocking her phone, she checks it to find missed calls and some text messages. In not wanting to disturb anyone, she opts to text her aunt. She let's her know she is okay and hanging out with some new friends. Now that the message was sent, she rolled her pant leg to check on her leg. It felt a little sore but that was without taking it off last night. Feeling a little insecure about it, she leaves it alone for now and gets up to freshen herself up in the bathroom.

A few minutes pass before Tristen wakes up while Cora is in the bathroom and notices that Cora is not in the room and that there are sounds coming from the kitchen. So he stands up, folding his futon and blankets before making his way to the kitchen.

Meeting up with Cora who exits the bathroom, she smiles to Tristen and smiles. "Good morning." She greets. Tristen nods to her. "Mornin'. Sleep alright?" He asks.

"Yeah. Thanks." Cora answers, looking at the scene before her with curiosity. Yep. Not a dream. "Good morning?"

Set looked over and finished the glasses on his nose. “Good morning. Are you you two the first ones up?” Hoth looked over and said “good morning my dear Cora! How did you sleep? Are the others awake?”

Serena groaned softly, turning her head as she started to wake slightly.

[Jazz]

Cora looked to Hoth, surprised by the cheery attitude. It's not that didn't like it, it was just something she wasn't use to. "Oh um, my legs is a little sore but it'll be okay. The others are still sleeping, ma'am." She tells her. Tristen agrees with a nod. "Yeah. Just us two for now."

Yami didn't stir by Serena's movement or sound. He seemed like he was deeply asleep with the night he had last night.

Hoth walked over to say “let me take a look dear. I am the goddess of battle after all. It’s where you and yugi get it from”

Serena opened her eyes and looked to Yami’s face, a soft smile touching her lips. She reached up and rested her hand on his cheek, just watching him.

[Jazz]

Cora's eyes widened suddenly when Hoth said she wanted to check on her leg. She tried to wave it off. "I-It's alright. I'll be fine, ma'am!" She squeaked in surprise. Teisten could only smile and moved out of the way. He was about to get in the way.

Marik wakes up to the sounds of the kitchen. Sitting up and with a stretch soon gets up with a grogginess in his steps to see what the commotion is about.

Soundly asleep and breathing at an even pace. He snuggles into the blankets and Serena.

Hoth walked over and bent down, pulling the fabric out of the way and looked the injury over. Then she rested her hand by it and it flash pink. “There how does that feel?”

Dartz was still asleep nearby, curled a little and seemed to be cold.

Serena smiled softly and moved so she could watch him better. She didn’t want to ruin the moment.

Tristen watched as Hoth pulled up the fabric to see a metal prosthetic leg. It surprised him to see it, widened eyes of shock and then looking up to see Cora cover her face like she was embarrassed. But the moved some fingers to look at Hoth and nods. "It does." She squeaked.

Tristen does the only thing he can do and looks away toward Set.

Marik stops before passing Dartz, seeing his curled form. Looking back to his futon, he grabs the blanket and puts it over Dartz before walking back toward the kitchen.

Hoth said “phantom pain is still pain my dear. Especially in war wounds.” She stood and said “next time tell someone when it starts. I know a few tricks to help keep them from happening” she went back to cutting the fruit as Set glanced over.

“If you need aid with your prosthetic please don’t hesitate. It’s a common thing in my line of work.”

Dartz stirred when the blanket was placed and opened his eyes. “What…where…”

[Jazz]

Cora's hands slowly lowered, a sadness in her eyes, not looking anywhere in particular. "I just forgot to take my leg off for the night. It won't happen again." She looks to Set smiling to mask her sadness. "Thank you. I'll go see if anyone else is awake." Turning to leave quickly only to barely dodge Marik on her way out as she twirls around him and stumble as she catches herself. "Sorry!"

Marik walks in as he watches Cora leave, then looking at Set, Hoth and Tristen. "Is everything okay?" He asks confused. Tristen shrugs. "I don't know, man. All I know is what I think Cora wanted to tell on her own time."

Marik was confused still but shrugs. "I am sure she will. Space is something she may need. I have a feeling we have become the only people besides family that are showing her compassion and inclusion." He theorized.

Dartz was getting up as Cora walked in and said “oh good morning. Is everyone else is already?”

Mokuba was waking up next to Seto and blinked, the night before a fuzzy blur.

Serena had gotten up and was changing into a robe to go use the bathroom and go shower.

[Jazz]

Cora slowed to a stop when she got to the mainroom when she noticed Dartz awake when she looked around. She was then in realization of if she should bow to Dartz or not, but then realizing that she would probably have to bow to Yami but seeing as how no one does it that maybe she shouldn't- shaking her head quickly to dispell the continuing self conversation.

She smiles to Dartz and shakes her head. "No. So far myself, Tristen, you, and Marik are up." Then looks to Mokuba. "Now Mokuba it seems." She says softly so she doesn't wake anyone up.

Darts walked to her and offered his arm. “Maybe we should go to the other room and set up for breakfast? Then you and I can get to know each other a little.”

Mokuba sat up slowly and looked at Seto. “Seto? What’s…” then he saw his brother was asleep. “Whoa…his never asleep…”

Serena came back from showering, her hair wet as she sat at the desk to work on her hair. She felt like something had happened during the night but couldn’t place it. She muttered working on her hair “why does Yami look more worn out…”

[Jazz]

Cora watched Dartz when he offered his arm. Her head tilted with curiosity. She remembered recalling a similar gesture out of fairytales so maybe this was that same gesture. Tentively Cora reached out and hooked her arm around his. "I-I don't see why not."

Seto stirred but only to roll onto his back with his head lolled to the side.

Yami shuffled a little in his sleep but kept his back to her as he settled once again.

Dartz smiled and lead her into the dining area and he found the plates and cups and said “shall we set the table? Now, I’m not sure if I introduced myself. I am Dartz, the last king of Atlantas. It’s…a very long story but in short I’m trying to make up for my past mistakes by helping the pharaoh and others in their time of need”

Mokuba looked worried and moved to shake him a little. “Seto? Seto can you hear me?”

Serena looked over and frowned. “This isn’t right…Bane?” The wolf shadow appeared and said “my lady?” “What happened to him?” The shade looked over and said “I’m not sure…we went thru more of the past but…”

[Jazz]

Cora settled to helping Dartz set the table as he introduced himself. Now that she had a face to pin with the name she paused a moment in hesitation before continuing. "I see. I uh....I heard about you from Yugi and his friends. But I mean, you were decieved and all. And I hadn't been there, so though I've heard of you, I don't hold what you've done against you, if that makes sense."

Seto turned his head as he scrunched his eyes to try and quickly wake up at the sound of Mokuba's voice. "Wha-.....What is it Mokuba?..." He asks while siting up to try and wake up further.

A groan was heard from Yami as his hand felt a cold spot on the bed. His head slowly lifts his head slowly like he's looking at the spot on the bed before laying his head back on the pillow and takes a deep breath.

Dartz paused and looked at her, a little taken aback. “Wait…truly? You…don’t hate me for being…a terrible person back then?” He stared at her, cups in his hands.

Mokuba was holding him and said “I was worried Seto I’m sorry. You never sleep like that…and I don’t remember last night very well so…are you okay?”

Serena and Bane were fighting quietly by the desk, not seeing him awake. “How could you risk him like that? anything could have happened. Why are earth did you hide this from me?” Bane sighed and said “he needs to remember, and this is the best way…”

[Jazz]

"I mean.....maybe a little bit. But why when I didn't witness it. It just kinda makes sense ya know?" Cora explained with slight shrug. "I just get to see a side of you without all the deception and lies. I'll just have a different prepective than everyone does."

Seto was trying to blink the sleep from his eyes as Mokuba held him. "I'm fine Mokuba. I got put to sleep." Sounding a tad grouchy as he was processing so much and no caffeine.

"I can hear you both..." Yami says with some technicality as he decides to roll over to prop his elbow in the mattress and resting his chin on the palm of his hand. "Technically he didn't hide it from you nor did we bring it up. Also I could have asked him to stop bit we both kind of got invested. I have to admit I feel quite rested." He explained having smiled a little at the end of his sentence.

Dartz thought her words thru then smiled softly. “Thank you…for giving me a chance Ms Cora…” he went back to working on setting the table, feeling better after last nights events.

Mokuba blinked and said “wait…by who? What the heck did I miss last night”

Serena turned to him and moved to the bed, looking worried. “Are you sure? Your not in pain or anything?”

[Jazz]

"You're welcome." She says with a smile, placing the last plate and went to get the silverware. Cora hadn't stopped as she spoke to Dartz, also concentrating on the task at hand. She had to admit that she was curious about Atlantis, however she didn't want to seem....rude(?) of asking about a home that Dartz could no longer go to. We'll, as far as she knew.

Seto tries to sit up with a small groan. "Set. Details can be explained later. He got confused who I considered friend, you got hurt because of him, I chewed him out for it, he got the memo. You've been asleep ever since you got got healed for the injury on your head." He explains as simple as possible. The rest could be explained as they went. Right now. Seto needed coffee.

Yami smiles as he sat up. "I am fine Serena. I was just tired." There is no need to worry." He assures.

Dartz finished up and nodded. “Now we can go bring things to the table. It’s quite the crowd here…a lot of friends the boys have gathered” he looked at Cora and asked “but your not like them are you. You are new to this friend thing just like I am”

Mokuba nodded and got up “stay here. I’ll get it” he ran off knowing what his brother needed.

Serena frowned and said “why are you still tired if you feel refreshed?”
