[OOC] Complexity Threshold: A Superhero RP

Alright, first IC post is up. I have presented a situation anyone can get involved in, since it's between the two cities that we actually have players in. If your character will not get involved, that's fine too, you can still post what your character is doing, or create another situation that others can get involved with if you would like.

The distance from either city to the plant is approx. 280 km, or 175 mi. If your character travels at the speed of sound, you'll get there in approx. 15 minutes, assuming your character starts out in one of the two cities.

I am not going to make my heroes, on the basis of me being happy with all the chars I got everywhere across the board.

well, that fun little scenario I've just set up should give the heroes something to do after some supercriminal ass is kicked...

I should point out that if people want to go to Blue Harbor, but do not want to fight Meltdown, there are people to save and reactors to prevent from going critical. Someone asked me the extent of damage, so I'll elaborate: sections of the plant have collapsed so some people are buried under rubble with rescue efforts trying to save them, the reactors might go critical, Meltdown has been releasing a lot of infra-red, so the path away from the plant is mildly scorched with dried grass and partially burnt trees. Meltdown is an overhuman who can release radiation, basically alpha particles, beta particles, gamma rays (EM waves) and neutrons. Even though Meltdown is a source of radiation, he is not a source of 'fallout', he does not contaminate the environment by his mere presence.

I'm lagging a little behind on filling out the rest of the other 'Big Six' characters. I'll let a few more players post before I have Meltdown react to being confronted.

Lorns a public figure, but not a villain. A rich boy, donates to charities and runs charity events. He seems like a good guy if anything some think he can sometimes be a bit of a snob.

Though all in all up front he seems like a good guy.

Casey has been around for a little while, but as we discussed, he's probably being confused for his mother.

Blast Girl is probably decently well-known, especially around where she lives, but hardly to the extend of some others.

She got some fame for handling Maestro(performance criminal I mentioned a couple times) and a dangerous supervillain named "Mister Crystal" but yeah.

Charlotte's a bit weird in that a lot of people know of her but most don't know much about her and probably wouldn't recognize her on sight.

Erin and Robert's multiple high profile fights in downtown Angel City definitely drew a lot of attention their way. the repercussions of their fights were more felt in the low- to mid-wealth areas of Angel City, as both Erin and Robert have had more lasting impacts on both areas. since then, Erin has put more effort into helping out those in need and fighting crime and whatnot, but her occasional mishap with thievery or being a little too brutal with the criminals she catches has given her a bit of a skewed reputation - as I mentioned in her CS, an "angel with some really rough edges." public opinion of Vigil reflects that grey-area perception of her, in that most of the low- to mid-wealth areas know they can almost always depend on her for help but the high-wealth areas of Angel City are pretty stuck on the fact that she stole a sandwich for lunch the other day.

Robert is pretty generally regarded as a piece of shit. just about all of Angel City remembers the multiple times an angry shirtless dude went around the city breaking things and shouting things about how he's "the Wrecker" and he's going to "bury this town in its own filth." so naturally, nobody really likes him very much. interestingly enough, people tend to forget that Erin is always the one going after him - probably because of that sandwich I mentioned.
