A field effect ability like this would cost you 6 Energy, unless you give it some sort of negative effect or short-term penalty for use.
and a boost to 15 for 3 points, not to mention he can stack stoneskin multiple times so he can do 4 armored over 4 rounds for 30 Defense... Hmm...
I assume that later someone can spend points to increase duration of their abilities as well for 1 round for 1-2 points?

A Defence boost of 5 for 3 Energy, which only lasts for 3 turns and so could be used to give a maximum boost of 15 for 9 Energy and then maintained at that level for a fourth turn before Brick wouldn't have enough Energy to activate it again. And during all those rounds he'd ne using up his action, so wouldn't be able to attack or do any other tricksy mcguffining.

It's a 2 Point upgrade to increase the duration of a status effect for 1 turn, yes.

I added Nena's CS in the form you wanted it to the Character Tab.
Still might be useful if there is a bomb ticking down to armor up to protect others.
Could also turn it around for a +15 for one attack to really knock someone's lights out.

Unhallowed Presence:
The atmosphere around Heretic seems to come alive with supernatural activity, terrifying and weakening his opponents. Whenever Heretic attacks an enemy, or vice versa, target enemy is automatically debuffed -1 defense until next round. This debuff can stack.
Genni likes his Status Effects.
Not forgetting his Solid Wall trait, which gives a Defence boost to all allies against AoE attacks.

What about a 25 defense boost versus being thrown at someone via a skill?
