Moving items at high speed would come under transmutation at molecular levels, which is not allowed. xD

Though I do like your original ideal or spatial reposition. Specializing in teleportation in itself is not allowed as it's a basic art, though what you are suggesting is not exactly teleportation as it follows a set of rules and limitation, so it's doable. Though the range and size will be limited.

I thought Mikael meant teleportation as in dematerializing something and moving it at rapid speed and rematerializing, that is one of the things in molecular manipulation.

There is no normal way to do something. For example I have a chrono whose specialty will be deconstruction and reconstruction, he will be able to atomize structures and then reshape them. Using this he can "teleport" half a mountain on top of an enemy.

Another way to achieve the same result is to tear open a portal in space.

Another way is to teleport via catalysts. Teleporting through mirrors, through shadows, through light, though these are advance, level 2 casts I'm talking about.

@Grif of Hearts I'm perhaps making a character, or at least reserving an alch spec for future use, that utilizes something a bit similar. I am aware that your character has Physical Enhancement as their Alch-spec and that we should compare and contrast. Should I send a PM, or do you have a skype? Where would you like to communicate? :P

My character Ilana has Aeriform alchspec, which includes gaseous manipulation. Xodus, you can ask Ryver about Ilana's recently broadened interpretation of her alchspec (basically for the sake of simplicity and less confusion to New players).

Anyway thanks for the feedback y'all. Not needed anymore though.

@xodus deconstruction/reconstruction seems a /lot/ like molecular manipulation to me. And in fact that's on the banned list, not the reserved, so is this Chrono using a skill that nobody else can use (beyond their capabilities), or is it just misplaced on your list?

Also I'd think that with something like teleportation, which is a standard skill, there would be a standard method. Anything else would be the asylum's choice, usually if it falls in their specialty.

As for shadow teleportation and mirrors, I don't see why this is a level 2 cast, /especially/ since basic teleportation is a standard skill. It's not very powerful. You said Sparks should be able to totally fry someone with a level 3, but this seems far less powerful than that.

The banned powers are technically for Asylums as they are far over powered and right now our Asylums aren't strong enough. But yes I adjusted deconstruction and reconstruction to reserved.

The power is standard but there can be various ways of using it. Healing can be used in a multitude of ways. You can boost your cell regeneration to heal wounds, you could use a powerful cast to supernaturally heal yourself, you could drain the life around you to heal yourself (taboo). etc

As for shadow teleportation and mirror teleportation, you are phasing in between realities. The implications are far greater, you could drag someone else into a pocket realm of shadows. Breaking through realty isn't possible for Asylums at a level 3.

Now say Sparks faces a rogue, they could easily fry their brain. They could use the electric signals that passes through the synapses to burn the brain, they could physically touch a person's head and fry it etc. But when faced with a tough enemy or another Asylum it won't be as easy.

Generally standard teleportation has a relatively short range and you are traversing through the same reality, you are merely willing your body to appear at a different location.

Let me give you an example of your own alchemy electric affinity. At a level 2 you can teleport in a completely different way. You can travel through an electric conduit. You can become an electric signal, travel through electric lines and appear out a television.

Now you may ask why waste a level 2 doing this? Well a level 2 cast is a little complicated. A level 2 cast is like a massive attack, think Goku hitting a spirit bomb, he has to channel energy. The difference you don't have to stand with your hands held high screaming for half an hour.

The energy accumulation is automatic and as it is accumulating your alchemic output is boosted as well, incredibly so. So you don't have to stand idle as your attack hits, you can assault the enemy with a barrage of over powered alchemic attacks as your final attack is prepared.

As for my post, I have an exam tomorrow and day after, so I will have my post up on Sunday.

@xodus Right, I think you mean for Chronos? And alright, I get it. Still, teleportation is a standard skill, and it's going to have a standard method. Going through shadows or mirrors only has implications if you assume there is a realm in between, instead of saying it functions like a portal from Portal. The former I could see as level two, the latter, however, should still be three. Electrical travel would be cool, and that'd work for long distances. Definitely level 2, though. However I recall you saying that there's long-distance teleportation, such as however we get to a mission location. Easy teleportation is line-of-sight only.

I'm not entirely clear how level two works. Also some stuff has come up with elaborate and elegant sigils. I'd think neatness and complexity add to power and/or accuracy, possibly both. This came up elsewhere; I forget if I mentioned it here but it's not in the last two pages so if I did oh well. ^.^;; There's also been talk of sigil traps -- if you prepare a sigil but leave part unfinished, can you have something trigger it (say a much smaller cast that detects certain conditions, or a tripwire that lowers the final piece into place, or something like that)? I'd guess that the sanity drain comes when creating it, not when it goes into effect. Does there need to be active intent behind the completion, or can it be triggered by the unwary with the caster nowhere nearby? Delayed-result casts might be interesting to use as well.

Standard method being whisp away from one location to another, yea. But it's relative to your cast level. It will make it fun >=D

Next, portals? Now there are two aspects I can get from and both can't be a level 3 cast else it will make it too easy. The supernatural portal "gateway to narnia" these portals have magical energy of their own, which is why they teleport you to some other place. There is no such thing in CA. You could artificially imbue an object with so much alchemic energy that it does this, but it won't be possible in level 3 and it isn't prudent at all.

The "worm hole" concept. Now the idea of a worm hole is it is like a tunnel connecting one point to the other. How is it accomplished? You see for this you have to distort space and Gravity to such an extent that what should be a miles walk becomes a second by creating a short cut and or distorting time via relativity. This again is not a level 3 hence not possible. Oh yea teleportation is tricky. xD plus let's face it if various forms of teleportation was possible can you imagine the sheer havoc. Angel would love it, not only does he enjoy showing off but he loves to play dirty.

Yes long distance teleportation is when a group of alchemist's cast together to send you or a group to a distant location.

I mentioned once that the casts resemble 3 aspects. The mind (sigillum), the body (motem) and the soul (vocem) (The more detail and meaning you put into your sigil, it will be more powerful. You need to physically activate a sigil, though if you are far away you can activate the sigil by shooting it etc. You have to make contact directly or indirectly.)

The more emotion you put into Vocem and the longer you chant the more powerful it is.

Similarly Motem is based on your movement and the intensity of that movement.

Edit: yes a Sigillum cast can be prepared and put in ambush though not for long periods of time and only 3 can be crafted together.
