Actually this whole situation remembers me of the Simpsons episode where they visited Brazil. Homer even took a crash course in Spanish just to find out that we don't speak it when he arrived here. That kind of confusion is always funny to behold on unaware tourists.

Actually, that could be a plot point. Someone could try and learn Spain-ish to better talk to Alice, only to discover that she actually speaks Portuguese. And I suppose Isabella already knows Spanish, so there's that.
